yo what is going on headliner Nation it’s your boy the doc and we are back for the week 15 injury update show first week of the fantasy playoffs for a lot of people so hopefully you guys made the playoffs but you guys know the deal by now each and every week I an actual doctor go through the NFL slate tell you about all the injuries that you need to know about for your fantasy playoff matchups this week and we’ve got a lot of injuries to talk about so let’s jump into it as you guys know we did have a Thursday night matchup a pretty disappointing matchup for the Rams and 49ers hopefully you guys didn’t have a ton of guys from that game because just not a lot of scoring to go around no actual touchdowns in that game which was a huge disappointment but we’re not going to spend a lot of time on players from those teams because that game’s already been played now we did have a few players that were placed on IR this week again players placed on IR at this point in the season are basically done for the year you can pretty safely drop them from your fantasy teams to try to pick up somebody that might be able to contribute at some point during the fantasy playoffs Jonathan Brooks probably the biggest injury of last week raring his ACL tear from last season in college same injury same knee almost exactly a year apart 13 months apart really really bad situation for Jonathan Brooks hopefully he is able to return at some point next year year but I would not be surprised if the team opted to give him an entire year off given they did have him play this season and he retor his ACL huge disappointment for him and for anybody that has him in a dynasty league but again can be safely dropped at this point in redraft based on that ACL tear Tamm Hill also confirmed with his ACL tear he’s done for the year and then Dallas GD has a knee sprain but has been put on IR again not expecting him to come back during the fantasy playoffs all three of those guys can be safely dropped off of your rosters next up I’m actually going to start with the teams that play on Monday night because those are the injuries that I think we have the least amount of information on right now we actually have two Monday Night Football games first up bears at the Vikings and then Falcons at the Raiders now they have a ton of injuries in these two games so I’m going to try to go through them all quickly first up running back Alexander Madison has an anchor sprain he got a full practice in on Thursday he’s on track to play this week but I do expect that sincere McCormack is going to continue to get opportunities he’s been their most efficient running back so far this season averaging over five yards a carry so even with Madison back I think sincere McCormack should continue to get quite a bit of run in that offense wide receiver jacobe Myers has an ankle injury couldn’t really find anything on this to indicate that it’s a new issue he’s still getting limited work due to the ankle injury that he had earlier this season he’s been playing through it he’s had over 10 Targets in four of his last five games I’d expect that to continue this week not too worried about jacobe Meyers quarterback a o Connell dealing with a bone bruise in the knee this actually looked a lot worse than it ended up being they air casted him and carded him off the field usually that’s a sign of a pretty major knee injury but he avoided that just has a bone bruise he does have an extra day to get ready because they play on Monday night but I’m not really trusting him at all to be ready from a fantasy perspective find a different quarterback if you were planning on starting Aiden o Connell also how did you make the playoffs starting Aiden oconnell I would love to know wide receiver Darnell Mooney has a foot injury this is more of just a PSA that he’s on the report couldn’t find anything to indicate this is a major issue or there’s in any serious danger of missing this game but just know he did show up on the injury report with a foot issue and he did not have that before this week running back Aaron Jones has a back injury he was limited this week as well mostly another PSA with Jones I’m not too worried about it he’s coming off a really another a really another another strong showing last week where he scored a touchdown still very involved in the Vikings offense that is putting up a ton of points right now so again not too worried about Aaron Jones but one running back I am worried about on Monday night is DeAndre Swift he has a groin injury he’s been largely ineffective over for the last 3 weeks since he picked up a quad injury so different issues here in backto back weeks now with this groin injury though I am worried that this is something that could cause him to miss time and if you’re planning on starting him you absolutely need to have a backup ready for DeAndre Swift I’d strongly consider pulling him out of my lineups if you haven’t already or if you have an option that is better if you’ve got more depth at the running back position don’t be afraid to sit DeAndre Swift this week very risky start with him picking up a new injury and playing on Monday night next up we’re going straight to the quarterbacks and the first guy we need to talk about is Justin Herbert dealing with an ankle sprain and a thigh contusion while technically he has two injuries it’s really the ankle that we’re worried about I think that’s the one that’s going to affect him the most he has started develop a little bit of a history of picking up these ankle injuries I have noticed watching him play this year the guy does not like to avoid hits he does run out of bounds that often have to wonder if the team will start pressing him to be a little bit more careful with the hits that he takes and the amount of times he just lets guys get a hold of his foot or ankle and twist him up we’ve seen this a few times now already in his career I do think