of what the team was able to do here tonight I think just to put ourselves um you know with the lead in the first place um you know I thought we did a lot of good things and yeah I think the third we want to be better I think we don’t want to sit back as much um you know they got one and then um you know I thought we just weren’t as aggressive as we we should have been and um obviously they get one on the power play there with six guys um but you know I thought we battled hard Waller was great for us tonight made some really big saves and key moments um and got the two points so that’s all that matters clean up some stuff and just continue to move forward how did you feel personally uh I felt fine I mean I think as the game went on felt a little bit better um you know still felt uh a little bit Rusty but I thought uh you know our line um you know played uh pretty solid all around and simple for the most part and obviously it uh you know feels good to chip in with some uh some goals there and especially early on so um I just want to continue to build forward and and get better at each game what do you think it means to Nick Robertson to score his first goal in month yeah I mean it’s huge I mean it’s it’s tough um you know that stuff can weigh on you sometimes and um you know he’s a great player he has a great shot and I think um you know it’s not easy when you you’re snake bid and you getting opportunities and the puck just doesn’t seem to to fall but uh I know that one felt really good for him and all the boys are extremely uh you know pumped for him on that so I think it’s uh there’s more to come for him absolutely what do you appreciate about how n is kind of emerging as that net front kind of force I mean he’s he’s so big and strong and I think he’s just uh you know very agile at the same time and um you know he works on that stuff he works on those tips he works on plays in and around the the net um so he just continues to grow and continues to get better and uh I thought he was really good for us tonight even though you guys kind of sagged in the third period there late as they pressed you’re 12-0 if you have a lead going into the third period now uh what’ that say about the team I think that’s great concerning and when Jake leaves the way he does he’s been such kind of a warrior for you these this season yeah I mean he’s a hard and soul guy on our team and um you know fortunately we saw him in the locker room and he’s he’s doing all right so uh I think good news uh you know coming out um from that aspect but you know he’s a guy that puts it all online each each and every night and um you know a guy you’d love to have on your team so uh it’s never fun seeing um you know Puck go up high like that and you know not really sure where it hit you or um or what the severity of you know what happen is but um everything seems to be uh okay and um that’s a good part like that one was It was obviously relief I mean obviously it’s been a while so I’m happy to get out get on the board there and and uh felt pretty good yeah uh what to see it didn’t look like there was much there yeah I just you know I know he’s um you know I just saw a little opening up his shoulder I mean I he sealed pretty good and I just took my shot and luckily went in what’s been going through your mind this last orode uh just I think being positive I think being patient um you know trying to stay confident when things aren’t going your way obviously productive wise but uh I’m enjoying it I’m still obviously enjoying playing NHL enjoying being around the guys and that helps being around a group of guys that gets you not thinking too much about that stuff and you know fortunately went in hopefully I can build on it how much of a jolt did the team have with Austin and Matthew say that one more time how much of a jolt did you guys feel with Austin and matth KN yeah it was great I mean they’re key players obviously um you know they play great tonight they obviously give us um even more confidence on the ice and we had a great game you didn’t take the morning skate today you usually do is that and was that an effort to kind of switch your luck up maybe switch it up a little bit I I mean I was open to any changing anything um just I thought it was necessary given my legs weren’t and for some reason the greatest took it off and and we’ll see how the next one goes with it yes sir uh well I I think the next one there is a morning skate so we’ll see how that game goes but uh we’ll see how after that have you ever gone through something like what you went just went through with the puck not going in you’re such an offensive player I mean yeah when I was like 16 and Junior there but you know couple assists here there keep you kind of sane but uh no this is something I haven’t dealt with before but it’s good to know that uh I have this in kind of my back pocket and know how to respond to it and uh you know just kind of build confidence in little areas to you know when the pucks not going your net you know find ways to get gain confidence find ways to you know be efficient and I think um I did in this process of finding ways to be effective and and create chances when things are going your way you were getting looks were you just kind of focusing on the positive like the chances for versus against in your game fall yeah I think I’ve created some offense obviously I think um you know again youah had a couple there you know I’m creating offense doing the best I can I think uh I just kind of look at my game and seeing what I can do to you know best be effective on the ace and um you know I was happy with the game I’m working hard obviously now with one going in I mean who knows I’m kind of stick with the same process and hopefully more going what do you appreciate about Joseph Wall’s game tonight I mean he’s obviously very great golender he’s very patient very pois definitely gets us out of some tough situations when we screw up so he’s a great golender and what have you seen from n in front of the net this season and how he’s been able to kind of emerge as a force that lots of goals I mean he’s he’s really good Around the Net he’s finding his you know what works for him he’s having a great um great start to the season and he’s again he’s a key player we’re happy to get him back in the lineup what’s going through your mind when that third one goes in L this game uh stop the next one um yeah I mean they they had a good push at the end and um they’re a good offensive team so it wasn’t uh you know crazy surprising to to see him come out hard and um just good by us was great great job by Will to get that that EMP to to seal it in a way um but good good by us fighting till the end you know sometimes doesn’t go story book ending in the third and um it just I thought it was a good job you know as a team getting it done like to see Austin back out there yeah yeah I was just thinking about that like NY and tone having having them back is is huge and um you can see you know our our production was was great tonight we scored scored a few goals to get us ahead and and take control of the game so was great you can make a case that these last few games have been your best games as the league ever what’s been kind of going through your mind these last few games oh it’s a big case um not uh not too much out of the ordinary um just just playing hockey and and trying to enjoy you know each game that I I get put in and trying to do my best uh to help this team win and um I would