NBA Insider Jake fiser suggests that Patrick Williams might be on the training block we’re also going to be talking about the Bold prediction from Lonzo ball for the Chicago Bulls this season this is your host Rico greenhow and you have found yourself on another episode of bulls digest so today we are going to be talking about Lonzo ball and his recent statement about the Chicago Bulls as he has a bold prediction for this season and also too a wild trade scenario from NBA Insider Jake fiser about Patrick Williamson so let’s go ahead and jump into this recent news around Lonzo ball and so Lonzo ball makes a bold Chicago Bulls statement and so he was on his podcast what an experience and he is thinking that the Chicago Bulls are going to be a playoff team and not just a playoff team but he believes that this team has enough to go out there and win at least 40 games and so in this uh statement he also is talking about the Troubles of the Chicago Bulls this season he talks about rebounding being a big issue for the Chicago Bulls and he also said turnovers he felt like anytime a team goes out there and turns the basketball over 20 times or more then that is going to be an issue but the one thing that Lonzo ball did not talk about and one thing that I think is really the biggest issue with this team and that is defense and so I love that Lonzo ball is coming out and he has this much belief in the Chicago Bulls this is exactly what you would want from any player on your team so I do love that about him and he is talking some truth especially when it comes down to the turnovers and things like that but I think the bottom line for the Chicago Bulls is that they have got to get better defensively I think that that is where it starts and I looked at something that Billy Donovan was talking about and I guess a reporter was asking him you know is the defense fixable you know Billy Donovan is saying in this statement just paraphrasing that he feels like defense is a talent and he feels like with this particular team they’re going to have to get it done collectively and he refers to individual defense in this statement as well saying that players have got to make uh the offensive player make multiple moves when they are trying to get to the basket or get into a scoring position here and so just talking about the individual toughness that’s going to be needed out there and collectively how they are going to have to come together defensively and so look I think that that’s the bottom line for this team this team can go out there and it can score the basketball I think that the pace and play it’s certainly working and I also think that they are believing a bit more in this three-point philosophy so they’re taking that and they’re running with it and that’s something that Lonzo ball said that yes we’re out there we’re trying to execute that game plan and they are they can run with anybody it is now can they get enough stops out there and I just don’t think right now as constructed this team doesn’t have enough to go out there and be a defensive stopper like it needs to be to be an elite team to be seriously taken in the Eastern Conference or even be a contender for an NBA championship I mean look Chicago we are not going to see Joe Kim Noah coming through that door anytime soon there’s not going to be Kirk heimrich there is no Jimmy Butler in his prime coming through that door like we just don’t have those type of Defenders but I do think as dalon Terry Julian Phillips Modis buellis as these players continue to grow and this franchise eventually picks a direction and starts to bring in these players that can not only score the basketball but also to have a defensive uh mindset as well then this team is going to shift I think drastically in the right direction but I just don’t think that we’re there and so you know I love what Lonzo is saying but I think the real critical thing that needs to be fixed for the Chicago Bulls is going to be defense and so that leads me to the next point in this video and that is talking about really I think a wild trade scenario that has Patrick Williams possibly being shipped off to uh well the Golden State Warriors and so Jake fiser is an NBA Insider that he used to work for Yahoo sports but now he’s with Bleacher Report and I got a chance to to look at the clip in which he’s talking about this in his podcast it’s about a six-minute clip and he’s talking about the things that are going on with the Golden State Warriors right now because they have a player that is injured and now they’re trying to figure out who could step in and he’s thinking that the Golden State Warriors might take a chance with Patrick Williams he feels like maybe they would want to take a chance with some untapped potential in Patrick Williams and maybe they would be able to utilize this defense a deal would probably consist of maybe sending Jonathan kaminga Moses Moody over and some draft uh assets back to the Chicago Bulls to make this deal happen remember um you know going into this that the Golden State Warriors are at that apron so they can only you know receive and send out uh as much as like it’s like they it has the match up as best as possible for this to work and so I think that that’s why I’m not NE necessarily buying this deal and I think