yeah I mean I think from a psyche standpoint it was certainly really good for us especially considering the circumstances uh you know we didn’t have po caul or Steven in practice for two days prior so uh and then to you know then to find out caulk wasn’t going to be able to play uh the morning of the game uh you know we had some other guys that had to step up and they really did that uh they’re really good you know obviously they’re you know their transition game is Elite uh you know defensively they’re very disruptive um you know and Hunter Dickinson and KJ inside you know is a it’s a handful uh the physicality and the size and you know and Coach self’s one of the best in the business so uh it’s going to take our aame and then some you know it there’s been constant Improvement and that’s that’s what I like to see uh you know wouldn’t have guessed in June that he was going to be ready and be at the stage that he W is today and I’m not sure when practice started the first couple weeks um if I thought he was ready for anything more than a minor rotational role but he just continues to improve continues to get better uh still a freshman so he’s going to make some mistakes but you know the the 13 or 14 rebounds against a physical San Diego State team was a a step in the right direction for him and and then you know the Texas S&M game you know starting the game 0 for six and then hitting three threes in the last 5 minutes when we really needed him I think speaks to you know that he plays without any fear and you know that’s been uh it’s been fun to be around Heth we don’t have enough time so no I don’t I’ll we we’ll see who we have at practice and then we’ll go from there no I’m not sure there’s a lot of benefit to it uh you know you get exposed in some ways uh the problem with those you know those three- team events uh when you’re gone that long is it’s very difficult to fix things in the middle of that because you you don’t have time where you can really take a step back have a couple days of practice try to uh iron some things out you’re you’re you’re in Vegas you’re stuck there and then in our case we had you know three starters out for the two days of practice we did have there um so it’s really hard to fix things that have gone wrong and uh you know and you know let’s be honest we we shot the ball a little better against the second half in the second half against Dan M gave us a chance to win the game we shot the ball better against Notre Dame and we won the game you know we’re going to have to make some shots uh for this group to be successful and I I still am very confident that we have the the roster to be able to do that evate when you evaluate the type of thre you got that like from the missing a bu the were very very similar I mean I would argue that the best looks we got were against Nebraska um you know even better than what we got against San Diego State at A&M um but you know there’s you know we get a lot of different things you know we want you know we’re very confident in Steven’s ability off the dribble uh he’s worked really hard on those shots um and you know Isaac and and Jackson Mason have all gotten really good looks um and it’s getting better it’s just not to where it needs to be yet is obviously I just probably his versatility you know he’s he’s he’s he’s an elite passer number one so you know if you if you try to go with too much help he really picks you apart um but you know he can he can he can pick and roll he can he can you can they can post him up on an isolation there they use him in the short roll a lot in the middle of the floor and he’s able to you know really pick people apart with the pass and he’s he’s capable enough a three-point shooter that you have to respect it and on top of that he’s you know what 7 foot 71 260 some pounds so he he’s big and he’s physical and uh you know you know hopefully C’s healthy and ready to go and and uh it’ll be a fun match up for people to watch those moments where you know was either in foul trouble or needed to breather did you out of yeah I mean obviously our Rim protection takes a hit um you know we become really small defensively but um you know offensively we went to Jason a couple times you get a big basket uh on an out of- bounds play that we designed uh that at a critical time when Notre Dame was really making a run so uh you know we’re comfortable with Jason and Isaac in those situations if we need to do it but was also you know very encouraged by Fred’s play uh on both ends of the floor he did some really good things uh we just got to as I’ve said before he’s got to limit some of those fight yeah I’m sure the crowd’s going to be incredible uh you know I’m I’m sure some Kansas fans will find their way in there somehow they seem to always do that regardless of where you go uh but you know it’ll be a great night for college basketball obviously Kansas has played at a really high level and uh you know we’re a little banged up and trying to get everybody back healthy and ready to go and and hopefully we have a full roster for Wednesday of I haven’t thought about Christmas come on it’s to talk to me at about 7 o’ on Christmas Eve that’s when I get
