could hit 9:30 um but we’ll have to adjust that we’ll have to adjust that moving forward welcome in interesting day today we had all of the WAN sto sort of Fallout on on on social media fan bases getting at it with each other aggravated frustrated the Yankees and the Blue Jays and uh and Red Sox fans just seem kind of bummed out but it is a the day after Wan stto and the sweep Stakes come to a close we have some uh some items to pull up and talk about regarding a new Philadelphia Phillies closer will he be the closer we’ll find out time will tell but the Philadelphia Phillies go out and grab Jordan romano and I have some thoughts on that my several of my blue jays fans Brethren uh we disagree I’m going to try to I’ll I’ll do this I will explain why this is just another example another frustration point for me as a blue jay fan and why I think other blue jay fans that are drinking the Kool-Aid should give it some more thought so we’ll talk about Jordan Romano the WAN stto pivot moves are already being talked about Alex bregman Max freed two of the most notable uh pivot players are sort of out there today tasar Hernandez I guess there’s a gap there’s a gap between what teoscar wants and what the Dodgers are willing to pay him I thought thought wanted to be back I thought the Dodgers wanted him back how are we hung up over what I’m certain is just a couple million bucks now maybe it’s a year thing and then that would be more than just a couple million bucks that would be a significant portion but if we’re like if we’re on if if they’re lined up with the years and this is boiling down to a matter of just a few million bucks a year someone’s got to give if both sides want a reunion to happen let’s see it let’s see you do it um so we got Romano the Phillies we got bregman we got freed we got Dodgers and T Oscar we got talk about a Nolan ronado trade it it sounds like the Cardinals are determined to move Nolan ronado and we got a little bit of a timing a potential timing at least for a Nolan arado trade it it seems like it could be within the next couple of weeks not days so that is that’s interesting we also had Mark fand was on MLB Network and look Max freed sort has sort of shot to the top of the wish list for teams like the Blue Jays and the Red Sox and the Yankees again the pivot teams from Juan stto and there’s rumors again people taking one word and adding more importance to the statement by changing the word there’s rumors out there that from Mark fand the Yankees will sign Max freed we have to clear that up as well because that is not what Mark feinsand said Mark feinsand used words like could and might did not use the word will did not use the word will once could and might turned into will and that is all you need so we’re going to dig into a lot that’s going on what are you hearing about the Rangers heard they were in on AJ Minter but nothing else the Rangers are to me they’re going to be an enigma this uh well should they should I call them that an enigma I don’t know I I think that we’ll hear more from the Rangers I think they’re going to be in on the I think they’re going to be in on the pitching Market but um yeah there’s the mentor thing outside of that I know it’s not you’re you’re not hearing a lot you’re not hearing a lot you’re not hearing a lot that that’s exciting and I think probably the reason is that Philadelphia Phillies haters that I cannot bring across the line for this but this is a Philadelphia Phillies team that makes good moves Personnel decisions are top Notch they don’t screw things up you need an extension done they do it you need to go get something in the off season they go get it you need somebody back they bring them back the Philadelphia Phillies are excellent at Talent acquisition keeping Talent all of that fantastic right if there was a a baseball Savant metrics and we were looking at their metrics page when it comes to Talent evaluation and talent acquisition they would be in the 95th percentile okay that team decided that Jordan Romano is a good piece for their team and oh also by the way ofp for Mets they’re going to pay Jordan Romano more than likely the Toronto Blue Jays if they had not agreed on an arbitration figure if they had had to go to a third party they are Philadelphia paying Jordan radoo more than he likely would have been making in Toronto for a guy that the Toronto Blue Jays decided a couple of weeks ago the best course of action was to just not give this man a contract for $6 million nah we don’t want him on the team he can go away maybe we’ll try to bring him back if he’s lucky we’ll try to bring him back Jordan Romano is now going to the Philadelphia Phillies Jeff passon refers to him as closer Jordan romano and the Phillies have an agreement will he close we’ll see I still think it would be great for the Phillies to bring Jeff Hoffman back I think Carlos esz is gone Hoffman coming back would be a great move but the Philadelphia Phillies again the bullseye on the dart board this off season is Bullpen and they’re jumping out early making a move for Jordan romano and at the 7 million and change it’s a bargain and the tonal Blue Jay said no not if the Red Sox overreact and overpay who will they overpay for one fa and one trade turkey burrito what’s the other Emoji it didn’t play it that looks like a lizard um Dodgers were nervous about Max freed and the injuries that’s why it was Blake Snell and not Max freed now there’s a lot of people that have heard me talk about Max freed over the last couple of weeks and month or so and you’re going to have to you have to tell them that when you when when he doesn’t go to the Dodgers and you’re and you’re thinking oh Jim What happened to the Dodgers guys help me out when you see that stuff those of you that are in here when you see it in the comments help me out if I’m not there to respond to it that’s what’s happening so the Toronto Blue Jays decided that no Jord Romano is not something that not something we want and I’m catching some heat from Blue Jays fans who think that it was a good thing still even after today a good thing that the Blue Jays let Jordan Romano go that Jordan Romano’s are must be cooked they must know something that nobody else knows uh that that that that it it wasn’t worth the risk and it was the right thing to do what about anything that Toronto bluejs have done over the last two years lets you believe and maybe even we can go beyond that but I do like the Osman deal the Basset deal was pretty good but over the last two years last offseason so far this offseason what about the decision-making processes by this front office leads you to believe