[Music] what is up everybody this is the sharp angles podcast the Monday afternoon edition of the sharp angles podcast where I discuss the waiver wire of for the fantasy football week I discuss injuries with the one the only Tucker Bagley how you doing Tucker I’m doing good Ray it was a busy weekend for for injuries not only for for holidays but for injuries so excited to talk about it all today yeah it was a it was a busy weekend it is kind of funny I always get to Sunday in these in these like busy holiday weeks and I I like I feel like I’m not prepared I feel like I haven’t looked at as much as I need to look at because you just have so many other things I had all day Thursday family stuff all day Friday you know I’m not breaking news everybody has that um and I’m certainly not breaking news for people that you know do a bunch of fantasy football while stuff while also working a real job which believe me I remember doing that and so like I’m not breaking uh not breaking any news here but it is it is always like I get to Sunday I’m like I don’t know how ready I am for this and uh yeah it was a it was an interesting interesting week indeed obviously had on Sunday night the Christian mcaffrey injury which is something we’ll talk about and and we’ll get into and is uh is frustrating and uh upsetting to lose one of the one of the Premier offensive players in the league for what looks like uh the rest of the season so you know certainly disappointing before we get into all of that I do want to make mention that you know Tucker and I do this live every single Monday at 4 uh that’ll be great we’re going to keep running uh you know these shows we’re going to keep going all the way through the playoffs so a lot lot still going on I know we’re in reaching the end here of the fantasy football season and we’ll talk about that a little bit uh towards the end of the show but we are you know we’re going to go strong all the way through the real playoffs and so you know have a lot to talk about the rest of the way but I guess we should get started here with you know Christian mcaffrey who suffered another knee injury and and I have to say like in that game he was you know it was a tough game because of the field condition people were sliding all around so it wasn’t like you had the most explosive like uh plays that you could see because you know people just were struggling for footing but mcaffry looked good in that play in fact the play that he either got hurt on or or was before he got hurt that or right after he got hurt that play was like a nice long run he looks more like the Christian mcaffrey we had been hoping to see you know way back way back in week one now he has a knee injury and it seems like it seems like he’s probably done for the year right yeah I mean he was probably the the 49ers best offensive player in The Limited touches he got he had seven carries he had over 50 rushing yards I I think um yeah it seems like he’s probably trending towards being done for the season he has a PCL injury um in his knee I think he’s supposed to get an MRI later today that’ll basically give us an idea of what the the severity of that injury is but yeah it’s kind of a weird point now with the 49ers because with the loss they’re now five- seven they’re in last place in their division so I think they’re only two games back right now of of the Seahawks for first place in the NFC West but they’re trailing two other teams so it’s going to be tough for them to kind of work their way out of the basement into a playoff spot so you wonder how many more meaningful games they have left and if that’s the case how long until they shut down Chris mcaffry if you were to go on the IR um you know starting next week for week 15 that would basically rule him out for the the rest of the regular season right because he would have to miss four weeks so if you look at that I don’t know if he ends up on the IR until maybe you know a week or two from now maybe they try to see if he come back week 16 week 17 um I I do know from what I’ve read this is an injury that could be like a three to five week injury thing so I I would say more than likely he he’s done for the season his dad Ed mcaffry did come out today and in an interview say if he’s healthy if he’s able to play he’s going to be out on the field whether or not the 49ers have anything left to left to play for but I just think right now based on you know kind of the way this season has gone for him already and you know where the 49ers are in the standings it’s probably you know close time to just kind of putting him on ice and trying to get him healthy for week one of next year yeah and as you said I mean if he goes on IR if he goes on IR this week he could return in week 18 right because 14 15 16 17 right and so he then could return in week 18 and that is a pivotal that possibly I should say could be a pivotal game against the Cardinals uh that week uh but the thing is like you mentioned if they’re going to jump they now have to jump two other teams uh they do play the Rams again they play them not this coming up week not week 14 but week 15 and then again they play the Cardinals in in the season finale but they’ve already played the Seahawks twice they lost to them obviously uh in in week 11 so they’re not going to gain any ground on their own against the Seahawks Seahawks have kind of a tough schedule the rest of the way the Cardinals don’t really have a tough schedule the the rest of the way but and they do get to play them so maybe there is some hope there if you’re still holding out hope for the 49ers I had been holding out hope for this team because we know kind of we know what this team can do when it’s healthy and obviously it hasn’t that really at any point this season the defense certainly doesn’t feel the same as it’s felt and obviously they you know they’ve had issues with Nick Bosa for instance uh missing missing time Fred Warner I think he been playing with a broken foot since week like two or three I think that’s what he said uh which is wild Drake Greenlaw is not there he’s still you know recovering from that injury from the Super Bowl and so like there’s there are a lot of issues they have on this team but I was kind of like all right are they going to bounce back they’re still in this like you said there’s still only two games back in the division um which we’re running out of time but with five games left to play like that’s you know maybe that’s something that they could claw back but yeah it is a it is just it’s this felt like this game getting beat the way they did