alrighty what’s up everybody welcome to this week’s episode of Ben in the booth podcast just going to get everything set up and we’ll be ready to go hope everyone’s day going well weeks going well weekend going well got we’ve got stuff to talk about gonna start with college football and we’ll get into everything else including a rant though not directly on the Browns you’ll see what I mean uh momentarily uh but got a whole lot to talk about because this what I have uncovered is rediculous ridiculous and I’m not going to play the audio for it but uh I’m definitely going to mention it because someone went a Steelers fan went too far after the game which by the way I posted a me reaction to the brown Steelers Thursday night football game so if you haven’t checked it out it’s both in my YouTube shorts and on my Tik Tok so go check it out either on the YouTube page or in my uh Tik Tok when you get a chance if you haven’t seen it yet rankings are about to come out it’s just uh want to get after right after a college basketball game that’s wrapping up as we speak between Memphis and uh Michigan State also this is the last episode for me before my birthday as Saturday is my birthday 25 which is crazy to be saying also uh next Tuesday I don’t know or next week I don’t know when I’m going to do the episode because Tuesday night I’m going to be at the next magic NBA Cup game uh but I will figure it out okay last sense you open you open just waiting for rankings to start what’s up everybody welcome back to this week’s episode of the podcast episode 149 thank you all so much for the support to this point I very much do appreciate it it uh I have already done the daily games to this point so I won’t be doing that for this episode uh so no walk-off or Grid or uh strike zone or batter up today um let’s just dive into college football because we had a crazy weekend with college football Madness craziness expected results unexpected results let’s get right into it Indiana Ohio State this is going to be Indiana’s big test to see are they legit for the playoffs not they went cup hook they scored first and never was the same the rest of the way and pretty much a point and I didn’t watch the game because was on chabas or Sabbath but the point that told me why Ohio State won was the fact that Ohio state was in a third and 35 and two plays later got got into a first down as it went from a third and 35 to F fourth and 10 to eventually a first down that already told me why Ohio State won that game you cannot give that up to a team like Ohio State if you’re Indiana I don’t care how good your season been that is the worst thing you could give to a team at all no matter what quarter of the game also Ohio state had a punt return touchdown they could take advantage of a botch Punt and everything just went wrong from for Indiana from almost beginning to end and Ohio State was able to take advantage winning 3815 Indiana also from this game was held to 83 net rushing yards and 68 net passing yards which is the first time this Century that an AP college football playoff top five team was held to few to to so few yards in each category in a regular season game H but yeah Ohio State one Indiana’s probably going to fall somewhat I don’t think they’re gonna fall too far uh and it’s G be interesting to see tonight how far they do fall but also a lot of the other results are going to show why they ain’t going to be falling too far probably Penn State barely survived Minnesota 2625 Army got wrecked by Notre Dame number six Notre Dame wrecking number 19 Army to end their unfe season 49 to9 number seven Bama got splattered by Oklahoma 24-3 in their biggest blowout loss to an unranked team since 1998 which that’s even before I was born that’s how crazy that stat is losing 24-3 and they just got completely B Ed around uh number nine Old Miss loses to Florida 247 number 14 BYU number 21 Arizona State 2823 with the whole controversy in its own uh clock well not so much controversy but whole thing with clock stoppage and fans on the field and taking down goalpost uh but it worked out in the end anyways for uh Arizona State uh Texas A&M loses to Auburn in four overtimes 4341 them being 15 Auburn unranked unranked Kansas Tores col number 16 Colorado 37 to 21 and not an upset but just more an interesting note Nebraska won over Wisconsin 44-25 making them both eligible for the first time since 2016 so congrats to Nebraska and going into the rankings tonight the key matchups uh for this week based on r two team two rank teams going head-to-head obviously there’s also Ohio State Michigan this weekend there’s also Ohio Alabama and a whole bunch of others but just based off two teams being ranked number 18 South Carolina visiting number 17 Clemson 12 usn and number three Texas visiting uh number 15 Texas A&M which decides who’s going to be in the SEC Championship game against Georgia 7:30 on abcn plus while we’re still waiting for this uh college basketball game to start curious to see if they have no they don’t say anything as to hold on I’m curious to see something there’s 103 left in the Bas college basketball game by the way M Memphis is up over Michigan State 6861 here go yeah so as for the ones that involve teams that are ranked Boise states in the