everyone tuning into to the show a little bit later than normal because I just got done with four hours of radio on ESPN New York talking about our disastrous football team so let’s spend some more time right now on YouTube doing the exact same thing first things first hit the like button and subscribe to the channel it’s only the die hards who are still tuned in at this point and I really appreciate each and every one of you Jets lose in overtime 3226 and you’re not surprised I’m not surprised any Jet fan is not surprised here’s the thing the Jets are the Vince Lombardi Packers at losing at finding ways to lose when this game was tied 2323 they weren’t going to win when the Jets took the lead late 2623 they weren’t going to win because this is what they do they find ways to lose and I I don’t think there’s a better example of this than how they lost today Devonte Adams not understanding the situation not knowing to stay in bounds with a minute and two seconds to go they could have bled the clock now maybe they still lose anyway Miami has just enough time to get in field goal range and they force overtime and lose and the same thing happens but that’s just a bad team finding a way to lose and Devonte should know better but is he being coached to do the right thing Jeff alook afterwards says he is but I’m not buying it and if they are coaching him to do the right thing the message is not being well received how about the Jets not kicking the ball out of the end zone that allowed the big kickoff return of 50 yards in the first place are they being coached to do that they they they they claimed that they said hey Carlson kick it out of the end zone and he didn’t do it I I mean this is just a bad football team that’s the bottom line the Jets are a bad football team that’s why they’re three and 10 and that is why for now the 14 straight season officially they’re missing the Playoffs it’s the fifth loss this season the Jets have had after they held a lead in the fourth quarter it’s their most in a single season ever this is a football team that is so poorly coached it’s insulting to even say that there’s High School level coaching on this team this is like pop warner coaching Middle School football coaching that might even be generous this team is so bad it’s so frustrating but they’re not bad because of a talent issue they’re bad because of a coaching issue and once again all you need to know are some of these numbers that I will present right now for you nine of the Jets 13 games this year have been one possession results the two and seven in those games this franchise has not won a game on a Sunday since week two that was the Titans game they’re 0 and seven in games decided by six or less they’re a bad team the offense for the most part played well today this is not the show to bash Aaron roders and say he’s the worst thing to ever happen to the Jets and make him the blame of everything that’s not what happened today he played well he threw for over 300 yards they moved the ball offensively he played well enough to certainly win this game and they still lost and this is another one of those games today the Colt game the second Patriot game where if this defense was anywhere close to what they’ve been they win all these games if this coaching staff was not the worst I’ve ever seen the Jets have they win all those games if Joe Douglas got off his fat ass and got a real kicker like this guy Carlson they would have a couple more wins right now instead of letting Greg zerline SN the entire season before it was too late I mean this has been the worst year of jet football ever and it’s not because they’re bad because they don’t have good players they do have good players G Wilson’s a hell of a football player Olu fashion who is a hell of a football player Joe tippman is a hell of a football player bre Hall is a hell of a football player I can keep going but you get the point there’s Talent here man but there there’s so poorly coached no one’s surprised they lost toight how could you be you knew when Miami won the coin toss that was it the jet defense hasn’t been able to get a big stop all year any sign of adversity they crumble any opportunity they’ve had to win the game close out the game like they’ve done in the past they can’t do it because this team is as poorly coached as any jet team I’ve ever seen and let’s also remember why Devonte Adams was in the situation he was in where he made the boneheaded decision to go out of bounds the Jets got to the dolphin 27 yard line and then proceeded to lose five yards on a run and six yards on a sack which set up the third and 21 why aren’t they running the ball why’ it take till today to run the ball in the red zone that was a nice run by Isaiah Davis would be nice to see that more often but if you’re watching this game today and you’re making this about Aaron Rodgers find a different show man too often we blame the quarterback for everything that was not the case today you’re blaming Rogers I don’t know what to tell you the coaching on this team is so bad man like the entire I just said this on the radio 10 minutes ago the entire building needs to be fumigated every coach has got to go they have too much losing on them they they need to fumigate the entire building you could not tell me with proper coaching this team is not