by Buffalo losing Christian mcaffrey this felt like the game where I finally went oh okay this is this is done and maybe we’re wrong I mean like this team is is talented obviously this team has a good coach um maybe they maybe they figured out losing Chris mcaffrey is a big deal but we’ve seen Jordan Mason earlier in the season step up and not give exactly what chrisan mcaffry gives because he’s not that kind of player in the passing game but be able to be a very effective Runner a very effective running back um so perhaps they’re able to just kind of fight through this and they have a game this week against the Bears and they play the Rams and they play the Dolphins they have a really tough game against the Lions and they have the Cardinals those are tough games a lot of those teams are you know good teams fighting for playoffs right a lot of those teams um and so and well maybe not the Dolphins we’ll see after this kind of last loss but so like they’re good teams the lions are a very good team maybe the best team in the NFL but it’s also not like the worst possible schedule you can have so I guess we’ll see it makes sense to me for them to put him on IR see what happens see if he can be back by week 18 if they need him in week 18 if there’s a chance to make the playoffs maybe they activate him that would be my guess of what happens here but that is you know very much a guess based on The Vibes we’re getting here early on you know early on Monday afternoon yeah and I mean even dating back to to last night right I mean k shanan was was asked on the field you know I think at halftime right what is he coming back what’s the plan and he flatly said no he he’s he’s done which normally if there were any inkling that that he could be back that he could be healthy that you know something could happen a miracle could happen like any coach even just for gamesmanship would say he’s questionable the fact that he was ruled out so quickly the fact that you know immediately it it seemed so Doom and Gloom and I mean there were a lot of other things to be upset if you were the 49ers with last night there were a lot of things to be upset and down about but yeah it just it feels like we’re trending towards you know anir trip for Christian mcaffrey again on the kind of waiver wire aspect of this I mean Jordan Mason has been dropped in in a lot of leagues he’s he’s available in around 60% of ESPN leagues so there are leagues where he’s out there I’m in a league that has a very short bench that has only you know four players on the bench so even though it’s 14 teams when it only has four players on the bench you know that gets tricky as you get here through the through the by weeks and some play end up getting dropped he’s available in that league if Jordan Mason is available in your league you spend all of the Fab dollars that you have left there’s not really there’s no real analysis to do here we know what Jordan Mason was before you know by the way he kind of was dealing with injuries towards the end there before the bye before mcaffrey came back right so if you look at kind of the three games before the bye you might say well there was some there was some sharing going on there with Isaac gindo which is true but that’s because we had those shoulder injuries he you know left two games early if you just look at week seven kind of that middle one that middle game he had 48 snaps to five for gindo Jordan Mason had 16 touches to two for gindo he was still the very clear lead back I would expect that to continue if you’re in a deeper league and you have roster spots and you want to take you know some some handcuff shots I do think picking up Isaac gendo you know makes sense he’s available in you know most leagues he’s out there and so that does certainly make some sense here because we have seen Mason struggle with injuries at some at you know different points he left this game against Buffalo for a little bit I believe to get a concussion evaluation and then and then came back and so like there’s there are some you know maybe we see that but ultimately this is Jordan Mason if he’s available in your league spend all the Fab you have left on him this is the guy this is the one this is the spot unload it and you know and hope hope for the best here and the schedule like I said I read off the 49er schedule a little bit there the rest of the way uh the Bears ranked 21st in fantasy points allowed to running backs the Rams ranked 23rd the Dolphins ranked 22nd the Lions right third that’s going to be a tough spot would expect them to be a negative game script as well so that’s not great for Mason because you know we haven’t seen him catch a ton of passes then the Cardinals they rank 18th in fantasy points allowed to running back so it’s a good schedule spend all your Fab on Jordan Mason I don’t think I’m breaking any like breaking any news here if he’s available just just blow it and and have fun and see what happens yeah I mean there there’s nothing really more to add if there’s a situation where a running back gets this kind of opportunity um I I just don’t see it happening and we’ll see uh it would be really funny if we entered this season with them like continuing to say that Christian mcaffrey has an opportunity to play in week one and kind of leading us along like that until you know ultimately what he sat until week 10 it would be really funny if they’re all doom and gloom right now and then mcaffrey just plays this week like I don’t think that’s what’s gonna happen obviously but that would be a nice full circle moment for this 49ers season in our relationship as fantasy football players to this 49ers if they did that uh so if that’s what you’re doing Kyle Shanahan I salute you that is a great Troll and I’m hopeful I’m hopeful that’s what you’re doing because I want to see Christian mcaffry play but we’ll we’ll see uh let’s move on to talk about a few other things obviously a a really interesting interesting is not the right word a a kind of hectic situation in Jacksonville involving Trevor Lawrence before we do Lawrence situation late hit by a Aziz al-shaher um when when Lawrence was sliding got hit around the head and neck injury area I had kind of when I was watching it happen I didn’t know if this was like a concussion situation if this was like an aggravation of that shoulder injury because we know that you know we know that he’s still dealing with that shoulder injury or was still dealing with that shoulder injury coming to the game it seems now like it was a concussion but either way I mean it’s another injury for