that that anything they do is going to be the right decision at this point they entered into a mode they they they transitioned out of that building up mode and they entered into okay now we’re supposed to win mode and that transition has gone horribly horribly and we we’re at a point now where the decision- making is just flawed and wrong Jordan Romano should be a part of this club and to let him go in the fashion that they did non tendering him a contract now he goes to the Philadelphia Phillies is just further evidence that the front office is making poor decisions guys it was an impin M now you’re going to say well Kirby Yates had an impingement Kirby Yates was out for a year everybody’s different my impingement is different from your impingement from his impingement it wasn’t Tommy John’s surgery that he needed it was not structural damage and I’m going to guess that the Philadelphia Phillies feel pretty good now there has to be a physical that is pass and God damn when that physical gets passed there will be no argument from any Blue Jays fan that it was the right thing to do blue jays fans don’t be a shill for this front office and think everything’s okay and the decisions that they are making are the right decisions because the decisions that they are making H are are setting this team backwards I’m worried this team is headed for a very dark period Vladimir Guerrero Jr will not sign an extension if he does I I will be shocked Vladimir Guerrero J because the Toronto Blue Jays are not going to offer him a $500 million extension and even if they do it kind of makes sense for him to still not sign it because if the blue jay set the bar at 500 right now it’s higher than that next off season so they missed on an opportunity to extend Vladimir Guerrero Jr which means he’s going to most likely be gone and this can squarely be put on the shoulders of the front office because an extension should have been the top priority last year or the year after last after 2022 or after 2023 now it’s too late that’s all I’ll say about this I am it it’s more confirmation that the front office is just unable to operate in the manner that you need them to when you’re in a mode where you’re supposed to be winning they were great when they were in that mode where you’re not ready yet we’re not ready yet they were great during that phase but now that it’s supposed to be go time not so good they’re focusing on the wrong free agents Otani was never a a real a real shot you were used as leverage Juan stto was never a real shot you were used as leverage you never had a chance you could have given him a billion dollars I don’t think it would have mattered because Steve Cohen would have gone 50 million higher and even at the end of the day what have you shown Juan soda what have you actually shown with shown him with your actions before you got into this courting phase what did you show him that would lead him to believe that this is the best situation for him that you’re going to be able to reload after you sign me I know you we’re good you’re going to get vlat extended they didn’t they didn’t deploy Vladimir Guerrero Jr as an ambassador during the process Hazel May where is it from Hazel May do do we still have this hold on a to why the the Angels could not trade sh Otani you when the player leaves you have to be able to shift some of the the anger and the focus and the blame on the player and if the player leaves in free agency you can always say we tried guys we gave him this offer we offered him 14 years at $500 million he didn’t take it we tried oh you know what I we’re right there with you we’re angry that he’s gone we tried they can do that if he walks in free agency they can’t do that if they trade him so the Optics of it from that perspective that’s number one and number two the winning element of the of the club um the gats were trying to lock up stto it wasn’t going to happen and the gats were also kind of turning the corner going the wrong way so it made sense for the Nats to trade stto because it was about to go downhill and it would have been a waste of of of of talent and time and money to pay him the arbitration dollars as that team was doing nothing so that’s why the gats traded him the Padre’s traded him because the Padre’s it was not that same kind of attachment with the Padres and sto as it is with the blue jays and vat so yes there is that correlation Superstar player generational player even though Mark shyro doesn’t want to admit it I will I I get it but there’s just a different emotion and a closeness between the Blue Jays and vlat than there was with stto and the Padres so for those two reasons three reasons and the other reason is the Blue Jays are going to be trying to make the playoffs next year they’re going to try to get a wild card spot and if you’re if you’re trying to make it into the postseason you got to keep your guys I don’t think they’re going to trade so so for those reasons I don’t see a Vladimir Guerrero Jr trade happening all right let’s where do we want to go to next there’s the Romano there’s that let’s talk about let’s talk about tasar Hernandez for a second because I don’t think we need to spend too A whole lot of time we had just a couple of days ago all of the news that tasa Hernandez was that the Dodgers and tail were working on a deal they were they were hammering out the the details and now all of a sudden it’s starting to feel like maybe there’s not going to be a reunion uh Doug McCain two hours ago at the winter meetings shout out Doug being down there in Dallas asking Dave Roberts about the chance of losing tasar Hernandez and this is what Dave Roberts said it’d be tough I’m huge fan of Tao ta has put himself in a very good position as a free agent so he’s got some decisions to make himself it’d be hard for me not to see him come back the Michael conforto thing obviously tasar Hernandez is up here and Michael conforto is down here maybe some of you want to create an even larger Gap we’re on the same page there’s a gap but it kind of feels like even though the Dodgers are not out on T Oscar Hernandez they now have the reasons to move on and I don’t I’m not saying I want that to happen the problem is we have a gap here it is this is uh baseball trade rumors where did it come from though uh Aiden Gonzalez reporting that the two sides have been negotiating and are stuck with a gap let me find it let’s go down here uh how might the conal signing impact the pursuit of tasar Hernandez Dodgers and Hernandez have been in negoti for the past few weeks but have been unable to bridge the gap sources familiar with the processes have said