that some of his play style and his effort trying to get more yards does put him at a little bit more risk than other quarterbacks for these types of injuries but it does sound like he’s going to try to play through this it affects his rushing upside more than his passing upside and he does say that he plans on playing but I would not be surprised if this decision is one that comes down to the wire now quarterback Derek Carr on the other hand he has a leftand fracture and a concussion has not practice yet this week the fractur is in his non-throwing hand but he still has to be able to grip the ball and hold on to it and use that hand so I would not be surprised if he is not able to play through this Jake Kaner actually came in and filled in for him last week but I think Spencer Rattler has just as good of a chance of starting this week he started a few games earlier this year and he’s a lot younger I wouldn’t be surprised if they let Spencer Rattler get a chance to start again if Derek Carr can’t go which is looking very likely and then we’ve got quarterback Joe burrow with his wrist and knee injuries has been practicing in a limited capacity but it’s never a good thing to see the qb3 on the injury report heading into the fantasy playoffs but what I could gather there’s not a whole lot of concern that he won’t be able to play this week he’s in your lineup as long as he is going to be active it does sound like this is not a very big issue and I would expect him to be able to play for your fantasy team moving on to the wide receiver position first up we’ve got Justin Herbert’s number one option lad makoni now he’s dealing with knee and shoulder issues has been limited this week and normally those back-to-back limited practices are a good sign but he actually got three Limited practi I is in last week before ultimately missing the game like Herbert he’s got a history of being kind of nicked up at this point dating back to college so I’m not surprised to see lad Maki ending up on the injury report just something that he’s done throughout his career never anything serious but picking up those little injuries here and there just by the way he plays he takes a lot of hits he’s not afraid of going over the middle and so he’s going to pick up more injuries than wide receivers that protect their body a little bit better but if he does get a full practi in on Friday I’m more confident that he will be fine this week but if he’s limited again I’m not going to guarantee that he is going to go going to have to keep an eye on him down to the wire moving on to wide receiver Jaylen Wadd he’s got a hamstring injury limited practices so far this week he’s been limited again in practice but that doesn’t appear to be a major issue played 82% of the team’s offensive snaps last week he’s on his best three-game stretch of the season he’s a pretty solid Flex option if he’s able to go this week and it doesn’t look like he’s in much danger of missing this game moving on to wide receiver Mike Evans he’s got a hamstring injury has not practiced yet this week but he’s been doing that the last two or three weeks so we’re not super concerned about Mike Evans I didn’t see anything to indicate that he reinjured his hamstring from earlier in the season but given his history we’re still paying a close attention to it as the weekend comes forward and I do think that Mike Evans again pretty solid start the team’s very much still in playoff contention and he’s still able to put up big numbers even if he doesn’t get a lot of practice time it sounds like this is just more mandatory rest given his history and his age and the fact that he’s had this injury already this season moving on to wide receiver Malik neighbors he has hip and groin injuries same issue different week for Malik neighbors he’s had these groin issues SL hiip issues for the last month or so he says this injury dates back to college but it’s really hampered him this first year actually kind of surprised that the Giants haven’t shut Malik neighbors down yet I think he’s going to keep playing through this as long as they will let him and if they’re going to let him keep playing you’re going to keep putting him in your lineup cuz he is still good for consistent targets even if he is not in the greatest offense in the world now last wide receiver to talk about here George Pickins dealing with his own hamstring injury has not practiced yet this week and this injury is pretty frustrating for someone who had George Pickins in a lot of lineups last week and actually didn’t get him out of a couple of lineups where I needed him to be out of the lineups when he wasn’t playing uh was out of town and was driving last Sunday and just didn’t get him out of my lineup so even a guy who’s doing this professionally can make mistakes in terms of getting injured players out which just shows you how chaotic this year has been from an injury perspective but again little disappointing to see the Steelers kind of pull the rug out from under us last minute what’s even more frustrating is that during that decision this was called a game time decision but is now considered a week to week injury after testing on the hamstring they’ve done in MRI it’s a higher grade string than they thought and so we’re not going to see George Pickins for a little while and the Steelers are winning a ton of games so if they keep winning and lock in a playoff spot I would not be surprised if George Pickins Miss misses even more time you need to find a long-term replacement form for the fantasy playoffs shifting gears here to the running backs and first up we got running back Kenneth Walker thei with a calf strain has not practiced yet this week he had more tests done on his calf which isn’t usually a good sign that things are going well in his recovery Zack shanet will look to continue to build off probably the best game of his career so far after last week’s