uh brutal loss guys the Lakers uh coming home one and three on this roow trip they were close to uh kind of knocking that bad taste out of their mouth this one was going to knock them out of the water uh because they play really hard um just some miscues and execution some extremely lazy passes like I could get in between you know the offensive players and make a steal the way they that that last that um ad made to LeBron was just soft open so you know they they had quite a few of those I didn’t like all the switching like Gabe was switching a lot and and being left with you know capella down in the post and then that last one was a little bit miscommunication if you toch if you going to switch switch they thought about it and then both ad and Gabe kind of went back at at the same guy and left uh Trey open so yeah that this one’s tough because you kind of beat yourself again with the turnovers um it was just it was just a hard they played hard enough to win but poor execution down the stretch on both ends uh just still something they got to they got to deal with is that something James where they just lost by 41 couple days ago by 29 the day before that but this one hurts more more M than either of those two mhm and why because you have LeBron 39 points and a triple double ad 38 points the big two came to play and they they wanted to say there’s no way we’re going to lose to this young very much improved very athletic very active defensively Atlanta team G yeah and yet it happened and it also hurts that you had two really good efforts from two Lakers who have been struggling Gabe Vincent he was he was solid tonight Max Christie the blocked shot that sent the game into overtime so those two guys were playing well too Max unfortunately fouls out in overtime we have your big two and the two supporting guys playing so well just cannot come up with the wge loser Losers of seven of their last nights you see at the bottom of their screen there it’s it’s it’s trouble right now yeah there’s also lack of execution and regulation the Lakers go one of three on the road trip let’s hear from JJ reck he’s speaking with Mike trell in the media JJ it did seem like you got the resp resp from you know energy competitive standpoint but is the the late game execution or is there is there frustration kind of Shades from the Orlando game how do you put all that together different different type scenario than the Orlando game but certainly uh frustrated with late game execution um you know turnover um Braun makes a a great play to to get the block um you know wasn’t exactly the right sort of angles and screening that we had sort of done a few times not a few times many times you know in practice you our one of our endgame get the ball in plays and uh I think the concern when you run that is when ad comes back towards Court you know that’s not what you want ideally you know um cuz then he’s sort of in a trappable spot versus catching it in the middle of the floor um and then um you know they they did a good job just uh in pursuit of the basketball um on the jump ball um and then you know I don’t know if it was the communication or whatnot but you know you can’t we messed up the the red with with Trey young um left him open so are you wanting to to Blitz him there to like get the ball out of his hands ideally or it was discussed with the group yeah no we we weren’t um it just a you know normal red scenario like you would you would do a million times uh end game um thought Gabe defensively was really good um you know you know I thought a lot of our guys really competed on that end uh Trey’s tre’s tough you know he’s he he he he’s not the size of some of the bigger players like Luca or LeBron or uh Joker but he can he knows how to manipulate a defense um he’s he’s he’s a really good player joj uh you mentioned gay you gave him a start tonight what winning to put him in the starting lap and how much was that matchup you know going against Trey um yeah it just felt like um again we we we debated back and forth do we want to play coverage do we want to be in switching um and you know I think he was he 9 for 25 um you know I think the thought process was you know that staying out of coverage and out of drop where he’s just you know throwing the ball over the place and getting 18 assists was not the right option and then he it’ss 20 so um didn’t do a great job of um our Reds in general um thought when we did it it was it was solid and we kept people in front of us but um yeah just too much you know we talk all the time too is like if we’re going to you know we we we always have the whole season I’ve had switching groups and if you still need a low low man and and I don’t think we were great uh with our with our low man tonight had a couple good low man but didn’t have didn’t have good low man 39 10 and 11 for LeBron in defeat let’s go inside the Lakers locker room he’s with Mike LeBron clearly the just level of competition and energy was a lot better than the previous games did you feel like it you know comes down to late game execution what stood out to you tonight nothing they uh they made a couple more plays than we made how did you feel about the response from the the way you get played in Miami we just played how you were supposed to play is this the standard in terms of effort that needs to be out there for you guys on a nightly basis I don’t know yeah they’re noten going to get it all back uh in one night you and AD obviously had that huge productive Titan nights but there was a couple plays late the turnover misc and then the imbalance where he got wrapped up like how do you guys communicate with one another after that knowing that what happened he turned it over I picked him up got back got the block We Got The Possession we got it in they tied it up those are not miscues he turned it over it’s my job to back him that’s what teammates do I got back got the block off Daniel’s hands we got the ball back enter the ball they did a great job of tying him up Yan Braun I guess Mo moving forward you guys are going to be back in La for about a week before going back out on the road but what can got the game on Sunday