I thought the Dodgers wanted it back I thought teoscar wanted to be back when you have two parties both with mutual feelings how do you not have it done by now how do you not have this done and with all of the options they have now it starts to my mind really creates some doubt you have and he highlights it here at the moment conforto Edmund and PES project as the outfielder with mooki Betts likely headed back to Short Stop Lux at second Betts at Short Edmond at center now this doesn’t mean you can’t add teoscar Hernandez back into the mix but they have financially committed to Tommy Edmond conforto is a one-year situation but you don’t sign conforto and have him platoon I don’t think for that much money there’s other options if you want a lefty platoon you wouldn’t bring teoscar Hernandez back and have him have to what play the matchups so you now unfortunately have the path to where the Dodgers can move on I’m shocked I’m surprised I really thought that we would see a teoscar re from Dodgers waiting too long well we had we had speculated recklessly that maybe they with with those negotiations a couple days ago that they had sort of been in a spot where hey look this is let’s let’s let’s let’s try to hammer out the details we can’t sign anything until the sto deal so just let’s let’s get close so that way when that’s done we can get back together I don’t know where things stand and how I I really I don’t know where things stand I don’t feel very comfortable my my confidence rating for teoscar Hernandez going back to the Dodgers is shrinking by the day because now you’ve got a Yankees team a Red Sox team and a blue jay team that is feeling the hurt and needs the pop the New York Mets could go get teoscar Hernandez if they wanted to look I mean Starling Starling Marte only got one more year left and the Mets need a power bat I’m not saying they would I just what I’m saying is Tasco Hernandez has options and now so do the Dodgers so two teams two two entities the player and the team that sounded like they wanted to get back together both have options which I think really hurts the chance of them getting back together I would like to see teoscar back with the Dodgers I would like to see him in Toronto why would he go back to Toronto though when vlat is most likely walking look we won’t know that it will not be made public it will not be that that even though somebody would love to grab it that’s not going to get out there but teoscar vlat they’re friends they’re good friends T Oscar calls up vlat says what’s what’s going on man are you locked are you there for the long term and V’s like man I don’t know that’s all you need to hear if you’re teoscar hernandz or any other free agent I don’t know so we are keeping an eye on this teoscar Hernandez and Dodger situation A A Reunion that looked like it was one of the easier ones Jeff passon said that tasar Hernandez could be one of the earliest names off the board and now that is the opposite of of of things maybe it’s the Tigers SD Mike we could definitely see the Tigers 100% Tigers the Red Sox Yankees the Blue Jays the Kansas City Royals the Pittsburgh Pirates if they Pony up the money there’s Jim how many World Series do you think the Mets will win the next 15 years with Soto I think if Soo signed with the Yankees it would be Dodgers Yankees in the next 15 years what are your thoughts Canadian Mikey thank you for the donation they got a few in them I can’t say that the Mets will win as many World Series Championships as you know maybe the Dodgers the Yankees would have if SoDo was on board and the reason being again to get to the World Series if you’re in the American League feels like an easier path than in the National League so it’s going to be harder to make the world series number one and the other element is the Mets are going to have to get over the Dodgers and otani’s there for another 10 years and yamamoto’s locked in long term and they’re going to keep replenishing constantly so the Dodgers aren’t going to away so the fact that the Mets are going to have to get past the Dodgers I mean it’s going to set up for some incredible playoff matchups whether it is the NLCS or based on seating we see them meet up earlier it’s it really there’s there’s there’s some great National League October baseball coming I do think we have some how many want me to give you a number it’s hard to win the World Series ask Dave Roberts in the 15 years I think I know what you want me to say you probably want me to say like six or seven half of that time in the 15 years I will say I would set three as the over under and many of you may take the under on that I understand because I feel like three is the number I feel like three is the number many of you may want to take the under and that’s fine um Nando you’ll give him one lionhardt you’ll give him one I would say I I gotta think I got there’s a lot of really t a lot of talented players in that pipeline they’re going to spend money now they’re going back to it is going to be World Series or bus mode so the talent acquisition is going to be through the roof you have David Sterns in his scouting department and his scouting ways making the decisions now not Billy up I feel like three over 15 years two or three I see some twos I I could you could probably talk me into two I’m going to give them the credit and I’m going to say three I’m GNA say three okay um NL is definitely hard to rush you’re 100% right that is that is going to be the thing you that’s three considering the Dodgers are probably going to win you know 10 of the other ones I’m kidding it’s not going to be a run we’re not going to see the national league win the World Series for 15 straight years but it’s I mean maybe actually can we can we let’s talk about that for a second what hopes does the American League have to win the World Series over the next 10 years Aaron judge is only going to get older the Astros you can see the decline coming with the free agency and the Aging players maybe the Orioles Step Up got to get some pitching the Red Sox could be on the rise it’s going to be tough the American League is going to be tough because it’s there you don’t see any like dynasties building in the American League the Astros seem to be going away and again many of you don’t want to call them a dynasty but what was it seven straight eight straight ALCS appearances it’s a mini Dynasty at the very least at the very as far as the American League is concerned uh and in the National League you got the Braves you got the Mets you got the Dodgers you got the Phillies it’s going to be tough the American League is in for a rough go