so you know there there’s there there’s a sense of urgency to make sure we do things the right way you know it’s a new feeling right because of what happened last week the opportunities that that have risen so um it’s just Again part of the process part part of learning you know there’s a lot of things going on right with the Thanksgiving and then and then playing early the short week and all that stuff so we just just going through the process with that Tony what all those seniors on your defense what’s their leadership meant to you to to stay together through the last month and and emerge and Saturday and and be moving into this into this last regular season game what is what what do their leadership meant yeah I mean it’s meant a ton right especially you know everybody everybody can be happy and doing things the right way when when when everything is positive and you’re winning and then when adversity strikes that’s when you really see you know what people are about so having having that leadership having those guys go through the ups and downs and all that kind of stuff for this program for each other um it it paid off with the way they played you know they played so damn hard I mean there’s there there was plays out there where you know guys are are double teamed and they’re throwing guys off and and fighting like heck to uh to make a play so it was it was really it was really cool to see those guys and the joy they had after the game I it was run games first in the Big 10 pretty talented how do you slow a team like that down oh man they they they truly are and I mean when you go back and really watch the film they are they are good at what they do I mean the offensive line is is excellent at at uh at blocking and sifting through all that stuff all the movements and and the back I mean he’s he’s as as lead El leite as they come you know in terms of breaking tackles staying on his tracks got great vision and then you know he can he can put a foot in the ground and and plan any which way so it’s going to it’s going to be it’s going to be a great challenge right that’s what the big 10’s about it’s going to be a great Challenge and we got to make sure that we tackle well that we play with dominant contact and get a lot of bodies around the ball have you seen the guys up front sort of embrace that challenge knowing they’re facing one of if not you know the second best running back in the country yeah um you know again you just you turn on the tape and you look at the things that they’re they’re doing and practicing and the stuff that t Knight’s uh having them key on and all those things it’s uh it’s been a good good week of preparation so far you know and and a good week of preparation embracing the process gives you a chance to go out there and play well you know what I mean so right now just again just looking schematically at some things making sure we have our numbers correct and then getting them emotionally ready to to play the game I they’ll be they’ll be geeked up to play I mean they they understand especially those old guys the young guys they you know they they’re they kind of don’t know we told them last week what it was going to be about and and they felt it out there on the field you could tell like that was like hey look they don’t like us we don’t like them you kick it up a notch for this game right like so they understand they those old guys understand and the young guys they’re starting to feel like how how serious this game and what it means to Nebraska be a guy who could play a fourth game this this Friday yeah possibly you know I mean he’s he’s a big strong guy you know so um um we’re just again going through the process seeing what seeing if he’s ready it’s hard to take four five six games off and then just go back in there and play right so you got to have your wits about you and stuff like that so we’ll see we’ll see if he’s available how do you feel like B Hill did you know basically his first game to you yeah I mean those when when guys go out there like that you got to give them you got to give them a chance right you can’t just you know they’re going to make their plays and they’re going to make their mistakes you I mean you can’t just you can’t just throw them away like that that’s a great learning moment for him you know he’s going to be a really good football player for a long time and I remember some of the best defensive backs that ever that I got a chance to coach you know early on in their career playing wise they gave up a lot of plays you know I mean and then they just learn through experience through training you know being in the moment they they learn in those moments and they become some of the best on the planet so he’ll he’ll be that way you know it was good to see him run around good to see him not not worry about you know his his hamstrings or his knees or anything like that so now it’s just a matter of him game speed and all that kind of stuff we’ve Al asked you a lot about sier right but I guess he was sick Saturday what do you think you know fighting through that tough tough as Nails I mean he was he was sick a lot of guys were like that you know a lot of guys had Miss some practice like Kei you could see it that that they were just they were fighting like heck man like on the sideline you could just see that they were just drained and all of a sudden they’re running back on the on the field and making plays you know I mean so that’s that’s something that that’s that’s Nebraska that’s the culture and that’s a testament to those guys willpower cuz they were they they were truly feeling under the weather and and they went out there and played for their teammates so it was it was it was it was good to see is it largely over now I mean is there still any lingering sickness oh no I mean the the the plan from coach Rule and uh Chris and Drew and those guys in the med staff um those guys