players in three days to try to cope with with um with everything but we have two ways or we forget about the new idea and I think that’s why I was here I was brought here in the middle of the season and we try to cope with with the things that that I used to do it and we next year in the same stage we’ll be here with the same problems or we start now we risk a little bit we suffer a little bit and in the next year we will be better in at this point so we have to risk it a little bit we are going to suffer for a long period and we will try to win games this will take time but I know we have to win games we certainly could have won it so you could look at it that way it depends on your your perspective I think I think we were certainly the the better team in the first half overall and I thought as the first half went on we really grew in ascendency and and went into halftime in in real dominance but the second half uh um man had some good periods of control as well so Mark United playing for the first time under emim were there any noticeable differences in the way they set up yeah lots of interesting tweaks and changes obviously only a matter of days into the new era Old Trafford so you’d expect it to be fairly similar but with a couple of new things it was actually for Manchester United the first time they’ve had six over 600 passes in a game this season so ball possession clearly something that Amarin wants to impose upon the side let’s take a look at the way they set up because it was a very different uh formation they lined up with three at the back you can see Diego Doo and Amad Dio as Wing backs there and I think the other significant change is when you look at this the front three Marcus rashford who you normally see out on the left hand side cutting infield he was playing as the number nine you got garnacho who’ normally play on the right on the left and then Bruno Fernandez playing in that two behind Marcus rashford as well so a very different role but that’s essentially what amarim wants from his side he loves three at the back with the wing back so they’ve got that solidity when they’re defending but the opportunity to get it out wide when they go forward so yeah that was quite an interesting change which we knew we were going to see for Manchester United when you compare that to United’s previous game against Leicester where they lined up in a 4231 formation you can see the changes like we say rashford out on the on the right Dio playing as a as an inside forward or a high Winger compared to playing as a wing back obviously the back four as well very different uh and then obviously the the two pivots in the middle of the park there so yeah that’s the difference between Manchester United against ipswitch and then United against Leicester uh obviously there are small differences with regards to players as well we mentioned Bruno Fernandez who’s been been such an important part of Manchester United over the last few years hasn’t he playing in a different role and garnacho playing in a different role let’s take a look at the heat maps and this gives you an indication as to perhaps where things may be tweaked and changed now this is the heat map against ipswitch you can see on the right hand side where you are stirred garnacho it comes out wide he’s playing in a two behind Marcus rashford but he still wants to operate down that leftand flank so you’re not seeing a great deal of difference in terms of his heat map in the game however I think this is really significantly different look at Bruno Fernandez you normally see him operating in these areas Advanced attacking Midfield areas however defensive responsibility clearly something that Ruben Amarin wants Bruno Fernandez to look at you know and he spoke about it in the press conference after the game he’s got that ability to see passes play forward be Progressive with the way he takes Manchester United up the pitch if he’s receiving the ball in these areas he can’t do that however when he’s getting the ball in his own half he’s got a whole pitch to look at and try and make things happen for Manchester United because he does have that passing range but interesting to see a very different heat map for that Man Bruno Fernandez so it’ be interesting to see how the new Manchester United boss makes these tweaks and changes how he tries to adapt and create a Manchester United that are not only going to take on teams win games and be more like the United we’ve seen in the past but obviously some of the postmatch comments are probably suggested it’s going to take a little bit longer than Manchester United fans uh would expect so’ be interesting to see how these tweaks and changes develop games upon game so very different looking United [Music]
