you keep changing players when you keep changing your back three you take five players off you’re basically saying to all of them effectively because they’ve obviously been left out at the start of the game that you don’t trust them and ten hard kept doing that a few weeks ago he kept changing the back plays changing the Midfield and all of a sudden you’ve got a completely different system a completely different set of players on the pitch at the end of the game and you can never get stability or consistency I think there just an element of what Tim’s just said just leave the players on they actually weren’t playing that bad in the first half obviously they were undermined by the set pieces in terms of the corners but the football generally wasn’t that bad then you allow two mistakes that were made after halftime within the first 10 minutes to undermine you and then basically you make changes and all of a sudden everything falls to pieces and it look really scruffy really scruffy they look a mess at the end United with no real shape I actually think at least in the first half they weren’t brilliant but at least they had a shape to them so on Monday morning on the training ground what’s the first and most important thing he does I think I said this for tenh for probably about 12 months pick an 11 that you think are the best but he doesn’t know does he I know but I thought today the team we all agreed before the game even Leon commentary and Peter discussed it before the game we thought that 11 was probably apart from Luke Shaw as close to man United’s best elers you could get but then he changed five of them I know I’m not saying don’t make a substitution but almost give that 11 the faith and trust mesa’s doing it now at Chelsea he’s playing an 11 on a Sunday or a Saturday and then he’s playing a different 11 in midweek and he’s sending some some messages to the players that the stability here this is what we’re going to do and this is how we’re going to play this is an idea that I believe in when you change players all the time you’re almost saying to everybody you know you’re just juggling plates spinning plates all the time there’s no consistency or or familiarity that can build with players you need to build patterns together you need to build that sort of idea of what you’re doing together and they can never do that if players are changing in all areas of the pitch you agree with that Tim yeah I do I mean the one thing that sticks out for me is is in 18 months time when I think United will will start to be at their best it won’t look anything like this so many of these players won’t won’t be there and and I look at and I said something to you both off air like something’s crept into into United a few things but this we’re we’re we’re we’re playing from behind and you snatch it across and it was it was a good movement of play and you’re pumping up the crowd and you’re like this isn’t what man like I I’ve played with players at Manchester United that would have been embarrassed and they would have told me we’re losing the game you don’t pump up the crowd you win the game and you walk off the pitch and so there’s been a lot of that with this with this current team and that that’s about strong leaders and characters holding each other accountable which they don’t have yet no no good team was ever a good team without hard work Manchester United a 13th in the league and their running stats their distance covered is 16th in the league you don’t deserve anything if you’re being outrun every single week and that’s also interesting because the first game under Ruben amam their running stats were pretty low weren’t they I remember you saying which just show you’d have thought that it’s first game they’d run their hearts out it it’s to me the sort of the worst thing that can be said about you is that basically you’re not a hardworking player or you’re not a hardworking team and I think when I interviewed ran am Amarin three weeks ago he said the first thing that I want to change is the athleticism of the squad he’s basically saying they’re not fit enough they’re not as fit as the other players in the league they don’t work as hard as the other players in the league when Manchester United give the ball away they don’t Sprint back with the same intensity as other players in the league that you watch and it’s it is really I mean must be the one thing that a fan wants to see going into a stadium is their players if you like caring and passionate for the shirt they want to see them working as hard as they possibly can and they’ll forgive a lot of other things forgive mistakes but you don’t get that from United you get the poor quality you get actually a team that is lethargic in the way in which they work and it’s not easy to like just quickly how quickly can you get that Fitness we’re talking weeks or we’re talking months whether it’s Fitness confidence belief or whether it’s just general work ethic it’s a mixture of all three and I can’t work out you know Ruben am’s got to work out pretty quickly is it a work ethic issue there is definitely a work ethic issue in that Squad where they don’t know what the standard is there is definitely