absolutely not because they they have to understand or what they know is they have to protect that first seat at all when you look at the final uh three games of their season you see the Texans that’s a questionable you know kind of a matchup you see the Steelers that’s a questionable matchup you see the Denver Broncos when they play well and and if we remember each other uh the game’s result last when they played the Denver Broncos they played them they beat him on the last second you know field goal so those are all questionable games that in the back of their mind they’re saying to themselves we have to protect the first seat at all cost we want everything to go through aead but also we can get a week to have a potential uh healthy uh Patrick Mahomes to get to get uh mended up but when you look at the bills who are sitting at 11 and3 right now their remaining schedule is the Patriots they’re favorites to win that when you see the Jets they’re favorite to win that and the Patriots again so if they don’t finish strong with these last three games they can really kind of squander an opportunity and I think that’s what they’re looking at most in uh Kansas City can’t yeah cam I absolutely think the Chiefs have urgency they’re looking at it for a lot of the same reasons that you outlined more important than being able to have the AFC playoff field go through Arrowhead I think it’s the rest that they’re after and when we start talking about a team that’s trying to do something that no team in the super bow era has done which is three repeat you recognize that attrition is going to have to be one of the main things that you fight with and we know that when you have guys that have played a lot of football Over The Last 5 Years there’s an accumulative effect in terms of fatigue over the last five seasons the Kansas City Chiefs have played in 16 playoff games cam that’s a full season so they played a full season more than anybody else in the National Football League so I think that has to factor into the math in terms of why they’re prioritizing trying to get this rest and then also when you look at the standings they’re two games ahead of buffalo in the win column even though Buffalo has the head-to head if the Kansas City Chiefs can get two wins in the next 5 days against the Texans and against the Pittsburgh Steelers guess what not only are you talking about them being able to rest on Wild Card Weekend but you’re talking about them being able to rest in week 18 and considering that you’re playing on Wednesday of next week that’s 2 and 1/2 weeks of rest before you got to play a football game with your starters so for a team that has been battling with injuries from guys on both sides of the ball keep players key contributors I think they’re prioritizing getting that rest which is why Patrick Mahomes is pushing it it on that ankle let me say something I understand if Patrick Mahomes plays in this game and Andy Reid allows it all I’m saying is that if it were me if I were Andy Reid if I were the head coach Patrick Mahomes would not be playing this week because a high ankle sprain is a high ankle sprain I’m thinking about the past rush that the Houston Texas throwing your direction and I think that that could be something that could be hazardous to his health now but that’s just my opinion in terms of me electing to sit him out for the week not the rest of the season just this week here’s where I got a problem with you Kim and everybody else this level of urgency that all of a sudden has to be in play because oh my whatever scenario is going to ensure that he’s most healthy for the postseason just don’t come to me and tell me I need to be if I got Patrick Mahomes I need him to play in this game because I need to be in Jeopardy despite receiving a contract extension before the season began the team’s performance has raised questions about his long-term prospects McDaniel celebrated for his offensive prowess and hailed as a mastermind for designing an explosive offense in Miami over the past two seasons is facing a very very different scenario this year the narrative has shifted drastically after a series