trying to trying to stay ahead of of those things making sure that guys are uh being hygienic and and washing their hands and you know kind of things like that I think those things are played key into keeping that keeping that sickness to a minimum how’ you feel the tackling looked on Saturday against Wisconsin I thought it was okay I thought and spurts it was it was good and then there’s a couple times where where guys got out where we had the ball tackle for one or two and it gets five and six and stuff like that you know again whether that’s population of bodies around the ball or whether that’s guys not in a great position not leveraging the ball something like that you know again things things to work on but it was different combinations of guys you know I mean different coverages different combinations of guys so that’s stuff that we’re going to have to keep on working through so you have to watch foremost with with Caleb Johnson in that area as far as just making sure you get him to the ground what does he do well yeah he he he breaks tackles you I mean like he he does not go down if just by lower the shoulder and all that kind of stuff he does a great job he’s his center of gravity is low and he’s it doesn’t look like he’s running very hard but you cannot tackle him I mean Minnesota Minnesota year before gives up I don’t know the 11 yards rushing to the to them to to these guys and then this year they get 200 yards rush and you watch a play and they run a defense and he hits an outside Zone and they got they got three or four guys in the hole they got three or four guys in the hole and the guy still breaks for I don’t know 30 or 40 yards so he is truly an elite back and it’s going to be it’s going to be a great challenge to guys you know to to make sure that they wrap up grab cloth run their feet and get bodies in Pursuit around them Iowa doesn’t throw the ball a lot what do those tight ends give them Wrinkle in the passing game yeah I mean they they don’t throw the ball a lot cuz they ones don’t have to right I mean they they eat up time of possession and all that kind of stuff so but they they are a lead at at their Boot and naked game you I mean they get you going one way flowing and you get too many bodies over there and all of a sudden they’re throwing their boot leg game to those tight ends who are really skilled you look at them on third down and they’re throwing the ball to those tight ends you know what I mean so it’s going to be a challenge manto man right against our safeties and our linebackers to cover them up and then in zones you know that’s the cat and mouse game right like if you don’t get enough bodies to the run and to the stretch then they’re going to gash you but if you get too too crazy and you’re overp Pursuit now they got you on all the bootlegs and stuff like that that they do so really really highly efficient offense how do you prepare for the quarterback position just with they’ve made a couple changes and still been able to kind of keep some continuity yeah it’s system right I mean the it’s like with the the last couple weeks we’ve been seeing quarterback changes and all this kind of stuff who’s playing who’s not and the one thing you that is a little different here is that those systems where the quarterbacks uh were changing were more a little bit more like 50/50 to passing offenses and they relied on the Run game this Iowa Iowa’s going to run the ball you I mean they are going to run the ball especially if you let them and so um you know the quarterbacks are doing a good job of of managing the quarterbacks in their situations but we got to make sure that we we take care of the Run game first Elijah Elijah on the yeah that I was you know I see him practicing I don’t know what plays they’re running but uh um I’m just I’m just waiting to see if they ever get the ball you know I mean because they all think that they they all think that they can score touchdowns and do all this kind of stuff you know T night has them catching balls before the in the pre-practice drills and stuff and the first thing they want to do is go over there and and say hand me the ball but I saw the replay of Tai hitting I think their outside linebacker on the goal line there and he didn’t get up you I mean he did not get up so that’s kind of old vintage like hey you know we’re running the ball we know you you know that you’re running the ball and so like it’s man on man so it is awesome to see those guys get over there and play both ways so it’s cool how much do you enjoy just being part of a big Thanksgiving weekend type of Game trophy on the line all that stuff yeah this is college football right I mean Black Friday uh Thanksgiving National TV you got a you got a rivalry that’s one of the best in college football like this is college football this is why you come to Nebraska this is why you playing the Big 10 like this is this is truly like this is truly historic so I’m going to I’m going to soak it up I might have some gloves on but almost hook it up so Tony just what was Saturday like for you you mentioned the different feeling this week just getting a chance to see the guys and and getting that sixth win yeah it’s it’s pure joy like there was like an eruption after the game you know I mean there was there was a there it was It was kind of crazy because there was a calmness right the guys cheering on the offense the guys the whole team cheering on the Special Teams I saw the offensive guys cheering on the defense there was like this I don’t know there was just like this air of of you know confidence and want to and you know it started back from coach’s first meeting you know about going out there and putting yourself in position and and practiceing those things in the in the process and having confidence to go out there and do those things on the field so when it happened you just felt like wow this is this is it