Trevor Lawrence and it’s tough to see kind of where we’re going from here with him yeah I mean Doug Peterson said today that he’s in concussion protocol so it officially is a a concussion which go back and watch the play I mean a lot of the force like you said was kind of to the neck or shoulder injury before the his head kind of snapped back it was really like a forearm to the throat um was most of the the impact on the injury but heing concussion protocol that means he’s probably out um you know this week week 15 and then who kind of knows right I mean they only have I think like a less than 1% chance of even making the postseason at this point it’s been you know a Lost season for for Trevor Lawrence for the Jacksonville Jaguars and kind of like mcaffry like you just wonder if they have nothing left to play I still think you know he’s obviously under contract I think they move on from Doug Peterson and and try to start over with Trevor Lawrence and a new new head coach um come next year whether that’s bill bich or or whoever it may be um I I bet there’s a good chance that they probably just rule him out for the rest of the year and and try to get him healthy for for kind of a new rebuild and a new regime come next season I want to talk for a second I mean that’s all true like I this feels like the time that we just kind of call it good on Trevor Lawrence but we’ve been there before it seemed like that a few weeks ago with his shoulder injury and then obviously they came back and like you said Doug Peterson said they haven’t made any decisions yet they still want to compete which obviously that makes sense Doug you know coaching for his job assuming he still wants that job that’s I think a fair and open question but the reaction to this if you were watching Red Zone which my kind of setup is I have I have you know the quad box on the main TV and then some other screens with games but I have the audio on the red zone so you know as they say something’s happening I can go and look at you know one of the other screens to make sure make sure I’m catching everything and I love Red Zone I love scottt Hansen but the way they talked about this situation was like it was the Kennedy assassination like this was the worst thing that’s ever happened on the field uh in an an NFL game I mean it was a late hit it wasn’t a good hit um he’s probably goingon to get suspended for it which is fair it makes sense they had a nice little brawl afterwards which I guess this was the weekend of brawls if you watched any of the college football action this week but like it wasn’t it wasn’t that awful of a hit or a like am I wrong like what why was the why was the kind of reaction to this like so so over the top it just seemed like it was like all right you know he he was a late hit he elbowed him in the throat or forearmed him in the throat that’s bad he got ejected he’s gonna get suspended that’s good uh Trevor Lawrence’s team stood up for him and they had a you know a little a little fight okay that that happens like what why did people freak out about this it was so strange watching like the reaction to it especially because they they lingered on it for for minutes and they didn’t even catch it live it was minutes after after and then they decided to show the the whole thing through because like you like I had Red Zone on and that’s what I was listening to and I had the Jaguars game on another TV with the other you know NFL Sunday Ticket games and I thought it was weird because like they were already playing like mt Jones was already in the game the game had resumed everything was fine and you’re right like Scott Hansen and NFL Redstone just lingered and went back and like they decided they’re going to show the whole thing in full just like on a two-minute delay just so we could watch the whole thing it it made no sense and I feel like I missed a lot just because they were so insistent on showing that entire thing from from start to finish there was one point later where Hansen like he had like a kronite moment where he came on and said and ladies and gentlemen Trevor Lawrence is out like like it was like all right all right I I guess I mean I saw him cut it off I kind of assumed and I love Hansen you know he he does a great job every like he is the voice of my Sundays like I said I’m watching all the other games but he’s the one that the audio is on and so like I it it was so funny it was so strange and I’m not really sure kind of why they why they went that way but with you know you mentioned M Jones ma Jones came into this game he was bad as he as he has been MC Jones has just not been very good um and his three games of extended action this season he has an off Target rate of 18.1% The League average for qualified quarterbacks is 10.4% uh so he has been well worse than the league average for off Target rate he’s averaged 5.8 yards per attempt uh completed 55% of his passes that’s not great if you’re giving him a pass he has average 10.1 air yards per attempt which that would be behind just Anthony Richardson among qualified quarterbacks uh in at air yards per attempt and so I mean he is throwing it down the field that is going to hurt your of Target rate that is going to hurt your efficiency but even so um it is it’s not it’s not been great if you think about it from kind of like a fantasy perspective Evan Ingram’s actually been his most popular Target which is surprising given some of the things that I I just said but Evan Ingram’s a targeted on nearly 30% of his routes with ma Jones on the field so that’s you know good for Evan Ingram Brian Thomas is next on that list he should be based on kind of the way that M Jones has played we should see down thefield opportunities for for Brian Thomas we saw that in this game M Jones missed him on what should have been I believe a touchdown I can’t remember if there’s another Defender behind but I it should have been a long play maybe a touchdown Brian Thomas kind of made a play shortly thereafter and kind of got some of those yards but that should have been a you know a big play for Brian Thomas and then I mean we’re keeping this Parker Washington dream alive uh led the team in targets after M Jones took over he caught a touchdown he’s available in 99.1% of leagues I mean if you want to take a shot the Jaguars have the titans this week it’s not a great matchup uh but teams normally cannot run against the Titans Washington found that a lot easier uh than I expected them to but teams normally can’t run so maybe they have to throw them a little bit more but overall Mt Jones has