a fitness issue in that Squad and a confidence issue and to be fair it’s a vicious circle I’m not quite sure how you get out of it but something’s got to give he’s got to hble sacrifice maybe the next month and say right we’ve got to do a Fitness Camp and we might lose games on the Saturday because we’ve worked hard during the week but the out upside of that is that in February March April May we’ll be fitter we’ll be stronger and we might start to see something in the telegraph it’s come out an interview um that s Jim rackliffe has done with United We Stand fanine just want to read you a couple of quotes Tim I’ll start with you these are some quotes from s Jim R Cliffe the club has drifted for a long period of time a decade or so Manchester United has become mediocre there is a major change to come to achieve Elite status it’s not Elite and it’s supposed to be one of the best football clubs in the world trying to turn what’s been relatively mediocre into an elite top team it’s a big task it is not an easy problem to solve they are strong strong words actually quite similar to what Ruben amarim said about being a massive Club but not a massive team I mean there’s no doubt about this they’re trying to make sure everyone knows this ain’t happening in 2025 well certainly not 24 and probably not in 25 right that’s what the message are trying to get out there yeah yeah look I pump the brakes I I like um what sergeon ratliffe has done since he’s taking over the club and and quite frankly once Sir Sir Alex Ferguson had left the Dugout this club needed a figurehead and they haven’t had it they haven’t had someone at the top to just say I’m in charge and I’ll say what needs to be said and he’s doing that and I think it’s important and I and again I like what he’s done I like the things he said particularly the fact that his manager is onest same page as him as are the people under him um it’s a strong statement but it was needed it’s realism is it too negative or are you okay with it I mean we’ve wanted a voice at the club for many many years we wanted someone to speak out um Ruben amim saying that basically it’s a massive Club but not a massive team and Jim rackliff saying that the club is currently mediocre we’ve just seen the evidence out there on the pitch what we’ve just been discussing about that lack of work ethic that lack of belief lack of confidence you know there’s no Authority in the club they’ve lost the the scale of their own shadow there’s not a boldness there’s not that sort of feeling of sort of being proud you know they need to get that back and it’s not going to come back very easy but at least they’re talking about it at least they’re confronting their problems headon and accepting what they currently are as difficult as it is to watch oh we now know that chriswood will never make a good pundit he knows his stuff he seems to um yeah well done not Forest first wi at Old Trafford for 30 years and what performance are yeah they were brilliant it was a really good recovery from what happened to them in uh in week they had three shots on target they had three goals and everything about them today was outstanding the organization their ability the togetherness when they had to stick together they were just really impressive and the good thing is that they’ve probably seen how weak man united are at set pieces they conceded two in the midweek and you get one after 2 minutes in this what hovic more than Martinez he’s he bullies them in there taller as well well you’ve got to still get the direction ahead and everything but the press the the way they commit men forward Sher will talk more about this goal in a minute but the keeper should actually save that yes it’s a good strike but the impressive thing is is that how many men they had for this sort of typified their performance they win the ball on the edge of their own box they’ve got men in there behind the ball to defend and work as they do very well but the three people I’ve highlighted have a look where they end up from the edge of their own box within seconds all through them are in the other box and creating chances and eventually getting the goal Gibbs white put a really not a great balling but they look at the way they actually win the ball back keep the pressure on keep the ball alive and then straight here when you’ve got someone in form you get the ball in the Box to chriswood and did that I mean what delict and what Martinez are doing I’m not quite sure but then they they come under the cush cuz they they then concede a goal and for the last sort of half an hour or so they had to do this they had to defend they had to get bodies put bodies on the line they had to stick together they did so one tackle we’ve just seen another uh another block morat comes on he then does his job with one header then the block minkovich also has the block again from rashford from the uh from the edge of the box and that is why Forest are where they are at this moment in time in the league because they’re playing well they’re they’re full of confidence and they’ve got a striker in the form of his life in chriswood and as he said nice things about me there you go look how valuable