that people should be excited to see but every tournament it feels like maybe we have some guy that kind of like surprises people or or is a breakout is there a player that you guys see maybe having that potential that with so many big names just maybe isn’t getting talked about enough heading into this tournament that could really turn some heads uh you know I know Ryan mentioned a bunch of names for me it’s you know it really is Gavin McKenna like the guy he turned 17 years old I believe tomorrow like as we’re talking about this think his birthday is on De 20th and only like you know half dozen or more I think seven players have been younger when making their debut for King Team Canada and you know you look at you know the comparisons that are probably going to fly throughout the tournament like McDavid had 11 points at that age badart obviously set records with you know 23 points and was named MVP and you know those are lofty goals for a guy that you know I don’t know where he’s going to fit into the lineup but you know you know for a guy who’s going to be probably the number one overall pick a year from now now I guess maybe a year and a half from now um you know all eyes are going to be on okay is he the next fill in the blank and you know we’ll see um I hope so because you know that’s what the world juniors are for me it’s not about the you know the 18 19 year olds it’s the you know future stars of tomorrow when I say future I mean like tomorrow’s like years from now right right yeah for me I’ll uh I’ll go over to Europe for this one two players come to mind uh one is Victor Eckland uh for Sweden a 2025 draft prospect and the younger brother of William Eckland from the San Jose Sharks uh and then Miroslav hinka from the checks uh he’s playing in the dub for the Edmonton Oil Kings uh and got off to a fantastic start he’s a Toronto Maple Leafs pick I think he has the opportunity to you know sort of continue those early Good Vibes and the fact that he he’s done it on North American ice you know the smaller ring I think that really helps and you know the checks are going to be very intriguing this year so hinka could be one of those guys that piles up a bunch of points