been bad um you know you’re hoping for some big plays from Brian Thomas Jr especially as he gets healthy maybe we get enough targets for Evan Ingram but that’s kind of where we are with this offense from a fantasy perspective yeah M Jones was surprisingly okay coming in for Trevor Lawrence he completed like 20 of 30 passes for for two touchdowns and 235 yards but we we’ve seen what he’s done as a starter we kind of know what this offense looks like with with him at the helm and it’s a lot of Evan ingrams it’s some Brian Thomas Jr and it’s not much else even that like you mentioned kind of his stat line here and I I I should have mentioned that because when I’m like I have this overall view of M Jones and kind of what he’s been yeah his stat line this in this game wasn’t you know wasn’t terrible like you mentioned 20 of 32 235 and two but it wasn’t that good either like he was I said adequate I said he was adequate oh with the I don’t know the it test told a different story for a lot of what we saw from ma Jones in that game at least in my opinion and I’m not a scout so maybe I’m wrong but watching that game I uh I did not get the view of him of him playing playing well but yeah you’re right I should have mentioned the numbers had were better this past week so so maybe we see it I hope they’re better because I want Parker Washington uh I want Parker Washington to emerge and everybody to know the the great uh the great player that Parker Washington is we are Penn State thank you all right talk a little bit about Baker Mayfield here I don’t think there’s much to this but he did leave the game against the Panthers with leg injury before you know coming back obviously led the led the comeback it doesn’t seem like there’s much to it but like they brought it up again on Monday and so maybe we should be paying attention to this injury for him yeah I think Todd BS used the term leg soreness um when talking about Baker Mayfield I think they they’ve already announced they expect him to play um I think maybe we’re looking at just more limited time in in practice leading up to to Sunday if this is a more of a pain management thing than an actual injury it is interesting on NFL Network this morning they they reported that initially they thought he had Tor his Achilles based on on how he got step Ste on on the back of his ankle that’s what they initially fear I think he only missed two snaps before coming back in and playing the rest of the game so I mean Baker Mayfield among quarterbacks is one of those guys that you know I don’t I don’t expect to necessarily miss a lot of time if he’s able to to suit up and tape that ankle up he’s going to go out there and play so I would bet he’s probably Limited in practice maybe on on Wednesday and Thursday but I would expect him to be out there uh come game day this is the second I believe it’s the second game in a row that we kind of left it with a little bit of you know is Baker a little banged up kind of on our you know on our radar and so that’s something to keep track of as well we now have two games since Mike Evans returned Mike Evans is obviously leading the team in targets but I do want to mention that Sterling Shepard is second uh in targets among you know Bucks playing mostly from the slot which again is where we saw Chris Godwin fed targets before the Godwin injury he’s not like a full-time player because of that because of where he plays but he has a 28.6 Target rate per out he has as many targets as Kate utton against the Panthers and so um you know he’s getting a lot of targets he is that kind of second third option in the passing game and I mean if you need somebody in Deer PPR leagues especially this week with you know six teams on bu and a ton a ton of um you know of like high impact fantasy players I saw along the bottom producer Matt had all of the players who are on by this week going on on like a little like a little like ticker down at the bottom and there’s just you know there’s a ton of them so if you just need a guy in a PPR League to maybe maybe get some catches this week in a good matchup against you know the Raiders that you know he can certainly he could certainly be that speaking of that match up against the Raiders um it is a really good matchup it’s especially good matchup for running backs and so that makes it interesting with what we’re going to do here with Bucky Irving who left that game with a hip injury came back had big runs had a touchdown had a massive game was really important to you know the comeback effort there uh for for the bucks but you know after the game it kind of seemed like his hip still bothering him on Monday it kind of seemed like his hip was still bothering him so I I don’t really know what to do with this and what we’re gonna see from Bucky Irving this week yeah I mean like you said it’s it’s kind of interesting because he did go out he he was hurt and then he’s able to come back he’s able to play he’s able to finish the game and kind of was their offense um down the stretch but if you watch I think there’s a video on on Twitter if you go back um of him kind of limping through the tunnel back to the locker room after the game Todd BS mentioned it’s something they’re they’re monitoring throughout the week so could be something he got through on on adrenaline and and maybe he will need to to take s take some time off uh coming in in the next coming coming weeks but it’s going to be G to be interesting I think this is something we’re have to wait uh to see what he does in practice on Wednesday and Thursday this week to really get a better idea of of what he he’s going to be moving forward because like you said he played great he would have really known he was injured and then you go watch him walk down the tunnel and he walks like he’s you know 80 years old in desperate need of a of a hip replacement so I I think we just really are kind of in a wait and see pattern right now I just took a sip of water as I was off of as I was off screen and uh it tried to murder me so I think we’re back you gotta watch out for that I I think we’re back I I believe there might be water currently in my lungs that is uh going to slowly turn into pneumonia but this is all I think we’re good I think we’re I think we’re good excuse me right now um yeah on the on the Bucky Irving thing um we did see a lot more Rashad white in kind of in that last Drive which I mean that makes sense from like a passing perspective but also we saw him in overtime Irving did play three snaps U but we did see you know more Rashad white there in overtime which given