Thursday um but Outfield is so much fun we’re going to get through the top 12 hopefully today maybe go a little bit further let’s see how things go uh but Matt take it away uh why don’t we uh start talking about some 2025 Outfield it’s gonna be a great episode man yeah also an announcement too because we’re doing these episodes it forced me to do my rankings so you know what that means subtext you will be getting our rank at least my rankings I don’t know if Dom’s ready yet but my rankings December 1st I’m going to release our first ones so guys you get a free two weeks might as well hop in there at least see what we’re working with um let’s check it out but all right let’s dive into Today’s Show and um you know I gave a lot of hate last year uh I um was scared to to draft this player but I think that um this year we now have to um give it to him and all right for Mr Aaron judge um Aaron judge obviously has now just said hey look I’m going to be healthy I’m going to figure out how to play through it which he finally manned up and put his big boy pants on and said yo I’m gonna be a beast and you know just do his thing you know that toe injury is always going to linger where you know at some point it could take him out for maybe a couple weeks but I think they’ve got a handle on it at least for now um you know there’s always that chance but you know you can’t draft based off of you know what could could have would or should have been because now he’s proven that he can do this even while having this injury so now we kind of we have a lot more information so I feel a lot stronger about drafting him and I I have him as my off1 um he’s not like the number one pick overall for me but he’s damn near close he’s I think in the top three or four for me um in general in ter of all of baseball but for Aaron judge for me with the two seasons back toback of not only you know playing playing quite playing pretty healthy I mean granted you know 2023 played about 106 games but still funny enough the one of the best players in baseball which is kind of scary still had more home runs than most people have in entire season um you know I feel like even if he does that it’s still a good Baseline because the stats in 2023 were just as Bonkers and if he plays a full 50 a full 160 games then you’re going to have this kind of MVP level Aaron judge is totally worth it at this point you know you just literally the only thing you have to pray when you pick him is please do not get hurt in September you know go ahead ahead and get hurt in April go ahead and get hurt in June July August whatever but just don’t be hurt in September and you still are going to benefit from him to get a championship you know what I’m saying so like Aaron judge for me is finally a locked in loaded player for 3 at age 33 this year which is absolutely crazy too that he’s that old um but he’s still playing like a top-notch player I don’t think we got much longer with him being you know this Elite level but I think we got at least two more years before we start seeing this drop off um Aaron judge is going to be absolutely incredible in 2025 yeah man great breakdown on Judge I also have Aaron judge rank as my number one outfielder heading into you know 2025 he finished the season um on Yahoo once again you know I preface this when we do our EP uh position you know episodes uh you know Matt and I specialize in five by five head-to-head categories leag so we’re talking about our rankings that’s you know where our rankings are based on we’ll always give you a little bit of a points League Spin and you know a straight Roto spin as well but Jud did finish the season number one in 5 by five head tohe head categories for leagues um you know judge plays for those New York Yankees in case you guys forgot 122 runs 58 homers 144 RB 10 steals 322 batting average Matt you broke him down really good um he still sits at the top literally 100 percentile on every hard hit category bad speed every underlying stat that you want to see um so we still like it from Aaron judge the thing is the Sprint speed slowing down a little bit I’m not expecting him to you know steal 10 bases again you know if he steals five you know we’re going to be lucky with that I don’t I I thought maybe you know after we saw that 2022 season where he’s still 16 thought maybe there was a little bit of speed in them but not really you know he’s too big the Yankees aren’t gonna let him run around like that uh but Matt great breakdown not gonna say too much else here on Aaron judge you know a great great great player take him in the top of the first round in 2025 and you’ll be very happy with the results uh let’s move on to my number two outfielder Matt I think we we fall in sync with this guy here too it’s Kyle Tucker uh monster season for Tucker then he got hurt and uh I just frankly going to say it the Astros lied to us they were saying ah he’s going to be out a week and then he’s going to be out two weeks and then you know it just turned into he missed pretty much the rest of the season at that point uh Tucker did play 78 games though he had 277 at bats 56 runs 13 doubles 23 homers 49 RBI 11 steals 56 walks to 54 strikeouts and a 289 batting average Kyle Tucker at age 27 was going to have the best season of his career it wasn’t even a question um he probably would have finished right there with judge you know as the one of the top judge and stto as one of the top outfielders 3030 is easily in the cards honestly the way that he was hitting the ball 35 Plus homers is in the cards I think for Tucker I love what he brings to the table I yeah I I I if you guys are watching on YouTube you see Matt pointing up I there really there’s there’s a there’s a world where