at least at the bare minimum seven and six right now bare minimum I mean there’s been two games this year the Jets have been blown out week one and the Arizona game every other game they’ve had a chance to win including Pittsburgh where the final score is deceiving they leted at halftime in that game fifth loss this year having a lead in the fourth and they lose it there has never been more of an emphasis on this franchise needing to get the coaching higher right than where they are right now they have lost games this year in ways that you couldn’t even fathom losing some weeks it’s been the offense some weeks it’s been the defense some weeks it’s been the special teams ultimately they keep losing because they are a horribly horribly coached football team that’s where it all starts they were poorly coached with Robert Salah they don’t have a coach with Jeff Al he has done such a bad job that I would I I thought hey he’ll probably get a DC job somewhere no he’s not give Robert Salo all the credit for the defense what has Jeff o done now Jeff o will be a linebacker coach somewhere they they all got to go it it just it is infuriating and I’m not going to sit here and and scream and yell like I normally would if this game mattered but it’s still just annoying I’m not rooting for the Jets to lose I would have liked to have basically ended Miami season and they’re not any good anyway if your takeaway from this game is Miami figured something out did you watch the same game I mean you talk about the Jets once again just handing another game away it was this one it was last week against Seattle it was the cult game the second Patriot game I mean even the bill game they had that game one with better kicking and if Tyron Smith doesn’t commit a damn holding penalty that wiped away a game leading touchdown in the fourth quarter all these games man just the stupid mistakes the drops the penal every week they do something and you just if you don’t laugh you’ll cry it is unreal how poorly coached this football team actually is and there has never been more of a need for this owner to get it right with these hires than there is right now you can’t tell me if Mike brael is the jet coach this year they don’t have three or four more wins you can’t I’m not buying it and I don’t care who the quarterback is next year whether Rogers is here or it’s hrod or it’s jamus Winston and a rookie behind whatever there’s going to be Talent on next year’s team and the quarterback is not the problem in a game like today has he been the problem in some other game sure but it’s never just on one guy in most scenarios last year I think is the exception if anyone who watched Zack Wilson and Tim Bole try to play the position but last year team was better coached they were and they were better on defense and better on special teams and I’ll continue to say it if you put this version of Aaron Rogers whatever whatever you think of him on last year’s team they win 10 or 11 games Rogers played well today it’s not enough for me to say you bring him back next year as the quarterback but at the start can I see another couple games of this Aon I think it is important that he plays well down the stretch I’m not going to allow one game to have me change my opinion that I think the Jets need to move on I don’t think it makes sense to keep him here not with his dead cap going from 49 million to 62 million if you keep them for an extra year but if he plays well these final four you could convince me that it makes sense to bring him back they don’t have a ton of other great options out there so I’m willing to listen but I need more games like today but what needs to change and what we all know and it’s just so frustrating we can’t just hit the Sim button like you Canon Madden and just get to the offseason is get a real Coach and a real coaching staff just the the loser mentality has just engulfed everyone at One jets Drive they just expect to lose that’s the only explanation you find ways to lose no team finds way to lose ways to lose better than the New York Jets Rogers played well today you saw Garrett and Devonte make plays Isaiah Davis he made some really nice plays as a receiver and a runner the o line held up for the most part in protection but the the defense and the situational awareness the game management by this coaching staff oh my God I mean the Dolphins are the most mediocre football team you’ll see and the Jets somehow blew this game you’re not surprised but it’s just wow they did it again they did it again it’s just it’s it’s unreal how badly coached this football team is and look I don’t know who the next head coach is going to be but if they don’t get it right this doesn’t change the only reason why this has changed across the league for some other well be gone franchises is because they got their hires correct Detroit being the best example but there’s plenty of other teams that have turned it around because they got the coaching higher right I’m not buying this curs stuff I’m not buy like you have to get the hires right and I mean you cannot get rid of this entire staff fast enough there’s some good positional coaches that are on this team but they all got to go they’ve been a part of the losing they all got to go brand Boyer you’ve survived too many regimes man you got to go too 50 yard kickoff