I thought there’s a few things there you know just half court shot creation um having another ball handler out there um really wanted to play in the middle of the floorida tonight um they have some young guys that really try to pressure you and didn’t feel like playing on the side was good didn’t feel like playing in the post really was good either um cuz they they flood with that low guy and they’re disruptive kamara’s you know Kamar like Dyson Daniels or some of these other guys we played recently that um just kind of get you out of your your flow offensively if if you are stagnant uh so we wanted to just play in the middle of the floor um but I thought ruy in that second quarter was great and DLo just you know having a big time game ad was fantastic um and then defensively for us I I thought a number of guys uh played really well and uh Gabe Vincent Max Christie cam um it was a you know it was a it was overall a really really good game for our group along those lines um what’s sort of the big picture utility on a night like tonight in terms of I mean obviously deal hit shots but before that it felt like he was doing a lot of little things in terms of organization and stuff like that that mattered um you mentioned cam I mean he had four assists I think during the second quarter uh what’s sort of is is the the challenge to take this stuff that occurred like on a night when you know LeBron and and Austin aren’t out there in possessions and and figure out ways to fit this in yeah I think you have to adapt throughout the season with what works for the group and and what works for different players um you know I I will say you know night to night um LeBron and AD are going to have the ball and they’re going to the offense is going to run through them um you know how we do that has been different at different times throughout the year um the other guys um are really good offensive players and really talented and there’s nights where it’s it’s their nights and there’s nights where it’s not um so it it’s it’s a some of it is feel but again you have to you have to be open to mixing different things in um you know it’s fun because we when LeBron when LeBron was like scratched I went into my office and I and I put uh like seven atos together that obviously didn’t involve him one of which was for ruie uh which I don’t know if we’ve called an atto for him since the preseason and we executed it and he scored and we ended up running that nine or 10 times and I think they stopped it once so um just that flexibility I think is important you told us pregame with no LeBron you’re going to need your team to move cut pass get in transition and touch the pain every possession like how do you assess that checklist after the game yeah um I thought uh you know I don’t even know what this you know I thought I I I really thought the the the ad ruy combo uh was was really great uh in in the twom man and that um they just they couldn’t stop it so um maybe we didn’t need to touch the paint tonight you guys had um I think as in the second quarter part of 15-y old run you guys had I want to say five or six consecutive stops a lot of times we talk about offensive flow and Rhythm how much of that also applies defensively in terms of know stops can lead to more stop and that I guess ra the energy of the group yeah um we’ve talked about it with our group we’re a better defensive team when we’re set versus in transition and when you get stops and even if it’s not a transition bucket uh maybe there’s cross matches um the defense is you know scrambling and and you can uh you can exploit that [Music] um you know outside of aton’s um offensive rebounds and a couple of iso threes that we gave up two in the first half the odia one in the late in the in the in the second half um you know it was it was a very good defensive game for us I thought our veers are low man um you know they’re they’re not running a ton of ghost stuff the one thing they do run that they ghost out of is is similar to our horns chest and we defended that well so I think just overall the the defense was was really solid um coach I really like you know first of what you said about playing in the middle of the floor because I notic like DLo had a stretch where he was getting hot but he was going to that nail entry to to ruy and then I was kind of the same situation in the first quarter too where ad you made sure that you got him at the nail entry talk about that how you like that execution and then also you know the 14 steals tonight too as well yeah again our defensive activity was really good um I think Gabe ended up with with three steals ruy had four um you know it’s it’s obviously harder to double it’s harder to send help um in the middle of the floor than it is on the side or in the post um it just felt like both those guys whether it was through switching with ruy or uh with 80 primary or with the switch um we could get good offense out of that tonight you guys have um 4 days now until you have to play another game um you’re only going to practice once kind of what went into the calculus in terms of what this team needs um and I guess curiously for you I mean what about what the coaches need that’s what I was going to ask like like for you um getting this kind of Break um how are you going to handle it in terms of an audit and and stuff like that well we haven’t had a ton of practice time uh but the reality is we are banged up even the guys that are playing every night or banged up we I would say tonight is the end of a very long two-e road trip uh we’ve already had an 11-day road trip um the travel has been tough um some of the um the backto backs and you know even just the other night from Atlanta getting home at 3:00 a.m. uh um so I would have lik to practice but I I think you do have to look for these opportunities and they’re very rare to give your guys two days two days off um Tuesday it’s not mandatory but you know we be sort of a recovery get what you need day um for for guys that need it but Heck if somebody wants to go spend a couple nights in Santa Barbara and relax that’s fine too you know it’s it’s um it’s quarter way through the season uh for the coaching staff you know we’ve already already started doing some internal auditing um some comparisons between you know first 14 games really offensively first 15 games and and what we’ve done the previous or the previous nine going into tonight um just trying to figure out what works what doesn’t and um you know some of the some of the red stuff we need to audit and figure out what what switching groups we want to have and type of teams are hurting the red welcome back to Lakers news Squad today we’re diving into a hot NBA rumor that has fans buzzing could LeBron James revisit a trade to the Golden State Warriors ESPN’s Brian windhorse recently reported that some teams are speculating whether LeBron might reconsider joining forces with Steven curry in Golden State but how realistic is this scenario is there even a remote chance it could happen let’s break it all down but before we dive in make sure to like this video subscribe and turn on notifications so you don’t miss any Lakers updates now let’s get into it the rumor Warriors still interested in Lebron according to Brian windhorst NBA insiders have been discussing whether LeBron James might entertain a move to the Warriors later this season apparently Golden State already tried acquiring LeBron at last year’s trade deadline but he declined their offer and chose to resign with the Lakers over the summer I’d be lying if I said that there haven’t been some conversations in the league about would LeBron at some point this year revisit that because you remember last year at the trade deadline the Warriors called so even though the Warriors made a push last season LeBron made it clear he was committed to the Lakers at the time but could things be different now why a trade would be difficult while the idea of LeBron and Curry teaming up sounds like a basketball Fan’s dream windhorse quickly pointed out how complicated such a trade would be luxury tax rules both the Lakers and Warriors are deep into the luxury tax meaning any trade would have to match salaries perfectly no trade clause LeBron also has a no trade clause giving him complete control over where he goes or if he leaves at all draft picks the Lakers don’t own their first round pick as it’s unprotected and goes to Atlanta this limits what the Lakers can gain in return for LeBron wior summed it up perfectly any trade the Warriors make is going to be complicated the Lakers aren’t allowed to take on on more money LeBron has a no trade clause there’s really nothing to talk about why Lebron likely stays in La let’s be real LeBron James loves being in Los Angeles he has business Investments Media Ventures and most importantly Family Ties his son bronny James is playing college basketball in Southern California and LeBron has been very open about wanting to play alongside Bron before retiring also throughout his entire career every time LeBron has switched teams it’s been on his terms he’s never been traded by a franchise and likely doesn’t want that on his resume could it happen if and this is a big if the Warriors came calling again there’s no doubt LeBron would at least listen imagine LeBron James and Steven Curry as teammates a duo we thought we’d only see in all Allstar games the winning window would be tiny given their ages but it would be one of the greatest storylines in NBA history two of The Game’s biggest Rivals joining forces for one final championship run that’s the stuff basketball Legends are made of at the end of the day this trade feels like fantasy basketball more than anything real the logistics seem impossible and LeBron’s loyalty to the Lakers both on and off the Court makes it highly unlikely but what do you think would you want to see LeBron James team up with Steven curry in Golden State or should LeBron finish his career as a Laker building his legacy in Los Angeles let us know your thoughts in the comments below and if