Kyle Tucker just dominates and and really can finish as a number one outfielder I I love everything about him I don’t think we should be shy uh you know he’s been a very very healthy player before this past season so Kyle Tucker I’m all in on him I don’t really think there’s too much else to add here but very very safe bet and there’s a lot of upside still with Tucker yeah so like I love this kid I honestly will not be surprised in 2026 if we’re drafting him as a number one player overall let’s put it that way that is my projection for next year for him maybe a little bold but actually I don’t think it’s that bold at this point the scariest thing is he played he missed July and August and pretty much most of June and when he came back in September he hit four home runs he let picked up right where he left off he’s incredible that puts his home run numbers for the year at 23 and he only played 277 at bats and at 78 games like okay you still had more than a half a season left to go that pace is 46 if you literally just double it on top of that you know let’s let’s just be a little realistic he’s not hitting 46 but 40 I think is well within the realm and honestly the speed is there too where we might even see which this is little bit more unlikely a 4040 season um he’s got the wheels all the Astros have to do is just give him more of a green light to go and I think he can then be there which is wild we’re splitting Harris here of like okay who’s the top but Kyle Tucker is an elite pick and for us to not to over to not pick him this high is going to be just a shame at guy you got it so Mr uh Ju too and quite honestly man this dude is just looking to get paid but I think he also is going to go to a contender now what are the um what are the options for wano where do we think he’s gonna land obviously Yankees are still in play uh unfortunately I I I don’t know if he’s actually going to make it back there unfortunately but we’ll see uh likely also Landing spots are the Mets there’s the the Dodgers of course there Red Sox the Red Sox Red Sox he’s meeting with all all the teams and you know we’ll see where he eventually lands but he’s looking to get paid 450 million 500 million is is the ballpark that I heard was being thrown around as long as long as he goes anywhere with Boston I um I’ll feel the best about it like out of the B contenders that are in for it like even the Mets are still a little bit shaky for me because just how that team functions and like the the still the elusiveness of where you know Alonzo is going to be you know Alonzo leaves and he goes to the Mets then that fantasy value kind of dips a little bit as well so like I’d love to see him return to the Yankees because at least he’ll be in a lineup with judge and then Dominguez and then Stanton like there’s there’s options around he goes to the Dodgers obviously it’s going to be just yeah I’m gonna be deflated um but it for Fantasy wise though it’s going to be absolutely incredible I think if anything he goes up to number one o if he actually goes to the Dodgers I think he’ll surpass judge because there’s a season where he might have like 140 runs in ribbies because team is just stacked from top to finish at this point um so it’s just really just a matter of where he lands is where it’s going to be but he’s pretty much a locked and loaded you know top three outfielder and top 10 pick in your fantasy drafts no matter where slice it and dice it yeah I think I think we’ll see these top three outfielders we talk about all first round picks honestly I I I truly feel it’s going to be like a matter of where you’re you’re picking in the draft I think judges is going to be the top guy and then I I think you will see a lot of debate between Tucker and Soto I think Soto is the safer one we know who Soto is um he’s been very consistent throughout his career one down year um Tucker you know not that he’s inconsistent at all but just I think the safety of stto you know is going to be where you’re gonna see the debate between the two of them if you favor one or the other I’m not going to blame you but let’s just talk about the the Soto’s career year with the Yankees last season he played 157 games had 576 at bats 128 runs 31 doubles four triples 41 home runs a career high 109 RBI he sold seven bags had 129 walks to 119 strikeouts so your points leagues players I think he moves up in points leagues and he hit 288 stto is always going to be a guy that’s going to give you a great batting average with good amount of power and I think no matter where he goes the counting stats are going to be really good um I think just another guy we draft him with confidence I don’t think there’s much you know reason to spend too much time here on stto unless we want to speculate about the landing spots which um love to see him come back to the Yankees as Matt said uh Red Sox you know had a good meeting with him I heard the Dodgers are going to dodge her you know I wouldn’t be shocked if he signs there as deflating as Matt you know said it would be which is the truth um and then I think that the dark horses the Toronto Blue Jays have been talking about being very aggressive of getting him if you put him in that lineup with Vlad and you know maybe bashet has a little bit of a bounce back I could see things working out but I think yeah I think that’s the I I think that’s you know probably the worst landing spot out of all the teams that we have discussed but as we were talking about those Dodgers uh let’s move into this next guy Matt correct me if you’re wrong I think we’re in sync through these top four right in our rankings yeah yeah so movement at some point but not today yeah so we’re in sync through our top four in our 2025 