I mentioned the Lions earlier and I wasn’t aware that you know during this Resurgence by Detroit they still haven’t won on Thanksgiving they haven’t won on Thanksgiving since they beat the Vikings in 2016 seven straight Thanksgiving losses three of them in that same period of time to the Bears they’re 8- 11 against the Bears on Thanksgiving that makes that that opening game a lot more interesting and also the Bears have lost five in a row and they if feels like they’re they’re you know they’re getting better they they they lost three of those five on the last play of the game the Bears may have a little something for them tomorrow oh Mike I I think the streak ends I think the streak ends I I don’t I don’t see it I don’t see the Bears having something for him I think this is I think this is one of those easy moments where a 10in one team team needs some motivation and the coaching staff says well look at this here it is we’ve got a we’ve got a losing streak on Thanksgiving and everybody thinks lions and Thanksgiving and maybe the rest of the country is used to the Lions losing on Thanksgiving but this is a new day I can Dan Campbell’s got this he’s got I the the pregame speech I’m sure it’s all ready he’s got it all scripted ready to go cuz it’s one thing that that they have to they don’t have to prove much to the rest of the NFL I mean everybody’s on the Lion’s train we know how explosive they are on offense but he’s got that one thing hanging over him that carrot to put in front of him hey we got to show out on Thanksgiving that’s that we’re known for that it’s the first game of the day we’re one of the best teams in football let’s show them what we’re about I think this could be a lopsided game here’s what Campbell had to say earlier this week about snapping that seven game Thanksgiving home losing streak it’d be nice to you know uh to feel good about it when you when you’re with everybody um because it’s just not real fun it’s not real fun to be around uh you know that’s my wife she’ll tell you like that’s what she’s praying for a win I mean big time because she knows that you know I’m a bear when we don’t win so we all want it um you know and it is long overdue but but you know we got to win to win hey and the easy argument to the players is you guys think you’re going to go to the Super Bowl and win it if you can’t win the one game that the Detroit Lions should win every year you got no business thinking about the super B you got to check this box before you have any chance to check the box we’re trying to pursue and it really was surprising to me that that it’s lasted this long yeah for part of it it doesn’t surprise me because they weren’t good the last three years they’ve been really good but they still haven’t managed to pull it off yeah it’s really it really comes down to more like 20 like last year I guess is the biggest surprise because if you go back you know Campbell’s first year and they had that long streak I think they were they start 010 and one it was something it was it it was not a great start then the next year they also didn’t get off to a great start so I think you know 22 when they lost to Buffalo I remember that game that was a great game that was more of a oh look what Detroit is doing Detroit is hanging around Buffalo so that they weren’t expected to win at that point it was almost like oh they’re in the game last year expected to win and they lose this year expected to win and I think they I think they will yeah I I don’t disagree with you we’re doing the picks later and I may I may decide when it’s time to make the pick that I am going to go with the bears but I’m leaning heavily toward the Lions and we’ll see if they can get it done hi it’s Mike Florio thanks for watching PFT on YouTube hit subscribe for the latest news and Analysis from pro football talk
