in on to the semi-final more on the draw in just a minute as we welcome in Frank Leu about this game uh we also have Yan AGA fatov as well so let me start with you Yan that turned out to be quite the dramatic game in the end with a lot of goalkeeping Errors yes and I’m just wondering which what kind of metaphor I should use I mean there Christmas time is they give presents away or is this the worst in in total in total two goalkeepers Maybe is the worst keeper performance I’ve ever seen in my life I saw that Pat Jennings was in the stand the old keeper Legend I’m 100% sure that he would have been better in goal for Tottenham today because the errors forer is doing it’s unbelievable but I think Stevie the right thing because when you do the first mistake you just got it you you get it you you were so nervous and there was no self-confidence and the and the thing that he did with his leg was like like I I couldn’t believe my eyes it was very very spur but it wasn’t that spury that they they came through and now they have a chance for a silverware can you believe that and poog was having a bit of a giggle afterwards Frank stay wouldn’t you rather see this than just a boring one [Laughter] nil yeah exactly I mean that was a a hell of a second half I would say and after the 3-0 I say okay game over we can almost switch off the TV but that’s we forgot that I forgot that I was watching an English game and everything can happen and that’s that was absolutely crazy and uh and I didn’t expect that that was quite a full I don’t know why also the Spurs Defenders they try to give the ball to Foster after when you know that your goalkeeper is not in the best mood I would say in that way in that matter and and I saw also there was a a goal kick uh at a certain point and they tried to play from the back again and I say it’s unbelievable the guy all over the place and they and they try they try toh to play again from the back so it’s it’s not it’s they have to grow up a little bit sometime they have to take decision it’s not only what the coach wants but it’s all also what you feel and definitely The Defenders they didn’t feel anything they didn’t care about what Foster was going through then on the other hand for me yes uh there was a foul on the on the on the Manchester United goalkeeper I agree with uh with um with Stevie yes the goalkeeper should be stronger but it’s not a rule the rule is when the goalkeeper is in the air hold on when the goalkeeper is in the air you you cannot touch the goalkeeper that’s the rule and don’t tell me it’s English football no it’s a rule everywhere in the world when the goalkeeper in the air you cannot touch especially his arms and it’s what happened with uh with the with the bval I think he made a he made a F yeah we’re going to just hold that because we do want to go back to that moment because I know that a few of you are going to disagree on that we want to get to that I just want to get Stevie’s thoughts because the funny thing is watching it with Stevie is he started off sitting down really cheerly in his suit and by the end of that game he stood on his feet he couldn’t even sit down watching it well I couldn’t believe what I was watching listen it’s it’s entertaining there’s no question and would you rather watch a nil nil or a 1 nil as an said of course you wouldn’t but from a football point of you oh my goodness where do you start do you talk about United do you talk about Spurs do you talk about the goalkeepers I mean well what your overriding takeway I’ll tell you what I want to talk about is when SP were at 32 they took off marison and put burval in the middle to sit and from there they absolutely looked as though they had no idea what to do in terms of Defending bervar was making runs in behind when he’s brought to try and solidify things nobody’s talking to him he’s only a kid nobody’s telling him to hold a position and as a unit SP had no idea how to defend it was absolutely alien to them and so we’ve been talking since an got here about having a plan B and yet again in this game when you’re 3-2 up and you have to be solid they had no idea they had no plan B and that’s why when Frank’s talking about they kept passing out from the back still that’s because they only have one way of playing and they really do only have one thing and one idea and one thought and this is what we’re going to do and then when it doesn’t work it’s it’s almost it’s almost like Andre’s going you know what we’ll take a chances that’s that’s no way to go really to be safe and to go and win games because I know when going back to the goalkeepers another thing you said was that the goals had come for the sides but it wasn’t really even their their good work that had earned them the goals listen man united have scored five goals in the last two games and there’s only one of them been down to them that was Johnny Evans the other four have been gifts CU you was saying at Christmas so yeah yeah I mean man united they’ scored three goals scor three goals but really have they scored three goals Tottenham yeah sorry Stevie what do you think about the fact that imagine at you on your at your time your goalkeeper when I made one first mistake don’t you think that any of the leaders should have come to see him and to start to