Mountain West championship uh Army is already in a American Championship they’re taking on to Lane uh Boise State either faces Colorado State or UNLV depending on results this week Georgia is automatically in the SEC Championship game because of all the other upsets this past week they will they will face the win of Texas Texas A&M uh SMU in the ACC Championship game they’re going to face either Miami or Clemson and Oregon’s already in the Big 10 championship game facing either Indiana Ohio State or Penn State depending on results from this weekend um but yeah that’s pretty much the story with Conference Championship games going into this weekend uh in college football I MLB while we’re still waiting for this to happen so siong went to the proper pitchers the Triple Crown winners won the siong Chris sale for the NL first Brave to do so since Tom glamin in 1998 andri scoble for in the AL who’s the first tiger to do so since Justin Verlander in 2011 and then the MVPs unanimously went to judge and Otani judge being the first Yankee since himself in 22 and Otani being the first Dodger since I yeah Cody Bellinger in 2019 uh they did not screw up under ws and then there was some interesting headline moves the Angels signed us say Kikuchi to a three-year deal that kind of came out of nowhere like really odd and then Jonathan India who had been rumored for trades on and off last whole bunch of Seasons uh actually got traded along with Joey weamer who I did not know is on the Reds to the Kansas City Royals in exchange for Brady singer meaning a very good infielder and a not great out out Fielder traded to the Royals for one of their best pitchers who helped them get to the postseason last year which is just crazy and so I don’t even know how what to even really make of the trade it’s like hard to really decipher um but just crazy and I guess we’ll see how it plays out for both teams but I mean the reds are getting great pitcher and singer and Royals are getting great infield pretty good in Fielder and Jonathan Indio save NFL for after the rankings oh boy 34.4 seconds left by the way in the game each team has one timeout so either team could still stop the clock hopefully not they just play out the rest of this game 22.6 seconds left and the shot clock is gone but Memphis uses its last timeout I just forget Penny Hardway is the head coach of Memphis basketball college basketball that was pretty recent when they brought him out Memphis if you’re in here and you have any college football playoff ranking predictions uh let me know while we’re waiting for the rankings to come out cu know what any of you guys think is g to be uh rankings this week welcome sorry I’m like silent I’m just waiting for the playoff rankings to come out because I want to live R react to them shouldn’t be too much longer 14.3 seconds left 13.5 in the foul this is always like the worst part of games is like when the scores Out Of Reach and they just foul when they’re like down it’s just ridiculous it’s like boy we got things to do let’s go 7163 Memphis the Michigan State just going to dribble out the block nope they shoot a three Miss recovered but then recovered by Memphis and Memphis is gonna just dribble out the clock Memphis wins yay now I can finally switch to what um what we’re here to care about congrats Memphis you move on in the tournament here we go and now the ranking show officially begins yeah ASC is a mass at this point and it’s like Oh what now automatically conference winners are automatically in cfp no matter what pretty much e e all right so on Committee just waiting for them to start me on the top 25 and of course explaining the whole new playoff system once again like every week for e Al be interesting to see how much Army we fall all right here we go number 25 falling down nine spots from 16 is Colorado following their loss to Kansas expected fall number 24 newly ranked Kansas State good for number 23 moving up from 25 is Illinois there’s 22 22 moving up from 24 is UNLV who is 21 21 is Missouri moving up from 23 that’s 21 through 25 Number 20 is Texas ANM Who falls five spots so right now it’s number three Texas vers at number 20 Texas A&M 730 on ABC ESPN plus but that’s also assuming Texas’s ranking doesn’t change probably won’t but who knows who’s number 19 number 19 falling from 14 is BYU after their loss to Arizona State who’s 18 18 moving up from 22 is a Iowa State big jump who’s 17 17 moving up from 20 is to Lane who is 16 number 16 moving up from 21 is Arizona State after their win their upset win over BYU oh wait a minute I just realized Colorado fell out of the rankings with loss wow number 15 moving up from 18 is South Carolina because their spot original spots gone and the team wow they’re out of the rankings that is crazy that’s bold who’s 14 number 14 falling down mightily from uh nine is Old Miss after their loss to Florida who’s number 13 Colorado fall is gonna be one that everyone’s G be talking about number 13 falling all the way down from Seven is Alabama after they’re lost to Oklahoma they play an Auburn plays Auburn this weekend number four number 12 so had see how far Indiana’s fallen or Penn State imagine they can’t be staying at four after their skib not Sky skining by wi number 12 moving up from from 