think for this one we we do care about kenpom because this feels like a matchup between two top 25 teams yeah 100% And also shout out to our good friend Terence Oglesby he tries to sing the good word and praise of what is Little John Coliseum uh it is a really good home field a really good homecourt advantage and that plays good rocking and look my eyes have told me that Clemson is maybe not a top 25 team to be honest and I might be wrong on that like I think they’re a good basketball team I don’t think they’re a Top 25 basketball team my eyes have told me that Kentucky is like one of the best teams in the country um so I don’t I don’t really know how to square that away what about Clemson tells you they’re not a top 25 team I mean they got blown out by Boise State that’s in my mind also hand up here I watched two cleansing games this year the Penn State one was actually a really good win it was on a neutral I thought Penn State should have won that basketball game they didn’t you can equate that whichever way you want the other game I saw was against Boise State and they looked pretty outmatched in that basketball game and I don’t think Boise State’s necessarily that great um okay I I like boy for what it’s worth now they have a couple weird losses they lost to San Francisco and they just lost a coin fli game to Boston College that isn’t bad but I think Boise he’s like a good team I respect what Leon rice does like I I can shrug off a true Road loss to Boise State um I think who Clemson is like at their core to me is who they were against Penn State which I actually really like this Penn State team I like what they’ve done this season and Clemson was great in that Game Hunter and sheflin both had 17 17 18 um Victor loan I think kind of needs to be better and more consistent I like this team a lot more when Victor Lockton locken is good Vlad golden and not bad Vlad golden and he kind of alternates games on that right now um but man this this Clemson team like you you remember some of the big faces from the tournament run they made last year like I I just believe in Hunter and sheflin a lot as dudes they’re really old I believe in their games shein’s been awesome shefin almost had a triple double the other day he had 18 points 13 rebounds eight assists so like I don’t know I’m not underestimating this Clemson team at all one thing I am watching with shefflin uh 22% from three this season he’s asked to do a lot more than he was last year and he’s down from 47% from three to 22% from three so if he can’t shoot it does sort of change the way I view this team a little bit but all in all at home true resume opportunity for Clemson and like you get a win against Kentucky it’s going to hold up well over the course of the Season as the metrics catch up to how good this this Kentucky team is speaking of the metrics uh Bart tvic you can filter out the preseason stuff and just look at what teams have done this season only if you do that Kentucky is fifth in the country for bar torvi I think that’s a lot closer to what we’ve actually seen than any Pole or any other metric will tell you they are if you do that for Clemson they’re 36th so if you buy that these teams are going to show up as the teams they’ve been this year Kentucky is undervalued coming in Clemson is a little overvalued is that about what your your gut says from what you’ve seen with both teams yeah that is what my very large gut says um also can I play a game of uh can you repeat to me again the two best guys from Clemson uh that would be Chase Hunter and Ian sheflin okay so Chase Hunter is the first one right correct yeah got something for that oo away uh who’s the next one Ian sheflin yeah I got something for that Amar Williams that’s cute here’s the one thing I’d push back on are we sure the two guys you mentioned are getting either of those matchups no but if I’m Mark Pope they are isn’t Amari Williams on lockin I rather not I would put Carr on him and isn’t OA on like one of the Wings and you well Lamont Butler on Chase Hunter you feel okay about that yeah either or yeah okay I’m more worried about the shefflin matchup than I am the the guard spot because Clemson does go super big like that’s just what they do they start 610 611 68 shefflin is the 68 guy playing the three so you think about KY starting lineup say they put Williams on lockin say they put Andrew Carr on Wiggins are you left with like can you put o on shefflin are you left with Jackson Robinson on sheflin I mean you could o on sheflin would be interesting o on sheflin would yeah I think he might be able to handle that I think he would I think he’s got the strength to do it and like anything that shefflin does if if he puts the ball on the floor he’s getting taken from him shefflin also could just post him up though do you yeah I mean the thing is though there’s different options and versatility you can use in this spot I think yeah that’s true that’s very true um let me ask you a broad General Kentucky question is there going to be a Crashing Down to Earth moment B Kentucky things have gone so well for them since the poire at every turn I mean it’s it’s like blowout blowout blowout we beat Duke blowout blowout blowout Kobe Bray is shooting 80% from three nobody can miss gratitude gratitude gratitude we got all our recruits John calip Perry’s team stinks like every single thing is Kentucky Kentucky Kentucky good they’re not going undefeated this year I’ll just call it what it is this team’s not going undefeated this year they might be the number one overall seed come tournament time they’re not going undefeated this year when it does go wrong do you think it’s gonna be like crash down wrong for one game and could that be I think if it go if it goes wrong for them I think they still win this basketball game I think they’re that much better of a basketball team so it could happen at some point but it won’t be this game because of who Clemson is no uh now there is a little bit of a look ahead factor to this game as well they have Gonzaga I know which might be a factor but their first loss is Gonna Come to Louisville on the 14th oh chill I hate that now that that is crashing down that is we come to that game undefeated we’re feeling great and we let Pat Kelce get us on the first turn without K prior I don’t think they’re losing he see it rup not going to happen that that that would that not become crashing down yeah but I don’t I guess my answer is I don’t expect a crash down the the vision I’m talking when I say crash down I’m talking like could they let just a normal loss snowball a little bit with a game they just no show and could that happen in against Clemson because they’re in a true Road environment for the first time could it happen against Gonzaga because gonzaga’s really special it’s not going to happen at rup against pacel I just think that’s crazy but like I don’t know I guess to me the one thing that makes me feel like it won’t happen against Clemson is they’re old like I don’t think any of kuy’s players are like spooked by being on the road I think that’s I’m leaning on that too like it this is like all these guys 40th true Road game like or or first true Road game like they they they’ve already had that factor yeah okay uh if Chase Hunter and Ian cheffin were given the opportunity to at the end of this game take off their Clemson jerseys and put on Kentucky jerseys are they taking those no they’re not no they’re not why Tigers what they’re Tigers through and through they’re tigers tigers I think they would immediately turn in their orange for their blue immediately how dare you I’m just saying you don’t you saying turning in Orange is a is against your your beliefs paint this thing hit on a big part for me I think um I think there’s not going to be a lot at the rim for Clemson this game Clemson’s not great at scoring at The Rim as is they rely on three-point shooting I don’t think you win game by three-point shooting out Kentucky ky’s three-point defense has been awesome Kentucky makes a bunch of Threes themselves Clemson has to get going at The Rim they’re not going to be able to Amari Williams is too good down there um to me if they try to play through sheflin I will say I bet you OA o draws that assignment and I bet you OTA o does what he did to Cooper flag in crunch time to sheflin and just really frustrates the hell out of him so I do think there will be a moment this Kentucky season has a hiccup I don’t think it’s coming in this game might come in the next game don’t think on the road at Clemson is the first time they get bit I’ll take Kentucky by double digits in a another oh my God Mark Pope performance and the world finally ranks this team top