he is to for us this season the points that he’s won it’s incredible he’s having a great season he really is um to the untrained eye it looked like Andrea n had a a bad day are you asking me yes yeah as a trained ey as a trained ey is that what you’re trying to say yeah that’s debatable but yeah it was a pure it was a PO goal Gary wasn’t as a PO goal you can see we try and break it down I’ll try and stick up for him as part of the goalkeeper Union but it’s very difficult if being brutally honest obviously Gibbs white picks it up in the edge of the box and you can see from this shot here it’s it’s it’s he’s got a clear view of it of course it does move a little bit in in andrean’s defense but he should save this there’s no getting away from it what he what he does do when you see it from the other angle he links his body weight all to the one side he’s in a good set position we can see his balance is good his agility is good he’s in a good spot so he’s set for the shot and you’ll just see after it goes past here now it starts moving but what he does car he move leaves all his weight to his right side so he can adjust got shot tooji face on the ball in my opinion that’s probably right to be fair in my opinion if he stays stays loose on his feet he can actually adjust his feet without diving at all and and and make the block but it’s a really poor goal you see he’s left fo I’m trying to I’m clutching for straws here to see if he studs get stuck on the ground but I know you two his ex- Strikers are giving me dirty looks across the studio so it’s a very poor goal to give away but he had one of them days guy this was a couple of minutes after you know I don’t know if his head scrambled at this point a poor pass into Midfield and again you know that goal came at the start of the second half he come out us it’s all Rush it’s all panic and and that’s not what he brings and this is the injury time this is farle this kind of sums his day up and actually in his defense he’s probably been the one of the best players man this season but this is stuff of old he hasn’t moved the ball in inch look back to the same place and people say the rest being pedante but I actually think he’s right take it from where it is it takes 45 seconds guy for take this and after all that watch with the ball ends up he over hits the free kick and this is injury time you wanted to put it more Central to give them something to attack I mean har tries to keep it alive but it’s it’s it’s a really poor things so FR straighten afternoon for him yeah can I can I just go back on a technical matter as we’ve you we’ve got your expertise is hit um on that goal when he’s on his line now in my day a goalkeeper will be somewhere there’s going to shoot there somewhere near the edge of the sixy nowadays a lot of Keepers like particularly an I think stays deep in his goal now for me that makes the goal really big and my eyes as a striker would would light up yeah why why the keepers now a bit deeper it’s good it’s a really good point you me because towards the end of M care I was sort of coached a bit more as to be stay a bit deeper in the goal and what that gives you gives you more time to adjust what we what we’re seeing in this angle again is onano leaning his weight but from is I think he’s not a bad position that goes a couple of yards out so what that allows him to do is move his feet adjust his feet but when he goes really heavy to one side you can’t move so it’s basically gives you a fraction longer to react but it does make the goal bigger it does look bigger you said that off a it as I was a striker it makes it look bigger feels like you’ve got more to hit big job for him really he’s got a huge job he he must have walked into that football club and thought this is what you’re given me you’ve spent 600 million with the previous manager and this is what I’ve got to work with got a huge job on his hands well there is a lot to pick out of that but we have to credit Nottingham Forest they win a game at Old Trafford for the first time since December 1994 disappointment of course for Manchester United oh and your overall thoughts on what we saw today well one team that had a lot of quality was not in force they were brilliant and we they’ve had a lot of quality All Season you know they’ve had maybe a little blip I think they they lost to Man City and in Arsenal 3-0 uh away but obviously today they they showed their best face they didn’t have much of the ball but what they did have they they were very efficient when they got in front of goal defensively they’re really good goalkeepers really strong they’re a good team but at the top of the pitch they got guys who can score goals and I just thought today couldn’t afford them you know they they deserve to get three points today amam said in his postmatch interview that man united had really disappointing starts to both of the halves and they conceded the first goal really early on in 91 seconds yeah it’s was too early um and disappointment to be honest I think when you actually see the goal um when you want your Defenders to be strong and that Dom I think Martinez is I mean when he watch be dis pointed because you know I