good morning everybody and happy Thursday welcome back to the Penguins and five podcast I’m your host the machine TV and today we are back discussing more of what happened with our Pittsburgh Penguins in the uh day off between the ab solute uh Avalanche that happened in uh Pittsburgh on on Tuesday night uh now we’re looking forward to getting into tomorrow night or tonight’s game excuse me I’m recording this tonight before but tonight’s game as you are watching this and listening to this against the Canadians in Montreal looking forward to that game we’ll get to it here very shortly um but something I want to touch on is couple days ago we posted a video and it was fghi M rumors yes if you watch to the end or listen to the end wherever you’re listening to it make sure you’re dropping a five star review and following appreciate it it helps the podcast very much but wherever you’re listening to it at I did say and did post that’s not clickbait that aenny Malin has been part of talks with trades to Dallas now I consider those talks exactly what I called them rumors I don’t think agh malan’s going to go anywhere um could Dallas be interested yeah could they be tampering kind of like um they’re saying New York and is doing with with kachuck possibly is it going to be as blown out of proportion no because the Penguins just want to win right now because it’s we’re an up and down we’re an up and down team and they want to improve uh so not only do I think scoring did improve over that four game win streak and then in the game against Toronto over this past weekend um I still think we need more help and that’s where I’m going to bring up the fact that as of I believe two hours ago it has been noted that Philip Hollander former penguin played on the AHL uh baby penguins has been offered a contract to come back to North America to play hockey for uh what I can only assume is an AHL contract work his way up um I personally do not know a whole lot on Philip Hollander but I can only assume by everyone saying you know um looking right now at the penguin subreddit he has improved in the shl this is coming from the slatcher um last spring Swiss team Davos offered him a monster contract and he declined to stay in Tamra and so far in 24 games he’s put up 27 points third best in the league um and his coach is saying that he should be in the NHL he should not be in the uh shl so that is very good and a lot of people seem to um really like him from when he was in wilberry so I’d be interested to see if he does take that to come back um back to Pittsburgh in the end um I also think that the Neil’s hoglander trade is just a matter of time and then it’ll happen with losing probably Marcus Pon which we have also touched on over the past couple of days um but I think we need to all sit and realize that the big glaring issues on this team is defensively and I’m going to steal something from the penguin subed as well is uh goal tenders are like a box of chocolates you never know what you’re going to get and that’s the truth with this this penguin Squad is no matter who it is whether it’s NAD delovic whether it’s jari the only consistent goenda when he was up from the baby penguins and I’d be really happy to see him come up and be our our goto um do I think it’ll hurt losing someone like jari he’s one with us so yeah it would kind of hurt but at the same time cut the cap space try to get him out on a trade he’d probably be a really good backup on a contending team that has a shaky backup um that’s my opinion on that but my also other opinion is I think I think we need defensive help and I don’t think or dubis are doing anything about that and it’s almost seeming like they’re refusing to because the the the keys to success are there but it seems like they’re almost avoiding it let’s compete let’s you know build the farm let’s compete let’s build the farm that’s got to take a toll on the locker room right all these guys in and out of the lineup just because someone probably looked at Sully the wrong way that morning I don’t know I’m not in that locker room with them to be a fly on the wall in that room would be that would be uh that’d be interesting truthfully um I I I I don’t know if there is an immediate if there is an immediate fix to the defensive problems um because I think losing Pon is going to be a huge step back and I know yesterday we or yeah yesterday we talked about one step forward two steps back I think it’s another case scenario where that happens um losing pson so so I think it could be good to get hog glander someone to score um more young younger players yeah absolutely um does that hurt us short term yeah absolutely because Pon is one of our one of our only Defenders besides and honestly I’m curious to what you think but I I personally feel he’s one of our more solid Defenders other than uh St ivany and Ryan um grizzli sucks Graves is terrible Carlson wants to play center L Tang gives up I love the team I love the guys I do I love our our our big four or big three plus Carlson whatever you want to call it but there’s a lot of lack of effort out there that has been happening um something I also wanted to touch on today was there’s been a few articles put out whether it’s from Athlon sports or um I think I saw something from ESPN on it Pittsburgh hockey put it out he always post from the stadium about how it was a salty locker room and a soft performance and Sid was not happy that the crowd at PPG was booing them on a power play um I hate to say it but when you go 0 for four on a power play and you’re down 4 to two at the time maybe 3 to2 at the time I think the fans deserve to let you have it um do I think it was as bad as some other games that they’ve played this year this season no but going from what they were in the previous what was it five out of six four out of five thought they won no it would have been five out of six I mean it’s just it’s one of those things that I I think I think they need to feel the pressure from more more than just the coaches and the internal they need to know that the the the fan base us pen pens fans are frustrated because it’s aggravating to watch them get these power play opportunities and do nothing with them because they are better with the main advantage and they were last season but it’s just not enough when you’re going 0 for four Peak the penalty kill unit’s been doing great but you got to score with the man Advantage today’s game against Montreal kicks off 700 p.m. Eastern Standard Time and I think we’re going to see probably jari in the net if you ask me I don’t know it does look like they were practicing today yesterday at the time of watching this using the same lineup that they used in the last two periods of the ABS law Lo um I think the keys to Victory are going to be get to a hot start and um just protect the puck so that that’s truthfully what I I’m I’m going to say is it’s going to be get off to a hot start protect the puck score on a power play power play conversion those are my three things I think if they protect p if they they convert on the power play and get off to a hot start I think it is a Pens win in Montreal dos hasn’t scored in 24 25 games now so tonight I think he’s going to get on the score sheet against a Montreal team that personally I think is a little of r especially with Lane Hudson I mean obviously they’re still not a top team but I think Lane Hudson’s a little overrated for the sample size we have of him so um it’s really it’s really where I stand for this I my keys to Victory as I said I think they go that way and it is a positive for the Penguins we walk out of Montreal and head to Ottawa with a two-point party but but I hope
