said this was just an overall really good game for you guys what pleased you most whether it was offensively or defensively with this one tonight um you know we just stayed committed to what we were doing you know even though uh you know they got to a fast start in the third quarter um we kind of just stayed together and was able to comat their run with our own um you know DLo got hot ruy play phenomenal um you know we just was able to um kind of get back to the Laker basketball and was able to get the win you played so many games with LeBron but for this roster in the regular season to have to do it without him for the first time and and ruy mentioned you got the news kind of right before the game to adjust on the Fly and be successful with it what was kind of the challenge you guys were able to face I mean next man up I mean you know that’s why you know we have a team you know other guys had to step up R stepped up D stepped up um you know guys know how to step up when you know we have a guy like Braun out um the guys took on a challenge tonight and you know um know even though it was you know last last minute scratch um you know this what God prepared for and uh you know guys got a chance you know some guys got a chance to come in play a little bit more minutes than they probably normally wouldn’t and um you know they they did what they were supposed to do did their job so it was a team effort tonight can you look ahead now to to Friday and be like this could be a real reset for for our season uh to have these 4 days some some off some some prep time and and really try to get back to the team that you guys look like a couple weeks ago yeah I mean you know we’ been having a lot of games in a lot of days um but now we get guys to get you know four days to kind of recover um we know we got guys out guys kind of banged up so you get time to to recover time to practice you know and kind of like you say reset and get ready for uh Minnesota you know which we owe um back in Minnesota so um but we’re going to use these days to to get better obviously and uh but also be smart with you know letting our bodies kind of heal and uh line it up for Friday you guys are 24 games into this season now do you think this group knows the the best way for it to play offense or is it still trying to figure out what gold habits are going to work moving forward what new stuff we should integrate like I guess where you’re at in that process you think as a group no we know what we’re supposed to do offensively um we know where where we supposed to get to as far as our spots you know our running patterns uh offensive schemes um our plays uh we know all of that so um just about a matter of executing it you played about as much basketball as anybody in the world the last couple years including this summer could just four days between games how can that specifically benefit you getting some rest um you know banging up with a little bit of injuries and um things that’s bothering me so just kind of let that 4 days you know let my body heal um before we get ready to line up on Friday but uh I’ve never I think in my career had a stretch where we didn’t play for you know 4 days so uh it’s kind of new but um I know it’ll be beneficial for us to kind of get back in the gym um you know get some time away from each other but then you know uh you know getting ready to work you know so we can go up in Minnesota and get a win defensively you guys have been switching more especially the last couple weeks tonight outside of I think some possessions against uh Simons you were in a drop more often just how did it feel out there making thatjust I never drop tonight excuse me I wasn’t never going to drop tonight all right so you want refas your question or what’s up you want to rephrase your question I mean I wasn’t in a drop what coverage were you in cover I mean I think time if I’m in to drop and time is going to come off and Dot my eye off so I can’t be in the drop DeAndre Aiden was in a drop before he start blissing a pick and roll you you you had uh five block Shots tonight in the first half season High you kind of Define the defensive dominance of the team what kind of message you think that sends down to everybody on our team yeah um I mean they rely on me you know a lot defensively uh you know being up into the ball and it’s my job to protect the paint um so I just that’s what I tried to do tonight um obviously it’s contagious and you know you come get Cam D all these guys you know um start guarding um getting Steals and I think just helps our our team especially when we aren able to score we go through a stretch you know where we can’t score the basketball um we get rely on our defense so you know I just want to bring that intensity and that pressure and uh have the guys follow do you do you spend time energy trying to figure out why um at maybe the first 10 12 games of of the Season you guys um were clicking and offense was where it was at versus why there was a drop off do you do you even concern yourself with the why or do you sometimes uh we talk about it uh as a group but I mean we don’t have time to you know dwell on it you know we got to play another game so uh you know when we have time off we talk about it and try to look at you know how we played those games um ball movement body movement um screening like all those things what we were really good at in early on in the season and uh you know we just slippers there obviously guys in and out of line up and um you know our a lot of it comes from you know a drop in our defense uh just being so terrible at defense and now you know kind of affects your offense because you know everybody tried to do the right thing and you know make a play you know for themselves or others um but you know we just wasn’t organized you know in that stretch so um that’s why we dropped off but I mean the last two games tonight and you know uh against Atlanta uh we’re organized we running our sets um you know we’re screening well uh guys is you know getting shots that we had got in the first couple games uh in the season so um it’s not rocket science you know we just got to continue to play how we how we’ve been playing the last couple games and we’ll be all right how did that work being featured and how did maybe that help you get going yeah he probably we probably did like what we didn’t do this whole season we did in this game you know literally it was like back back to back to back to back you know but you know that’s the trust I got from this team you know especially Bron was out today we found out right before the game so they told me the coaches told me I have to step out tonight so um I was I was I was ready for you know and then yeah just as a team I think we were moving the ball well you know do do was do was great you know of course ad and especially the uh other guys you know Gabe Max cam was really good defensively you know that’s why we got this DB so that was great ruy uh you L the team at four Ste tonight te like overall um your defensive play has stepped up past couple weeks just how would you gauge your own play on that end of floor yeah I was just trying to be aggressive you know especially defensively we we struggling we’ve been struggling so but today I think uh um playing with the more with the gay you know cam in know Mass you know I think it made us easier to kind of you know be more agressive because that you know I can trust them you know they they always make a plays defensively so um yeah I think it was a was a great for you know defensively for us today hey ruy uh show Otani was here tonight did you get to say hi and catch up with him at all no no I didn’t I didn’t know he was going to come I found out right before the game but yeah he’s a you know he’s a very low-key guy you know he don’t he don’t want to be in the scene like that so yeah but you know I think it’s good that we we you know we both played in most highest level in sports leagues and we especially in La you know that’s like biggest um Market here so yeah it’s just like we support each other he support us support me um I support you know of course they won but I think uh they that that kind of motivate me too you know I I want to win the year and we have a lot of chance this year too so uh yeah that’s the that was a that was a great moment for sure hey Ry um want to ask you JJ talk to a lot about playing in the middle of the floor a lot of situations you you will hold a screen get a switch how did you like that you know that match up for you in terms of playing at the nail and then being able to ice them being able to work and not see a double team cuz you’re playing at the middle of the floor yeah that’s that’s my spot you know you guys know and since I was College you know that’s the literally that’s literally my spot I can’t I don’t I can’t say anything else you know literally you know I’ve been working on that’s my that’s why I got drafted you know basically so you know um yeah nothing I can you know uh CA it’s just uh I like to play that you know elbows and you know it’s easier for me to you know there’s a lot of options you know I can drive I can just shoot over you know and somebody comes I can pass to right away so yeah it’s good R I’m sorry if you’ve been asked this but you said I think something to Mike after the game about getting back to the way that you guys have played in the past um offensively H how tough has it been to try to in to put a new system in around a group of players that has played together a very different way and and I guess where do you think this team is in in terms of getting comfortable with the best way to maybe play