this is what it feels like right this is this is it right now so it was great to see those guys run straight over and grab that trophy you know I mean it’s just see the smiles like you saw guys crying Deshawn was crying you saw GIF you know with his hair flowing and stuff like that crying and you know I mean like that’s Joy man that’s that’s what you coach football for thank you thank you questions would you like did you like the progress from USC to wiscons yeah we won that’s that’s what that’s at the end of the day that’s what matters uh you know I give the all the credit in the world to you know starting at the top with Coach rule I mean I thought he did a great job of motivating the guys all week and getting them ready to go uh you know I look I look at it a little differently obviously just CU I just I just got here and you know it’s been a long season for these guys and and uh you know couple losses here and there they start stacking up all been through it but uh you know I saw a very motivated team uh practiced well and was uh was very energized as the week went on and you know game day was pretty special pretty spectac ular is first time I’ve experienced it on the home Sidelines but uh you know they were they were ready to play and uh got the win you know so I I know everybody’s excited about that and and hopefully it motivates everybody to want to do it again here this week position or element of the offense did you see the most Improvement in R you know everywhere honestly you know I sat up here a week ago and you know I don’t remember what I said but uh I felt encouraged uh I know Dylan said it you know felt encouraged and it kind of is hard to justify feeling encouraged when you score 13 points and you’re you’re you’re in a game that you can win and you don’t okay but uh it just felt good it felt better you know this is from people that said what it’s what it what it what it’s been like you know and so the players were excited about uh lining up and practicing and had a good week of practice went out there and played better I mean it is you know we we ran the ball better you know second week in a row I thought the line has played well Dylan’s been he hasn’t he hasn’t been hit a whole lot you know he feels good he’s getting better he’s processing things well uh we’re throwing and catching it better our receivers are in the right spots you know we improved in the Red Zone you know we lost that game at UFC because we couldn’t finish drives and then you know that was a a big focus last week and we we got five touchdowns in seven Red Zone attempts you know so moved the ball well uh just you know overall was was was was good Improvement you know and Wisconsin is a good football team um that’s the way it’s going to be every week in the Big 10 so you know we’re excited about taking another step you know it’s going it’s going to it’s it’s going to be harder we all know that uh I was a really good football team they played great defense they have for what’s it going on 25 years now uh you know I I remember my second year at Texas Tech 2001 we played Iowa in the Almo bowl and it’s the same thing you know 20 some years later it’s the same scheme same coach same everything this is this is crazy you know so um it it’s going to take another good effort and more Improvement to be able to you know go to Iowa and and and play in that atmosphere against a good football team what would you say the key’s been for EMT Johnson the last two weeks mean two really really strong games uh I think uh you know everything starts up front you know so the O L’s doing a good job tight ends are doing a good job I think we’re doing a good job as a staff scheming things uh and then and then just you give him as much credit as the rest of them I mean that he’s gaining confidence you know he’s he’s he’s been put in that role and and he’s taken advantage of his opportunity I don’t I don’t know what the touches were before I was here I didn’t go back and look at that I watched all the video but I didn’t study touches or anything but um he’s he’s certainly taken advantage of this opportunity you know he goes in there and he’s a different maker you he’s the offensive player of the week last last week and and uh and and played well you know so um you know just give him credit for the the amount of work that he’s putting in and and the attitude that he has he’s a great great young man and you know I just say this you know the the the the culture that coach Ru has here and the players the the you know I call it the give a crap level but uh just you know how much they care and how much they want to play enjoy playing enjoy practicing enjoy the the process allows me to coach the way I want to coach and and uh you know proud of him for how he’s been playing he’s been a huge spark here the last two weeks you talked about the culture I mean on the the coaching staff front as well I mean coming in here you never know how an existing group is going to react you know just how do you speak to just how they’ve welcomed you and made it an easy transition for a little bit of an understatement it was a rough week the first week was like I think everybody was like you know how’s this going to work you know I was starting with me and Coach ru’s office you know how’s this going to work I mean and we kind of worked through over the course of two three days and you know I started getting into the offensive room with those coaches and those coaches were looking at me crazy I’m like what are you doing here you know I mean that’s it’s just true you know each and every one of them were like okay you know and so we had to sit down and talk and start feeling things out and start working together and I I really thought give those give those assistant coaches a lot of credit man they just they didn’t bad and I you know I thought we were smart with how we handled I could have came here