all right there’s the teoscar Hernandez Houston Astros deal because there is the Astros are not ruling out the possibility of moving Valdez or Tucker I think you have to keep Tucker but Valdez you can you should you have to I had a video a couple days ago making the case for the Astros to trade for Amber Valdez and you’ve got uh three primary reasons why the first the future of the team the farm system it is one of the worst in baseball if you trade for Amber Valdez who still has good enough value to bring back two of somebody’s Top 10 Prospects which will boost your system even though he’s entering his final year fber Valdez you got to move him for the future of the team because you’re probably not going to be giving framber Valdez $30 million a year for five or six years which is how this is all headed right so for that case you got to move them uh also you have a schedule for what is going on at the winter meetings William I do not have a schedule I do not I appreciate your donation I don’t have that I um I’m not sure if you’re looking for something specific to like because I know well you’ll have the rule five draft at the end and there’s things like that but U as far as everything else you got teams you got GMS you got everybody meeting with everybody throughout so you know from a scheduling perspective really the big thing is the what’s up Robert the big thing is is it closes out with the rule five draft and all that so you’ve got the future of the team you have the from from a financial perspective and what the Astros need to do um it kind of makes sense to move him and bring back of that package back somebody that can step in uh because from a position standpoint perspective they could use a piece there can you make a trade where you get a first basement back in return for framber volz so I think that there is all there there are three really solid really good reasons to deal for Ember Valdez again I have a video up on that spent about 10 minutes on the reason reasons why the Astros have to trade forber Valdez and I will have a trade proposal tomorrow included so I want to get to Max freed though there’s Max all right I think I can probably find I can probably find what I’m looking for just by doing this let’s see the Yankees are already pursuing Max freed they’ve had Zoom meetings we know this it is nothing new we know that they are they are they are going after them they’re they want to do what they will do here it is let’s get the audio teed up for this just clarify it was $760 Million over 16 years so it’s not they’re going to go hand out $760 Million worth of contracts for the next four there is a Max freed again a conversation starting point from this um minute clip six years that said there’s a lot of money to spend there and they’re going to spend it you have to figure there are holes on this roster that Brian Cashman has to deal with uh first base is one of them second base or third base is another one Alex bregman maybe possibility at third base move jazz Chism over to Second uh left field another possibility maybe Cody Bellinger a trade to bring him in move Aaron judge back to right field Jason Dominguez one of their top prospects takes over in Center there’s a little bit of flexibility in terms of schism can play a couple positions judge can move back to right uh Max freed is a name I would watch the Yankees are definitely looking to add to the starting pitching rotation I think freed is a guy they have interest in and could be on their radar and the bullpen got to be addressed as well Tanner Scott the top closer on the market I think that’s another guy the Yankees could certainly be looking at so I I think when you look at all of these names I don’t think it’s going to be a situation where it’s one guy I think the Yankees could go out and sign two three then make a trade maybe there are going to be some new names on this roster that they have to address that they were probably going to have to address even if woto had taking their deal the likelihood the Yankees make a massive move here at the winter meetings I’m saying 90% Mark vinan uh I would go with your pie chart on that one I would say about 90% as well my gut tells me Max freed might be that guy um um but we’ll see might could look the max free to the Yankees thing it it’s close enough as it is we don’t need to take from that that the Yankees will sign Max freed could they yes they could sign Max freed they could sign Corbin Burns they could sign Jack flare they could sign uh Walker bu they could sign native Aldi there’s a lot of options for the New York Yankees I would really if I’m a Yankee fan look Max freed would be great it would be exciting but that lineup needs to be worked on and I would if I’m trying to prioritize my time and my dollars I would be really focusing on the bats again the dart board the center of the Yankees dart board the plan the needs it’s all about that lineup right now if you enter 2025 with the current rotation you’ll be okay you won’t be okay if that lineup does not get the work that it needs so the max freed stuff almost feels like it’s a distraction it’s like it’s there it could happen he has interest we have interest let’s go do it okay but what if while you’re working on the max freed the the the Bost of Red Sox swoop in and grab I don’t know Anthony sandir or or Christian Walker or some somebody to that degree I think the Yankees need to focus on the bats and and when it comes to Max freed yes the Yankees are involved in in play the Boston Red Sox are there too the Toronto Blue Jays are rumored to be a team as well San Francisco has been linked I feel like the lead teams got to be Boston has to be they’ve missed out on a lot of free agents and it’s scary it it has to be scary for them to start to get the feeling in their stomach reminding them of last year because last year they said it was going to be Full Throttle now they didn’t use that terminology this offseason but they kind of said the same thing we are spending money we are done we have developed the players we have the young core we now are going to build around them we are going to spend spend spend all right great look you can say you want to spend but you can’t Force players to go to your team I feel like the Braves or not the Braves but the Red Sox are going to get to a position where they basically to avoid this thing from taking a hard left because they’ve already they were in on Blake Snell they missed out on him they were in on us Kikuchi they missed out on him teoscar Hernandez preference one is the Dodgers and unless you can overpay to bring him over feels like the boss is going