you know make sure that he goes back to the game and and he’s not lost and he and he can feel the support of his teammate I felt I saw Roberts who didn’t care about the fact that goke keeper made a mistake the captain son didn’t go to see the keeper I would have gone to see the keeper say my man that’s okay with 3-1 that’s okay go back to the game you made one mistake but it’s okay we’re with you we’re going to deal with you I didn’t feel anything of that that’s very strange for me and I see yeah sorry I see any time of that in every team’s where I can feel that goalkeeper or Defender makes a mistakes nobody cares I think that is a fair point Frank and you you you sometimes miss that when people do a mistake like the goalkeeper doing that but I’m I’m a bit other because the dialog goal there is a back pass to the goalkeeper to give him a bit self-confidence you you be there a 40 pass he got more as he got unbelievable time and he have the time then to to re re what do you say restrain or get his his self-confidence back but and and to Stevie’s point if I may say that Posta Cola doesn’t have a a plan B always but he can’t plan where that forer had a plan panic because you what can you do as a coach what are you going to do as a coach when you do two of those mistakes and I think that we can put to bed all these discussions about Rya was wrong to Arsenal to have two good goalkeepers or Liverpool having two good co goalkeepers in kellerer look what’s going on can you imagine if the goalkeepers are in in clubs like won’t have a second goalkeeper they could be relegated I mean this is this is just amazing to have a look at that in one position on the pitch you couldn’t have two good you always have to have a weaker one but you know Frank’s talking about game management and that’s the game Management on the field is to do with the experienced players they they’re the ones who straight away should be saying to everybody right for the next 10 minutes 15 minutes whatever it is keep the ball away from the goalkeeper let them get settled again you know the last thing FR of foster once is a pass to him two seconds after he’s already made such a blunder I was talking about the fog I’ll tell you what you’re just doubling down so you keep the ball away from the guy but that at this level of football that shouldn’t be that difficult to work out but as I said it’s again another another look at SPS of how they actually don’t have any clue how to go about it other than the way they do yeah but but but Stevie Stevie I’m just I just go a small Point again don’t you think they gave him that confidence to give him the ball and all these teams all these team want to play out from the back and then you say they shouldn’t give him the ball he doesn’t give the ball to no he doesn’t give the ball I don’t think gray is very young I don’t think he’s giving the ball to Foster to regain confidence he give the ball because he’s been told that in case there is a problem he give the ball to the goalkeeper and it’s what is automatically doing that’s the only thing he does and he doesn’t think through is is is in inexperience he’s a very young player but he should have been told to not give the ball to the goalkeeper but we have to discuss that the goalkeepers we are talking about we see all modern coaches they want to play out from the back and the goalkeeper is certainly the France Becken Bower of football now lately and and now we say if if they do one if they do one big mistake keep it away from them I mean it doesn’t add up does it it’s it’s I would suggest that the I would suggest that that is the perfect scenario that all the teams in the Premier League are the top teams have two fantastic goalkeepers that isn’t possible it’s not always possible you know Liverpool have been lucky with K that he’s come through then they’ve signed the they’ve signed the uh the guy who’s coming next week Kash yeah so I I think that is more to do with that’s more to do with it’s just so happened that there’s two or three teams that have got two proper goalkeepers not every can do that they just can’t do it why why why why why well because number one if you’re a decent goalkeeper you aren going to go to you aren’t going to go to Tottenham when the when when they’ve got the the number one goalkeeper and you know you’re going to sit on the bench unless you’re a young guy a young guy who’s coming through what’s the difference on otherwise you’re not going what’s the difference what’s the difference with what for Striker a young striker shouldn’t go to to Liverpool because Salah is playing all the time then no you you’re not being fair you’re not being fair you know that if you’re goalkeeper it’s a different matter and chances to in a way that you cannot play every game if you’re a second goalkeeper you’re going to be on the bench for the season well if you’re another Striker you will have the chance to come on for different reasons so you cannot compare that positioning especially goalkeeper it’s a very specific uh positioning and being a second goalkeeper doesn’t give you a chance to operate and that’s what it is and it’s why I agree with Stevie if you’re decent even a well if you’re a good goalkeeper you’re not going to go on the bench even if it’s for Spurs or even Liverpool