17 is Clemson so it’s uh 15 South Carolina against 12 Clemson 12 pm on ESPN who’s number 11 also Army fell out of the rankings after they lost so which wow I’m realizing nothing else I’ve noticed so far yikes for Army undefeated get your first loss and drop completely out of the rankings number 11 moving up from 12 is Boise state bo that running back’s been doing ridiculous for them GT good State this weekend beavers who’s number 10 number 10 moving down from five is Indiana wow what a fall they took mighy fallen and what’s crazy is they still have a shot of the Big 10 championship game depending on what happens there on this week number nine moving up from 11 from 13 is SMU who’s number eight number eight moving up from E moving up from 11 is Tennessee who’s number seven number seven moving up from 10 is Georgia probably help that are GNA be in the SEC Championship Game No Matter What moved them up beyond that not sure they still is there rivalry week game still Georgia or uh Georgia Tech yeah they’re playing Georgia Tech this week who’s number six number six moving up from eight is Miami Syracuse on Saturday Something tells me State’s going to be four still which is nuts if I’m right they should be way lower they don’t deserve to be in the top 10 even number five moving up from six is Notre Dame which tells me probably tells me Tom for Ain changing so four Penn State three Texas Ohio State 2 and Oregon one if I had a guess that’s what oh bab I could be wrong number four is still Penn State stupid I mean I get they still have a shot Big 10 championship game it’s stupid three is still Texas that makes sense but again like they just made they almost lost Minnesota Minnesota number two is still Ohio State number one is still Oregon top four doesn’t change what’s New Penn State still being in the incorrect spot so how does the bracket turn out the two teams that are out would be number 12 Clemson and number 13 Alabama so one through 11 and 16 are teams that would be in Poss in uh due to conference leaders or Dre springings number one would be Oregon number two would be Texas number three would be Miami number four would be Boise State and number 12 would be Arizona State the top four would get first round buys Georgia would be eight Ohio state would be five taking on Arizona State they the winner plays at Boise State number six would be Penn State number seven would be Notre Dame and Georgia would face Tennessee Winer plays Oregon Penn State faces Indiana wter would play Miami and Notre name would play SMU winter would take on Texas and as the college football playoff rankings still being messed up because they still don’t know what they’re doing with Penn State the Lord oh Lord um you know what give me a moment I’ll be right back back e hello yep still back all right sorry about that let’s dive in NFL uh we’re gonna talk I’m gonna briefly mention the Browns game then I have rant about something outside of the game uh Browns if you didn’t catch it I did an immediate reaction the day after the Browns game uh go check it out on YouTube shorts or on Tik Tok it’s on both platforms same video same short just on different platforms Browns won 249 James Winston is the first Browns QB to beat Steelers and the Ravens and second overall in the same season in Browns history since Baker Mayfield in 2019 which yes is the first Odell year not the year they made the playoffs for the first time since 2002 also Cleveland’s the first team in NFL history to commit three plus turn three turnovers have eight plus penalties convert no more than one third down which I don’t even think they converted a third down all game maybe one have under 25 minutes of time of possession and blow 12 plus Point fourth quarter lead and still win this game and I’m still circling my head around how they they won this game uh which someone did point out a missed penalty on the last play which I was like looking back and I was like h i kind of see it I’m still not 100% sure that that would be flagged or not but like I kind of see what he’s talking about as there was a pi a bit on the Pickins on the last play but that’s not my rant uh my rant is about something completely different and I’m not gonna play this a because there’s cursing in it and I do not uh play audio cursing and B I don’t want to try to run into copyright issues and them claim copyright claiming me uh but the podcast is still here it’s a Steelers podcast associated with far stol Sports and uh one of the guys is Jerry and they were talking about miles gar and all his like rough uh all his press conference things before and after the game towards uh TJ wat which okay I’ll admit yeah from a Steelers fan it can it was definitely a little bit pushed and maybe overboard but this dude went too far way too far I get wanting to say oh I get like being frustrated how a player like trash talk talks to to your own like favorite teams player or something like that that’s fine but he went out and said on his own podcast and again associated with barcol sports saying I hope miles G to ter his ACL I’m sorry what now I will kind of give him credit he did go on and apologize seconds later but that is too far that is way too far that is crossing 500 yards beyond the line Dave porno if you’re somehow