to have to open up and spend more for Max freed to make sure Max freed doesn’t go somewhere else because Max freed has options when you have a market and your Market is including a New York team if you have an LA team great but if you’ve got a New York team you’re in great you’re in a great spot I can’t imagine he ends up on a national league east team um you know the the Phillies or or the Mets that’s that seems like it’s the furthest thing from any kind of reality but the Red Sox they’ve got to be the lead team and I cannot give the Toronto Blue Jays any serious weight here because again Max freed is looking for that six seven-year deal what about the blue jay’s plan and process makes Max freed feel comfortable agreeing to a long-term contract now he can always open up the uh the opt out window and get out of there after 2 years or 3 years if it doesn’t go well but what’s one of the new trends in baseball giving teams the option to void the opt out Garett Cole had that uh it was really awkward the way it all went down but the Yankees had it after meetings today and it’s got to right it’s got to uh this has been a very quiet day it it is literally been rumors about bregman and freed and what the pivots could be for the stto losers and Jordan Romano to the Phillies that’s that’s that’s kind of been it um the Red Sox have to go get Max freed they’ve got to be the lead team if the Blue Jays land them I’ll be shocked I can’t see the Blue Jays probably I can’t see the Blue Jays agreeing to the opt outs because the opt outs he would take them so we’ve got some Max free talk that’s popped up and I just want to make sure that we clarify everything Mark feinan did not say the Yankees will sign Max freed he said he they could sign Max freed that’s as far as it goes it did not cross the line into will category so max free talk we can dig that back up if you want to let’s talk let’s take a look at Alex bregman let’s go to where do we want to go to this what is the latest on Al Alex Brean right now does anybody let me pose the question to you guys does anybody really believe that Alex bregman could be again we’re focusing on the the sto pivots here does anybody really believe that Alex bregman could go and play for the New York Yankees like really straight face you believe that that could happen after 2017 a after you know how this fan base hates him um all of that I I I feel like the reasons why we’re not hearing the big reporters and big insiders talking about uh bregman is is not a fit for the Yankees is because well there’s a couple things number one um it’s a bold statement to say no way he’ll ever play for the Yankees because of the history there and because the fan base hates him you don’t usually hear your MLB Network guys your ESPN guys your Fox guys you don’t you you don’t typically hear that kind of talk uh so that’s one reason the other reason is if you were to do that and you were to be the reason why Alex ragman’s Market gets nuked because that’s what would happen if the Nar if John hayon or or or Mark fand or or or anybody started running around saying no the Yankees won’t do it all of that Yankee talk is garbage then we’re going to have a pro then then that Insider is going to have a source problem who’s bregman’s agent it’s Scott Bor and if you take the New York Yankees out of the equation from a public perception from a uh from a negotiating in the public space from it’s not really a leak but it it’s it’s a closely related cousin to a leak I I would say if you were out there saying no way the Yan Yankees would ever do this and eventually it gets around all the Yankees have no interest then you have hurt Alex bregman’s Market which means you have pissed Scott Bor off so you don’t have anybody who has Scott Bor or at least Boris Corp agents and personnel as sources you don’t want them mad at you so that’s one reason why I don’t think we hear them shooting down bregman to the Yankees but I can’t see it and I don’t have to worry about Boris Boris Corp any agents any sources any I don’t see it at all if Alex bregman has a market it’s the Mets it’s the Red Sox it’s the Tigers it’s the Blue Jays that’s all we really need isn’t that good enough you got the Blue Jays you got the Red Sox you got the Mets why are we pulling the Yankees into this thing I don’t see it cwe what was your thought I didn’t see your comment earlier where were you hold on I’ll scroll up my Yankee fans are you in on the idea of bregman putting on Pinstripes I don’t see it for those that need the refresher I think Yankees going to stop doing business with Boris that could be it for anybody that needs a refresher again we don’t need to go down into a 2017 hate Fest but the Houston Astros beat the New York Yankees in the ALCS in 2017 now every time Houston goes to the Bronx Alex bregman and Jose Altuve get booed mercilessly Springer still gets booed Korea still gets booed this is why the Mets don’t have a problem because the Mets did not lose firsthand to the Astros in 2017 so for that reason I can’t see any Astros attached to the 2017 Yan to the 2017 Astro team that beat the Yankees in the ALCS I cannot see them any of them being a New York Yankee the Mets are different because they are not directly connected I can’t see it for that reason that is it the fan base hates them maybe maybe Cashman would love to have Alex bregman but he knows that to too much of the fan base can’t stand him so I cannot see it again you have Boston you have the Mets you have the Blue Jays those three teams should be enough to drive the price up you don’t need the Yankees for Alex prman so when you hear that stuff every time I hear it I in the back of my mind I’m like this guy hates that he’s saying this right now whoever it is if it’s fineand if it’s Rosenthal if it’s anybody I think to myself this guy has to hate that he’s saying this right now because he’s got to know deep down in his heart that there’s no way that what he’s saying is factual but because he doesn’t want to burn the Boris Bridge which is important to these guys you don’t want to burn the Boris bridge and you also don’t want to go out there and say something is definitively not going to happen because it could happen definitively to that point I I I can’t I can’t will 100% get Breakman if so do they need to move or boom fast well the thing about Alec bom is if you trade or no if you sign bregman you you do need to have a bom trade t that’s what makes it I feel something out but because of the multiple dominoes there look I like the Phillies as a fit for bregman but because of those dominoes I would I would put bregman behind uh I I would put