hey what’s up guys I just picked up a Monumental card and there’s a problem with the patch so I’m going to show a picture of this to you here so as you can see let me tell you first of all what this is what we’re looking at it’s a 2003 Topps tribute World Series Pastime patches card it is numbered out 15 um and it is Jose Cano’s first patch card from tops first ever tops patch card which I think is pretty darn special um the problem with this obviously is tops did not put in the patch properly so uh there’s this white sliver that you can see behind the patch that’s not covered that’s uh that’s showing straight through the through the um Relic hole um got the card in yesterday I believe and I’ll tell you the one that I have first of all let me show you this uh and this is the uh version that’s got like a yellow patch now first of all like I said out of 15 um so and I’ve seen I believe about seven or eight of them and they are dropped at gorgeous cards now normally I like crazy patches like you know like uh you know little swoops of green and gold and white and all that sort of thing the solid pieces they work for two reasons number one uh because as far as I know every single card that tops did for the set for Jose is either green or gold and that’s it no variation whatsoever um for another thing I don’t have any other patches that are just like solid colors um so anyways I think it’s really classy looking I think it looks really nice now um I thought that the green would go really well with it so what I did I’ll show you this card here also because I was able to actually fix it and I’ll tell you how um here is uh let me pull up the picture again first so you could see so you see the Gap there really kind of kind of bad well here it is now there’s no Gap showing whatsoever um and the way that I did it which was really cool um I actually took heat gun so I pulled out the the card and I heated up the back right behind The Relic and I put my thumb on The Relic itself and I pushed up just a little bit and I didn’t know if it was going to work or not but to my surprise it did it filled up the hole nicely um I really really really love how it turned out I was so unreasonably happy when I did that you guys like so happy that the card is now how it should be and now uh the total the the the pair of these together to me are way cooler in my opinion than just having one or the other um I like it so much more like this like it just it feels like it’s uh completes a story somehow I don’t know how or why um but there they are so I guess you can say I have over 10% of the print run now um but anyway so so that’s my suggestion or my recommendation to try if if you’ve run into this where you have like a patch Gap or something um a couple warnings number one uh don’t apply the heat too much because you could have the card Bubble Up you could have uh heat really damage the front or the back of the card and you don’t want that so what I did was I just had it heat up just for a few seconds you know with the heat gun kind of like a blow dryer you could probably use a blow dryer too um if you want to try that and um you know sure enough I just like I said I put my thumb on it and just pushed up a little bit um you just got to be careful of course you don’t want to damage the card and uh a big no no you don’t ever want to take out the patch I don’t think you can on these without damaging them anyways but guys don’t take the patches out of these that’s uh that’s fraud if you’re going to be uh um replacing patches and stuff don’t do it don’t do it don’t do it um but nudging up the existing patch a little bit good to go on that very happy with how that worked out very happy with um how it turned out and I’m very happy with how they look together so hope this helps you guys thanks for watching as always I hope you have a great day