Outfield rankings we got mooki bets up next at four you know plays for those Los Angeles Dodgers of course um dealt with a little bit of injury this past season only played 116 games 450 at B though 75 runs 24 doubles five triples 19 home run runs 75 RBI 16 steals he hit 289 Mookie Betts will be 32 this upcoming year I I think I don’t think he’s lost a step or anything yet uh you know underlying stuff really still you know likes mookie bets um I I think a 30 plus Homer season with 100 and you know 10 to 15 steals with a good batting average is always in play with mookie bets here’s the thing though I will preface this if Ronald aunia is healthy going into opening day I think this is where I I might make the switch I think this is where you start thinking about okay even though aunu wasn’t playing the best going into you know wal he was healthy in 2024 we all still know what aunia is and I think those top three players are you know safe enough that we can hold off on aunia there but this is where I start to Teeter a little bit uh you know in um in my rankings uh Matt I don’t know if you feel the same here I know mooki bets is great and he’s safe but he’s getting a little bit older and I’m not sure what I’m not sure about this one uh I mean so Muki bets is also my number four I don’t think akuni is in my contention to move up higher than where I have him truthfully um just because we’ve already seen him get the knee injury um and what that season looked like the following year when he returned right the power was pretty much that but the speed was there um so it’s just really just a matter of that but I want go back and circle back the guy we’re actually talking about is Mookie bets he’s a safe option for for me there I think that he’s been consistent you know you’re guaranteed runs in rib’s comp contribution every single year it’s not like he’s you know if it wasn’t for the injury he still was on a 30 home run Pace you know he’s definitely worth the pick and you know it is what it is at this point it’s just a really you’re you’re splitting hairs but it the only other guy I have which is my next guy this is where we start differentiating is for me at least it’s uh Fernando tatis is who I have right after um Fernando tatis for me at least I think there’s a little bit more on the upside aspect of you know you want to go when you’re splitting hairs at this point okay do you want the higher end seal or do you want the safety and in the first round it’s really just a matter of what you’re wanting but you’re also splitting hairs too because they come with a solid you know Foundation anyway where the Baseline isn’t too far off it’s just a matter of how high end is that and that’s where I mookie bets for me right now is higher um whereas Fernando tatis the floor isn’t as good because he doesn’t have the team around him like Mookie Betts does right so the padr keep on those Padres those Padres are pretty competitive man Padres are good but the the thing is though like the name and the Star Wars and the guys that the consistently at the top that are on the Dodgers versus the guys over at the P don’t give you a floor of like a guaranteed like you play 500 a bat you get 500 a bats you’re probably going to walk away with like 100 100 in terms of runs and rips whereas like with the Padres you play as many at bats you’ll probably see anywhere from 85 to 93 on a on on an average season right so like that is the big and then the ceiling play is maybe 100 and 100 where the ceiling play is for mookie bets at like 120 and 120 so like that is the difference but Fernando tatis the reason why he’s up here and he’s higher than other guys is the stolen base aspect of it he still hits for average not as good as mukie bets but pretty good and on top of that he has 30 30 stolen base upside he does that and he’s probably one of the he’s a top top three guy on the season this year but he’s just he hasn’t been able to do it he also hasn’t been able to stay healthy he also has a little mental issues so there’s a little bit more risk going on with him but honestly at the end of the day Fernando tatis for me is somebody I’m definitely picking you know amongst other talents because I do see all the upside in the world and this is kind of a ceiling play with a pretty safe floor well Matt with that being said you know we are definitely goingon to get into my opinion on Fernando tatis Jr because I I do want to take some time and get into tatis here but guys you’re gonna have to stay locked on for that which is coming every way you can [Music] all right Matt I’m gonna jump back in here because I do want to talk about tatis a little bit and you know what Matt you’re right um I I’m I’m with you on tatis I think I need to move them up and this is why we do this you know if you guys listen to these episodes you know this is why we do this kind of work and I went on a tangent the last episode I believe or the episode before so I’m not going to do it again today but do this kind of homework Find find a friend like you know I’m lucky very lucky to have Matt as you know one of my best friends if not literally my best friend um that we can that that we can sit down and we can honestly like it it helped so much to have these open and honest conversations literally before the episode Matt and I were literally like you know nitpicking each other’s rankings and helping each other out and that’s really that’s why Matt and I do so well in fantasy baseball you know we dominate all of our leagues because we share the information and it’s like you know like almost like a hive mind at a certain point but let’s talk about tatis right I think we forget that tatis was the number one overall Prospect in baseball for a long