bregman behind other teams I think there’s a good night I think there’s a good chance I think there’s a good chance that you know we’re talking about bregman as a potential met they uh Steve Cohen had no problem going for Carlos kareah I don’t know if the tigers are going to want to pay look how much does Alex bregman won bregman and Boris believe that he is at least a $200 million guy do the Detroit Tigers feel that way now the New York Mets may not feel that way but if that’s what they think they need to do to get him done and they feel like it improves the team then I could see the Mets going and getting bregman and just saying well whatever uh $200 million I there’s a different exchange rate for US than there is the Detroit Tigers $200 million means something different to Detroit than it does to us so yeah we’ll give it to him it’s no problem Boston if you go get him you’re moving you you are pulling pulling the trigger on moving DEA first then right or is bregman going to go play second for Boston and then you wonder about Tristan casus I wouldn’t trade Tristan cus if I’m Boston to bring in Alex bregman there’s literally nobody I would trade Tristan casus for you have a ton of prospects that haven’t proven anything at the major league level yet however they still have a lot of value because they have a very high ceiling it’s untapped potential this guy could be amazing a lot of blue sky with that Prospect you’re trading based on that and they have a lot of that move a piece or two from that category to get your pitching I do think Boston sign Max freed trade for Garrett crochet your rotation would be incredible they could do it in my opinion and you would see a uh you could you would see a package going to the white socks full of prospects and it works you don’t need to tr New York is the Yankees town and this is why the Yanks will go big to prevent the Mets from claiming the title well this is another reason why the Yankees losing stto to the Mets it doesn’t hurt as much cuz the Mets still got to get through the Dodgers the Mets got to get through the Braves and the Phillies they have to go go through one hell of a battle in the National League East and then they’re going to probably meet up with the Dodgers and they may meet up with the Braves and Phillies again just to get to the World Series and maybe the Yankees are standing there but you the Yankees do need to go out there and go big and if they don’t go big to the tune of the Super Chat from earlier from Frankie Bag of Donuts where it’s Christian Walker fre Tanner Scott and Cody Bellinger they don’t go big that’s that is again that’s not my Christmas wish list if I’m a Yankee fan that is my level of expectation those are two different things yeah Yankees are going to have to like Robert trade these meetings but he went to Philly it’s different um KD I have actually thought about going to the winter meetings I just I have to line some things up for that it’s a tough time of year for me to get away a lot of family stuff going on uh my wife’s job and how busy her uh fourth quarter is it is tough I would what I what I want and need to have happen is I the winter meetings got to get back on the East Coast got to get close to me a couple of years ago before I started doing the channel they were in DC at at the Gaylord National Hotel that was an hour away if I was doing this then I would have I would have gone even if I didn’t have uh you know credentials or clearance I could have gone and set up shop uh you know close by uh they they still rent out hotel rooms I could have gotten in a hotel room and just hung out in the lobby so there’s I they got to I they just got to get close by they just got to get close uh will we see a Robert trade these meetings Ed I would love to see that I want to see something happen because again today all we’ve had is rumors and Jordan Romano rumors and Romano have carried the day I I’m I’m in shock again more rumors right uh Derek gold who uh who commented that Tony thank you Tony Cardinal seeking to trade Nolan AR ronado for best interest of both sides that’s a great one isn’t it that’s a great one that reeks of irony I do think they’re going to try but who wants to take Nolan Aron’s contract the rest of the way I don’t think anybody do you think the Red’s interest in crochet is a oneoff or do you think they are legitimately wanting to add another starter I think it’s legit I think it’s legit um Ed I would love to see a Romano trade though just to to to your point um we had heard some talk that the white socks are intent on moving him they’re they’re not going to be in a mode where they’re trying to get him back out there in 2025 and have him build his value back up that they’re interested in moving him regardless I would love a Romano a Robert trade Sean the crochet thing I do think there is some legitimate interest there because the Cincinnati Reds are probably looking at their current window as a tight one to compete because when you think about their situation you think about all of that young talent you have I mean you worked out a a great deal with hunter green all right you had hunter green locked in you got you got a club option for $21 million in 2029 so you have four years five years of hunter green and I feel like that’s probably what they view as their window to compete and try to win something something substantial because along that same window of time you’ve got Ellie De La Cruz you’ve got Matt mlan going to the Mets doesn’t hurt as much the Yankees still has the Martian Jass and Dominguez and if he puts up sto numbers I would be happy mhm I’ll get you two seconds Franky you’ve got Christian anonos on strand who you be looking for bounce back there’s a lot of good young Talent here that you bulk up as best you can for this rotation because if you think you’re going to win something significant you probably have a fiveyear window to do it because you’re not going to I don’t think you’ll be locking El DEA Cruz up long term ell de Cru is a is not going to be a Wan sto like situation but it’s going to be be substantial it’s going to be big time maybe it will let’s see what Ellie De La Cruz does over the next couple years he’s certainly tracking to be a a generational Superstar by the time he hits free agency and he’s only going to be let’s see he’s 20 he’s turning 23 uh 24 25 26 27 28 so he’ll be entering his age 29 season that first year of free agency so you so you won’t get the 15-year deal but I I ell Cruz Matt mlan um Christian andos strand all hit free agency at the same time Spencer steer Hits free agency the year before I know Steer had a down year