three we could score more we do everything but at the end we give away especially the first one and after we are not stable enough you know to do it and it’s not about no run or no commitment or nothing as that but football you have to be in certain moments do it and right now it’s you know the second goal the second po post tou post Eddie finishing the play when the player is there and The Last Action Jack shoot the flection keeper post and go out so in that situation is everything is like that so but yeah improve we what can we do so rest one or two days and prepare anfield it’s just not going to happen so so the game was 4 3-0 even more I don’t remember the first half yeah maybe one shoot the deflection not much but yeah we we cannot close the games and and every time they arrive they they score but could you just take us quickly into the thinking behind the triple change at 3-0 the yeah yeah and Nathan come with 3 Z 20 yeah 20 minutes left and then the game was not in danger I didn’t have the feeling the day attack and three Z is never over but that happened and Nathan had been injured for many many times and it did one exposed 90 minutes gundan is the only holding in field that we have and that’s why make institutions and the other one was uh um feel the same play a lot of minutes and of course I do it for but uh Kevin Get Rhythm for the best way I don’t know if uh you know Kevin with the same with Maka and jamai always is so stable emotionally in these type of games and Rico was playing really good and Matos always was in the best moment of the game the second half after Marble’s assist and and everything and and the game wasn’t completely fine so I didn’t have the feeling but the moment we did we do uh we give away the first goal and after was more and a stable uh H it’s Boris from antenna 5 in these situations we ask about positives at least you didn’t lose this game if there is some sort of a positive and again you said before in your career you’ve not faced a challenge like this this is not a football challenge after it’s a mental one isn’t it we were talking to Spurs at the time when they were throwing away games leading 3-0 4-0 whatever they call them spury at times is there a fear that there there might be a situation where you can’t explain why you can’t contain the the result you know before you score one goal you we expect you to score even more goals you know and win games it happened as wins it happened today we score one or some more yeah we are not able to win games so with a team always we found the way always we found the way in the last years many years we found a way to win the games in one way in the other way was always different and right now after 3-0 and another situations more nothing happened this is nothing happened so we could not score the four we could not score the fifth but nothing happened so as in control and now it doesn’t happen last onean please hi pep sorry to go off ends up with a with a 3-3 which is unbelievable result uh for us um also remarkable in in in the essence of being three- Z down uh around minute 75 away from home and and against yeah from E still uh the best team in the world and then be able to to pick up a um a really important point for us no it was actually at the 33 to BU yeah no it it’s yeah it sounds strange um obviously you always believe um but we knew it was a difficult game and I think you also saw it especially the first uh 20 maybe 25 minutes um they they played fast football they they found a lot of good spaces we we were not as tight as um as I wanted to in in some elements and and we ended up a bit too low uh the boys adjusted it a bit um David and and Quinton found each other better in in the defensive block and and we actually were able to uh to get some some transition some possession moments where I then would have hoped that we had more quality uh and we didn’t um and then 3- Z down then you definitely think this is this is going to be a long night uh tough evening and then without yeah uh any tactical elements but just individual quality and three key moments we we took him and put in the the the C element that you need to do when you when you play these games and then also the individual quality gave us the the the draw no no I didn’t look at it from from that point of view we knew that that milambo uh still is on his way back from injury and and we still need to protect him um he uh a little bit the same he got a knock and uh yeah maybe he’s going to play again on on on Saturday uh with who go out we we still need to to be aware of some things we know that darid can play that that left back but now we we definitely didn’t try to to to replace and then hope the the best but um as I said already a lot of times this this season the the boys are taking good steps every game they play uh they are taking steps as a individual but also as a team and I think that’s that’s what you’re seeing at the moment also they they’re getting closer and closer together we we you guys who are from Holland you know that it was a new team that we bu Build It Up This beginning of the season and now we starting to see that these guys are trusting each other more and more and also get in the effort and get in the mentality cuz today was about character and mentality and then we know we have quality and and