and changed specific things you know and that wouldn’t have been the right thing to do for the coaches for The Players and so I was the one that had to learn you know and it was a it was I ain’t gonna lie it was rough for about two weeks I’m sitting there you know uh with flashcards trying to learn offense and terminology and you know I know coach mentioned this yesterday it’s just true I mean I got Tongue Tied a few times in the game on Saturday and couldn’t get out I I knew what I wanted I just couldn’t like say it you know and so those coaches have to help me with it and I get better at it every day you know and so uh you know give those coaches a lot of credit for you know you know welcome welcoming me and and and working well together and I think we are working well together as game playing has been been great this week and went out there and had a good practice executed it and look forward to getting better tomorrow you able to add you been able to add much sorry okay have you been able to add much at all conceptually with what you with with what they’re doing a little bit here and a little bit there you know I me just they have everything in the Playbook I mean it’s it’s a very large Playbook you know and and and it’s you know I think I think it just goes back to you know coach rules been an NFL guy and and the offense has kind of stayed the same for for him and he’s added to it and added to it and sat’s added to it and you know then you got you got coach riola who’s an NFL guy who’s adding to it and and Glenn who’s an NFL guy that’s adding to it and so there’s just all kinds of ideas and stuff so that that that that Playbook got pretty big so you know I was just like look there’s only one sheet and whatever’s on the Sheet’s what’s going to get called and so you know that’s my job is to like take all the information from everybody they all give me ideas you know they they ask me if this is too much didn’t let me know and I go I promise you I’ll let you know and so they give me all your ideas and I’m going to organize it to where to where I know where things are and I know we’ve rept them and I know we’re good at it uh and if that’s not the case then I take them off the sheet and they’re not going to get called so we probably shouldn’t Focus On th those calls and practice you know so uh we’ve done a good job of coming together and and and coming up with with the plan of of what makes sense to our players and what if it don’t make sense to me it ain’t going to make sense to them and so um I think that part’s been good back to the language acquisition when was the last time you had to learn like a brand new language that you weren’t familiar with I think uh when I was in college at at Iowa Wesley and um you know I played in the air raid and so that that t mummy Mike Leech uh you know for a couple years um you know at iow Wesley and then I went to Val Austin it was the same offense and then I broke away and it was that was my offense and I’ve changed my offense over the course of years that’s 35 years ago probably and high school was probably a different offense and I I do think when they developed the air raid I think they looked at like a pro style offense and said we’re going to do everything different than that you know so learning the air rid I I promise you everything’s different and so it’s it’s been good for me it’s one reason why I wanted to come is to challenge myself to do that it’s one reason why I wanted to go to TCU at the beginning of the year is to sit in a defensive room and challenge myself you know and so it’s been good you know at the end of the day there’s only 11 people out there uh but it has been it’s been a long time it’s a more recent rivalry but uh any Nostalgia or enjoyment of being an Iowa guy in the Nebraska Iowa game no not really no disrespect I just I grew up a Hawkeye fan but that was 35 years ago you know you know and a great deal of respect for coach faren and you know I I obviously followed it just growing up uh being I followed it when Bob Stoops was was interviewing for Iowa and took Oklahoma and then you know coach ference you know took the job we played him in 2001 and so you know haven’t competed against them or or been around it for 22 years so to speak so you know I know what they’ve done what they’ve accomplished I know kenck Stadium’s a you know a great place and they have tremendous fan support and they’re right on top of you and it’s loud and it’s going to be wild besides his obvious gifts what stands out about uh jakori Barney and just what has made him successful as a freshman well he’s a fun kid to be around that I noticed that like that you know and so you know just his personality’s uh is is infectious he’s he’s he’s fun to be around um you know he works hard um you he had two or three really good practices when I first got here and then he his back started tightening up and I was like man I guess you’re not what I thought you were you know and then a week later he snapped out of it and he’s been good for for two weeks uh works hard practices hard uh understands you know you know football the offense how to line up um you know we were probably playing you know people in too many different spots you know I was like so why is he here on this play and he’s there on the another play and then he’s and so they’re just kind of moving people around too much and that’s one thing I’ve always believed in and being being a receiver coach is you settle people in at spots and you let them get comfortable and that reduces the thinking and they can they can go out there and they can just play you know and so I’ve noticed that with him over the course of the last couple of weeks uh you know just being more familiar and understanding kind of where to line up and what to do uh my job is to take the thinking out of it for these guys you know um just a freshman man you know I I told him and