last year but you’re going to expect him to bounce back you’ve got uh hunter green locked in I I think you’re just you’re thinking about building a team that can do something significant over this window of time so I do believe the interest for gar crochet is genuine the uh so Frankie let’s see soda going to the metch doesn’t hurt as much the Yankees still have the Martian Dominguez and if he puts up soda numbers I would be happy you can’t expect him to put up stto numbers but it will be kind of fun to finally see Jason Dominguez get the get the Run get the everyday opportunity I’m looking forward to seeing Jason Dominguez out there every day all the time so I I’m I’m I’m for that this Nolan AR ronado situation though what’s the best interest of both sides the Cardinals are essentially telling you that you have that they are not going to be looking to exchange salaries or anything like that so talk of the Dodgers adding Chris Taylor into the deal or anything like that I I don’t know if that’s enough to get the job done Nolan wants to be a Dodger short there’s a lot of talk going on about that b I don’t know if you’re here you’re sending me stuff I know I but the Dodgers and the Cardinals have to be able to figure this out and the Dodgers make smart decisions it’s the reason why possibly this teoscar hernandes deal is hung up the Dodgers are smart with their decision making they’re not emotional hey it’d be great to have Nolan aronal on the team but if this does not fit our plan and our structure we’re not going to do it tasar Hernandez it’d be great to have him back on the team but if it’s not smart and doesn’t fit our structure we’re not going to do it and I almost feel like the Cardinals need the Dodgers more than the Dodgers need the Cardinal and this situation the the Cardinals need the Dodgers to take Nolan arado more than the Dodgers need to get Nolan arado and that is a huge component in a negotiation when you are a cardinal team hoping to dump some of this salary Cardinals have approached around four to five teams Cardinals have approached it’s interesting that he used that kind of wording I’ve been I’ve been really hung up and focused on the wording that is used in these things because when we start changing words around we’re changing the meaning around the Max freed thing earlier Mark fan did not say will he said could Cardinals have approached around four five teams doesn’t say that four or five teams speedread and hit the the important stuff uh at least 10 teams have contacted the Brewers there was before the winter meetings a report that the Brewers were not going to deal him and if they do it would be in season but if you have 10 teams contacting you that’s how a bidding war gets started that’s how you get the Tanner Scott return I always feel like and we talked about this the Milwaukee Brewers are basically waiting for the San Diego Padres to enter the room because as soon as San Diego enters the room then the bidding can begin I don’t know if San Diego would be one of these 10 teams yes Stephen I know I love the shirt though I’m a big history of baseball buff uh Cal Ripken is I mean he’s the Iron Man Eddie Murray dude legendary and you know Eddie Murray that that checks the Dodgers box that checks the Mets box that checks the Cleveland box I mean we we could check a lot of boxes with Eddie um yeah I I just love the shirt I have a bills one too I have actually two Orioles trade at some point later in the winter is perhaps more likely with all of the free agent arms still on the market if you don’t have to deal the prospects for Devon Williams why would you but if we get to January and all those top names are off the board and you still don’t have your guy and three or four four teams are in that boat with you then maybe if the the the trade talk fires back up waiting would allow them to see how the market shakes out after the you guys probably thought I was reading that no I’m now getting ahe to that waiting what allow them to see how the market shakes out according the sources the Dodgers the Yankees are among teams expressing interest in Williams we proposed a Devin Williams blockbuster trade couple weeks ago and the Dodgers can do it without really impacting the top of that farm system it just depends on what do they want back are they hellbent on getting top of the farm system pieces back or are they just looking to match up the value because O’Neal move is not specifically or especially impactful have you seen the size of this man’s biceps O’Neal replaces sandir the team search for front of the rotation starter remains a mystery Orioles gets back to this gets back to them and and the prospects we talked about earlier that would probably be desired in trade mayo and biso the Orioles have not seen him at the major league level yet so that I’m a big woo a big Miller guy so I feel like you’re in a good spot you get a Randy Ros ARA bounceback you make some Savvy moves for that infield it’s really the key what do you do with your infield the Toronto Blue Jays have so much more and a lot of other losing Burns not bringing him back as a l so um Trevor hang in there I think you have uh more reason for optimism than most look at your rotation Julio Rodriguez I think they’re going to get him squared away and even if they even if he doesn’t reach the uh the expectation that was set on him the money is there the commitment is there which means the commitment to winning while that contract is in place is there hang in there Trevor Swingman L them losing Burns not bringing it back is an l oh definitely it is definitely an L which starter will it be this is a speculation point of the article Nathan naldi is a possibility Jack flare is another a trade could be a third Avenue for improvement Orioles remain in strong position in the AL East particularly with the Yankees losing stto um that’s all we need to talk about from this so avaldi would be a nice addition flarity I think the fan base would question it but you could get I think you could pull that off I do think you could pull it off if you’re the Orioles that fan base would be accepting they would look they would remember oh this guy was just pitching in the World Series and he did well so I think you would I think you could get away with it the trade the question is who are you trading for are you trading for lazardo you’re gonna have to give up significant prospects that have never played at the major league level and the Orioles don’t seem to want to do that you would have to if you crochet you’d have to do the same thing and maybe add even more into the package the do you want to run back the