return at the end there oh but they didn’t have herb Charles Jake please I mean it’s just a new way to lose every week every week they all got to go I I mean it is it is a building that needs to be completely him back it’s the salary cap ramifications it’s does a new coach in GM want to have Rogers for a year and then pivot after that Rogers it comes with a lot the way he’s covered the attention there might be a regime that comes in that just wants to start over however I will say this if they decide they want to bring Rogers back I’m okay with that because that would tell me he probably played well these last four games he played well today and they bring Rogers back with the plan of hey we’re gonna run a modern offense and Aaron’s on board great if he’s not on board he won’t be here and he came out last week or two weeks ago said he would definitely learn a new system it wouldn’t be you know the end all Beall like all hack it and and Downing got to be here or I’m not like I think roders knows he doesn’t have a ton of options so if they hire Mike Rael and Mike rael’s like I’ll bring Aaron back for a year and we’re gonna draft the quarterback that’s gonna sit you could sign me up for that I mean Rogers has played like a for the most part he’s played like a bridge quarterback this year he has does that mean you bring him back I’m not going to base it off just one game today he had been awful the last three weeks let’s not for get that you know he he had he hadn’t got over 200 passing yards in three strike games until today let’s see if he maybe turned the corner now that he’s healthy and could stack together several good games in a row and then I’m open to changing my mind I am I I I would prefer Aaron to be here in a perfect world they structured the contract for him to be here next year that’s why his capit is only 23 million it’s his dead cap that goes to 49 million if they cut him but if they keep him another year then it’s 60s something million the year after and if you spread it out over two years it’s still 40 million against the cap in 2027 why would I do that well you do that if Rogers plays really well down the stretch and then you can argue it we’re not playing like this or at least close to it because it’s kind of hard to throw for over 300 yards one touchdown um no picks even if he comes assembly even if he comes close to this 270 280 two touchdowns maybe once in a while a pick you have to start thinking that possibly we should keep him as our Bridge quarterback because I’ll say it again look at jamus Winston today did did you see what of the 13 games we have played over 20 Jake last year we only gave up 20 or more than 20 points eight times out of 17 the year before we did it only gave up over 20 six times is that tell you something or not is that I mean that’s disgusting would you agree well here’s a stat I saw on the Jets record when they score 20 plus points last year when they scored 20 points or more they were five- two this year under Salah they were two- 0 under Salah they were 17- seven when they scored 20 or more points since Salah has been fired the Jets when they’ve scored 20 points or more are one and five this defense has completely Fallen apart since Woody Johnson fired the head coach five games in there’s no other way to put this could be this is the worst this jet defense looks as bad as it did in 21 with Gaye it is pathetic they can’t cover they don’t tackle they’re small the whole defense weighs less than 240 pounds redit looks like he could play wide receiver the guy looks like he’s 200 pounds he gets destroyed off of the line and I’m gonna tell you something and I said this Eckles is our best secondary player period there’s no better secondary player than Eckles nobody has had an interception we have not turned the ball over I can’t even remember the last time we had a turnover when the last time we had a turnover when I mean they’ve had two interceptions all year and it’s by a guy who doesn’t start you get two interceptions I mean there’s games where other teams get three or four or five interceptions I mean we got guys running wide open on Miami wide open it looks like we’re playing prevent def defense in the biggest parts of the game we’re just letting guys go open like we’re preventing big plays and then I’m gonna tell you something then all right I’m not a defensive coordinator Jake but when we pressured Tua and sent the house what did he do he threw the ball quick and then we had a guy come from the back end and make the tackle and then we minimize the gains soon as we put that fourman pressure on which created no pressures whatsoever the entire game to it just picked us apart because you can’t cover wle you cannot cover uh Hill if he has three or four seconds he’s gonna run away from you it’s just a fact I don’t care who you cover with he is uncoverable for when he’s more than five seconds for him to run on the field I don’t care three guys are on him he’s that fast okay so let’s just start with the fact that the defense is complete garbage yes well here’s the thing though I think with the right coach the defense is back to being a very good defense next year they hire Mike Rabel tomorrow the defense is better it’s the scheme first of all the roster defensively is a huge drop off to where it’s been the last two years