hello everybody I’m Bill reinitz along with Joey Kaufman here at higho Stadium where I don’t think either one of us saw this one coming Joey Michigan extends its winning streak over Ohio State to four games 1310 win here at the Horseshoe um you know the previous three games Michigan had an elite te wasn’t a huge surprise they come come in here six and five and beat Ohio state 13-10 will Howard throws two interceptions Jaden Fielding misses two field goals Ohio State’s defense played well all game until the last drive and another loss and this one of all the recent losses to Michigan is the most inexplicable because those three previous Michigan teams were Bound for the college football playoff they won the Big 10 last year Michigan won the National Championship they won 15-0 this was a six and five team that was clearly rebuilding in year one under shiron Moore and just was not at all supposed to be in Ohio State’s weight class so I think that has got to be the most agonizing part for Bucky fans it’s the first time since 1993 that they lost to an unranked Michigan team it’s the first four game losing streak since the early 90s I think just the fact that Michigan was not a team that was built to contend for a national championship is just the brutal reality for Ohio State and then on top of that was just an ugly scene after the game where Ohio State players are singing kmen Ohio Michigan players run to Midfield ready to plant the the flag in it Midfield they did that two years ago when they won in Columbus players then leave Carman Ohio to rush to to Midfield to break it up and just was not a pretty scene yeah you were on the field I was still the Press bu finishing my story Jack sya ripped the flag off the P um you know I didn’t see all of what happened but I saw that um you know just a shocking shocking boss I mean Michigan didn’t even have its best offensive player colon Leland didn’t play they tight end didn’t play um you know Ohio State couldn’t run the ball I think they ran for 77 yards I think 26 carries and they kept going to it you know 26 carries and a lot of carries when you’re running in Rick Wall they had one scoring drive one touchdown Drive the end of the first half 75 yards almost all through the air didn’t score in the second half didn’t score in the second half this offense and that is I think for high one of the more inexcusable parts of the losses you bring in Chip Kelly to call the offense and they couldn’t muster single point in the third quarter or the fourth quarter and they got set up pretty nicely and in a couple couple situations where in the third quarter Cody Simon gets in the face of Davis Warren then he throws the interception to Caleb DS who just Scoops it up before hits the turf really good field position Miss field goal the that that was that was C yes um Jack or was in the end zone or near the end zone y so I think that’s just the the sticky team point is just he couldn’t and and the and Michigan’s first two points on the board the the field goal and the the touchdown in the first half came off situation where they didn’t have to pick the first down those two scoring drives only needed five yards before Michigan got into the Enzo then on the board with a with a 54 yard field goal if you’d asked me before the game how many chances how many times in 10 games we M beat High State i’ probably would have said one and this was the one the game played out exactly the way state or how Michigan wanted to be it just became a slog became a grind I mean they won the not just the field goals I mean their kicker SP kick a 54 yard field goal while Fielding this two shorter ones there was an exchange of punts where it was a net of 57 yards or 37 yards Michigan kicked a 60 something 68 yard punt and Ohio States was 31 they let it roll b a chance to fi it maybe around the 20 and then end up rolling further back even the second half started obiously trayon Henderson was the turn guy and the ball you know again the wind was in his face and the ball drops which means he can’t call for a fair catch ends up recovering at the six yd line and they actually drove they would have been if it been like a normal you know 25 yd line they would have been in field goal range but they weren’t and so field kicking game hurt them um this was just you could just almost feel it I the crowd booed at certain points of the game yeah uh there was real exed you could feel it um you I think Ohio State needed to jump on Michigan early and they didn’t do it they got the field goal early but that was it the pick it was essentially a pick six and two plays later this game that that was devastating but you know we Ohio state had done this before see will Howard throw pick six against Penn State out on 10 nothing you know hostile environment you know iio State rallied and took took the game over didn’t happen today they all been a great second half team all year there were I think you look this up the bit maybe a few AG but one of the highest third quarter scoring teams in the country and had zero points in the third quarter only the second time it’s happened all year the previous time being in Nebraska and and now wellio State’s in a tough spot at this point for they they’re they’re still going to make the college football play off they’re they finish the regular season 10- two overall they’re they’re almost likely surely not going to make the big 10 championship game but we’ll still should get an enlargement Iver of two top 10 wins over Indiana Penn State but it’s going to be a much tougher road to to advance and you question kind of the the mindset of the team I mean how do you get over this is why this game more than anything else is why these seniors came back so how do you regroup how do you how do you you know you going to play a good team in the playoff and you know are they going to show up to play they were too devastated to even really address that today they were they they said you know they were a loss forwards almost and so that’s the challenge you know and this will obviously bring up questions about Ryan B’s future um we don’t need to go into that too much now but just to say that it does I mean you could tell the frustration from the south Sands late late in the game people were chaining some explodes at Ryan day when when Ross Bor headed up the tunnel somebody yelled at Ross Bor ad we got to fix this Ross we got to fix this so that that’s where the think certain segment of the fan base is just losing four straight to Michigan is just not something that’s happened in more than generation and this is the most painful of the four as we said because of the fact that this was a loaded Ohio State team and not a loaded Michigan team and it didn’t matter the same result well thank you for watching um appreciate you watching you may not want to after witnessing that game but appreciate you uh spending time with us