how effective Irving had been I that that meant something to me I kind of took something from that that maybe you know maybe there is still something lingering lingering here if Bucky Irving is fine right then this back field we did see it condense around white and Irving in in this game Shan Tucker pretty much disappeared um white and Irving had almost identical like Snap shares and snap count over the last two games though Bucky Irving has six touches in gold too situations two for sha Tucker one for Rashad white so from a fantasy perspective you are getting what you want out of Bucky Irving he’s running enough routes he’s inv involved enough there he’s getting the go to go touches and he’s just a more effective running back this is I think the best possible scenario we could have hoped for for buck Irving and the Bucks have you know I’ve mentioned it a couple weeks ago when talking about you know maybe stash the Bucks defense if you just need a defense that you need to write out if you’re in a format that doesn’t allow transactions during the playoffs like an ffpc or something like that like they’re one that you can write out that schedule’s also pretty good from a running perspective as well and so Bucky Irving you know he’s not available on like a ton of w waiver wire you’re not going to be able to pick him up in any competitive league but if you did pick him up earlier this year when we were really high on him this podcast was really high on him earlier this year you might have a nice a nice run out here or if you have him in basball like I happen to in a lot of baskball teams you might be pretty happy if his hip is fine so let’s hope let’s hope his hip is fine another injury here for Dallas SCD a knee injury I completely missed this injury I don’t even really know when it happened I didn’t see it happen I kind of saw it on Monday Eagles reporters talking about it what so the deal on this one I I don’t really know much yeah I I kind of forgot about it I I remember it happened I remember he he left the game but he still played 71% of the offensive snap so I’m pretty sure he he came back and and finished out the game he just missed some time in the third quarter um however it uh after the game it was reported that it was a non-issue the Eagles didn’t think it was serious he wasn’t expected to miss time and Jeff mlan at the Philadelphia inquire just reported that he’s now considered week to week after an MRI uh revealed a more serious knee injury and he could be a candidate for IR but it isn’t a season ending injury so for the Eagles it’s not season ending I expect he’ll be you know healthy and available in the playoffs but you know on the fantasy schedule as you kind of look down the the barrel of the playoffs coming up this might kind of rule him out for for the last couple weeks of that yeah I mean if he heads it into Reserve that’s it for the fantasy season I guess there are some leagues that play in you know week eight but if if not if your league doesn’t play there that’s that’s the end of him for the fantasy season if he goes on to inj reserve which obviously would be a you know that would be that would certainly be a a tough outcome if he’s someone you had used and then also it’s a problem because like from from a fantasy perspective we’ve seen this before with you know Goddard leaving and we’ll talk about dvon Smith in a second seems like he’ll be back very soon most likely this week but we’ve seen this before with Goddard out and you know the top two there there’s not really a ton of production left for everybody else it also doesn’t help that the Eagles just don’t throw anymore um like unless they’re really pushed to throw they’re they’re not going to do it they’re second to last in situation neutral rate and 11% under their expected pass rate since the week five bu they’re not throwing Rich rebar actually shared this stat because we were talking about it in slack the Eagles have a 29% drop back rate in the second half since their bye they drop backed to pass on 29% of their offensive SN Ms in the second half uh since their bye we know how dominant they are they’re 12 and a half Point favorites at home against the Panthers uh this week so like they’re not throwing a ton they already have two kind of really good receivers assuming Devonte Smith is back and again we can talk about him next but I don’t really know what you do with this you’re not going out and trying to get Grant ccera again it didn’t really happen for him there so it’s just it’s a really tough spot here for GD yeah I mean calcatera did put up better numbers this year than he did last year when he filled in for got her I think had a game with like 65 receiving yards but you got to look at what the Eagles offense does when someone goes out they just sort of tighten the circle which is unbelievable like the last two weeks with Devonte Smith out the only guys to get multiple Targets in any game are AJ Brown saquin Barkley and Dallas CD like that’s it like those are the only three guys who have gotten multiple Targets in either game so if Devonte Smith comes back and and Dallas scds out I think you just kind of swap out Gard for Smith in that in that offense I mean they they have shown and maybe it’s a Jay herdz trust issue but they don’t really spread the ball around right this isn’t Patrick Mahomes this isn’t some of the other quarterbacks who throw a six seven eight receivers in a game the Eagles have made it pretty much known that their entire offense revolves around their star players and For Better or Worse that’s who’s going to be touching the ball and as a reminder that update that we just got on GD it’s a good reminder we do this live every single Monday at 4 pm Eastern so uh we don’t talk about the Monday night game so we’ll see what happens on Monday night if an injury happens there as happened last week uh we we won’t be we won’t be discussing that and then also you know sometimes we get some breaking news here uh and that Gard news is certainly not great is that breaking news Trenton Irwin sure if you’re if you’re still holding on to Yash uh and Germaine Burton and hoping for the best this is this some breaking some breaking news um but on on devont Smith it seemed like he was really close this week like this feels like the he’s back right yeah I mean he uh returned to practice I think on Friday on Saturday it was reported that he was going to try to to warm up and and get moving and but there was still some some skepticism as to if he would play and that’s pretty much how it went on Sunday he was out at pregame