the boys showed it these three key moments yeah uh it’s it’s definitely one of the evenings that um that will stand out um I don’t know if it ever happened before in in Champions League uh that U three three n down after 775 minutes and then running away with the with a draw I don’t know if it ever happened before um but uh yeah big performance of the boys um they stayed in the game they they kept believing and they they kept pushing and um I can only praise them it’s their job they they did amazingly and and as I said they kept believing [Music] yeah I I definitely hope that they they take away um different things definitely the focus that you need to play over 90 minutes against a team like this uh they take away the quality that is also required in games like this um and then hopefully also they take away the confidence that they are able to compete against the best ones I know a lot of these boys they’ve been looking forward always to play Champions League games but definitely also play against the big guns the the big ones in in the world uh to see how far they are to compete at this level and and today I think they they Pro that they are able to compete at at this level then it’s always a challenge to do it game after game and and week after week but today was yeah was definitely a good good experience for for all of us no not not much I know he understands a little bit of Danish um so now I just told him he’s a good player yeah no we we we would definitely like to to win at home uh European night at at the C uh should be a great evening for for all of us um then it it doesn’t matter that it’s it’s part prag it’s it’s going to be the same approach for us and and definitely also for me it’s of course I cannot hide the the emotions for me and and the feelings that I have for for the club um but at the end of the day I would love to give our amazing supporters also tonight would love to give everybody a a good performance at the curb and and hopefully we can go into the game with with uh just as much energy as as today and and also in a couple of the away games that we had we had a tough schedule leading up to the other um Champions League home games uh where we missed some energy we missed some players due to injuries so I’m I’m hoping that we can uh show up uh well prepared uh picking up points in the ad VC before spa and then give everybody all the supporters an amazing evening at at the curb just on a personal note it was not the easiest start for you at finer like you said you had to build up a new team but under your leadership finard won at Benfica grab the point on an evening no one will ever forget here at Manchester City what what does it do with you um of course it it it it does something but but at the end um yeah today I I can only praise the boys I I didn’t do much to be honest uh tactically we we didn’t change when we were 3-0 down we we talked about some things at halftime we we practiced some things before the game but today for me the boys they they changed the the the game picture they um they did the hard work they kept believing and they they kept pushing uh and and that’s the most important thing that you you got players on the pitch that are able to um to take responsibility and and that’s what we have at final that’s what we have at the at the team and then yeah I’m part of it I hope I have a a big role in in some elements yes but but at the end it’s it’s a team effort and uh I’m happy to see the progress that we we’ve been making cuz um yeah it was not an easy start for me and for us in general we knew it when we when we looked at how the the squad was built and and and with the transfers and and all this and it is not easy when you have to change things and especially with with 11 players it it it takes time and it’s it’s time we we don’t have and it’s time you don’t give us uh cu the pressure is on and and that’s part of it that’s why I I love being at F order I love being part of a big team where the expectations are huge where they’re massive cuz it it it switches the brain on and you have to work and you have to push forward and you have to take steps even though the wind is blowing a bit uh but I know that that’s where the brain is working best is when you fail and when you struggle uh and and then you need to show resilience whether you’re coach or players and I I just love that uh that word resilience and that’s what these boys they have just some words about Haj Musa who is started to score now game after game after game what what did you do to him yeah big big respect to to Anis um big respect we um we had a talk I think it was maybe maybe before Al Madea City I I can’t remember it it’s definitely leading up to that uh maybe before um salsburg I’m not sure but I had a talk with him and and discussed his situation um a bit um he obviously wanted to play more games um and and that’s fair and then at the same time I just told him that it’s up to you you just need to perform if you’re better than the other ones I will play you um and respect to him he uh he really pushed in he said game number four and and four goals so all credit to him and not just on the offensive part uh but also on the defensive part he actually showed really good discipline um the other Champions League games I think I put him in as a as a wing back