I hate to I hesitate to say this but uh I I told him you have some tank Dell in you because he does I mean he’s not very big he’s Twitchy you know he can run he’s got good ball skills uh it took tank probably three four years uh to be able to be in that mindset you know and now he’s doing it at the NFL level this kid’s a freshman you know when tank was a freshman he was at Alabama A&M you know and so then he went Joo you know and then I got him and a couple years later he is what he was but he’s he’s got that kind of ability you know and and look forward to coaching him hard here over the next couple games see where we’re at I’m sure that it’s been pretty day by day man hey how are you good you doing all right doing well um recognize you were here last week joking um I’m sure it’s been pretty dayby day for you since you got here after this last game you’re used to going doing in homes they don’t do that now do you know what you’re doing next week no uh you recruiting the portal or what’s what’s head for you I I’m taking Saturday off um that’s the only thing I know um I will probably dig into that on Sunday um you know I said this last week I we don’t know what what we don’t know yet I mean this is like I don’t want to talk about it I don’t want to know what what’s next I know I told Coach Ru I promise you I will put my head down and and get after USC and then get after Wisconsin and then get after Iowa and then we’ll figure out where we’re at there’s a ball game on the horizon you know which everybody’s excited about I I I I know uh I know I know coach is excited about you know the developmental practices and that’s that’s going to take place and I look forward to you know 14 15 practices whatever it is now it which is new because like like Bull games when recruiting was taking up 90% of your time I I sat in front of the media you know complaining about Bull games because you really couldn’t practice I mean you’re out in the road recruiting you got to deal with finals you sometimes you play the game on December 15th I mean when are you going to practice you know we you know the last three or four bowl games that I’ve been to we literally practiced five times you know it was a game week you know and so I think that’s going to be a little bit different now because of the rules and stuff and you know I I know we’ll take advantage of the developmental stuff which is going to be awesome because there’s a bunch of freshman receivers that I don’t even know who they are it’s honestly I mean I don’t I don’t I haven’t coached them yet you know and so I look forward to doing that um you know as far as what’s next I don’t know I’m taking Saturday off you heard me season I ain’t coming in I I I did uh I I I I kind of relaxed a little bit last week so my family came in town had a lot of people here you know so we had a little bit of downtime and stuff so that was pretty cool and then you know after the game we we all celebrated you know so that was pretty cool and then back to work Sunday morning Dan what did you see from the tight end position um just where Nate borer Luke Lyn and Meyer were getting in there a lot last week and conversely fedon maybe not having a lot of snaps yeah that that’s that’s you know that’s I I took that Approach at every position I mean I know everybody wants to talk about the tight end position because of of what happened on Saturday but that that’s been the case at every single position it’s about competition you know and and competition makes people better and so we’re trying to develop competition at every single position um you know I do think that the tight ends have improved you know especially Nate and Luke they have improved you know because I said what I said if you know I don’t care who’s played or who’s the starter if you if you’re if if if if you’re not performing at the level I need you to perform at based on what looks like in practice then we’re going to change it and that that position has been changed based on the fact that that that Nate and Luke have have have really done a nice job okay now I think that motivated Thomas Thomas just had the best practice he’s had since I’ve been here you know and so I you know appreciate his attitude and his understanding and he just he lined up and he practiced hard for two days and so I would anticipate him going in there making plays on Saturday hey outside of that conversation about what’s going on here next month or next year can you just speak to from your aspirations what how do you do you want to get back to the place where you’re a head coach again at the college level I I’m happy being here right now I’m I love what I’m doing uh I had more fun on Saturday than I’ve had in a long time you know I mean there’s there’s an element of being head coach 13 years not being able to enjoy it like I did on Saturday you know my history is calling offensive plays and offensive football and I really enjoy it a lot you know and so I don’t know I ain’t going to think about it I ain’t going to worry about it you know I’m happy here and appreciate the opportunity you know that that coach gave me uh making the most of it you know uh learning a lot learning a lot from from coach rule as far as how he’s running the program I’m not going to answer the question as far as what I want to do next just to be clear though you you’re you know we can call plays in a bowl game I yeah I mean that that’s the plan you know I I know I mean uh you know my my plan to focus on Iowa and try to beat Iowa and then see what happens after that thank e Mark kru mentioned you were one of the guys who said you wanted to run it back next year um is that the case in what what went into process for you it was a lot going into that but it was really just like talking to my mom and stuff so I’m going to come back and try to get my masters and also the football side of it kind of just seeing where I