without jfm without you know Jermaine Johnson without uh you know Al Woods without uh uh uh H CJ Mosley getting hurt yeah I mean the talent is not good CJ let me tell you another thing CJ Mosley okay is a linebacker that when he when he hits the player the player stops running okay I love Sherwood he’s playing great Quincy’s playing great but when these guys rap somebody they get an extra two or three yards because he’s not St he’s not running guys over I watch linebacker play on other teams Jake and a linebacker hits a guy and he goes backwards and he gets you know sometimes he gets a turnover sometimes they punch the ball out Fred Warner every time he tackles somebody you know what he does he goes like this and he goes for the ball every single tackle and I don’t see any of our guys trying to you know punch the ball out or do anything creative let me ask you this Neil I want to hear your thoughts on Rogers you’re a Rogers guy he played a very good game today do we want to give Rogers a 94 rating and 4,000 yards terrible I think we’re going to do much better with another Bridge quarterback are you kidding me or what and not only that Jake the games that he’s not playing well he’s injured the guy’s coming wait let me just say this was was he injured last week but wait a minute Jake the uh if you’re listening to the quarterbacks St the announcers okay when you come back from an Achilles it takes two years to recover it’s not a one-year injury it’s a two-year injury all right that’s my fear okay because I don’t want to hear the [ __ ] about his age that’s look Russell Wilson’s playing great he’s 36 years old he’s taking 10,000 more hits than Aaron roders but there’s a difference Neil there’s a difference there’s a difference in 36 and Rogers at 41 next year no it’s depends on the player no I disagree Rogers moves around when he’s healthy just as good what do you think it is does he look like Joe flacka wait wait does he look like a 40-year-old Joe flacko back there who took round obviously he’s he’s better he’s better than flacko and there’s more mobile is my point when you’re 41 if you’re not moving like pton Manning couldn’t move and his ball wobbled out want to take it Aaron roders is not there yet now I’m not saying to you he’s gonna be great okay what I’m telling you is this with proper coaching and Leadership and having him manage the game not be the hero okay and getting our offensive line is one bright spot it’s getting better but it’s still not the Minnesota Viking offensive line it’s B offensive line excuse me because they don’t have a good o line coach that’s part of it too okay again we’re gonna clean up the coaches can we see what he looks like the next four though I I will but where what are are options Jake I don’t want to hear about the cap in n in 2026 we may speaking Russia in 2026 once they take Ukraine and going to [ __ ] Romania I don’t want to hear about 2026 C because if we get a rookie what is the $66 million c mean we’re gonna have a zeroc cost rookie quarterback aren’t we under control I I I just don’t think wait wait wait wait the $66 million in 2026 you’re Hing and ha about right you and Allan what does that mean at the quarterback position if it’s $66 million right what does it matter if we have a rookie quarterback under control it all matters Neil it all matters look at this year’s team look at the amount of dead cap they have this year right that’s part of the reason why you know John Franklin Meers is not here that’s part of it like like you could keep your best players no no no no John Franklin Myers we could have had John Franklin Meyers the only reason we didn’t keep him is because we were playing with our dicks when it came to reic otherwise we would have had John Franklin Meyers still on the team Jake and we could have had Clowny and we could have done something a little different Neil all this stuff matters and Rogers has not played well enough to justify his the future cap ramifications now today he did and if he puts together a couple more of these games let the next GM and Coach decide because they might evaluate the other quarterback options and say it’s not great think you think they C Rogers and they do nothing they just they they they don’t address anything at wide receiver that’s it they’re just just done with Rogers and that’s it everything else Remains the Same we’re forgetting the fact our offense is scoring points Jake do you realize what we’ve watched in the last they scored 14 points last week they scored 14 points we games we scored zero and three last year we didn’t if you’re comparing Neil Neil I am I am with you and I was the biggest Aaron Rogers Advocate like out of anyone in media in this town but if you’re comparing last year’s offense to this year’s that’s not what you should be comparing it to you know what the jet offense entered today Neil you know what they were statistically before the games today uh through we entering week 14 in total offense they were 31st they were 29th in running 23rd passing 26 in scoring we can’t just chalk it up to Oh Aaron Rogers has been hurt all year it’s not just that he’s also old and it’s not going to get better necessarily next year either but but here’s the point it is absolutely gonna be a train wreck if he’s not here Devon’s not here how do you know that here