and he he he delivered so all respect to to Anis he he really showed that he’s a he’s a good player and and also adapting into to final Cu uh it’s not easy uh coming from from vitessa and from Belgium and then into a top team where there’s a big expectations and there’s also competition and and he definitely um showed a good mentality over the last probably month or so yeah UMO [Music] unfortunately um I I didn’t really have the feeling even though they scored three and0 that it’s it’s going to be a tough night and and a lot of goals against uh I I don’t know why but I didn’t have that feeling uh but obviously you know when you’re 3-0 down and and and you play against some unbelievable good players then there’s a risk in that but I had a a good feeling of of the players that they stayed in the game and they stayed focused um and then as I said I think the the the key for this result was the moments we got we took him and I think the first goal says everything it’s it’s a chance coming out of the blue and we pick it up and then it’s 13 and then you definitely feel that the boys get some confidence they get some belief uh and then when you get the 23 then uh then it’s all in and that’s why I said we took three key moments um in a crucial uh moment of the game where we put in not just the effort and the quality but but the individual uh decision making was spot on and and H that’s buil to call in top side Al in but they they are important of course they they they got the the experience to play these kind of games um Gano is come I don’t think I I see a lot of emotions on him whether good things or bad things and then he stays calm he stays focused he stays in the game uh David is um yeah now I known him also a few months in in Sparta and and I think you guys you seen him over these two years he’s an un Le B Soldier he he keeps going uh then I push him to to the left back and he he keeps going over there and even before he he made The Equalizer he’s he’s actually signaling that he’s done he’s finished and we’re about to to stop him and then he says no I’ll stay in and then he keeps going um and and you need these boys with with this mentality and this character and and we got a lot of these ones uh you see also Quinton today he did not want to to leave the pitch he wanted to stay on even though I think he was maybe running around with crms at at the at the end and it is what football at the top level also is uh quality yes but mentality is crucial sorry ah yeah yeah no but that’s that’s what it is you you need to go to the limit uh and especially champions league and also in in the airc when you when you have a schedule like this you you will always push each other to the Limit and then there will be uh phases periods where you maybe go a little bit further than you actually should um but that also makes the difference from average players and and top players I think like any other coach you you say a few words to to the boys afterwards and and praise them for the work that they done um normally we don’t celebrate celebrate draws but but I think this one is maybe a little bit more special so I definitely told the boys also to be happy and and enjoy this moment uh this is not an easy place to to play um and then I I think it is important to uh to enjoy uh celebrate is maybe a too big a word but enjoy definitely and and be proud of the work that you done and and that’s also why I said today it’s not me I did not do anything magical um it was the boys they they did Magic the last 15 minutes they they got in the quality and then that’s that’s the the biggest praise um I can give to themag um well I I think when we when we got the schedule when we knew this is a tough draw um for sure but but at the same time we also a confidence in in our group uh and our our players uh they look forward to these games and they they they have quality to to compete here uh we maybe did not expect us to pick up our win our way in Benfica and also draw here at at IAD but um yeah these are the moments where you you have to be spot on in in U in order to pick up points and and that’s that’s why I praise these guys and and now it’s up to us to give our supporters uh a good good performance uh at home at at the C that’s that’s definitely the next step to take when we when we talk about Champions League the all creds [Music] that was that was definitely the the ambition in the aim um not to adjust too much and and to be too defensive even though I think you also saw at the 451 in the first half we were quite low in the block which I also think you have to but at the same time we wanted to play with two Wingers two proper Wingers that could also hurt uh Man City on on some transitions or individual quality like both of them both eigor and and and Anis actually put in I did not expect that it was minute 75 to 90 that they will shine the most I was maybe hoping a little bit earlier but um yeah that was definitely ambition also when I talked to Quinton and David uh during um yeah during these days they had the same feeling no we we have to stay loyal to how we want to do things and we have to try to go and play our chance uh from the qualities that we have and and that’s why I’m uh I’m proud of these boys they they took in the defensive work really well uh when we stayed in in rdam yesterday and
