was that the performance that you wanted to end the year on oh definitely wasn’t the energy he wanted to have in in a game like that uh officially full respect to a very um physical extremely passionate and um tough Italian team put a lot of pressure on us um just kept rising up didn’t they through the game so well done to them and um gono you know the team he’s just shows how much advancement 10 rugby um made was a hell of a game yeah why why did the All Blacks lack energy uh it’s a good question uh yeah look we did everything we possibly could to get to to this point I obviously named a really strong team because we knew how tough it was we knew it would be we knew that they would um Italians would be um you know in a 65 M field wide and a little bit of due the context are going to be high and [Music] um yeah we KN knew it was going to be a tough game does it have anything to do with how long the season was are you thinking now that maybe those five or six players that you’d contemplated starting ahead of the ones that did maybe should have played uh right now no Scott can I just ask about uh TJ and the hucker and he uh had a little speech at the beginning where he mentioned whever T did he talk to you about that before the game how did that discussion come about yeah uh TJ was um he’s a car this week and as a leader they get the opportunity to yeah say something did he run what he was going to say past you he he he did um he said he was going to lead and say a we Mi did he tell you specifically what he was going to say did you know he was going to say something about the Treaty um I guess it was a message of of unity and that’s um what he yeah he said so Razer it felt like a stop start yeah game is that your sense and and was it a struggle to to get into from a team perspective yeah look one thing we’ve realized coming north you know with with the stop with t football where it is with TMO and the stop start games and had to get the flow and fatigue and and the uh you know we’ like to get a little bit more Pace play with a bit of ball um bit a little bit more ball uh so the entirety of the Test match you know ball and play it varies week to week especially on a night like this with just a little bit of a greasy ball and and stop and checks but that’s that’s test 40 that’s going to happen you got to react to what’s in front of you you got to find a way you know said pie was especially as scrum was really strong and a big turning point for us um we know why France and and Scotland you know we we we we we when you review you always review on their best game teams on their best games and we knew on the night if they they come physically it was the best test team this year that they put out since those games Italy that was going to be a hell of a contest at the breakdown and sure was what did you learn from that 80 minutes about your team uh look the whole sort of mindset was to finish well and you but to do that you got to start well and and they started well and then keep them in the game and we fought you know look I’m just really proud of the defense on the goal line um when the crowd like last week when the crowd come involved and the emotions change and they just rise and um you’ve just got to stick at these games sometimes it’s not perfect sometimes it’s not pretty but you got to be stubborn and and find a way how do you look back at the season that’s been you know an hour or so after fulltime in your last game oh couple days in the sun to probably give you the deepest review to be fair but um I think I think prob probably the entirety of the Test match how test matches for the season how close it is you know three test matches that came down to you know a one score game and how moments in in those games how important they are uh how you deal with referees on field how you how you you manage test rugby um you know Scott would have learned a lot and I’ve learned a lot around it so that’s the big learnings of this year Razer you mentioned in the postmatch broadcast that the the mindset wasn’t quite right tonight it was a little bit off do you mind expanding a little bit on on that yeah I think when you normally we you know we run those collisions all year really um portions of some games we haven’t but for tonight we just didn’t fail like you can sort of tell with the ball carry and um just a little bit of height and they they they choked us up and slowed our ball down and you know mindset leads onto structure and we probably didn’t quite get that struct school set part right and would you put that down to maybe a a preparation thing or a person what sort of yeah reflection right now um oh look we uh hope May’s all right um I hope yeah I feel look we did everything de fresh we named a great you know Squad we wanted to give everyone the cohesion and an opportunity to go out and perform and play because essentially this is the toughest game you know for for us at the in the 14 test you know so um that’s how we felt about it and uh we thought we prepared pretty well yeah and um just looking back at the season as a whole where you started against England in in July and to now there any areas you can identify at the moment sort of where perhaps you weren’t quite up to stand at the start of the Year where you’ve made great strides um it’s uh I think I mentioned it before I sort of repeat my answer that was before around you know um game management moments in games um your ability to to get impact um when you need it uh the balance of um your selections lots of little things you know that’s a big one for us you the first time you you do something’s always the hardest and you know we we’ve learned along the way and um you know 120 nights later we we’re sitting here 20 you and and you learn a lot about test footy