think you know he just gets pinned to be honest and you look at his setup you think okay it’s not too bad there see Martinez and Movic he’s he’s got him here he’s tight there’s no blocks or anything like that it’s just not strong enough just not strong enough you know just just not dominant J I’m not sure he can do anything about that he’s just too big minkovich is he you look where he he’s J he’s above him holding him while he jumps yeah and and when you watch you think why is he marking him then yeah he probably should be no should beand or somebody maybe of the same physical size but he actually holds him while he jumps rely see that at this level and actually the story continues for United in terms of goals conceded from set pieces only Southampton and wolves have conceded more why is it such a struggle for them they conceded the two against Arsenal as well midweek Arsenal could have had about four or five I mean every corner was a problem um a lot of its delivery I mean the delivery was great and the header from linkovich was terrific a lot of it setup you know teams do they used to Mark before and then they did zonal now they do almost like a hybrid model of half marking half zal in the end the most important thing is you got to be aggressive and you you got to get to the ball milenovic did it Martinez didn’t and that’s why the goal happened well holand did score and equalized but we’ll have a look at Morgan Gibbs white goal which came early on in the second half as well talk us through this one well look men are going to try and play you know and this is how they want it look martinz go back toand they find the spare man that’s good they leaked out to yoro but the problem is yo when you’re a center back you can’t play a onew here but it’s not a great ball from Bruno Fernandez but y can’t overrun that because this is what happens ugat over covers and Gibbs white gets a free shot at the edge of the box and we’ll see it from here watch watch yoro really you got to hope for the best but plan for the worst which means you got to stay back they’re trying to play a little triangle watch this watch where he runs yo okay it’s a bad ball from Bruno he’s out of the game turnover good ball from Hudson adoi you see onani he can obviously see that from Gibbs white coming but I think it takes a bit of a spin Jermain right at the end which takes it away from Onana yeah it’s a good stack I mean it’s just it’s just a case of you know just hitting a Target but when you watch it and it it does it does move um but still he gets a hand on it and then of course Chris Wood strikes on his 33rd birthday yeah but the thing is he’s in there 3v one why is Gibs why it’s so easy to get across into the box and I don’t even think he’s trying to score because he can’t get any power on it so he’s just trying to head it back across goal but look at this they do really well to win the second ball look how many bodies they have forward in in United Z obviously J keeps it alive good ball in from Gibbs white he’s just trying to head it back across goal even when we spoke before we spoke about you know when you play with fullbacks and that you know You’ got the security behind you so why would you not go and engage and stop the cross you mean D’s got to get to him yeah he has to go out he too far it’s too I mean Morgan Gib he got he’s got quality and and I bet you can’t believe the space that he’s got you know just to sort of like control it look up and pull in the area but it’s a fantastic header I don’t know if he meant to score but you know to score on your birthday 10 League goals it’s brilliant yeah and to become Nottingham Forest alltime top goal score he surpasses Brian Roy there who was on 24 I mean to be in that company as well Jermaine as a Striker what what does that mean it deserves a lot of credit I mean you know as Center forward you’re judged on scoring goals you know he’s a team that’s that’s winning games cuz you want your goals to count for something you know if he scored 10 League goals and and I’m in the bottom three then you think okay but the fact that he scored 10 League goals and in the top five and you look at some of the names I mean Stan colore someone who I watched as a kid um but he he must be delighted we got to talk Bruno Fernandez he was really influential in the game actually as you pointed out as we were watching it but his goal for 3-2 how good was this class I mean that ball alone I mean the switch is it’s just a a player pass you know puts it out wide Imad did brilliantly chops are Defenders and Bruno Just Nestles into a spot where he knows only ammed can pass on the ball but I love that he’s probably the only player in the team that can do that but just the intelligence they ow when he runs into the box like he can see he probably thinks right he’s going to cut back and just he changes the foot pattern there because it’s a it’s a straight pass there intelligence awareness at any level kids top level where’s my teammate what does he need I got to drop off into this little pocket look at the way to pass Jermaine soz I think if he plays that too heavy then maybe you have to take a touch then the pitch has gone then cuz there’s