but but what can this kind of stretch after basically being on the road for two weeks do for you guys in terms of like resetting and should leave Thursday so it’s not a week we leave Thursday to go to Minnesota so one game for one home for one game and then leaving a few more days after thaton you’re you’re 39 almost 40 39 Point triple double you think the fans you’re really appreciating what you’re able to still do um I don’t know um just go out there and just play the game the right way compete at a high level and uh leave it all on the floor every time I go out there um my time is very limited on how long I’ll play so you know I’m just happy to still be able to play the game that I love gab Drew this start for you guys tonight had one of his more productive games since join the team last year what what I guess did you see from him out there tonight and what can I guess I guess that version of you play well he played ex he played well got the start night he played well last question obviously the the losing is is frustrating excuse me problem um what do it what’s it going to take for this team to get over the what where are you seeing like not enough coming from uh we have about Five Guys in our top 11 not a uniform you know trying to get we mixed matching with lineups we’re trying to figure out ways obviously so it’s very challenging you know um we don’t have much room for ER I said that in the beginning of the season so when you have five guys when you have AR out you know Vando out you know cwood has not played this year um Jackson you know so it’s big big big p big pieces you know and um you know so I don’t I don’t know as far as what will help us get over the hump we just got to just not drown you know don’t don’t drown and we’ be all right I appreciate it obvious frustrations LeBron saying these aren’t Mis cues it’s just what happened in the game we made a good play they tied us up you know um also talked about big pieces uh missing and and and just trying not to drown trying to stay afloat but it is tough big game and and the frustrations Mount when obviously it’s different when you get blown out and the effort and you’re having a different kind of conversation the post game but like Orlando or or or like Atlanta and it’s going to happen in 82 game schedule when when the game is in hand and you’re right there and you lose it it’s tough on the other side yeah yeah I mean look the games in Atlanta tonight I mean it ball down to like a two-minute contest you had to know who might be taking the shot so you want to stay at home on trade at all cost but you know when you’re playing the game sometimes your instincts take over and just a spit second cost him the game G James the problem with the West it’s so tightly packed so when the Lakers start of this road trip four games ago they were right around top four in the west as of now they are now 10th Max chrisy scored nine points before fouling out he’s with Mike in the locker room all right Max so first of all clearly a a better response right after the Miami game and even the Minnesota one but I presume the frustration is you know just as much as head back on a long flight what stands out the most to you about this one yeah like you said I think if you’re looking at it from a process standpoint this was a good bounceback for us I thought us as a cohesive unit was a lot better than Miami or previously on the road trip without a communication was better um I think we did enough to win the game they hit a big shot at the end um but overall I think from a process standpoint this is a good step in the right direction just take us through the possession on trade the end of regulation when you get the block yeah I think uh they were running bog damage or something into a kind of a ghost screen where we did a good job communicating so I just stayed on him and I’m looking behind the clock’s kind of taken down he’s beyond the four-point line so I know he’s got do some sort of step back something crazy so I was able to anticipate it kind of gave me a little In-N-Out to step back and I was able to anticipate the block you end up falling out in not what what did you see on that play and kind of just the the way that the whistle was going throughout the night for you it was a physical game to be honest um and I think JJ made that point too he wanted us to be physical and um I think I did a good job of that obviously I fouled out maybe a little bit too much but on that last play I just closed out really hard DeAndre Hunter shooting it really well he shot it really well tonight so I kind of wanted to close out to him make him put on the ground and kind of close out a little too to recklessly and he bump into me fell down so is what it is when the team is in the stretch where you guys have lost seven and nine um how tough is it to to view things at a process standpoint when the immediate gratification like I mean you can sense the energy in here I mean you guys need to win mhm no for sure I mean it’s it’s difficult obviously we all want to win that’s all what we’re here for um I think over some reflection and watching film and I think even tomorrow we’ll see one we’re watching film that we got better I think from previous games on this road trip and just looking at a process standpoint we took a step in the right direction even though the outcome wasn’t there so that’s all we can ask for to be honest obviously we wanted to win but um I think this game will serve us in the future all right guys uh tough loss big game James but uh long flight home to think about it get home and uh regroup for Sunday yeah I mean they played really hard I I I listened to Max they communicated well there was two or three situations that they you have to look at and you know they they they take back but you know there are no moral victories uh but they they have to come home and hopefully this will propel them into a place where they’re thinking communicating and playing defense every night transferring to some winds hopefully Portland Sunday here in La got to beat them then you start your weird stretch where you get a little bit of a break keep right see what they can do