warm-ups he he was running all reports from you know reporters and beat writers said he looked fine he looked like his normal self he wasn’t didn’t have a a hitch in his run or his stride at all so I think he probably was pretty close to to coming back and they decide to hold him off just in an effort to be more cautious especially when you have a a soft tissue injury like that like it’s so easy to re reinjure so airing on on the side of caution is always sort of recommended so I I think there’s a really good chance that he’s back at practice probably in a limited capacity on Wednesday will probably be a full participant in practice by the end of the week um and I imagine he he’ll be out there on the field against the Panthers on Sunday another receiver injury for us is lad makoni uh suffered a knee injury uh had yet another big game unfortunately left early with a knee injury and I don’t I’m having a tough time getting a good read on this do you have a more on kind of what this might be what we might be looking at kind of what what to expect here with this injury no I still haven’t really seen any any updates on it um Jim Harwall just said we’ll see and that’s that’s really about it um ESPN reported last night that he’s supposed to get some sort of Imaging done today that’ll determine the the extent of his injury but as of right now we don’t necessarily have a a concrete um diagnosis or prognosis on on what things could be moving forward for him so just like kind of Bucky Irving I think it’s just kind of a wait and see situation at this point for the Chargers well dley Goose egged against the Falcons which absolutely destroyed my DFS state but I would expect him if makoni misses time I would expect him to you know soak up some more targets for sure you know Quinton Johnson was still second on the team in routes in week 13 but you have to wonder you know how much longer can we do this he didn’t have a drop but he did have a ball he probably should have caught that got broken up I have vested interest in Quinton Johnston succeeding this year because I I drafted him a lot in bestall I thought he was cheaper than he otherwise should should have been and that looked good for a little bit I don’t know now I am interested in Josh Palmer here he had a 67.9% route participation against the Falcons only had one target but he also did have a two-point conversion if makoni misses time he could certainly see a bump so he’s someone to pay attention to and the Chargers you know maybe they just throw less but obviously they have the injury to JK Dobbins that was the injury from last Monday that I that I mentioned that we didn’t cover because we you know we had already recorded but you know they they don’t have a ton at running back there Gus Edwards didn’t have a a great game we’ll have to see if kamman vdal you know can can live up to my preseason hype of what I hoped he could be but they continue to pass they are second in neutral pass rate since week six since they’re by week um they’re first among normal teams because the Bengals are so far ahead of everyone else that I don’t know if they count but the Chargers second and neutral pass rate they’re you know they’re throwing quite a bit and so if that continues and makon is not there soaking up all of those targets they have to go to someone my guess would be dley and Josh Palmer and we’ll just kind of have to see the rest of the not a great match up this week against the Chiefs although I mean as we’ve seen we saw with you know last week with jacobe Meers and Brock Bowers the Chiefs defense is not what it was I still think it can stop the run you know really really effectively but against the pass it just they had an injury there in the secondary it’s just not what it was and so you’re not really that scared of it maybe you know you get interested in single game DFS especially you know with Palmer there you know with Herbert things like that and so it’ll it’ll be interesting that is that’s certainly an injury that lad makoni want that could have aot a big effect as we head into here to the fantasy playoffs a couple more you know tesm Hill we already know the story on TES Hill I mean Tor ACL he’s done for the year right that’s where we are with Tamm Hill yeah uh he he got carded off the the field with a knee injury and and he’s he’s done for the season they already announced it’s a torn ACL so it’ll be interesting to see how that that offense adjusts because they they’ve made a real real point to to get him involved in the offense in a lot of different ways use his entire skill set um the last couple weeks I mean outside of Alan Kamar and really just just out of necessity because everyone else has gotten hurt and Mark has out of scandling it’s only good for one 60 yard catch a game you can’t Target him more than that um so he he’s kind of been a high volume guy um in the in the Saints offense the last few weeks so it’ll be interesting to see how they kind of adjust to to losing him and where those touches go like can they just put more on the plate of alvan Kamar or you who else kind of steps up they are getting uh kendre Miller and BB means back I believe both of them are going to be uh designated to return this week I believe that’s what I read today um from their their interim coach uh I I mean kendre Miller I like kendre Miller I liked kendre Miller he hasn’t been able to stay healthy although this last IR stint as we learned might not he might not have actually been that hurt um apparently you know the the now fired coach Dennis Allen of the Saints hated kendre Miller uh with a passion and so we saw some of those reports coming out so you know maybe Miller’s able to play this week and he can take on some work because you mentioned it like on Alvin Kamar they can’t put continue to put this much work on Alvin Kamar they can’t add what they’re doing to Alvin Kamar it’s just it’s not going to work um and then from a fantasy perspective I I mean I’m at a loss here with with what we’re doing here I mean mvs apparently he’s going to catch a touchdown every week so there you go continue to do that uh Nick West for K is apparently going to catch two touchdowns every week so that’s great uh so keep playing those guys I guess play Alvin Kamar but I mean that’s that’s basically it that’s where we are and it’s kind of annoying they have a great match up this week against the Giants I I believe their schedule the rest of the way isn’t particularly ominous and so you would like if we had some reliable fantasy guys outside of Kamar to use here and it’s just I I don’t know I