listening to this fire him that is ridiculous you want to wish injury upon someone that’s a bit problematic like okay but ACL that is way too far that is not acceptable and that should not be someone involved with barol sports I’m sorry that is ridiculous and what’s funny is people been out telling me you should go work for B now I don’t know if I should after hearing that and to be honest I don’t and if you’re wondering no I don’t really in wish injury upon anyone that’s just ridiculous that is inexcusable I I I just like pissed off it it just frustrates me that someone would go to that extent whether you’re asking me from Browns fan perspective or neutral fan perspective like just way too far I put the link to the episode in the description if you want to check it out but heads up there cursing in there but I basically give the just of it it’s like 19 minutes in a little bit over 19 minutes in when he says this it’s just ridiculous like some of the other comments they say like okay yeah fair but that one is just like no absolutely not he should be fire apology or not he went too far and I even was sharing it with other friends Browns fans and not Browns fans they were all like yeah he went too far I bet if I showed it to Steelers fans they’d be like yeah he got he went too far I bet if I showed it to Ravens fans they would be like yeah he went too far I don’t know just ridiculous like there’s a point of like okay to call out a player about something but that’s just way overboard like 500 yards overboard like I’m sorry that’s wrong ridiculous anyways going back to the rest of the week recap uh besides the Browns game Vikings beat the Bears 30 27 overtime though in this game in the loss Caleb Williams now has the most passing yards for rookie QB in Bears history passing Mitchell tris’s 2,193 and trusville 1,870 uh his total through week 12 I didn’t write down his total stupidly oh interesting college game is actually going to Texas A&M this week not even Ohio State Michigan I don’t know if I agree with that choice but I mean then again Michigan’s not a great team this year I guess like kind of can be excusable Caleb Williams has 200 ,5 356 uh through 12 games this season but he passed both of those so congrats to him Lions hammered the CTS 24 to6 the Lions have won 10 plus games in consecutive seasons for the first time ever in their franchise history also jir Gibbs is the third Lions player in history with 1,000 plus scrimmage yards and 1,000 plus touchdowns in each of the first two seasons of his career joining Billy Sims and Barry Sanders Chiefs beat the Panthers 30 to 27 which really the Panthers should have won that game Travis gy now has 11854 care career receiving yards and Counting which passes Antonio gain for third most by a tight end NFL history behind Tony Gonzalez 15,120 and Jason WIS 13,46 Tex Titans beat the Texans 3227 tyy Fair Baron though in this game has now made 12 field goals of 50 plus yards this season which is an NFL record and the SE Eagles beat the Rams 37 to 20 saquon Barkley is the first Nal player 500 plus G yards over two game span since Walter pay on November of 1977 and a note about NFC North specifically this is they’re the second Vision since 1970 when the NFL and AFL merged to have at least three teams with eight plus wins through first through 11 games of the Season joining 1997 NFC Central North they were known as Central back then where it had the eight and three where through 11 games and three Vikings and three Packers and three bucketeers five and six lines and one and 10 bears and as notes for this week’s episode I did pretty good predictions this week I went 10 and three overall I’m 115 and 64 standings update in the AFC North AFC East the bills in first place 92 follow by the five and six Dolphins followed by the three and eight Jets Follow by 3 and9 Patriots in the AFC North the Steelers in first place eight and three followed by eight and four Ravens followed by four and seven Bengals Follow by three and eight Browns in the AFC South with Texans in first place seven and five Follow by five and seven qus followed by the three and eight ttans followed by 29 Jaguars and the AFC West the Chiefs in first place at 10- one followed by the 7even and4 charers followed by the 7even and5 Broncos followed by the 29 Raiders in the NFC East the Eagles in first place at 92 followed by the 75 commanders followed by the 4 and7 Giants or non Giants cowys followed by the 29 Giants in the NFC North the lines in first place at 101 followed by the 92 Vikings followed by and3 bears followed by the Four B three Packers not Bears F by the four and seven pack Bears I mixed up teams there whoops anyways um in the NFC South the Falcons in first place six and five followed by the five- six Buccaneers follow by the four and 17 Follow by 3 and eight eight Panthers and in the NFC West the Seahawks and Cardinals are tied for first place six and five followed by the ti for third place between the Rams and the four IR at five and six that’s it for the standings update for week 13 predictions we have Thanksgiving games this week three of them Bears Lions 12:30 pm on CVS I have the Lions Giants at Cowboys 4:30 on Fox I have the Cowboys pack Dolphins at Packers E20 on NBC Peacock I have the
