Connie fidence would be comfortable Right But Connie probably needs to get things green lit from the boss why would the boss be mad at him I think the boss had a contract in front of him and and the old GM said no thanks and that would probably led to some hard feelings what I um maybe you have some Intel there oh absolutely that’s the case I’ve been told yeah that there’s if if there’s a deal to be done with Toronto there’s an Oilers tax and there’s a TR living tax the owner said here’s your deal I don’t here’s Daryl’s deal Daryl signed his tring said if he’s here I’m not and the owner just the deal does make sense for the Flames I think it can make a lot of sense then I would think you have some aginas and Conroy that could sit down with ownership say I understand but especially this is an opportunity for us to take a big step forward here yes depending on what the deal is if you can move Cadre oh God yeah and look he’s not he’s not having a great year but he’s a guy that you brought in to win and playing a contending team I think he could look good you slot him as a second line Center Toronto and give him like a Marner and neander I he’s gonna look good I really do I mean yeah two so it’s just a complex deal so what is the sorry how many years after this year four this is your three of a seven-year deal he’s 34 fellas this is Holy this is your get your living when he sign them oh we’re we slotting and we’re depth down to man we’re good it was a move that only made sense if you were going to compete short term pipe dream we having a pipe dream he belongs on a contender and a defenseman he needs Cadre their goalie has been good their defense has been really nice tanov has been Sensational Jake McCabe’s played really well um it’s they they’ve patched that those two areas up really nicely stellars and wall has been forward because they don’t have like T you want t on your third line Center then you’re real deep then you look like a team that’s tough to be in the playoffs Jack why don’t we have the Toronto lineup up get the Toronto L Jack oh you got Austin Matthews gonna be your Top Line Center and Tas is a three it looks really good as a two you’re like Florida’s gonna line up S Bennett against him or the third line okay I like that more just like Michael baton you love him as a three as a second does say they can’t improve on the I think you’re idiot and I think that probably goal tending and defense is I’ve known You’ thought I’m an idiot for over a decade since we first met um but they’ve been getting top five in the League goal tending codre would be a good fit for them but add everything it’s my point if you’re TR living and Don and Shanahan you’re going to have to evaluate what’s our most pressing need I agree and I think this is why this is a complicated deal because you’re probably gonna ask Calgary to retain some money oh boy I don’t know I don’t know but if let’s sayat two million a year for the next five years now I’m bring price comes up now I’m bringing the owner back into it I’m not sure the owner’s not going to like it but if he’s a $5 million centerman then they can start talking about what R’s talking about which is is tweaking some other things on the back end or maybe upgrading go to oo we’re bringing the Leafs a cup I mean we always joke about it there’s it’s a talented team they’ve done bleep all but think longterm he’s going to be helpful for your organization on take I would get rid of him for basically nothing in cap space and TR living is gonna know that yep and that’s why I think almost retention might help you because you might actually get an asset back will he two million for five years give us a first or give us a second and a player or give us a young centerman because they need centers here still yeah we have a deal no matter what it’s whether or not we’ll eat we’ll retain salary and you’ll give us something for that that’s the and that’s where the markom deal fell apart last year to be fair the first one they like to chew on money here e well but there but honestly you’re sitting on 20 million in c space you’re not using it at least when you’re eating some salary you’re using that to get an asset right I’m not suggesting they’re GNA have 20 million a cap space for the next five years but for the next three it’s going to be really hard just to St at the floor the way the caps Rising here I’ll need your math yeah so you could eat two million a year for the next four which is the next four thank you yeah yeah so the next four two million each that’s $8 million that’s correct or you could pay Cadre full Freight for the next four years with that wonky back of his too right so what do you want do you want to pay full Freight for four years you want to pay two for four years 28 million the next four years or you could spend eight to just open up that room you you need a young Center you need a young Center you need a young Center but chess not Checkers yeah and I and I don’t think like I I think we’re gonna have this conversation for three months I really do good good not not because we need to repeat it and it’s fun but because I think Craig Conroy is in no rush to have anything that looked like last year going on which is talk about trades gossip about who wants to stay who wants to go and to be fair the closer you get to the deadline the more manageable everything is Cap wise for the contending team that you’re theoretically talking with plus the Leafs are going to have a better idea of what they are what their needs are how healthy they are on the back end will be a thing for sure so you want laar codrey and Anderson give us a thousand first the only problem is TR living is going to know exactly what the reaction is going to be from ownership when deals are taken upstairs well TR living should just that’s why he’s going to have to pay the freight you want conre it’s going to cost tax well and there’s a there’s a prick tax to it you were a prick when you left so you have to pay a little that would probably be the owner’s position can you I think yeah there’d be many people in Brad’s camp but the owner’s position would be that yeah yeah you’ve been a prick to me so you didn’t take my money I had gave you your first job in the NHL as a GM blah blah blah blah blah yeah and you saddled my organization that you’re trying to get on the cheap now the flip side is if if if the owner just like if we could put this thing that he signed right back onto his cap and you like this here you go big fella that’s what I’d be saying I understand we want to implement some sort of prick tax but if we want to do well for this team yeah maybe let’s not worry about a prick tax and let’s try and find a deal that makes sense that gets us the assets that we still need it’s not like we’re overflowing with prime prospects here and I don’t think you get one in that deal a kodri would love to play he would love to go back there good he’d be hey tree think how good he would be there text him you got his name remember he scored in the overtime there with the Avalanche there he had what a broken something