don’t know what it is I don’t know if it’s there um my guy Kevin Austin continues to you know get a few catches will that continue if means gets back I don’t know it’s just a really it’s just a really odd situation and then one more injury here we had Rashad baitman leave early with a knee injury He’s on by so we’ll have to see kind of what what happens with him did we get any news after the game on kind of what this injury might be no they just said it it’s soreness they said it isn’t something serious he’s going to be getting treatment this week I think the bigger kind of story um in boltimore is why isn’t Deontay Johnson playing John Harbaugh has been kind of cryptic about that he was asked about it after the game and said I’m going to have to wait before I’m allowed to to comment on that situation so it’s kind of interesting for a guy that they they traded for mid-season is pretty much I think he has one catch for for six yards he only played in in four games he didn’t play on Sunday against the Eagles um clearly something has happened whether you know on the practice field off the field away from the team whatever it is that he pretty much is you know be only being mentioned in in hush tones around the Ravens practice facility right now yeah and they said I mean this is a game baitman left early and he did not play a single snap he did not run a single route and so it is Ty wall is weird that was a game for you the Tylen Wallace show we saw that was it a th the Thursday game a few weeks ago right where he where he went where he went wild um I want to add more to that harball quote because the rest of that harball quote’s very fascinating he said quote there are moving Parts we’re going to have to figure out and explore that sounds like a guy’s about to be waved that’s what that sounds like uh to me um so I don’t know what happening with Deontay Johnson uh it’s I have now cut him from a very very deep League uh where I was I was hopeful that we were going to get him here with the Ravens and we were going to get you know at least something out of him and it just hasn’t happened on you know baitman like I said they’re on they’re on buy this week so you’re not immediately going out and picking up Isaiah likely and he might be back after the buy so like it is what it is but I do want to make this note about Isaiah likeley Isaiah likeley has run 47 routes this season without baitman on the field uh that’s 66.2 he’s been in route on 66.2% of Baltimore’s dropbacks in those situations when Batman’s off the field he’s been targeted on nearly 30% of his routes there he’s averaging 8.8 yards per Target 2.62 yards per route run those are Elite numbers especially for a tight end we saw him catch that touchdown late I mean that doesn’t really count it was in garbage time but if baitman misses time we might not be looking to other receivers here we might be looking to Isaiah likeley and maybe we get more of likeley and Andrews on the field together I believe Charlie kler just went on to injured reserve if I’m remembering my update on Saturday uh correctly and so um so yeah so maybe there’s an opportunities there if if baitman does end up missing some time but like you said we don’t even know if he’ll be absent after the break a couple other people couple more you know ads to talk about actually just one more I’ve mentioned this guy now I feel like I’ve mentioned him three weeks in a row on this podcast so I I we were we were early investors on sincere McCormack who’s available in basically every League 99.9% of ESPN leagues this past week he had two more touches than Amir Abdullah 12 carries 5.3 yards per carry all if you look at the Raiders this year and you look at all their running backs all running backs not names sincere McCormack have averaged 3.3 yards per carry this season McCormack has averaged 5.7 yards per carry he’s very clearly their best option as a runner I don’t know what will happen when Alexander Madison is back I don’t know what will happen when zamir white is back it seemed like Madison was really close to playing uh this past week right and so I’m not sure what will happen however what I do know is a McCormack is a young running back who appears to be the best option they have for early down work this team isn’t going anywhere it makes a lot of sense for them to play McCormick I am stashing McCormick pretty much everywhere I can and we’ll see what happens we’ve said all year this Raiders P this Raiders rushing attack doesn’t work well it hasn’t worked with Alexander Madison and zamir white it kind of has worked on a very limited sample to be fair but in not great matchups here for sincere McCormack and so I am I am suddenly very interested in him I’ve been mentioning him as like all right if you’re in deep leagues you need some you know need some possible touches there you are I’m suddenly much more interested in him in him than that and if you’re just kind of stashing people for the playoffs especially uh you know I would like to see what happens and this is the time of year especially if you’re already in the playoffs you need to be looking at Playoff schedules the Raiders playoff schedule they get the Falcons the Jaguars and the Saints those a really good um kind of potential schedule for running backs so I am allowing myself to get excited about sincere McCormack that is where we McCormack excuse me that is where we are here in week 14 of the NFL season what a what a time to be alive yeah I mean it hasn’t been the the most thrilling of Seasons but you’re right I mean the Raiders are a team and really an offense that’s that’s desperate for any kind of positive story any kind of improvement and they’ve had some guys who who flashed but I mean the way the season has gone the way everything has kind of you know just trended downward from the beginning yeah I mean giving this kid the ball more often trying to make him more of a focal point of this rushing attack that you know hasn’t worked but you kind of look at what Alexander Madison and Samir white have done in their career and you know they they really haven’t you know had a lot of success wherever they’ve been mad with um the Vikings and obviously zamir white you know earlier in his time when he was backing up Josh Jacobs so yeah McCormick can give them more touches I mean this is a situation now where I think they they would kind of be eager to to give him the ball and kind of ride him a little bit if he’s having more success than than the rest of the guys in the back field I looked at the other kind of schedules that you might be interested