big performance Walker is someone I’m actively looking to trade for in Dynasty leagues if he’s on a team that’s trying to win in the playoffs and I’m a team that’s already been booted out and your league allows that type of thing Kenneth Walker even though he’s had a bad season so far this year still a guy that I’m looking to acquire in those Dynasty leagues he’s still young still has a lot of potential just kind of having a rough year from an injury perspective at this point and again even though he doesn’t look like he’s going to be able to play this week it’s still somebody that you’re not dropping off of your fantasy team just yet because it does sound like if he misses this week it’s not a multiple week injury it’s not something that should keep him out the entire fantasy playoffs so you’re still holding on to him if you’ve got him and you’re in the playoffs now as for Alvin Kamar he’s got an illness and so has not been practicing yet this week and technically an illness isn’t an injury but it’s worth knowing that he has not practiced yet this week if you’re planning on starting Alvin Kamar in fantasy make sure you’re checking out his practice report on Friday when this video drops to see if he is practicing yet see if he is recovering from this illness illness can be tricky because you don’t really know what the guy’s dealing with if it’s something major like the flu he could be considerably hampered in his return especially if he’s losing a lot of weight we see that every so often especially this time of year where a guy gets the flu or the stomach flu and ends up missing uh considerable amounts of time during the week and then they come back and yeah they play but they’re 10 lbs lighter than they used to be and they just don’t have the energy or the juice that they would normally play with and you don’t want to risk that for a fantasy playoff matchup especially with a guy like Alvin Kamar that can be kind of Hit or Miss either way uh again illness not usually something that makes a player Miss but it is something that we’re paying attention to when it comes to making decisions if you’re picking between two players know that Alvin Kamar is sick this week heading over to running back Tony Pard and an ankle injury has not practiced yet this week but was the only offensive player for the Titans to have a decent week last week rush for over 100 yards couldn’t really find any evidence of a new injury so it’s most likely something that is just expected to be rest for Tony po he’s had an ankle injury already this year I’m not too concerned about this one let’s talk about running back Bucky Irving for the bucks now he has hip and back issues has not practiced yet this week and the problem with a back injury is that you never really know when they’re going to get irritated again it was just as likely that he played all week last week as what ended up happening which is his back got irritated in the first quarter and he ultimately didn’t really do much for your fantasy team I’m really sorry if you started Bucky Irving last week and that happened to you there’s no way for me to know when these guys are going to get irritated when the back will Spas them again and it’s hard because you’re playing with a very risky situation where there’s just as good a chance that he’s perfectly healthy the whole game as he can’t make it through the first quarter so uh sadly we saw the bad end of that last week I would not be surprised if they shut down Bucky Irving for this game given the setback in his back injury last week while it’s not ideal for anybody that’s been riding high with Bucky Irving it does bring new life into Rashad White’s fantasy role he is becoming more valuable by the week if Bucky Irving can’t play so if Bucky Irving is ruled out early in the weekend make sure that you’re throwing Rashad white into your lineups and then finally last running back that we need to talk about maybe the biggest fantasy implication running back that’s Bree Hall with a knee injury backtack dmps to start the week the Jets can’t make the playoffs at this point and their star running back is tweaked his knee that he’s already had surgically repaired once I’m not saying that they will but this is a situation where I would not be surprised if they absolutely shut him down for the rest of the season really disappointing year for anybody that drafted Breeze Hall as their number one running back probably had to take him as the first or second running back off the board this year just not a good season if you did that because the Jets were a total mess which I think maybe possibly we could have predicted and finally let’s talk about the tight ends first up we got TR McBride now I couldn’t find any evidence of a knee injury but he has been limited so far this week in practice we know that teams are being exceptionally deceptive on the injury reports so this could be just soreness or it could be something more serious he’s playing out of his mind right now even though he can’t find the end zone which would really be nice for Fantasy but I digress either way Trey McBride not overly concerned with this injury heading into the weekend but just keep an eye on it because he is limited in practice Titan will disle has a shoulder injury as well also isn’t practicing and on tape this look like an AC sprain to me the teams already said they don’t plan on having will disly this week Stone smart is his backup if that’s something you’re into but don’t expect will disle to play much over the next couple weeks and then finally Titan David and joku has a hamstring injury has not practiced yet this week and just like will dizle the teams already said they don’t expect David and joku to play this week make sure you get them out of your lineups if you haven’t already all right guys that’s it for this week’s injury show hopefully you guys enjoyed it leave a comment down below if there’s