Corbin Burns Playbook and trade for somebody like framber Valdez who’s going to be a free agent at the end of the year you can’t keep dealing prospects for oneyear pitchers at some point you you got to go out and trade the prospects for a multi-year option and that’s what crochet would be um if you can somehow swing a deal with Seattle and get Miller or woo then that would be a a longterm proposition ofal these short term probably two years with the third year would be the third year maybe be an option flarity is probably looking at three years with a fourth year as an option and it’s going to be significant dollars that’s the thing about FL it’s going to be significant the Orioles are in a weird spot again when it comes to pitching the Rangers likely cannot spend big until they gain Clarity on their future local media Revenue but that isn’t stopping them from at least getting in the mix for some of the better free agent starting pitchers good it’s what I’ve been saying for weeks now that needs to be the primary focus and you there’s still stay under the luxury tax that is a goal stay under the luxury tax go out there you can you can you can get Shawn manah and still be under the luxury tax it gets you get starting to creep up there but you can get manah now you still have to rebuild the bullpen this is where we start to get into the idea of a Nathaniel low or heaven forbid a do Garcia trade that’s the problem with that I don’t know if they would want to do that but if you go out and make a splash for a top of the rotation arm you may be forced into you may be forced into that into trading one of those two uh resigning of Aldi means Remains the Rangers top priority according to but the team is also in contact with freed and others keeping its options open freed would be a nice get I talked about freed as an option a sort of a throwaway comment a week or two ago that if Max free doesn’t go all the way west what if he gets what if he what what if he picks a destination on the journey West Texas being one of them A’s after signing srino still want to add another starter according to sources but if they sign another free agent likely be a lesser some tricks up his sleeve what would be a crazy AJ preier prediction besides Roki do you trade Louisa rise a lot of talk about that if you can’t get a contract done with him Lisa rise is do a lot of money do you try to trade Louisa rise what about this oneyear deals something I need something you need could Houston and San Diego pull a trade together Houston looking for you know first baseman Luis arise come on down Luis arise be your first baseman in Houston FR Valdez goes out and solidifies the rotation in San Diego now other pieces would need to be involved but that sounds kind of AJ PR like cuz the rotation for San Diego is not going to cut it so that’s where if they have if he has a trick up his sleeve it’s in the rotation with no Musgrove and cease clearly an up and down guy you’re going to get months where Dylan CE is pitching like an Ace and then you’re going to get months where Dylan CE is pitching like a number three he’s not said it and forget it a number one Michael King yeah I don’t know if he’s that yet either and you darish is only getting older that’s the core of your rotation next year doesn’t cut it especially when you’re trying to compete with the Dodgers so if he has anything any tricks up his sleeve it has to be in the rotation and when I’m trying to think about pieces that he has that he could dangle and deal Luis arise comes to mind you’re not going to deal any of the big contracts you’re not going to find a taker for Jake konorth the value isn’t High Enough you can’t you’re not going to definitely not going to trade Nando um yeah I feel like that’s probably the play uh from a free agent standpoint if he’s going to get creative it’s going to be for somebody that’s not going to really excite the fan base it’ll be somebody like Lorenzen or Heeney somebody like that and again that’s not going to fire up the fan base and that’s not that’s not going to really uh raise the the ceiling so the Angels want to spend more money which we knew that Jeff Pon told us that uh the angels are trying to get their payroll up uh trying to get to $100 million in payroll so they’re looking to that someone’s going to get overpaid if you are looking at that middle tier Market get your guys now man because the A’s are probably going to overpay Lance L Kyle Gibson or Andrew Haney if that’s what it ends up being and it is he’s not saying it’s going to be one of those three he is saying that it is it could be one of those three they’re probably going to get overpaid A’s need to add significant payroll or risk a grievance from the mlbpa it remains to be seen however if they will approach the $ 130 to $150 million range they projected for their ramp up yeah I feel like they probably get to about a 100 but it’s going to require overpaying some guys uh laptop guy Louis arise is not a good uh metrics player that’s why more would have to be involved and and more from San Diego going to Houston San Diego would have to include a prospect to get that deal done all right third base is another area of need for the A’s Alec bone Brett batty among players at that position available in trade we’ve been talking about Brett batty being trade bait for months now Marlins finally finally and marosi said it earlier but finally we have some Jesus lazardo trade talk it took way too long Marlins open to trading Jesus Lardo John marosi mentioned at Monday that Lardo is drawing interest Lardo 27 projected to earn 6 million in arbitration should make him the second highest paid Mar behind Sandy alantra who’s 16 or on his way to 16 is Sandy making 16 this year I think he is like alcra who’s recovering from TJ lardo’s trade value might be higher at the deadline or in spring training if lazardo goes out there in February and March and is looking lights out I could see similar to how uh Dylan CE was traded late um this would be later than that but I could see Lardo getting traded before the season starts after he has shown in spring training that he’s back and he’s he’s thrown gas so don’t know if the losardo trade gets done during the winter meetings don’t know if theard trade gets done in December at all that may be a late later in the off season or as we are starting spring training next uh in 2025 what would it take to get crochet in a Padre’s uniform could areas be a three-way trade would that make Padre’s a 88 win team next year Matthew thank you for the donation Let’s uh let’s do something we don’t usually do this I don’t know if it’s going to work