in um for like easy schedules for running games in the fantasy playoffs a lot of them are guys that are just you know already rostered the Cardinals I mean James Connor’s obviously uh on a bunch of rosters the Falcons Von Robinson there a lot of kind of teams like that although I will say I mean the Cardinals Trey Benson is still out there Trey Benson is one of those High upside handcuffs that you can you know try to try to see you know Tyler alir is not in enough not available on enough leagues for my column but you know he’s somebody you could Target the passing games though are are interesting so the Titans get the Bengals the Colts and the Jaguars which is great um we haven’t seen you know will Levis hasn’t been a great fantasy option’ been putting up kind of respectable scores he’s going to have an opportunity again this week uh to put up a decent number because he gets the Jaguars as well this week so he’s gets the Jaguars to of the next of the next four weeks uh obviously we know that Nick West forina just catches touchdown passes Calvin Ridley gets targets so that’s kind of interesting uh if you’re looking that way the Panthers have the Cowboys the Cardinals and the bucks um that’s you know we’ll see what the Cowboys defense can do now that they’re getting a little bit healthier but yeah Cardinals and Bucks you’re interested in in that we saw what Bryce young did with the Bucks just this past week and so you know maybe Bryce young can be somebody especially in two quarterback leagues uh maybe Xavier Legette or Adam thielen or they’re probably getting back to Taven Sanders this week so maybe not Tommy Trimble but so you know there are some there are some options there and then the Broncos we’re we’re recording this before the Monday night game we don’t know what the Broncos situation is obviously B Knicks has been somebody that’s been just a fantasy starter he’s on a lot of rosters but I am interested if we get some clarity in that that kind of wide receiver room um beyond beyond courland Sutton that could be very interesting down the stretch you know maybe if it’s Devon V maybe if it’s you know Marvin Mims who’s been getting more touches like whatever it is Josh Reynolds isn’t gonna play on Monday night so we don’t know and obviously then they go on by in week 14 so we’ll have to see what happens with you know Josh Reynolds but Devon V for sure is somebody I’m watching on Monday night and if we get a little bit more clarity on kind of the target situation there with the schedule they have left with the Colts uh the Chargers and the Bengal you know that that might be somebody to to really think about and pay attention to even with them going on by in week 14 you know especially if you’re already you know locked into locked into a playoff spot so just so just some you know some interesting interesting things there we do have some breaking news now that I’ve done talking about this thank you in the chat from both Tucker and producer Matt in the chat breaking news uh 49ers uh head coach Kyle Shanahan says running back Christian mcaffrey will go on injured reserve and will be out at least six weeks and then you said what Tucker uh Jordan Mason has a high ankle sprin has been placed on the IR as well wow um so the first 10 minutes of this podcast just erase it and we’ll start over Isaac Reno where is gonna win you Le where where did the high ankle spray come from I I surprising to me too Adam Chef really bearing the lead in this tweet I watch them I mean like he obviously had that he left early because of the like concussion evaluation right um he still finished with 13 carries and 78 yards okay yeah delete everything that we said early in the in the podcast have fun uh have fun with this mat yeah I mean this this dramatically changes everything with uh with this you know waiver wire situation I mean obviously now we’re in on cindo and gindo’s out there in pretty much every League I my thoughts on gindo are touch in the fourth quarter my thoughts on gindo are the same that they are on Jordan Mason uh you’re you know you’re blowing everything on him I don’t have the numbers in front of me they have since I believe released Patrick Taylor but I think he made it back to their practice squad again I’m doing all of this off the top of my head uh but gindo um in those in those games that that Jordan Mason left early I believe grindo had a a pretty good um you know share of the carries there um I going have to look that up that’ll be in my column I’ll have all those numbers for you I did not expect this Mason thing I I missed that completely that’s on me but yeah this is that’s a shocking kind of real- time uh real time development here for the podcast but all right everything I said about Jordan Mason I guess go would spend everything on Isaac gendo because that’s kind of that’s kind of where we are schedule’s still good we know how fast he is we know how explosive he can be we saw lot of times we saw him get the touchdown uh last night on Sunday night so there you go wow that that that was a shocking one I thought you might have been joking in the chat when you said that Jordan Mason was also t for the year like I had to go confirm that we didn’t just get fake shefer that we got we got the real shefer wow no just a double down you just tweeted with two running backs now placed on IR the running 49ers new top back is rookie Isaac arenda so just to confirm that’s where we are there we are do you want to V for a second I can look up that week I can look up that week uh that week eight game because that week game eight game was interesting it’s one that one that uh Mason left early um and we could see kind of what gindo’s share was there I believe it was also Patrick Taylor involved if I’m remembering correctly all the way all the way back patri Taylor is back on um the 49ers 49ers practice squad so he he is option I guess to get elevated to the active roster on on game day uh yeah so so there we go um yeah so gindo ended up with 14 carries in in that game um Patrick Taylor ended up with only two only played Four snaps I remembered him playing more than that but again that’s off the top of my head gindo had 6.1 yards for carry but I believe he had a long run in that game if I’m remembering uh correctly that uh that kind of contributed to that but there you go there is the uh the gro and then we have producer Matt making jokes in the chat uh let’s go Leonard foret playoff Lenny bring back bring back Lenny yeah playoff Lenny for a non-playoff team I’m Fantasy Playoff Lenny I’m sorry 49ers I am also sad uh
