The Lethbridge Hurricanes play the final of a four-game homestand tonight at 7:00pm as they welcome the Red Deer Rebels to the VisitLethbridge.com Arena in the first of a three-in-three weekend.
The Hurricanes (15-10-1-1) enter on a three-game winning streak after earning a 2-1 win against the Saskatoon Blades on Wednesday. Miguel Marques and Chase Petersen scored in the win while Jackson Unger made 17-saves. Lethbridge enters with an 11-2-1-0 record on home ice this season sitting second in the WHL in home victories.
The Rebels (14-12-1-2) enter on a two-game losing streak after suffering a 3-0 shutout loss on Saturday in Swift Current against the Broncos. The Rebels were outshot 45-30 in the contest as Chase Wutzke made 42-saves in the defeat. It marked the fourth shutout loss of the season for Red Deer and their third in the last nine games. Red Deer enters with a 5-10-0-2 record on the road this season.
Tonight will be the fourth of eight meetings on the season between the Hurricanes and Rebels; Lethbridge has posted a 2-1-0-0 record against Red Deer this season having posted a 1-0-0-0 record at home in the season series. [Music] the Left Bridge hurricanes will finish a four-game home stand tonight as they welcome the Red Deer Rebels at 7:00 at the visit Lethbridge decom Arena the Hurricanes entering on a three-game winning streak sitting 112 and one on home ice 15101 and one on the season and they know they’re going to have to bring a physical effort tonight uh yeah one of one of the harder teams to compete with for sure in the league uh I think definitely being at home it’s it’s a good opportunity for us to do the same and be physical for them and and try to make it tough on them too yeah they’re strong team um they play hard and it’s a divisional rivalry game and um you know you look at their roster lately and they’ve had some um you know some bodies out of the lineup that are are key for them that we expect maybe to be back tonight that’ll help them and um really good Center depth they’re good in the dot we got to be ready for with our face off details especially on the power play um and good goal tending we throw pucks to the net and have traffic there and and I think that’s something that we can adjust from our last game versus Saskatoon is just when we put pucks towards the that let’s have some bodies there ready to crash and bang and and hopefully luck comes on our side tonight yeah we know how how hard they like to play and and uh what they’re their type of game is so um we got to come out prepared we’re missing a few guys but that’s all right so um come out prepared like I said and and uh play harder than them it’s the fourth of eight meetings on the season between Lethbridge and Red Deer the hurricane so far this year 2- one against the rebels 1-0 at home hurricanes entering on a three-game winning streak the Rebels on a two-game losing streak they sit 1412 1-2 on the season it’s the first of a three and three weekend for the Hurricanes to go into the Christmas break doors open at 6 o’cl puck drop at 7 from the visit Lethbridge decom Arena