time um he has the power he has the speed let’s look at the underlying stuff right the underlying stuff they love him in the batting irage Department he’s a guy that always had the batting average Talent he can hit 300 I’m not banking on it but he has the upside of hitting 300 um he’s hit 42 home runs in 130 games before so not even a full season 130 games 478 at bats in 2021 he have 42 homers and still 25 bags when it comes to Sprint speed he’s almost 80th percenti in Sprint speed he’s very fast so you’re talking about a guy 40 plus homers 30 plus deals a 300 batting average and I truly think um I think the I think the Padres signed another bat this off season you know they got the lineup looking something like Aras tatis Merill Machado cronenworth Bogarts after that it gets a little bit shaky but you know what they lose um um uh they lose Hassan Kim so I think they’re going to want to put another bat in this lineup too I think that’s only going to help tatis honestly if you want to move tatis up to four Matt I think that’s well yeah Matt you have at five right uh yeah I do yeah so honestly if you want to have tatis at four or five right behind SoDo or bets whatever your preference is I’m not going to blame you honestly I probably see myself moving him maybe at maybe to five myself maybe right behind bets maybe ahead of bets got to do a little bit more deep diving but Matt I love the take on tatis here um I’ve talked a lot though I don’t know if you want to get into who you have up next um or whoever you want to talk about on this list talk about where you have them ranked uh go ahead my brother all right so I did make an adjustment um M live live show so um because this is this is the time of the year where I do that um and as I start breaking these players down that’s what happen so I moved yon Alvarez up um yordon is somebody that you know we all know what the what where’ you move him up to Matt where’d you move him up to six at alfield um in some platforms he may not be available and then this conversation is kind of irrelevant but at least you know what you can kind of still have no he he got 53 games he got 53 great games at Outfield he should be there on every platform thank Jesus okay so he is somebody that we all know what the upside is right when he plays a full season which this season he actually really did he I mean he missed what 13 games I’m not mad at this still man to put up 552 at bats had the 88 runs had the 34 doubles the two triples the 35 bombs the 86 ribs six St bases walk strikeouts awesome like 69 walks and 95 strikeouts I’m not mad at that bat at 300 you know had a slug of 567 an Ops of 959 like he had a really good season this is the season that we’ve always expected but the thing is like he does he does a lot more with less too like he’s guaranteed 30 home runs whether he pays 400 at bats or 600 you know that’s just yordon Alvarez the thing is too like this season would have been a lot better if the Astros looked the way they have over the last couple years so if the Astros kind of snap back and make make adjustments the upside is even higher so that’s why I moved them up and he’s another one just like judge even though you’re talking like you know this is like judge not even millerite I would say ultral light like m a little ultra um but Alvarez has all that all that things where like okay look he plays even he this is he gets 500 or 400 bats and you’re still not mad with the total season numbers especially like playing out RTO leagues but even so you just want to pray he’s healthy in in in September and you stand a shot at winning so I’m picking him higher than than the Ronald aun is than than the other players out there because then it gets a little bit more dicer and risky actually this year at Outfield it’s actually a lot more slim picking there’s a lot more risk and reward kind of type deal than solid solidified players that’s why like a guy like yordon is finally up at this top six yeah Matt literally as you were talking about yon I was moving him up myself so um yeah you know what like like I said this is why we do these episodes and like you know as you’re listening along you should you know yourself um have our rankings pulled up on subtext when they come out um you guys should have you know all sorts of stats and stuff and just be following along you know and like I said find a friend you can talk to about all this stuff but yon High batting average guy a lot of power the counting stats are always going to be good I actually I did a little bit of adjusting so I’ll read off my my rankings real quick as to where we’re at I have judge at one tuer at two Soto at three I move tatis up to four yordon up to five bets fell down to six and Akuna fell down to seven um I I I I just love the consistency of yordon that’s why I pushed him up um tatis the upside his upside is right there with a Kyle Tucker it basically he could have the same kind of season so I moved him up as well um and then I I don’t think we’re gonna spend so much time here on your da I think Matt you broke him down very good let’s talk about auna I wantan to I want to talk about auna before we wrap this show up um the thing with aunia is if he comes back and and he’s healthy we have we have evidence of what he can be we seen him do this before U mat mentioned it briefly um you know as we were talking about him a little bit earlier but you know he got hurt it was back in 2020 um 2020 uh what M what year did he get hurt again oh gez I’m blanking here it was it was 2021 he got hurt in 21 he got hurt in 21 he came back in 2022 played 119 games he had 15 homers and 29 steals so we could see that power average right if he does play 150 games this year if he hits 