landed with the league and everything what’s your Masters in uh criminal justice hey can you can you kind of put in perspective how what that’s like for you considering that two years ago when coach got here like you know first thing you did was you went in the portal and then you know obviously he got you to come out and and how now you’re here graduated you know you could you could move on and you’re choosing to come back to play for him for a third year uh really it just says a lot about him as a person you know cuz I kind of went in the portal as I said it was kind of a panic move cuz I didn’t know like what to expect but I’ve seen my growth as a player and I just want to give it another year why have so many players wanted to stay even last year not very many guys left willingly what what is it about Nebraska that and the staff and the culture that has people wanting to stay I mean it’s just a it’s a different vibe you know it’s more like family oriented but you eat what you kill in the program so if you produce you’re going to play what did Saturday uh I know you’re looking ahead but just what did it mean to get that six win out of the way and now you can you can push forward off of that I feel like it was a big step for this program because you know last year we kind of got stuck at the five five win hump so to kind of get over that hump it kind of felt as a relief and now we know that we can do it so it’s just playing balls out now what what what might that mean going forward just playing Iowa like what different level of confidence do you guys have now I mean we always had the confidence is just going out playing our game you know doing what we do in practice what stands out to you about Iowa’s offensive line again they’re very physical up front and as you know they have one of the probably the best back in the Big 10 so just bringing that physicality that we know they’re going to bring I mean just playing our game what you see what you see on Saturday as far as the emotions and Leadership that this defense got from the guys who were playing their last home game Tai and Nash in particular that who who you’re up front with I mean they kind of treated it as it was just like any other game they try not to make it about themselves which I respect cuz you know that’s probably their last game in Memorial so just seeing them still pour into us with all the emotion going into that game it meant a lot thank you thank you e e hey questions MJ how can uh this team you know build off a Saturday and got that six win you know just push off of that in Friday’s game uh I mean I said to my family not too long ago that um it we in it’s it’s kind of funny we in a similar situation we were in last year um but we kind of did that part earlier than last year so I feel like the goal this week is kind of play free of mind and approach this week like another work week the same way we approach Wisconsin the same way we got to approach this week and honestly like I felt felt amongst the team last week it wasn’t really just oh we got to make B eligibility it was like we got to beat the man in front of us so if we approach the week this week last week like we did this week I feel like we would just be just fine you’ve been part of championship teams but what satisfaction have you gotten out of this Nebraska Journey you know and and helping build something um I mean what’s more satisfying than winning with your teammates that’s really what it is man just winning with your brothers all the work and preparation you had throughout throughout the week and Saturday you get the re rewards that’s the satisfaction of it um nothing more nothing less with that there’s a lot of seniors on that defensive side what’s it meant to you for two years to play with that Core group of guys I kind of touched on this ear early in the season man and like guys like GIF Nash Tai Maris Deshawn you know those guys it’s going I’m going to miss playing with them boys man and you just you know these last this last week of preparation and going to the bow game is it’s going to be one of those one of those things things we got to Cherish cuz you know we’ll never know if we’re going to play on the same team again and I love them boys to death and I know they have to feel the same way to me about me so it’s it’s a lot of words I can say but I can’t say it right now but I’m going miss them and I love them with all my heart have portal season opening next month for when you think back on your time and and how why you chose Nebraska what went into that decision for you why was Nebraska an attractive place to finish your career I mean I get I get this question I asked so many times man I’m same same um same answer man just want an opportunity uh never look for all the fancy stuff that may come in contracts or whatnot or MoneyWise just just want an opportunity to play football man and just be who I am and be a football player and you know trans support it opening up yeah it could be stressful for people you know looking for somewhere they can call home but once again you just got to go somewhere where you cherish and love and then it w give you an opportunity I mean ain’t nothing there’s no better feeling when everything’s controllable is in your hands and you get to use what’s in your hands and to propel yourself and it’s up to you not not not not anything else but up to you to see how your future unfolds and that’s what’s here that’s what my been my journey here in Nebraska and if I take on everything head head first and full on with all my energy good things will come out I mean you reap what you sell what was your sense of the Nebraska Iowa rivalry when you played in for the first time I didn’t understand it at first but now I do so yeah how would you describe it how would you describe rivalry again like is it I mean is there you know sometimes Rivals are kind kind of bad blood