guys support has been unbelievable so thank you for that but Darius we had a video literally a couple hours ago now but uh news has dropped and it is surrounding Alex neander William neer’s Brother of course he has been placed on waivers in a pretty surprising move here not because he’s been playing well and it’s not surprising because of how you know great his on Ice performance has been but a he’s William neander Brother for one and B they signed him to an HL only contract earlier this season in which he had a ton of other NHL offers so you suspected at this point they were going to let him ride it out a little bit but no Alex nander is officially on waivers now which means any team can claim him we will see if other teams do claim him this was kind of the writing on the wall was kind of already there for this after Nikita gankin got sent down here but this means a few different things it means returns are on the horizon which we’ll dive into a little bit later in the video but darus Alex neander he has officially been placed on waivers and a little bit surprising that they they let him go despite his poor performance here I have to say I did say it from the beginning that this was a player who was called up because there was a lot of injuries this is not a player that fits in with what the Toronto Maple Leafs want to be right now I think that he is still an NHL player I do believe that and you know there’s a team out there whether it be Columbus maybe even Pittsburgh that could use a player like this maybe in their top six but it just does not work with the Toronto Maple Leafs and it was a fun story while it lasted as well and I’m also saying this as if he’s going to get claimed I would say there’s a pretty good chance he’s going to get claimed because there’s a couple teams out there that could use a player like this but there’s a real possibility he does just get sent back to the Marley’s and he’ll be on the AHL Marley’s there and still in the organization and playing with his brother and uh I mean there was a couple years ago where Jason betza you know said if I get put on waivers or anything here like I’m not reporting to any other team so don’t claim me so I’m not saying that that’s going to happen here was speculating about that a little bit but I think there’s a real possibility he gets claimed here it was a fun story while it lasted if he does get claimed tomorrow at the uh the waiver deadline there at around noon so it was a fun story but again he doesn’t fit exactly what the map Leafs need he’s not really a third or fourth line player he doesn’t bring that to the table he’s more of a scorer and he’s not doing that with the Toronto Maple Leaf so I saw the writing on the wall for sure and with guys coming back from injury I think this also signals we’ll get to it in a little bit we can touch on it Bobby MCB will probably be back tomorrow night against Anaheim Ducks yeah a lot of moves going down here and also Dakota mermis he has also been placed on waivers so the Leafs have made multiple moves here and again a little bit surprising in some ways a little bit not because again he didn’t play phenomenally he doesn’t fit the Craig Brew system here but I thought there was going to be a world maybe they keep him around for a little bit longer especially given the fact that you know after all all they did in the off season the whole AHL contract and they converted him hopefully and hoping he was going to be able to play well he he just didn’t and ultimately that’s the case and also Dakota mermis is another guy who was put on waivers and we’ll know whether or not they’ll they’re claim soon which would be obviously helpful here and other teams are already they already have Alex neander on their uh on their eyes they’re already looking out for Alex neander and Darius I want to get your thoughts on this as well other teams are already you know fan bases of other teams are already saying that hey we should go ahead and and claim this guy and again he has NHL experience we’ll get into his stats here in a minute but he has NHL experience he’s shown some ability at the NHL level and if you’re a team that doesn’t have an abundance of forwards then Alex nander is probably as good of a flyer on the waivers as you could possibly get yeah absolutely I do think I do truly believe that this is an NHL player it’s just not with certain teams right and what certain teams need and if he’s going to play in the bottom six here it’s just not going to work long term right he wasn’t long for this team anyway so I do think there are teams and I mentioned it like maybe Pittsburgh or Columbus two teams he was just on actually last two teams or maybe even a place like Chicago could use a player like this I think that he will play in the NHL if he is claimed so I think it’s going to be interesting to keep an eye on he went off last year in a small sample size for the Columbus Blue Jackets as well in terms of goal scoring so he doesn’t really bring anything else to the table but he can be a scorer and I think a lot of teams could use that right now I’m looking again at Chicago at a place like Columbus they could use players right now so I think there’s a real possibility the leaf organization is going to lose him here but um I think the goal was for him you know to sign here to play and live with his brother uh be closer to his brother he did that obviously we said you know in this uh offseason in the summer that if injuries happen you