a 4-2 defeat to frish a very good team in the njl a really good debut though for that young man that is Nick Worthington the brother coming in and having a good performance in this first outing well you know you get a good quality player from him uh a good quality goenda um a good program in itself over at the skyline conference um and that was going to be that was going to pretty much be the key um you know uh outside the loss of of Sam jro but when you have a player that is that electric uh playing in a you know in a public school uh setting you know odds are you know it’s a not about it’s not about if it’s about when um you know you’re going to get a player like that going to um a prep school like he had uh so but with Worthington Dave it’s it’s a big it’s a big deal uh being able to get a guy who could stop shots um it’s just extremely important to have him come over um and give this Madison team an opportunity I like the youngsters that they’ve brought in too I like mcherry who I think is going to uh going to do well um and you know you have this other the rest of these guys that have um gotten a year older and a year um wiser together Lucas jro still here jonan Ericson is still here um I I think you got a good mixture of guys um that have you know new players good talent and Veteran leadership uh Madison should not be slept on in this Halverson and um they’re going to have a great measuring stick I think tonight against Tom Lev’s Park team and for this park team making their debut on the season Charlie and they bring a ton back almost all of their core returns for this season they’re without Matt mcder for the start of the year with a lower body injury so he’ll miss some time but he still bring back a ton of weapons on terms on offense here yeah especially offensively a lot of weapons Michael Kazi 23 goals 21 assists last season and he can’t mention Park without mentioning Chase ozuki who had 27 goals 15 assists last season they were 11 and 11 and now they have that experience and another position they have experienced is net minder we’ve seen a lot of new goalies in the mcss IHL so far this season not the case for Park they bring back both Dylan Marion and Anthony pello Maran hoping for a little bit of a jump this season in 859 safe percentage last year they’ll expect maybe a little bit out of him in his senior season it’s going to be fun to see just how much park has developed from last year to this year they also bring back some other key secondary scoring of course Colum LLY with his 25 points from last year Frankie scco had a great freshman season getting eight points on the blue line you have guys like Gio Bruno Nick Monaco and you have four net miners on your roster so just in case something happens Beyond Marian P you have Kira Schwarz Who’s Back who had saw a limit of time last year and the Freshman Milan Gelman may see some time but more than likely will be on the JV for this year and and that and I think having JV is actually really important for Schwartz because you got two senior golender up here M um again if anything happens she’ll be she’ll be on the call whether it is to back up or or ultimately get in there um but having JV is going to help both her and Gilman they’re going to probably be the two goenda this season um so it’s important to get that kind of ice time in a in a uh in a at a competitive competitive level and um you know just to picky back off of what Charlie was talking about with Marion uh he’s had moments where he’s great it’s just about consistency and and I feel like you know he’s gotten better and better with that um and I hope that the consistency is the key word u for number 30 um in the black and these look let me actually look at the look at these things this is love goalie points here at Big State Sports I don’t know if you can see it David but coach Levis is fired up on the bench he’s yelling to his boys jumping up and down he is amped up for this one I didn’t have to look cuz I knew that was the case already as we’re underway here that man in an early goal Chase alusi 12 seconds in one nothing [Music] Park well there’s good reason for Coach Lis to be fired up first shot of the game in their first goal of the season and it’s just a great job of fighting along the boards to get the puck and then the shot out in front oh what a redirection wow Chase Zusi is hot already should just be the one assist to Nick Monaco who took the initial shot and here comes park again as Madison looks to regroup now we can get to the starters for the Dodgers Lucas jro started with Patrick Lang Owen Chandler Jacob Thompson and Jonathan Erikson as that’s an offside whistle Park went with Mali Steinberg ukki Monaco and Acer to start things off but a fantastic early goal for Chase husi who had 27 last season and for him now that’s 54 on his career still just a junior one more year to go in this park colors this goes all the way down because of the off side Park wins it back big Collision in the corner especially got to say for a Sunday afternoon really nice student section from Park they’ve got a full student section over there in Section 8 a fantastic group of Madison Dodgers that looks like the youth program down below there’s a banner down there can’t quite read it from our angle but a great crowd here at men for the first of two tonight on big state Sports as Here Comes Park back into the Zone battle for good shoulder delivered there by Richie Musa in the physicality is picking up in the opening minutes here from both of these teams come the Dodgers you got to have it or else these guys are going to run run through you they’re uh if you already see it already well you tell you what this is the mix that you get remember park has been in the hos the last couple years and we know how physical that division was in previous Seasons you add to that the speed of Madison who’s been close to the men in division and well here’s the combo as that goes down for iing lot of new names out there for both of these squads and getting some immediate results Brian mcer getting his first career goal in his debut for Madison against frish his sister and also an excellent hockey player with the Madison girls program as that’s a big Collision there from olusi Guess Who with Erikson not like Ericson to shy away from contact that’s who I would want out there Lucas jro with a shot oh that went through the crease comes back to the point long shot gaining a glove on that was Mar and good shot by Jacob Thompson who was number five Joey fiser Junior this one goes across moving it back in was Dylan Aker the number eight kicked Along by Erikson and into the Zone long shot justos misses the corner first one over to it is m is the 15 of Owen Chandler gets it along to Erikson the big boded centerman goes to the corner battles there with Joey fiser and you’re right Sean Joey fer is talking about a big kit over there he look who got got a couple freshman you got a freshman out there too in Dylan in front oh save by worington still loose as it goes behind the net my bad yeah that’s fine oh it developed quickly this is a contact sport sorry Collision sport going to The Far Side yeah we got nard delis out there as a as a freshman that’s good signs there look at this here’s ooki he scores what a snipe over