sometimes there’s respect like how would you describe it just like just got to beat the man in front of you dog I mean it’s like yeah I mean that’s as I said like we got to approach this week as a work week obviously yeah there’s Pride on the line obviously there’s like there’s tradition history that goes on between two schools but end of the day got to approach as a work week end of the day got to win you one on once end day you got to complete your assignment execute your assignment and make plays so that’s the bottom line when it comes to every football game rivalry or not how have you seen those younger players at your position Road this season I love it oh shoot I mean we’ve been much as we’ve been harping on Willis and on P will and a lot of those other guys we always celebrate their achievements you know and I just love it man it’s really good when you have success in that room it’s really good seeing your coach like Jack you know see the see the work that been put in and have the output you know it’s really good having you know giving giving him that satisfaction like okay yeah what we’re doing is working so you know that goes for teite as well and that goes for T white as well you know the system that we in the defense that we run the preparation that we have throughout the week it shows that it works you know just imprint all of us you know with Willis and you know it gives gives us confidence it gives us motivation if Willis go out there get a pressure then and it’s my turn I know I got to get a sack it’s one of those things you know it’s just we feed off each other and there’s nothing more nothing better than that MJ Tony said that some of the younger guys really kind of bought in to last week’s rivalry game with Wisconsin and and that’s kind of ramped up a notch do you feel like that’s kind of a reflection of the growth that you that you’ve seen in them in that buyin I mean yeah but I really say that once again we kind of approached that week like a work week yeah we was told about the Rivalry yeah we told about the you know the blood that’s in between us and everything else like that and the tradition and history but once again we approached that week like a work week we didn’t care if what what team that line up across of us across from us we was going through a little bit of a stretch where we was losing and we just needed that win no matter who it was okay thanks Andre thank you e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e Dylan what have you kind of heard about the uh Nebraska Iowa rivalry from some of the older guys um serious rivalry um taking taken uh away back and um be electric uh Friday night last game at their place um be be a good scene once once you guys have a game like that on Saturday how much excitement do you have to just kind of see what what more you can do in this next game yeah it’s even better when you watch the tape and there’s things that you that you wish you could do could do better and um yeah we’re excited um we’re kind of kind of just just back at square one um kind of getting ready for the next team and and kind of putting that behind us so um we’re we’re we’ll be excited and ready to go for for this game on Friday your dad reminded you that he hadn’t lost to Colorado and you remind you about Iowa too no he didn’t remind me about Iowa I have to ask him but um yeah we’ll just start one and0 against him yeah how helpful was another week working with Coach hogerson it was really helpful um just just kind of building that relationship um kind of understanding what he wants to call when he wants to call it and um just being around him um I think for everyone on the offense got more comfortable and you can kind of see that as we as we kept kept progressing throughout the game is it to play quarter back on like a 20 some degree day or is it more just wind related that affects you or how do you look at that yeah I think just the win um luckily we live in Nebraska so we can we can practice in the cold when we’re going to play in the cold um it’s not like we’re Florida and we got to come up and play in the cold so we’ve had two days where it’s been pretty cold outside um with some wind so um it’s actually been colder than we expected to be on on Friday so there’s there’s no there’s no effect we’re not calling anything any different um the silin will be taken care of and and things like that so we’ll be good prefer uh I mean I just wear a hand warmer that has a has a beam electric beam inside of it and um yeah my my hands don’t really get too cold yeah yeah what do you think of Iowa’s defense what jumps out you about what’s good about them yeah they’re their coach their head coach and coordinator have been together since I was even born so um obviously a lot of experience um and then they play they play very sound they play very well together um you know with with it being the last game you can kind of see them get better and and continue to progress each week so um we we’ll have to be ready for anything that that they have ready for us and um you know it’ll be it’ll be fun game and and handle handle our business Dyan how has Dana kind of inspired competition and practice and pushed you guys yeah it’s it’s it’s a constant Challenge from from us to the receivers to the old line um you know you got to continue to get better each day um and and and kind of said like there there’s not a lot of teams like getting better throughout the season so if you can kind of find a way to to to be that be that team that’s getting better and progressing um you kind of you kind of get that one up so um yeah the challenges is is every day for everybody on the team so um we just got to keep keep taking those challenges and and getting better with it are you seeing that that Improvement as the season’s going on yeah absolutely absolutely thanks thanks e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e
