all right that game is late tonight it is also in Palm Springs in another one of the PODS of this acur sure tournament to get the sponsor in it is New Mexico and Arizona State uh this evening fascinating matchup from this standpoint both of these teams have won some interesting games at the beginning of the year Gonzaga obviously beat Arizona State Mexico beaten by St John’s in the patino versus patino game uh but this is uh this is an interesting neutral floor game again in Palm Springs all right the line is four New Mexico favored by four the total is 159 and a half Jeff n start the conversation here on uh New Mexico and Arizona state if you would yeah my first thought was over I mean I I I think I I assume this number will be 158 is 159 and and that’s where it is I mean you have two teams one of which in in New Mexico that’s GNA play lightning fast I mean they’re one of the fastest Tempo teams in the country Arizona state has kind of let teams dictate pace and do what they want to do uh Arizona State’s not exactly slow either I mean they’re going pretty fast uh to start out the season 125 and adjusted Tempo uh and again it’s on defense they’re kind of letting you run what you want to run and we’ve seen them get punked a couple of times this year uh defensively this is a group that gave up 89 last came out against calp uh Gonzaga put up 88 on them New Mexico is downhill you get to the free throw line uh just kind of a frenetic pace and Arizona state has been a willing participant in that as well first thought was over uh late night and again uh for New Mexico they they’ve won a couple of easy games since the loss to St John’s at the Garden a couple of weekends ago and for this ASU team uh we mentioned the loss to Gonzaga we we did discuss their game Matt Cox with Grand Canyon that they won in the downtown Phoenix Suns Arena since then they’ve beaten St Thomas of Minnesota and calp the calp win was a narrow four-point uh win uh in that one all right thoughts on this this is the last game of the night 8:30 Pacific Time long after you’ve ingested the second helping of the turkey the ham The Leftovers the carcass is is starting to smell up the house you got this one tonight with Arizona State and New Mexico Matt any thoughts on this one yeah I mean if you’re going to back a team here I kind of lean toward Arizona State they’ve played two neutral sight games they looked great in both and back to my TCU Point um you know they that’s sort I guess going against that is the fact that they’ve been off for over a week so I like that they’ve proven Arizona say that they’ve been good on neutrals twice this season um but again I think a week of rest at this point in the year isn’t exactly what you want I think rest means more later in the year early in the year it tends to work against you um New Mexico did not look good at the Garden they got punked by by uh Daddy and St John’s as they started chanting who’s your daddy late in that game Arizona State though they’re not going to crush you at The Rim that’s where I think New Mexico’s a little bit weak right now is they didn’t have they didn’t have the size up front to really keep St John’s off the glass they got just crushed on the boards Arizona State though was more of a talent skill type team much like I think New Mexico is new mexo a little more defensive pressure inducing driven Arizona State more skill uh pacing space offensive driven I’m sort of with TJ it does feel like this game gets really up and down really frenetic um I would worry about the efficiency though some of the shot selection can’t get really dicey these are not two teams that take the best shots always so um I think it’s a good live betting game TJ if you’re going to sit and watch this game maybe halftime maybe sometime during the first half if one team gets up 10 or more think you see some really volatile in-game swings in this one I’m I’m just putting out a hypothetical n loves when I do this you know like if you have the Dolphins uh in the Thursday night game with the Packers and it ain’t going so well you you turn your focus uh here to this to Mexico and Arizona state if you’re a college basketball fan because again it’s the last game of the night the winner of this game will get the winner of Southern Cal and St Mary’s who are playing earlier in the evening again in the different pod of that tournament in Palm Springs what kind of atmosphere is going to be in there especially late night did Arizona State travel some people did New Mexico travel some people that will be in there making some noise we will find out late tonight the guys gave you some good thoughts on that on Bobby Hurley and Richard patino here in this matchup this evening for New Mexico and Arizona state with [Music] I