and they had and they had give [ __ ] if it’s Vince lardy if you have no offense if we’re going to go back to where we were they don’t have an offense this this year they don’t have an offense this year with Rogers if they get better coaching guess what they’ll have an offense that is capable if they’re ground in pound with brayan Allen Bree and Isaiah Davis in this o line and a quarterback who could get the ball out to Garrett Wilson and I don’t know the defense goes back to playing like the top 10 potential they have and they have a kicker you don’t need to score 30 points every week to be able to win they’ll be able to win games next year with better coaching it starts with that no matter who the quarterback is the Steelers every year do it they don’t have great quarterbacks they have great coaching let me conclude this and this is not without watching the last four games okay the reality is everybody is say I there is not going to be a coach trust me when I tell you that’s gonna come into this team if we play I if we don’t assuming we don’t get blown out the next four games play like [ __ ] and Aaron Rogers looks like he did not not as good as he looked this week and he starts to regress that it’s different conversation but I don’t want to hear about what the ramifications are if we keep him because that’s what a GM is considering that’s what they’re gonna be talking about I’m telling you a coach is not gonna want to come here and blow it up they’re not they’re not gonna blow it up say I don’t want Aaron roders let me go get this C this quarterback and I’ll win with that what what coach is gonna say that tell me every coach is saying belich saying Roger still has it a lot of guys are saying Rogers still has it so just because we say he doesn’t have it we’re supposed to believe a bunch of morons that come on of chat we’re no more than the quarterbacks that are in the league we know more than bill bellich says he still got it so what I’m not I’m not rushing to judgment okay I said four more games let’s see where we are and I’m telling you if he plays and ends the season with 27 TDS which will be number two and touchdowns for us a lot since 2014 okay since uh uh Fitzpatrick s that was an all-tim from Neal they didn’t even win today and Neil is all I knew I was setting him up when I asked him about Rogers oh my God Neil the team is three and 10 man he hasn’t played that well he played well today but we got to be fair let’s see let’s see how it plays have plays out here but like you got to get younger at the position and you’re saying what coach would would would come in and say they don’t want Rogers that’s not the question the coach is gonna come in and say do I want a 41 at the end of next year 42 year old quarterback do I want that they’re GNA remove Aaron roders from the equation and just watch the film that’s what it’s going to be based on and if Rael wants Rogers for a year okay I’ll defer to what the next regime wants I also don’t know if Rogers wants to be here next year too I know he says he does but who knows at the end of the day the team is still three and 10 they’d be three and 10 with Tyrod Taylor this year too deal now the difference is Tyrod has more of an injury history than even Rogers at his age but like that’s my point like Rogers has played about like a like a like a bridge quarterback would play I can’t justify bringing him back if that’s all he’s going to be I would need a new head coach to come in and say no he’s not just a bridge quarterback he’s still a top 15 quarterback in the league that’s what you’re evaluating it’s not can he be the bridge yes Rogers can be the bridge quarterback next year you’re not evaluating that though you you’re evaluating is it worth it if that’s your evaluation of Rogers just as a bridge and then his dead cap to move off of him now instead of being 49 million spread out over two years or take your lump sum in one year it’s now 60 something million and even if you were to spread out over two years it’s 40 million on your cap in 2027 for a guy who won’t be on the team I don’t think he’s here next year I don’t I think a game like today does increase the possibility but it’s one game he was awful last week and they lost they scored 14 points didn’t score in the second half can we not just use one game and jump off a cliff and say how could they move on what coach would want to move on any coach who watched the film last week would move on Neil any coach who watched the film today would say he could still play they’re they’re not going to base it off just a one game sample size it’s going to be based on a collection of this thing called a season that’s what it’s going to be based on at least you would think assuming the jetti prerequisites are there he’s not here it’s that easy um like I don’t I don’t know what to I don’t know what to say about some of these the like the problems that we have on this team we’re losing all these games by less than one score it’s penalties almost every game it’s mental mistakes it’s drops it’s it’s the stuff that can be corrected by decent coaching um by having a kicker that can make some kicks it’s by uh filling out some spots on on a roster if we have capable quarterback play I am open to Rogers coming back if it makes sense financially and it makes if he wants to be here and