so the Mets have gone and signed a former Yankee no not the one you’re thinking of what’s going on Baseball fans Jeremy lente here discussing the fact that the New York Mets have signed clay Holmes to a three-year $38 million deal with intended plans to make him a starting pitcher now I think that for clay Holmes this is a tremendous deal I think that his stuff is much more likely to translate as a starting pitcher than it was as a closer that heavy bowling ball type Sinker to me plays much better earlier in the game I made that point numerous times throughout the course of the Yankee season and especially through the postseason I think that his bowling ball type Sinker is really something that will play well especially in a larger ballpark like City Field especially in comparison to Yankee Stadium so I think that for the Mets the thought of moving Kay Holmes to the starting rotation is a very smart move and obviously a good sign for the player