obviously you know there’s bodies in the way um but then you know the weight a pass but then the finish on top of that you know brilliant player so Ruben dams had five games in charge you can see two defeats two wins and ADW what do you think he’s learned from those games I think he’s learned it’s going to be harder probably than he thought that’s for sure the Swit game was tough they could have lost that obviously the Arsenal game um even Everton was closer than a 4-0 so he’s still finding his way with this team he’s trying to find you know in terms of consistency and picking people defensively in Midfield and at the top of the pitch he’s giving everybody an opportunity I think eventually he’s going to have to settle on who he believes in all the teams we see whether it’s Forest Arsenal Liverpool they’re consistent in their team selection and I think right now the two most consistent players or three is mazra um Ahmad Ahad and and Bruno the other players got to step up for him and they have City next don’t they which is obviously a huge game got Europe football in between he hasn’t got much time to figure out on the training pitch he’s got time to just figure out in the game which is a difficult place to be yeah it’s difficult you know and you know when you come in at this stage of the season it’s not easy um especially with these kind of coaches listen he’s a top coach we’ve seen it um at sporting but I can imagine it’s a lot of information that players got to take on board um can imagine he’d be doing in the meetings as well um but it’s a lot of games in a short space of time but he’s got to find a way he’s got to find his best team and the players have got to perform you know the players have got to perform because if there’s loots of information and you take on board you have to go out and execute and if you don’t you’re not going to win football matches Rasmus not the result that you wanted I guess no uh no not at all um annoying um to concede fre at home against Forest but yeah um we sort of knew if they should get something it was some some um irritating goals you can see um then again we need to do better um all of us it’s not only individuals we we all need to do better and um yeah today uh it could have been much much better is it is it more frustrating because in Parts you were so good when the ball’s moving quickly for example for your goal where it’s one end to the other and everybody’s sort of achieving what they want to achieve and then you that’s in sharp comparison to when it hasn’t quite gone so well yeah it’s um it’s a bit annoying they score I think very early in the second half and also very early in in in the first half which is sort of killing the momentum a little bit and the confidence as well so I think if we I think we we play all right in the first half after we get the the first goal but yeah it it it kills the game a little bit that they get the the two goals but then again um we played home and we need to we still got like I think 35 minutes left so obviously we need to do more and uh see if we could have at least got a point five goals for you this season now and it felt like um felt like a proper Striker’s goal that one chasing it in and making sure you were there to put the finishing touch on it yeah it’s my job to to sort of be in in these in these positions um but then again I’m not really thinking too much about that right now I’m to be honest quite um quite devastated um because we know we need the points but then again um yeah we play in what 4 days 3 days so we now need to to prepare for that and uh yeah and important Derby in the next week is that is that a good thing having a game so soon that you can put it all to B and go again yeah I think so um we have to put it right now on when is it Thursday uh and then um prove to the fans and and also to prove to ourselves and that we need to do better and I’m sure we will thanks r no Nan’s had a lot more to look at in the space of what three or four days this week what what do you think he would have learned Phil from from these two defeats look I think he’s got a clear identity of the way he wants to play um I think he’s got a clear message of how he wants every individual player to to to be and in and in possession out of possession that will take time of course he’s alluded to the fact that it’s going to take time to to implement his style and the way he wants to go about things but I think when you strip it back and and you know the principles never change whichever system you’re going to play whichever formation you’re going to play um but I do think you know if you’re going to concede goals like they have and set plays they’re going to find it increasingly difficult it may sound like a silly question Jamie but how important he’s actually you know as part of this process he’s trying to learn about his team he’s trying to in instill all this new information but how important is he actually wins in these early stages as well well it yeah of course it is but there is there is actually a world where if he would have come in we would talk about a manager bounce and if he’ have come in and they had have gone five games on the bounce