next up Davidson and Arizona up for a discussion and uh Arizona when we saw them recently beaten by Duke uh and this matchup again has Arizona favored by 15 and a half with a total of 153 in this one Matt Cox you’re going to have the official play all right what’s the lowdown on where this this one is I got to keep track of all the neutral floors home Games Etc give me more on Arizona Davidson and why you like this one uh for today yeah first one of the battle for Atlanta so I think if you uh any of the venue Ballroom uh background Oddities that are going to affect shooting or offense I think you’ll see it play out in this first game and generally that tends to always favor the underdog right ugly low-scoring game um I like catching the points I’m sorry this is the last game so this is you’ll kind of see this play the first game yeah the last game tonight so hopefully we see some of that evidence early where this might play well toward the under for the exception of Cory corby’s best bet of course Oklahoma Providence right before this game um but I do think a t to fav of the dog the market has bet this total down 155 to 152 so there are some short people out there that do think this is a lower scoring game than what was initially priced Davidson you know just from a a team to team perspective they’ve been really solid this season I think they have some young dudes who have really stepped in and added some dynamism to a team that was was relatively vanilla last year they execute well under mckellop last year they had a problem taking care of the ball I think they’ve corrected that this season they have some size up front and Arizona I know it’s a pretty good spot for them coming off uh you know two tough losses to start the year they do need to start adding some meat tear their to their resume I think they get a win here but I don’t think they beat Davidson by margin a team that’s kind of a tough prep a lot of back Cuts Arizona will come out and pressure on the perimeter they they like to get up into you if davidon just takes Arizona out of transition I don’t see this being a situation where Arizona can really balloon the margin um I just thought 15 was way too many for a team that’s playing really solid and Davidson yes the athleticism Gap could be seismic but I think there’s enough length like I said size up front in the Middle where Davidson can at least control the glass and control the pace and keep this kind of nip and Tuck U maybe you get kind of a rusty Arizona team flying from that West part of the country over to the Bahamas in this first game so I’ll take Davidson plus 15 plus 16 Davidson first four opponents as you alluded to William pce that’s a school Bowling Green East Tennessee State VMI slight step up to Caleb love and Arizona but what about the cats here Corby Craig beaten by 20 by Wisconsin in a in a true Wisconsin home game not a neutral floor game and then Duke came into the mcale center and beat them the other night uh and handled them for a lot of that second half all right what to make of this as Arizona comes all the way to the Bahamas here for tonight anything including on the total yeah it’s an interesting Davidson team who uh a couple things I’ve talked about this like playing a big number for a team that doesn’t shoot a lot of Threes it’s really hard like usually if you’re playing this like massive mismatch and talent you’re going to want to take as many twos as possible they’re going to be the most efficient shots you possibly can uh and Arizona does that so this looks like it would feel the niche of I like to back favorites big like the Georgetown back in the day um back in the day was like last week TJ so uh i i in theory the me Patrick Ying you don’t mean Patrick Ying back in the day back before you were born I understand yes no not not quite there uh more like a week ago it was you know was a fun bet I don’t even remember who they’re playing at this point too much basketball um but I look at this game and I don’t think that’s the case Davidson has a ton of size like Matt talks about this is this is a team that’s going to be really hard to press margin on Arizona loves to run the pace they R love to just toss in like a random press to try to speed up offenses uh the issue is like the easiest way to break press is is passes above the headline just right over the defense and continue your offense as if they’re not there they have plenty of size also did not realize Trey Townson still plays basketball he is uh he is seeing minutes for Arizona as a starter I I mean kenpom says this is his fifth year I think I’m gonna call BS on that I feel like this is like hun Dickson he’s been around for like 10 years Trey Townsen was the big man for the Horizon League champions the Oakland Grizzlies that upset Kentucky they won the conference tournament so correct now at Ariz basketb player a good basketball player but at 25 I don’t know or 27 or 29 years old or whatever he is I don’t know if he is good enough to be um that big of a differential versus a Davidson team who has the size to kind of toss bodies against him so agree to the dog um I could see this being an over type of game Matt brings up a lot of good points as to like what is the care in the Bahamas you get some college teams but uh Le toward the dark I think you’re getting a pretty good price at 15 and a half and this is the night session at the B at the battle for Atlantis uh for Arizona and Davidson and will’ll lock Matt Cox in with the pooch with the Davidson Wildcats as the dog he says give me them and off the BET us line 15 and a half on the neutral floor for tonight [Music]