that it comes down to just the fact that number one Patrick Williams has been an injured player and I don’t see the Golden State Warriors investing in that especially now coming into this where he has the same foot that he got surgery on last season um he’s now dealing with some inflammation and so I’m not sure that the Golden State Warriors would want to take a chance on that next I don’t know that Patrick Williams is going to get unlocked over in Golden State because golden state is prioritizing winning right now remember when they got James wisman over there and that didn’t work out they didn’t necessarily invest into his development and I think that Steve Kerr I think that this front office is not necessarily going to continue to invest into Patrick Williams they’re going to want a player that is ready to go right now as that Championship window is maybe closing for Golden State who knows because you don’t know how much longer you’re going to get from Steph Curry Draymond Green uh these players that have been a part of their Championship core you don’t know how long that’s going to last so I wouldn’t see them making a deal like this then that leads me to really the last point and that leads into what Draymond Green was talking about over the summer where he urged the front office not to make a decision or trade for a player that is going to set this franchise back and so you can imagine that if Patrick Williams gets to Golden State and it it doesn’t work out he’s injured or he doesn’t reach that potential it would be something that would set the franchise back especially if you’re going to give up on Jonathan kaminga for the Chicago Bulls look I would love to have Jonathan kaminga but I don’t think that that’s real that they would give up Jonathan kaminga uh I think that Moses Moody is a player I’d love to have as well I don’t see realistically Golden State giving up that and then when you look at uh just the front office of the Chicago I don’t see a scenario in which we would be able to necessarily get golden state to give us back some draft assets and when I say that I don’t believe in this front office because if you went to the negotiation table with OKC who has an abundance of picks and you were not able to secure picks from them I don’t think that you’re going to be going into this negotiation thinking that you need picks from the Golden State Warriors this front office strikes me as a front office that they’re simply looking for the right now which is part of the bigger problem with the Chicago Bulls like it’s great that you would get a player like Jonathan kaminga and Moses Moody that would help you maybe for this year or two but what about for the longevity of the franchise that is where draft Capital would be absolutely important and I don’t see that the Chicago Bulls would be able to do this and you know if the people out there are looking at Jake fiser and they’re saying I don’t believe it I think that you take this with a grain of salt the one thing that I found interesting towards the end of his video was he says that look they are open-minded meaning the Chicago Bulls are open-minded to moving a player such as Patrick Williams that’s exactly what he said in his video uh I guess to his sources or or what not they’re open to moving Patrick Williams which is interesting because this is a team that just went out there and paid the 5 years 90 million for Patrick Williams and so I I wonder if AK is now thinking to himself that maybe Patrick Williams is not going to be uh part of the long-term future for this team and he is looking for a possible trade I did find that interesting when Joe Cali reported that Kobe white and IO dumu were also on the trading block and so that would be interesting to see now that Patrick Williams is on the trading block so let me know in the comments what you think about this recent news around the Chicago Bulls do you believe in Lonzo Ball’s statement that yes the Chicago Bulls will win 40 plus games uh or you know do you believe no I think that this team is going to be closer to that prediction of maybe 25 30 games or whatever it was here going into the season and lastly what do you think about this news with Patrick Williams like do you feel like Golden State would be the answer or they’re looking to get Patrick Williams or do you feel like Patrick Williams is going to move be moved at all I’d love to know what the comments are uh so make sure you leave those down below I just want to thank everybody out there for liking subscribing and sharing to the content it means a lot to us here at Bulls digest as we try to reach our goal of 5,000 subscribers before the end of the NBA season out there I just want to let you know that 73.5% of you that watch are not subscribed so make sure you do like monis billis did last night and slam dunk on that subscribe button for me means a lot as we try to reach that goal and look even though we are talking about some wild trade scenarios that I I don’t think are going to happen I don’t think Patrick Williams is going anywhere where and also to Lonzo ball in this bold prediction of 40 games where I’m saying ah I don’t know man I’ve got some U some slow optimism on that but I still love it and I’m still saying go bulls and uh I’ll see you in the next one peace