winning every game two three 4 nil I think it would have papered over a lot of the cracks because he wouldn’t have learned so the probably the best thing that can be happening right now is to see the weaknesses is is to see the fragility in the team where they’re not good enough defensively not good enough going forward they he needs time but at risk of repeating myself he needs more time than anybody every manager because under Al oig gun soulart they were inconsistent under ten hog they were inconsistent and not that Eric ten hog was the right man I think we all figured that by the end but he looks like he has some in he has he has a style and a way of playing but he’s going to need time to get to see which players are with me which players want to run for me which players are disciplined and want to be live like footballers and be a professional and play for a club of the magnitude he said it this week didn’t he he said that we’re a huge Club but we haven’t haven’t got big players and that’s what it looks like so that I always feel when a manager comes in don’t get fooled by it and and the probably the fact they’re getting bad results he’s not great for the fans they want to see him winning straight away but at least he’ll know now who’s with him who’s good enough who isn’t and he will learn a lot more quickly by what’s happened at the moment than he will if he’ll get fooled by a couple of win if they turned it around today and win 4-3 it’ have been like cool what a great result but are are we still that good do you think he would have been surprised Phil by the scale of what he’s taken on I think you said it when we watching the game Jamie every every result is news for Manchester United whether they win or or they lose listen becoming the manager of Manchester United is is is a mammoth task um you know ever since Sir Alex Ferguson left um we they’ve had managers come in who try to to to replicate that or come close to that and it’s been very difficult um you know a new manager comes in you always want to give them time you always want to give them you know the time to develop the squad the team um but he you know I like I like the way he conducts himself I like the way he speaks he’s confident he he’s he’s he’s got this aura about him where he knows what he wants and what he where he wants to go so listen I think time on the training pitch to to to implement the way he wants to to build up in possession to be out of possession I think you’ve seen clips and and and little moments in games where you’re thinking ah okay you can you can see the the structures there you can see out of in possession where they’re on they’re a transition they look bit more sharper but I think for now it’s about putting that package together putting that complete performance together to try and really um Salvage something from the season I suppose my question is when is he going to get that time because at the moment certainly he’s got a game every three or four days and that’s going to carry on with another uh what we got six before the end of December so could you actually I mean can he actually use these games to practice things as well to try players out in different positions he’s certainly rotating his side four or five changes per game yeah yeah he has rotated but I think he’s coming and realized that you know they the amount of injuries that they sustained last year last season I think he’s realized that he has to manage everyone manage the loads the training loads um especially in in games there’s so many games coming up in the Europa League conference and the Premier League and the cup games so you’ve got to really manage the players um and I think he’s doing that but probably probably suffering from a little bit of that as well there were some big ones on the horizon as well I don’t know if we can have another quick look at those those fixtures but there’s the pills and one and then and then it’s the Manchester Derby but after that it’s the cup as well you’re in the quarterfinal stage now you’re not far away from the possibility of silverware so with that stand out almost as the one even with the Manchester Derby looming that the one he would really want to win well can you Nick a trophy this season and get a feel good Factor you you’re still creating history at the club that’s obviously won so many trophies in the past that none of them are easy fixtures when you’re in good form it’s hard the Premier League but the first one he’ll look at is obviously the pill he’ll adjust his Squad accordingly away um Victoria Pleasant and then he’s got Man City where that’s the first big what you say game where he would look at and go what I’m starting to get my squad now this is who I need to be fit who I need to be playing and then he can maybe take a little bit more for that probably is going to be a best 11 with the players that he has right now he’s a fitness manager at sporting his team run the most in the league probably almost the most in Europe he would demand them to Sprint but the hardest thing when you’re a manager when you coming halfway through the season is to implement that because you can’t start running players in training because