surprised this one’s not just at Provo but I guess uh I don’t know a little extra spectacle here BYU 7 and2 hoping they get jagor demon back we’ll see Wyoming five and four coming off three consecutive losses however there’s a world here where Wyoming season looks a whole lot different right now they’ve lost three games in a row by a combined seven points three-point loss to Loyola marmount three-point loss on the road at Utah State who’s 50th on kenpom and then a onepoint loss on the road at South Dakota that’s a bad one but uh I have no idea how good or bad Wyoming is because they’ve been in every single game they’ve played for the most part other than a blowout loss at Texas Tech and their record doesn’t really show you that you know why they’re in it though G why are they in it uh you are you on kenpom right now I am on kenpom right now have Pete that average possession length ah this team is slow ah but they look defensive average possession length damn yeah huh okay so they’re trying to they’re trying to get you to speed up go fast and then make you play defense for 35 seconds damn near kind 30 seconds I okay as I’m looking at this Gregory I might say like this profile you like it against BYU or you like the profile in general I like the profile in general for a team that’s not as good okay it is a little like against BYU BYU will run and take quick shots so could you frustrate a BYU team by letting them run and take quick shots rebounding and then just draining clock offensively right like I close my eyes after I see that and I see like oh quick shots by Canon Catchings they’re not going in and then you’re playing defense for the whole possession y would that said be why you should win this game that’s exactly what Wyoming did to frustrate Utah State by the way so it’s interesting Utah state is four spots higher like lower I mean sorry like behind four spots behind BYU on kenpong that’s probably not the greatest thing for BYU but like BYU and Utah State pretty similar caliber teams right now uh Utah State almost lost at home to Wyoming and that was the lowest possession game of the season that Wyoming has played so they slowed it down even more than usual it was a 60 possession game that’s pretty impressive number one and if you go through it Utah State shot 29% from three in that game just kind of like I think the recipe there right just frustrate the hell out of them um this is a game if they don’t have Jor demon I’m scared for BYU in this game you feel me on that like I just have they’re too talented if they don’t I’m a little worried about it yeah no I’m I’m with you on that I think this is a game they need him back um because I think that if they are going to if they are going to take their time on offense and play slow I think there needs to be a semblance of offensive just like continuity and precise and togetherness and I feel like jagor is the connector to all that like gor running the show making sure every you know getting the shots he wants getting the shots for others making sure you value the ball value possessions I think is where I would like jagor in that spot yeah there’s a lot of things stylistically that uh intrigue me with this one because defensively part of Wyoming’s whole plan and why they make teams or uh maybe not why but like teams get quick shots against them they don’t get a lot of Threes though like Wyoming’s defense takes away the three-point line so maybe it’s like just to run them off in the help side is not great um to me BYU BYU shoots so many threes which is interesting because they’re a very good team inside and they’re not the greatest shooting team in the world at least they are making them this year so you know 35% I shouldn’t say they’re not making them but they’re better from two-point range they’re the 20th best two-point percentage offense in the sport 100th best three-point offense in the sport I don’t know like is BYU gonna Force threes against the defense takes away threes or if they just take the easy thing like hit the single right P can go get a layup against Wyoming I trust BYU here but I also think that’s a lot easier to do when you have your 69ine point guard out there instead of D Hall right and and and you would assume Joor is gonna be back in this game I don’t see why he wouldn’t I hope so I see reasons why he might not but what are the reasons I’d rather not say will AJ Deans be there uh I don’t know it is in Utah I need to I feel like they just if he’s not getting the key to the city that day then maybe he’ll be there if Danny a wants him there he’ll be there Danny a wants him there he’ll be there Danny a wants to pay AJ Deans to be here AJ Deans will certainly be here alltime bad getter special special um are you worried at all that this is a look ahead spot for BYU knowing that they’ve got Florida A&M at home in a week I mean the Rattlers are are tough with Shakir O’Neal on the team they definitely need to be careful with that um 347th best team in the country on campon Florida A&M that’s a that’s a quality opponent for BYU compared to the rest of their schedule I was GNA say honestly be honestly Wyoming at 195 is gotta be amongst their top five toughest games this is the fifth toughest game they’ve played this season cart they are they are two and two in their other games come on man deer though no hypotheticals no hypotheticals at all deer remember de de anybody Personnel wise on Wyoming that BYU fan should uh Circle uh Obi agam that’s their guy Esther guy 63 average like 18 a game uh he had some good games he turned the ball over a lot against Texas Tech but a good Texas Tech defense he was able to have a pretty good game offensively outside of the turnovers I think he had like six of them but um he’s a guy he can knock down the three he’s pretty efficient from the field um he’s had some big games this year he’s a he’s definitely a good player he rocked against Utah state 17 points 10 assists five rebounds just one turnover 10 assists to one turnover in that game in 37 minutes so uh yeah I I do think he’s a dangerous man very dangerous individual do think there’s a world where he’s the best guard in this game that world probably includes yoron not playing but um wouldn’t be surprised given what he did against Utah State and how he’s pretty good against Texas Tech too kind of expecting a good version of him to show up against uh I don’t know who who BYU will guard him with like perimeter defense is a little bit of a concern for me with BYU because jagor I don’t think is usually out there guarding point guards so I mean you saw what you saw what those you know the the guards of Old Miss were able to do against them right yep it’s a concern it’s scary we I don’t know if he has one that day or not okay um I’ll give my formal prediction I think jagor does not play get well jagor but I I don’t think jagor plays and if jagor does not play I have Wyoming winning this game if jagor doesn’t play Wyoming wins the game if Joor plays I have BYU winning and covering oh wow if Joor does not play I have Wyoming winning this game here’s why I think Wyoming has actually basically earned like they should have won at least one if not two of the last three games they really impressed me against Utah State we talked about all the reasons profile wise this is a scary game for BYU Wyoming’s exact formula of what they want to do is something I think BYU without jagor can fall into the Trap of just like Utah state did uh you BYU let’s be real is extremely fortunate right now like I mean they’ve dropped 25 spots in Kemp pom since the start of the season and perception wise nobody’s really talking about it there’s all this Buzz with de bansa this feels very like like this program is just due for a let down spot to me and if it was at home in the Marriott spot in Provo I would I would not ever pick this but this is not at home this is a quote unquote neutral sight game and it’s a scary matchup and if your best player’s not there uh everybody played great without jagor last game MH they’re not all going to play great without again so yeah I’d agree
