versus a bottom 40 team on kenpom I’m Connor he’s Dion with sleepers media uh Dion Arkansas has been up and down pretty much all year uh tale of bad first halves good second halves we had that kind of again um against Michigan they take on a central Arkansas team that has won exactly one division one game this season against UNC Asheville in double overtime at home what what are what do you need to see from this Arkansas Team because I’m F on record of being like cautiously optimistic about them but it’s getting tougher and tougher until this Michigan game to really buy into this Arkansas Team uh first off I just want to say I love that their neutral side is just like North Little Rock it’s just not a neutral side game but they’re like yeah here you go it’s that I mean that’s that’s the most caliper thing I’ve ever seen life U obviously like we’re all in a group chat like all the people that do previews and Recaps everyone knows I love boogie fland in that group chat I love Boogie fland I don’t know if there’s anything I need to see from them I think I’m just I think I’m a little too optimistic I probably it’ll probably benefit me to see less so I can be cautiously optimistic once again about this team um but the way Boogie fans played since the Miami game I mean I think I think guards win games uh in college basketball in basketball in general guards win but like in college basketball most specifically like we’ve seen the dominant dominance of big man the last few years and when they run into guards that’s when they lose for the most part um and Boogie flance to’s one of the best guards in the country I think we’re talking about a guy that needs to be much closer to that top five pick consideration in the NBA draft he’s in that realm to me and I I mean just watch watching the way he took that Michigan game over man was special yeah he he has played uh 10 games in college basketball seven of those games he’s had six or more assists uh you’d like to see in the last two games he’s kind of cut down on the unforced or last three games he’s kind of cut down on the unforced turnovers um I I agree with you I think Boogie fland has been special in that Miami game it became give it to Boogie and let him do him and that work worked which is not something you necessarily see out of a lot of freshman guards in game 10 of their college careers uh and then against Michigan DJ Wagner like exploded and said this is why I was the recruit I was uh went five or seven of 12 in that game five assists to just two turnovers had three boards um really I think his explosion late in that second half helped Stave off M uh Michigan from from coming back here’s my issue with Arkansas is that we’ve seen Arkansas and I’m not going to throw well I’ll throw UTSA under the bus we’ve seen them play UTSA Maryland Eastern Shore Little Rock Pacific Troy and Maryland Eastern Shore was the only game where they put together two complete halves of like top 40 basketball I think in this Central Arkansas game it has to be two complete halves because you have these three games Central Arkansas North Carolina &t Oakland where you can if you can get through those playing six complete halves of basketball and then you go on the road against Tennessee you’re feeling a lot better than if it’s another one of those Central Arkansas is hanging around in the first half like this Central Arkansas team’s not good so don’t let them hang around like the there’s we can get into predictions in a in a second but there is a it’s 22 points is the Ken pom spread which like that’s low yeah for this game and when you’ve got fland and you’ve got Wagner and you’ve got Tio who’s been playing pretty well and John El Davis is starting to come along uh that’s just like if it’s a 20po win for Arkansas if it’s like 10 points in each half you’re probably going okay like they probably just hook their their opponent with a little bit of disrespect and like didn’t take them seriously enough maybe but if you’re talking about an Arkansas Team that’s going into the second half like up three up four I don’t know what to do with them at that point that’s my issue is that it’s it’s not that they’re not good they’ve shown that they’re a good basketball team it’s that they make unforced errors and they it seems like they take first halfes off in every single game they play yeah I was going to say like for me what I’ve noticed the last three games that they they have their closing strategy so to close a game Wagner uh Boogie flam pick and roll like obviously one of them as the ball hander uh Tiaro um Travon Brazil Adu um screener and you can run any combination of that and I don’t think anyone can stop I don’t think anybody can stop a boogie flam pick I could be the screener and I think Boogie Flan’s getting somebody a good look um Wagner needs a little bit more but boo I mean boogie flann in the pick and roll like he looks like a legit Pro when he’s running that um so I think to close games you know what you’re going to do and you’re going to get good looks and some games they’ll go in some games they won’t that’s basketball um I’m looking more so like I’m okay if they don’t cover the spread if they’re up by 20 and then they come out the second half they’re like like we already proved our Point like we can chill um but like you said if they’re only have three in the first half and then they have to run my Boogie FL Pig and roll to beat Central Arkansas I’m like whoa okay you know what I mean like I would prefer they don’t have to do that stuff save that for Tennessee yeah I I just it’s for me because I was probably other than maybe you like the most Pro Arkansas in these previews and then it’s just every single time they come out there it’s another it’s another excuse and I just don’t think you can have that especially with SEC play looming three games away like you you have to be now is the time where you have to kind of just lace up the the sneakers and and go for it and just and just beat these next three teams to a pulp so that you’re heading into SEC play with two losses on a on a pretty decent like big win winning streak um and then you take on the toughest conference in in college basketball so you know I I might be overreacting because of how much I believed in this team but for me like that really is the story of Arkansas that’s why people don’t have their doubts about Arkansas is because they just come out so flat in all of these games yeah I mean they look like they look like they’re playing for money not for Pride sometimes which they are by the way like oh for sure I mean but even when you’re playing for money like you have to you have to you know actually play right like you can’t they the the uh I mean it’s a it’s a deeper different conversation but I think there’s a professionalism issue within college basketball you’re now being paid by professionals you also have to behave like it too and whether it’s John L Davis or uh some of the Kansas State dudes I don’t think everybody’s behaving like a professional at the moment despite being paid like one yeah no that’s that is a that is a great great a great Point um I think people are are starting to make that across the sport like and that’s why you’ve got all these fifth year senior guards who look like they’ve never been a top player in college basketball before uh so uh at the time of this recording diers Pro does not have a game prediction they should have one up later today Friday um for this game as was mentioned kenpom has this as a 20 point 22o win 8 to 60 uh if I’m Arkansas I want this to be like 90 to 63 like that’s what I want I want like a 27p point win where I win both with both halves comfortably by double digits um I might want to push it to 30 at some point in this game but like allow my bench to come on the floor at the end of the game that’s what I want right uh based on what I’ve seen I’ll go like slightly less I think they struggle but they hit 25 like they struggle to get to 25 but they hit 25 I’ll go like 85 to 60 I think they cover I don’t think we’re going to see anything out of them we haven’t already um like I think I think they could I think they might win this game like 70 somewhere between 70 and 80 to like 4550 I don’t think central Arkansas is going to be able to score um a ton like I If there’s one thing about Arkansas that’s going to travel is they’re super athletic uh and defensively like I think they have another gear that they can get to defensively than they’ve shown us um I’m very concerned about the offense long term like I said I think they they have their way to close games with Boogie but how do you get to that point um concerns me I don’t know if we’re going to see a difference in that so I’m kind of like on the same page as you I do think they cover but I think it looks similar to how it’s looked like so far this season and obviously uh the two of us will be here after the game uh to discuss everything that happens hopefully it’s a a clearcut clean dominant Victory by Arkansas because if it’s not then we’re going to continue to have these
