SEC ACC challenge going on as well as some other interesting matchups but we will begin with lyola Chicago and Eastern Michigan Loyola Chicago laying 18 and a half points uh here in this uh matchup with a total of 141 and a half I am curious as to why out of all of the games this one leads yeah the show here Matt Cox you’re up first first pick of the week you’re the guy behind this what are we up to here yeah sorry I didn’t mean to go down into a deep dark Rabbit Hole to start us off but uh just a real quick handicap for me we can talk about games people actually care about I I’ve been targeting if you’ve noticed the theme of some of my picks these bigger dogs uh in the first half and it’s been kind of a consistent theme all November and I don’t know if it’ll continue into December maybe the market corrects maybe we start to see uh you know some equilibrium reach but generally the these larger favorites who are in not you know sleepy spots either off of Big Win off a big performance maybe you know the rest could be too too little or in some cases the too big we’ve seen the roster really play a factor teams coming out of the Thanksgiving feast week lull you know a little bit too much turkey and stuffing hangover there U similar spot here for Lola right so they they are undefeated um they’ve taken care of business against good teams but I think this is sort of a dead spot spot against a team in Eastern Michigan that has a couple of guys from Chicago a couple of depal transfers I think this game will mean more to them they’re also coming off a really tough overtime loss to Detroit Mercy a quasi Motor City rival there so it does set up for a little bit of a bounceback from emu who is a team that’s not that great I’m not going to B here for emu being a Mac World beater but I think it’s a really good spot against atima Lola who again feels like they’ll be a little bit sleepy the way they’re constructed they’re not a great favorite they’re a team that I think really hangs its head on the defensive end uh when you lay points with them just it always feels like you’re climbing and clawing to get over that margin I think that plays well for emu again especially in the first half that’s my key angle I think you get a good first half performance from emu they come out making some shots while iola’s offense struggles to get going again this should be a low-scoring game too I kind of lean under here with how good lol’s Rim defense is miles one of the best Rim protectors in all of the land U kind of a star in the A10 that’s on the up but I think emu keeps it close to the first 20 minutes here TJ uh D Watson was a big score the last couple of games for the Ramblers Jeff Nao including 19 in their blowout win they destroyed Tulsa by 36 points back on Saturday night all right now they’re back at home heavy favorite here any thought on Loyola Chicago at home tonight I I can see why you’d want to back this spot it is again very hard to just keep playing bad teams beating them I think eventually as as a competitor you want to challenge it it seems like Lola is kind of mired in that they have not played a top 100 team so far this season and this isn’t going to be one either um throw in the Easter Michigan’s roster they actually have some decent players I mean kids that played at at at Big East schools like depal now again depal is not a great school but they have kids that can ball they’re not a completely uh complete roster devoid of any talent and we’ve seen Eastern Michigan get kids like this Monty Bates they had for a while um and Lola has just kind of been skirting by uh teams they probably should beat by more you know Southern Utah um you know Chicago State so I could see the reason here a sleepy spot you maybe get up for it in the first 20 and then lyola kind of figures it out wins by you know 15 or 20 in the second half again I think Matt’s had a good read on these things he should just keep doing what he’s doing and to that point I’m ready to prop up Matt Cox’s plays shall we go back to two weeks ago today because I just went back and looked two weeks ago today Matt Matt Cox said North Dakota State first half give me double figures cover the next day 13 days ago he said give me San Jose State at USC first half double figures cover another uh pay pay attention to the theme Here Matt Cox came back on the Thursday show of that week and said Drake just as an underdog full game cover uh let me progress all right so you missed with Sam for laying points what’s wrong with you you laid points in that game Matt Cox I know I’ve always had a better reach for I’ve always had a better for pups I know I know you came back around to Davidson they did not cover in the game with uh with Arizona in the Bahamas oh then matx goes back to Santa Clara as a dog cover so now I’ve got you at 4- two with the doggies and here you are coming back to an underdog as we lock him in in the first half team total Plus 11 I like the I like the go back what D do said go back to what’s been working here in the handicap philosophically and you’re going first half cover with Eastern Michigan for them to keep it close on that matchup tonight again that one at 8:30 Eastern 7:30 local time interesting Loyola Chicago Jeff and Madden for the audience will come here to Tampa and play South Florida on the weekend right now with the way that they’re rolling they’ve got a chance to be seven and0 tonight one other interesting point that Matt didn’t cover that I’ll just throw in Lola has not played for 10 days in the last game yeah huge playover yes in the last game they played remember not one starter played over 29 minutes that was a blowout 8953 against tlsa this group as a starting five has not played in a long time I mean you know who else was off 10 days was Nevada last night so yeah I think just to you know recent one one example one anecdote is not always going to be the ution but I think there’s at least you know you also saw Colorado off the Maui hangover so yeah there is some weird sort of sleepy trans zombie spots I call them for these teams coming out of feast week tonight you have one too with like off the Maui spot Dayton Dayton’s my big favorite tonight off Maui you know so you got to look for them little things and I wish I like Western more but yeah I looked at that too Jeff that’s that was