the shoulder Chase oi’s got two at the 1223 Mark of the first period Two Shots two goals for the Park regional well you remember what I talked about with sanjiro you know you got a player who’s playing at that who’s played that well at this level it’s a matter of not a matter of if it’s a matter of when um I I have to ask the question is when is it going to be this guy’s time because this guy is leag is in another Stratosphere as a lot of these guys in this league what a move I don’t think they even announced the first goal they and then they got to it but okay I I missed that but still I don’t have to change the card no you’re good there two goals already from ooki we’ll see if there’s any assists on it Steinberg gets the assist so ooki from Steinberg gets it to two nothing and right now Madison is the team Under Siege here Sean it’s impressive um there’s a lot of hype about about this park team and newer players coming through oh look it out big hit behind the net as one of the Dodgers went tumbling the visiting crowd wants a penalty they don’t get one and we talked we were able to watch some of the practice Shan for Park about a week or so ago it’s not surprising cuz we know who’s behind the bench but the intensity and the level of detail I’ve never seen the intensity be matched quite like this yeah no there was intensity levels but when we talked to Coach Levis in the preseason he said he was working on attention to detail really working on the power play and Charlie when you’re a coach and you’re focusing on those minute details you are really confident in where you are in terms of a hockey team yeah you’re really confident where your whole Squad is and and I think is a testament to the leadership that they brought back these sophomores and juniors who are back this year for Park and I’ll add this as well I’m sure they watched westm Central the past couple of days on big state Sports they saw exactly how they came out this season and they said okay this is going to be that type of season we got to come out and throw some punches as well this is well hopefully in a metaphorical metaphorical sense yes as that skips in in another easy save that time from worington we talked about Chase ooki too and what he’s been doing in terms of another Strater where he’s not just doing it already for Park he’s doing it with Club to he’s plays for the colonial 16 new AA he’s already got 12 goals in 11 games in Triple A so yeah Chase ozuki is taking to another here comes Madison though trying to take the score to a different level two on one the other way shot comes in Saved by Marion denies jro and a stoppage at 113 first shot on goal toward Marian’s cage yeah well Lucas Jiro is something someone you’re going to have to watch for Madison obviously Sam left after last season but Lucas was good last year for the Dodgers offensively he’s going to be that player to step up I’m sure Lucas jro a key contributor last year as a freshman the cousin of Sam [Applause] and a hand pass is called Lucas last year 11 goals 23 assists as just a freshman and as we’ve heard through the rumor mill there are more Jos to come at least one more that is on the way who will be in next year if he decides to continue at Madison but you’re right this this is a team that lost a lot in terms of leadership you lose a Kyle peknik as well uh out of that group a Riley Tomlin a Jordan axler but you bring back still a will Bagley a Chris PA AA these are some names that are going to have to contribute for Madison as a penalty’s coming up as paoa sent a player into the boards hard it’s an elbowing call on the first Power Play will belong to [Music] park this first per just has not gone the way the Madison wanted at least to start off he allowed two goals one only a couple of seconds into the game and now you’re facing this offense in a a power play situation that’s not ideal as they get ready to go and we want to let you know this around can see why they were very excited about this D oh yeah there’s going to there’s a lot of players from the sophomore freshman class out there already and they’ve got a great fan section over pretty well early on and Sean that’s mostly coming from them not giving Park time and space especially inside their own defensive Zone as oh a good Outlet pass but well defended there nicely done by Dylan nardis well yeah they knew there was too much of that going on and I think uh coach theala obviously delivered a message that was able to be answered at least for the for the time being by these he’s fresh year he had 26 goals and nine assists in his freshman season he then added more assists to his game last year 27 and 15 and he’s got three already here’s a chance from Musa coming in front by the centering passer with the slot but taken away an assist by 25 and steber Andrew Steinberg gets an assist the lone assist on the hattick goal for Uki he’s assisted on two of them ooki from Steinberg times two and then Uki from Monaco and again the power play goal we believe is Dylan AER will get fully confirmation in between the second and third and see if there’s any assists on that yeah I mean he’s not going to like that very much well Steinberg can’t believe there’s no penalty as Erikson came around behind the net it would it looked clean from our angle it looked like the arm was down there was no elbow but when you get hit that hard you’re going to like it anyway but sometimes we’ve seen referees who will give a penalty on that kind of hit just because of the result of the hit yeah sometimes it’ll fool the referee if you want to say it that way of thinking that there was something wrong but that’s just a clean hit great job by Madison laying down the hits and then creating a chance out in front after causing the turnover that’s exactly what I’m sure they want to do is use the physicality to their advantage three onone for Park the other way the pass across oh Charlie after the statements made by Westmore Central another one of the new teams in this new Halverson division park has stepped up and said hey we should be considered as favorites here as well yeah they definitely made a loud statement especially early on in this one and eventually they will keep this energy up for full games obviously the opening game you’re going to work out some of those those plays decide okay when do we need to go are are we going to do this but for them impressive 51 despite working some of those things out and not maybe having all the energy in the third period that they would want when you think about some of the other teams in this division that they’re going to have to play including West Mars but you think about mendum as well who was so strong defensively who knows how to skate well and cause Havoc you think about moha and their young core they just came out with a burst in this game and Madison still fighting for it what a shot by Musa a better save made by Dylan Marriot well we mentioned pregame Marion’s going to be a big piece for Park this season the consistency as Sean put it wanting to see this type of performance game in game third period after uh a slow first period so you expect them to continue getting better as the season goes on but what we’ve seen from Westmore Central and Park regional so far this season is going to