25 home runs and steals like 50 bases I could see him having like an Ellie deor Cruz kind of season go look at what Ellie deor Cruz did this past season maybe a little bit less deals from auna but you know what I I think that’s what we could see um I still there’s still upside of him just being a monster because that’s what auna is he was going to be 27 this upcoming season still in the prime of his career but I’m just not banking on him coming out there and being Ronald dunia but you know what if you draft him and you can get him in the second round this year and and there’s a chance he’s the best player in all of baseball um I I just want to see a little bit first that’s why I do have him ranked at seven at Outfield yeah so like I have him at seven as well so now we’re aligned after not being aligned because thiso work we lined it back up we lined it back up yeah so I look at him and I just go he has two brand new knees now um 2021 it was the right one now it’s the left one hey maybe maybe this is what he needs but you know I’m game I’d like to see I I like the compa ell De La Cruz I think he actually did a great breakdown of him but it just that season does not get him that high right awesome Elite steel numbers it just doesn’t get him high I have a feeling I’m Gonna Keep moving him down I think he’s gonna be more like a top 10 and and the bra the Braves did the Braves did come out and say that him and Strider most likely aren’t going to be ready for opening day so we are going to be without aunia for some time that’s already been announced so I take that into consideration as you are drafting too but then it’s just the upside man because if he keeps falling down draft boards at a certain point you have to take him at a certain point you don’t pass up Ronald aunia like if he’s there if if I’m in if I’m if I’m staring him down the third round I’m taking him I don’t think he’s gonna fall that far but if aun is there in the third round you take him I’m leaving it at that I’m leaving it at that I’m there with you I mean look I once I get like they say it but there’s always improvements right now I’m doing it as these rankings are as if he’s their opening day um you know we’re in January and you I’m probably going to adjust a little bit more he’s probably going to follow more but I have a feeling he’ll probably still be a top 10 but he’s probably going to be number 10 at the Outfield with a a month missing is probably what I would expect I should have factored that into my rankings I apologize guys but I’m gonna move on I think this is a dead story at this point we’ve kind of beat this with a yeah you know beat the roadkill off the side with a with a stick essentially U let’s move on um let’s talk about a very controversial one um Corbin Carrol he’s who’s next to me I have him at eight I believe and yeah I do and here’s the thing with Corbin Caroll he had probably the biggest bust in fantasy plat in fantasy sports I think ever he’s up there with the running back from the Broncos back in like 2013 I can’t think of his name right now um where it was so bad you picked him in the first round then he completely flopped it’s the same thing here but I don’t the difference is though that dude came out of nowhere I think Corbin Carol was the number one Prospect in baseball I think we just had a sophomore slump and you know there’s a reason why there’s a saying for it right sometimes guys come out in their sophomore year and things just don’t click whether that’s adjustments trying to adjust to the big league Talent or something else going on in your life right like like you know you you’re now the new face of baseball essentially because he’s one of the best players in baseball after his rookie season so bless you the um that is kind of where I’m at with him and on top of that what I saw at at the latter half in August gave me a glimpse of what he really is and is August is what I’m going to hang on to so in August he had you know 100 at bats he had 30 runs he had a double four triples 11 bombs 24 ribs two stolen bases and he batted 280 September wasn’t bad either you know he had he had 13 stolen bases in that time yeah he batted 245 but I feel like he was getting getting it finally going at the end of the season last year and you know that’s all I need to see is a guy that you know struggled all season starts turning it around towards the end then I’m like okay cool we’re going to get him at a discount this year we’re going to still focus on him I don’t think he’ll be a first round pick but he’s sitting there in the second I’m smashing that that that that uh that draft button every single time because I have a feeling it’s G to be ridiculous yeah Matt I have Corbin carolot nine um one spot under where you have him it was it was a pretty disappointing season I can’t lie to you we did Rebound in the second half if you did trade for him you know he did play pretty well in that second half so that probably worked out for you um but he was down in every category pretty much he was down in every single category um except the runs which were really good um I still think there’s upside I don’t know if it’s like you know top five Outfield or upside anymore I think he might just live around this like 10 spot at Outfield uh the batting average never the the underlying stuff never loved him it didn’t even love him last year and uh you know batting average that he was only expected to hit 268 in 2023 when he had the monster season so if Tucker I mean not Tucker if Carol winds up being more of like a 260 hitter with like 40 Steals and 20ish home runs it’s not going to be as sexy as we originally thought I think he draft draft Corbin car with a little bit of caution this year but