could see him getting a contract being called up to the team it was a fun story took pictures with his brother got to play with his brother on the power play stuff like that but it looks like to me at least that’s probably coming to an end here yeah which is a little bit unfortunate because again he’s living with his brother all the different things that and then as you look into it now he’s kind of just you know he had a bad start he had five games zero points which again it’s not really the points that you look for minus one none of that stuff matters as much as actually watching him play and seeing the impact that he had and quite frankly he just didn’t have the impact that the Toronto Maple lefs needed he didn’t fit the Craig breay play style that being said he’s only 26 years old he has lots of potential still he was drafted very high in the draft there were some people who thought he could be better than William neander at the time of when he was drafted at the time of the draft there so there’s a lot of you know factors that still play regarding Alex neander I just don’t think it’s going to be with the Toronto Maple Leafs no it’s probably not going to be with the Toronto Maple Leafs it could be with the Toronto Marley’s right he could just not be claimed we don’t know what’s going to happen until we find out tomorrow afternoon but I think there’s a real chance here he gets claimed and again it didn’t work out like you brought up five games right and it wasn’t just the fact that there’s zeros almost all across the board it’s the fact that especially in the last two games he took penalties that you just can’t take especially in those situations and offensive zone face off or penalties excuse me so they were uh bad penalties to take he’s having a negative impact in that way he didn’t fit the play style if this is a guy who’s going to play on the third and fourth line it’s just not going to work on a team like this because what you need out of your third and fourth line if you’re the Toronto Maple Leafs he doesn’t bring to the table so he would need to play in the top six he’s not going to play in the top six in Toronto so uh it’s a tough situation but it was a good story while it lasted but again uh I think he’s going to end up probably playing somewhere else and if he goes back down to the Marley if that it because that is a possibility here uh he’s going to continue to rip it up in the AHL and then they can call him back up if need be later in the season as well and we might see him stick around so that would be best case scenario I guess at this point but we’ll see what happens tomorrow yeah interesting comment here Alex L playing hockey with his brother was a good story until he started playing hockey which again I don’t think that’s fair to him that being said he did play Bad which is ultimately why he got waved but of other interesting notes Bob Mackenzie reported these comebacks obviously he got the max Patcher ready one dead on Max DOI is going uh you know he returned yesterday Jake mccab did not so we’re going to have to see regarding Jake mccab but darus all the Run in the wall for Bobby McMahon maybe even Jake mcab tomorrow against the Anaheim Ducks and of course Jacob trouba so it’s going to be interesting to see this opens up they needed to make some moves we didn’t know exactly what was going to happen but also have note here is that Fraser Minon they clearly are still valuing him right now they’re keeping him with the team so I think he’s played the best out of all the Marley guys that came up between grankin between lorence I mean or not lorrence Alex Steves for a brief while there and of course Alex neander we’re at a point now where hey Fraser Minon might be here to stay at least for the foreseeable future they bought him some more time of of course when Shake mccab comes back you have Yanni hakot there’s still some moves that need to be made here but ultimately seems Bobby M Bobby MCM Manar is going to return tomorrow which is very good he was looking really good in that first line in the absence of Austin Matthews and now we’re going to see what comes next yeah we’ll see what comes next and I think you know with the you know the waivers or putting uh Dakota mermis and Alex neander on waivers tells me that probably Jake McCabe is coming back as well tomorrow and then on top of that obviously Bobby McMahon was slated at to come back tomorrow anyway so it looks like that’s going to be uh they’re going to follow through on that then Jake mccab return tomorrow we’re going to keep tabs on that in the morning uh and then obviously Fraser Min he does look like he was the best of the group at this point and I’m interested to see what he’s going to do uh with some more playing time they’re clearly buying him some time giving him some playing time and some uh some roadway here so it’s going to be interesting to see what he does and I’m very interested to see if their plan changes at all because they haven’t really said anything about that but the plan was to send them back down to the Marley’s let him develop but he’s kind of played his way into a a third line Center position here so it’s going to be interesting to see the next couple games yeah let us know what your thoughts are we’ll keep you up to date with all the latest news like we always do and breaking news just dropped today so some more news I’m sure is coming so make sure to hit that subscribe button thank you guys for watching see you later