games are coming thick and fast you play playing Thursdays Sundays it’s very difficult so he’s going to have a he’s going to need a lot of time for him to get the players up to the level of of the intensity that he needs and when you see that City game right now this is this is not Manchester City of last season right now this is a team that’s dropped more points today might they think this is a chance for us to go and um make some headlines of our own look they’ve struggled in in recent games um what it seven out of eight games they’ve lost now um I mean we talk about vulnerability they’ve definitely shown fragility about them of late um they don’t look the same city um as what they have done in the past um listen it’s it’s a derby I always say doesn’t matter of form going into those games don’t really don’t really come into it too much it’s a game it’s a big game for both sets of fans both sets of players and you know if if if you can get one over on City then I’m sure that will give him the the impetus to to go and for and for the fans as well you know could be a turning point that could be a catalyst then for go on to to Really you know gain a bit of momentum in the season it certainly should have been good instead before he even turned up at Old Trafford by beating them with with Sporting Lisbon they don’t have um gorz unfortunately Manchester United now you must be very very satisfied with pretty much everything today I would think yeah there are not too many things to be upset of I think the the the boys did amazing the we have the luck of the game scoring the first action makes everything difference and after that I think we play good we were we were together moment of lack of focus to allow the two three so we felt that tonight is gonna gonna respond but um I’m I’m happy of course this this is something you’re making a habit of you’ve scored first now in 12 of your league games this season what is the secret to that the players the believe of the players believing that every minute every action is is important and not only the beginning of the game but the beginning of the second half was was very good for us it was very good the way we recover the ball so high achieving the goals the the composure was good was good I think the team is growing improving we still have things to to address things to address but he being nice the road that we are doing together did you ask the players to to pick the pace up to really go for it the start of that second half because what a lightning start it was look at half time is about trying to get the details right what you see you know for example in the first half we we were organized but we were allow United to break to the middle and immediately go for the wide areas it’s about has to be the other way around so was adjusting details and after it’s the work of the their work their belief their quality yeah and we talk about details did you talk about Corners particularly in the buildup to this given United struggles that they had in the week no we do look nothing has have changed uh the preparation of the game the only difference was was a big ask for us to come to Manchester in three days time after such a a tough moment at at city against City but we prepare always the same we always the same I believe the consistency of the set pieces is what gives you success so keep doing the same things until we achieve it and after defeats at Arsenal and City just how much of a boost is this to to get back on the road and get back winning again it’s very very important always to to bounce back after after a bad results I truly believe against C we didn’t do a bad performance I knew that um it was going to be hard it’s going to be hard to come here again that’s why I think fresh legs made a difference in the in the game during the game having fresh legs to to go and very happy with the players that come in and give energy impact the game help the team I think that it’s important that we realize that the togetherness is is basic and fundamental in this in this league because it’s so competitive do you learn more from defeats than you maybe do from victories about your players and about the the job that you’ve got you pay more attention but in this moment even if you win we are in the start of something so so big that we pay attention in every detail and we’ll be there uh again the next game in the next game that’s it that that we already know that he’s a he’s a big job uh so we have to continue you join alen Sher an exclusive Club because you’re the top scorer of two different teams in the Premier League there’s only you two that’s not bad company to be in definitely not I mean he’s a he’s a fantastic man and a great Striker for for both clubs that he play for ones in the Premier League elast and things like that so yeah it’s fantastic it’s been for Burnley and now forest and then just keep going do as much as they can this game showed head coach Ruben amim just how big a job has got on his hands at Manchester United it was almost expected that United would go to the Emirates and lose they are after all two teams at very different stages in their development on the other hand Nottingham