it’s something that we can work out where Tay’s here and you know we can build the team around them and it makes sense for next year any coach that comes in for next year first year is not going to be under a mandate to make the playoffs so they don’t have the pressure and it’s not like they’re going to say oh we have to have Aon Rogers I don’t care about the $63 million capit in year one no he’s going to do something that that’ll make sure that he can win in year two and year three there there’s also the aspect of if you bring Rogers back it’s still like his team it’s still like the the spotlight is still on him and it’s like after all the losing that’s gone on the last years and this year especially with him playing a new regime might want a clean slate like they want to build it their way they not that they think Aaron is a bad guy or a bad teammate he’s not it’s just they just want like to basically put a bow on the previous Jets tenure and the regime that brought Rogers in and that was the big move they made to try and fix it didn’t work and now move forward what they want to build he hasn’t played well enough where that’s not at least in the conversation that they’re having that’s how it often goes it might not go that way in this instance we’ll see it’s kind of a moot point until we hire the GM and the coach but you know it’s frustrating though because we can’t all game and I’d had sunglasses but you know that I was taking my sunglasses off to the to try to get a better better view of the plays and everything and my eye wasn’t wasn’t uh you know uh feeling uh you know from uh sensitive from the Sun or whatever you had that eye of the tiger out there David I had the eye of the tiger I was really focused and I uh you know I like when you know I was talking to the people before the game the the the the uh Dolphins fans like over at the hotel I said you know what I I explain you know I had everything set up higher expectations for the team so I I actually go in expecting them to lose by like 10 to 20 points uh so uh you know I I and I got over there and and and just you know kind of met people and talk to him a little bit and whatever but uh and the game started I’m like oh boy here we go and uh you know it it was a pleasant first half and I’m thinking well at least they have a good first half and you know maybe you know uh cuz usually what they do is fall apart in the second half they held it together but you know unfortunately as you know the they they always find a way to lose but uh I was uh still I really had a great time I was still pleasantly surprised there were a lot of jets fans in my section and in back of me there were husbands and wives Jet fans and and uh uh guys in their girlfriends and uh they were really cool so anyone recognize you from the show David I heard you you were a big hit anybody anybody over at uh in the hotel at the hotel or at the game yeah did any did anyone recognize you as a caller to the show uh no but I do have a I do have a tiny story for you uh uh today I was down at the bar uh getting uh waiting for food and and take some beer up to my room and uh you know a lot of jets fans and and uh uh a softspoken gentleman come over to me and he said uh you know about the game and everything and and I said are you from New York and he said no I live over in St Pete he said but my hus uh yeah my husband my my nephew plays for the Jets and uh you know he lost his father and and his his his one of his favorite uncles not too long ago so I had to show my face at the game so I said who who’s your son uh your nephew and uh he kind of looked at you know they give you that look like is he G to criticize when I tell you who the player is or whatever and he said Michael Clemens oh God yeah I know but I mean I he could have said it was the water boy and I still would have thought it was neat you know he didn’t you know I I mean he you know maybe yeah he just he just gave me that look and I’m like you know uh it’s it’s still neat you know no it’s very cool I just it’s unfortunate it’s Michael Clemens who is not having a great year yeah yes I understand and you know I wasn’t I wasn’t you know I just said well you you know you got to be proud of him and everything you know so that was that so that was a little tidbit but uh yeah nobody uh nobody recognized me from the show know this is really neat uh whoever they’re playing they have when I check in they so they had a Jets flag and of course they have the Dolphins flag and they said oh yeah we whatever team they’re playing we put the the flag up and then they got flags you know throughout and and uh they have a continental breakfast and there’s flags of every team and all that kind of stuff and it it’s just it was just really really neat I really I really enjoyed the whole experience you know can you hear me sir oh yeah yeah definitely hear you David I just was finish yeah uh and you know the the game itself and you know I knew you were coming on tonight you know so I I got back to the hotel room and just nuts it around and uh so I’ve been trying to call in and the internet was kind of goofing up that’s why why I I didn’t get in when you when you called on me the you know the first time but uh yeah and I see uh uh so much talent on a team and like you you know the coaching and details and you
