in today’s NBA news we’re taking a look at some very big trade rumors for the Los Angeles Lakers the Detroit Pistons and the Washington Wizards the future of Kyle kusma is definitely in the [Music] open all right guys welcome to Ango Sports I want to kick things off with Kyle kuzma as you guys know he currently plays for the Washington Wizards no win November uh yeah the Washington Wizards are not having a successful season thus far and this is where things get really interesting in the 2024 2025 season up until this point cusma has been averaging 15.8 points 5.6 rebounds 1.9% and he’s shooting 42% from the field now with that being said there’s a lot of interesting talk surrounding kusma and his future and it looks like the Lakers Miami Heat Milwaukee bucks the Warriors and Cavs are among the teams that are currently monitoring his situation as a potential trade Target now for those who don’t remember he almost went to the Dallas Mavericks last season but that didn’t end up happening he remains in Washington Wizards a team that is desperate to get some wins under their belt now what I find incredibly fascinating is that Kyle kosma was pretty outspoken last season about Detroit not being able to win games games and the reason why that has become so funny is because of the fact that the Wizards are also having a very tough time winning games uh probably shouldn’t be speaking as much as he did now with that being said K kusma plays small forward sometimes he plays at the four uh you know this is a guy who I think for the most part largely since he left the Lakers there’s been a lot of question marks about where he fits in the NBA I personally think he fits pretty well in the NBA a but I do think out of those teams who are monitoring the situation I would go as far as saying the Warriors and Lakers are probably going to be the ones who try to make things happen now there’s a variety of reasons why this will make sense and we’ll talk about it in just a little bit because there are some trade rumors for the Lakers but those two could be the most ideal Landing spots for KY kusma and uh obviously that makes a lot of sense now keep in mind the Wizards are 2 and 16 this is not a good season for them and if they want to improve at all they are going to have to make some changes but they are a team with not a lot of depth and Kyle kma might be one of the most valuable assets that they have on their team as it stands so we’ll have to see how that plays out also keep in mind 2 and6 record not impressive at all making a trade here doesn’t necessarily mean the Wizards could rebound but I think it is safe to say based on this season start the Wizards are going to be struggling all season long okay let’s turn our attention to the Detroit Pistons because there seems to be some interest for the Detroit Pistons to move Isaiah Stewart at least according to Mike a Scotto he says NBA Executives believe Isaiah Stewart will be available on the trade market and I think this is a really interesting topic for a variety of reasons Isaiah Stewart known as a center in the NBA last season we saw him play as a power forward this year D picker bicker staff the new coach for the Detroit Pistons uh they have him playing Off the Bench as a center now just as it stands uh he has a current stat line of 6.3 points per game 6.4 rebounds per game 1.9 assist per game as well as 55.1% field goal percentage from the field um now obviously with Isaiah Stewart it’s kind of interesting because the Pistons are slightly rebound in this season obviously last year they did absolutely terrible and this year they are 9 and 13 to start the season so this is not a team by any means that is guaranteed a playoff spot but as it stands they are obviously making some changes it started with traan Langdon uh becoming the president of the uh the team obviously he hired JB bicker staff who saw a lot of success in Cleveland and now we’re starting to see a whole new Pistons team which is different from years in the past uh also in the NBA cup so far they are 3 and0 so why would the Pistons might want to trade Isaiah Stewart there’s a couple things if you’re looking at the Pistons that you need to analyze relatively quickly the Detroit Pistons this season already have improved immensely on defense and offense I mean they’re definitely putting up points they’re definitely making stops on defense but there’s a couple issues with the Detroit Pistons team that could be solved by bringing in veteran presence now the Detroit Pistons in my opinion need a backup point guard who is very solid that can help close out games at a time where maybe Kate Cunningham is either injured or unreliable now with that being said Isaiah Stewart is somebody that’s averaging currently 22 minutes per game he’s started two games this season but his statistics are relatively low even though his field goal percentage is over 50% it’s not like this guy is attempting many many shots in a game and Isaiah Stewart coming off the bench is a great way to help with Jaylen Duren who sometimes might find himself in foul trouble but what the Pistons really need to do is start to break up some of that young core JB bicker staff has a huge challenge ahead of him developing so many young guys at once and the Pistons notoriously have stopped trades from happening in the past when the value was a lot higher than normal for example boyan bogdanovich was offered the Pistons were offered two first round picks for him and the Pistons turned that down now granted that was a different leadership and that was why the Pistons failed immensely but now the Pistons opening up trade talks for Isaiah Stewart could make sense you might as well get the value while it’s there now what teams could benefit from Isaiah Stewart there’s plenty of them but the one that strikes up the most interesting possible scenario is the Los Angeles Lakers which would be ironic considering Isaiah Stewart’s viral moment with LeBron James that brings us to D’Angelo Russell the Los Angeles Lakers are potentially going to move D’Angelo Russell now this is where things get incredibly interesting the Lakers boast the seventh best offense in the NBA but their seventh worst defense overshadows pretty much all of that and the Lakers could definitely benefit from having Isaiah Stewart on their team because he is somebody who is more of a defensive threat than offensive obviously D’Angelo Russell is more of an offensive threat than a defensive threat now there has been talks of the Lakers for a while potentially going after Walker Kessler Miles Turner and Brook Lopez but this is where things get uh very interesting because the Lakers in order to make a deal for D’Angelo Russell there’s got to be a perfect scenario and there’s not that many perfect scenarios and this is largely due to contracts and then also who really wants to pick up D’Angelo Russell because he is not that young now of course there’s some rumors that maybe Memphis could move on from Marcus Smart and trade him to the Lakers but I do imagine that maybe the Pistons and Lakers could actually benefit from some trade talks the Pistons just brought in Tim Hardaway Jor they brought in Malik Beasley and I absolutely love those additions for the Detroit Pistons but if you’re going to try and acquire any sort of trade in this season Isaiah Stewart is probably your most likely piece now Tobias Harris is also one that is struggling a little bit this season I wonder if the Pistons and the Lakers come up with a package deal obviously I haven’t looked at salaries to see what would be you know actually required but I think both teams have a need here Pistons need a veteran guard and the Lakers need some defensive help now D’Angelo Russell coming off the bench for the Pistons might not make a lot of sense and I don’t necessarily like the idea of D’Angelo Russell coming to Detroit but I could definitely see TOS being there I think this is one of those situations where both teams can definitely help each other with the right move there’s been Rumors in the past that Pistons may have been interested in Austin Reeves and then the Lakers not necessarily wanting to do that maybe the Lakers will be willing to make a trade however if they are willing to make a trade just know that they would be expecting more than Isaiah Stewart and then you have to wonder what Tran Langdon would be doing on the Piston’s behalf so very interesting I think the the D’Angelo Russell Saga in Lakers does come to an end by trade deadline it is still relatively early in the season but we’ll see what teams make the move obviously Brook Lopez going to the Lakers could make a lot of sense too uh of course Walker Kessler would be a great addition but I do feel like in order for something to happen here the Lakers are going to have to give up a little bit more in order for teams to take in D’Angelo Russell and I think maybe the Detroit Pistons could bite at that opportunity anyways I want to know what you guys think in the comment section down below I love hearing different theories and ideas so drop a comment and I’ll respond to them and for now I’ll see you later