Forest played in the efl championship as recently as 2022 and arrived in Manchester having lost three of their last last four games they left with their first victory at Old Trafford in 30 years co-owner sir Jim ratliffe says United have become mediocre some of the defending during the 3-2 defeat to Nuno espiro Santos team was far worse than that we already knew it would be tough said amarim it will be a long journey but we want to win because this is a massive Club you feel it when you lose one game it’s really hard for everybody I can understand that I can feel it in the stadium after the first goal we understand the context but we have to keep going in the same way doing the same things the same words I have here with the 4 to zero win over Everton I have today focus on the performance we need to improve in a lot of aspects of the game and continue to do the same things tomorrow in training amarim has spent much of his first 3 weeks on the job talking about his tactics but formations and systems mean very little when you’ve got players making the most basic errors the first mistake against Forest came from Lisandro martinz inside 9 seconds the Argentinian failed to jump with Nica milinkovic who powered Elliot Anderson’s Corner pass goalkeeper and drana it was the third goal conceded from a setpiece in the last four days after Arsenal got two on Wednesday after united equalized through Rasmus jand the next two mistakes were from Bruno Fernandez and Onana less than 2 minutes into the second and half Fernandez attempted flick to laner Euro making his full competitive debut was easily cut out by a blue Forest shirt before the ball was worked to Morgan Gibbs white his shot from the edge of the area was speculative at best but still somehow found a way past Onana it was a howler from The Cameroon goalkeeper reminiscent of some of his worst mistakes last season it wasn’t the end of the calamitus and if anything forest’s thirdd goal was the worst of the lot first kobby m and Dogo D were outfought on the edge of their own area then Yuro Was Out jumped by chriswood at the back Post Woods looping header back across goal seemed relatively harmless but as Onana martinz and maer lied all looked at each other the ball crept into the corner as would celebrating his 33rd birthday wheeled away to celebrate in front of the traveling Forest fans with those fans who have now been treated to victories at anfield and Old Trafford this season the three culprits looked at each other in disbelief they only had themselves to blame Fernandez pulled a goal back but it wasn’t enough to prevent amam from losing back-to-back topf flight gains for only the second time in his managerial career and for the first time since August 2022 he said at the start of the week that a storm is coming and in the wind and rain that battered Manchester for much of the day Forest proved him right I had this and worse in sporting in the beginning said amarim the feeling for me is the same but for the world it’s completely different you know sporting in Portugal but Manchester United has a lot of attention but for me it’s the same feeling I had this period at sporting and if you are a little experienced in football this happens with a lot of clubs and we have to manage to continue to do the same things and improve the team because this will turn around we need time and to continue to work in the same way every day the storm might not be over just yet United have a UEFA Europa League tie against FC Victoria pulen on thir Thursday followed by amram’s first Manchester Derby against Manchester City at the EAD Stadium 3 days later theve got games against Tottenham Hotspur Newcastle United Liverpool and Arsenal to come before the end of January defeat to Forest left United 13th in the table with just 19 points their lowest tally after 15 games since the 1986 to 87 season amarim is attempting to lift the club up from one of their lowest es in modern times he already knew the size of the task before Forest brutally laid it out for all to see Ruben amaram said Manchester United are facing a long journey back to the top after Nottingham Forest recorded their first win at Old Trafford for 30 years Forest won 3 to2 on Saturday to condemn amam to backto back topf flight defeats for the first time since August 2022 when he was in charge of sporting CP the result leaves United 13th in the table with just 19 points their lowest tally after 15 games since the 1986 to 86 7 season we already knew it would be tough amarim said it will be a long journey but we want to win because this is a massive Club you feel it when you lose one game it’s really hard for everybody I can understand that I can feel it in the stadium after the first goal we understand the context but we have to keep going in the same way doing the same things the same words I have here with the 4 to Zer win over Everton I have today fol Fus on the performance we need to improve in a lot of aspects of the game and continue to do the same things tomorrow in training United were undone by a series of defensive mistakes which allowed Forest to add victory at Old Trafford to their 1 to zero win over Liverpool at anfield in September