uh add on to that I think you know it’s been some of the best defensive games I’ve I’ve been behind in terms of blocks and um you know we have we have such a great decor and um our forwards do a great job blocking shots and Stevie lorence again today with a low kick save like his his poor feet but you know as a team I think we’d be doing a great job to that point what goes through your mind when you see Jake mccab leave the game just how valuable he’s yeah honestly a little stick to my stomach just he’s like I was just saying he’s such a valuable player to us and um anytime you see when one of your teammates go down like that it’s a mix of emotions so I was you know happy to see him up and moving what seen from Nick Robertson over this last month and as he’s been snake bitten and then gets the monkey off his back tonight yeah well I mean I think he’s said chances and um sometime the puck doesn’t go in and you know tonight he had a a great shot uh I see him every day in practice so I I know that that shot and he’s one of the best Shooters I’ve ever seen so pretty great you had a lot of saves in that but what’s going through your mind in that first period when E’s coming and on the breakway like how are you reading that situation uh honestly there’s not much going on in my head it’s just get out and make the save um yeah I uh I think when when you’re playing your best you’re not really thanking so um yeah my answer is is probably not not a whole lot and I think that’s a good thing you have to deal with him in practice not in a game but nice in front of the net what’s standing out about how he’s operating in that area this season yeah he’s uh’s decent sized guy so he does a good job in front he’s he’s tough to move and um you know obviously he’s got a good sticker around there so it’s good to see him get rewarded when you have a five game winning streak like you do do you feel like you have momentum behind your game like how do you how does it feel when you string offs and run wins together like this as a goalie guy um yeah I mean I I think just getting back playing has been nice um obviously you missed the first few games of the season so it’s it’s been good get back into Rhythm and um just playing hockey again so I think you know trying to take it one game at a time and um not put uh an over over focus on winning and losing but you know try to take out the process and and build on each game and and learn from each game Matthew haded a feel to get back in there and get in in a win here tonight yeah it was good exciting um I was happy to be back with the fellas um yeah I enjoyed playing so it’s aesome to be back in the lineup what do you see on the goal yeah um I thought we got you know a little bit of oone pressure there and um you know I kind of was left alone out front and tny uh you know made a nice shot that you know was it was easy for me to tip and you know unfortunat or sorry fortunately went through his legs there Craig was saying that that you’ve taken a look at some himman kind of stuff in and around the net what have you learned from from watching him yeah I mean he he can score goals around the net um you know I think kind of just like his footwork and uh his stick place bement um just little things like that you know um could help my game and you obviously I play Neon on the power play and then you know they most of the game so um you know just trying to make myself available and and get my stick uh stick open to to kind of tap those in it’s it’s uh you know something I I kind of need to you know get a better grip on what do you think it meant to Nick Robertson to get the monkey off his back good you know you could see it in his uh his reaction after the goal but you know that was a hell of a snipe and um yeah I’m happy to see that the they go for him took a while for Joseph F to get rolling this season but now he’s in a Groove what if you sort of sense from him and how he battled the adversity at the start of the year and how he’s turn it around yeah I mean um I I mean I keep saying it but I’m it’s no shock to me that he kind of comes back you know he takes care of himself um he’s a true professional when it comes to off the ice uh you know habits and stuff like that so um yeah I’m happy he got this win and you know he’s been rolling for us so far so um yeah I’d like to see it keep going how did Austin to you in his first game in a while he’s good you know he’s he’s really good um you know we’re looking to for him to create momentum for us and and and be the leader and um you know kind of drive the bus so uh you know he did that tonight and you know it’s going to it’s going to keep coming from him so it feels like you have a personal vietta against this building when you come back you always seem to score here does it feel any better or you still have that sour taste yeah I mean it’s still better sweet you know I still have those memories haunting me in the back of my head but you know I made some good ones here too so I got to kind of hide those those in the back and um yeah you know I it’s definitely getting better it’s tring upwards so stood out about how your team was able to build the lead here tonight yeah I thought that early on in the game we were just a little bit off you know but we got going I thought later on in the first and the second period and then you know the third got hairy uh to say the least with um what went on but we pulled it out how’s Jake MCC he’ll be fine yeah like you don’t expect to miss it G or anything um yeah I don’t I don’t I mean I guess I could be wrong but I don’t what what do you think of Austin tonight well they were fine I thought they had pretty solid game to be honest with you been out a while but um did some good things I thought he was strong on pucks and uh thought he moved well out there and um you know he did a lot of good things uh same as niiv what do you think can do for him moving forward what’s that Nick Robertson what do you think his goal can do for well hopefully give him confidence we talked to him today about that you know and um just build off it and I thought Nick had a good game you know I thought he was working hard and he had some you know chances tonight and he in one went in for him which was great um you know he’s just got to keep keep at it that’s all like I mean I like he he’s working hard I no problem with the work ethic but um you know talked to him today about uh getting on the inside more and getting around the net and scoring some greasy goals but it was great to see him get one for sure you probably didn’t love uh that they got three goals so late but at the same time this team is pretty good at holding down leads you’re perfect no we are um you know I think I thought in you know with goalie out we were a little bit tentative and didn’t win enough battles and things like that uh I thought that we can do a better job we let him move it around too easily in my opinion but um you know it’s something we’ll look at and and get better at what stood up to you about wols night he was solid all game had to make some real good saves you know especially in the third I thought he made some great saves and uh their uh Power Play was that in the second period I thought yeah he made some good saves there too so you know he was solid very good yeah some Friendly Fire coming at the bench in this game to I almost got hit twice I got to talk to Mitch I think he’s uh I don’t know if he’s pissed off of me or what I guess he needs more ice time
