questions right away you had some opportunities first half didn’t and then one in the four quarter yeah we had we had too many penalties you know throughout the game big ones you obviously we would had that drive in the Red Zone we um you know both teams are kind of getting after they called on us we get backed out you know unfortunately um you know that could have been a touchdown drive for us and then we came out in the second half you know and um and we had the fle flick play which is a great play great great job by the line um great job by Jaylen getting it to me and then uh Calvin made a great catch drive and then just unfortunately didn’t go our way there um we turned it over there and and the Red Zone the fumble but you know we we um you know the second half we didn’t we didn’t we didn’t capitalize on on our moments obviously only had two possessions and um that first possession coming out would have made it a tie game you know with with with all the negative stuff we did you know so I thought the first half we had way too many third and Longs you know you’re third and 18 third and 18 I think we third and 22 on the last drive you know um you know it’s just you know it’s hard to start to play winning football that way posession likees that make possession yeah for sure I mean that’s why we were aggressive on the fle flicker I thought that was a good call by Arthur um great great catch once again I you know we just you know unfortunately we we uh we the game was in Striking Distance and when it was we didn’t get to we didn’t get to finish the game the way we needed to and make make plays when we needed to what made it so tough to run the ball today and how much did that impact were you guys weren’t able to do yeah we we weren’t successful in first and second down I mean that’s why we had so many third and Longs um we got to be successful in first and second down to get positive plays and um you know they did a good job there’s good football team you know and um you know we we got to we got to tip our hats to them they play way better than us tonight um it’s unacceptable how we play I think we feel like we got to be sharper um you know and so we just got to stay the course and and know that obviously we got a big week coming up we got to respond we got to get ready to go and that’s where our Focus has to be did you also feel like there was a missed opportunity at the end of the first half that two-minute throw was yeah you know we we we we thought we could get a touchdown BOS did a great job making the field goal for us um you know that could have been a good thing too for us and uh you know I think that you know obviously Calvin did a good job on the third third and long get you know making the field goal range I believe it was second and long third and long and um you know so um you know I think the biggest thing is is that I thought Pat played a great game made some plays for us you know obviously down in the Red Zone his touchdown catch was great tried to put it up for him he made a great play there’s some there’s some positives but not not not enough of them and uh you know and so we have to uh look at the film see what we can do better there’s a lot more there um you know and like I said I think it’s a very simplistic game I I think in the sense that you know if we’re successful on first and second down gives us a chance to have third and shorts and that’s why we we we converted and scored a touchdown that that drive you know we had um you had a couple third and threes third and two third and one I think even you know and so that’s how we got to play the game you know especially when it’s a good football team it seems like there’s always debate with the seers are you guys just a good team or a great team you already was the best team you guys played this year just how far away do you think you guys are to making that te that you guys are a great te yeah I mean I think um you know we have to be able to you know we’ll have to determine how great we can be you know there’s a lot more football left and I think we have we have the right guys I think that the biggest thing is is that um I think any great team has to respond you know you know you’re going to have adversity you’re going to have ups and downs throughout the season I’ve been on great teams before you know sometimes you don’t want them all um you know and um I thought the biggest thing is is that you know for us you know when when the game’s in Striking Distance we got to we got to tie it up we got to make the plays we got to find a way um and unfortunately we didn’t do that tonight we’ve done that all year though um that’s been a good thing for us so um you know uh we can’t Flinch we got to get better you know and we got to be cleaner you know for this week obviously going on the road second game without George pick where are you guys feeling his absence most it’s most if it lingers in the next week what do you have to do to overcome that George is doing everything he can to get back obviously he’s tremendous competitor we got guys that we trust obviously trust Calvin I trust van I trust Scotty I trust Big Mike I trust MTH all those guys you know so it’s um obviously he’s one of the world’s best you know obviously having George Pickins out there on the field is a good thing for the Pittsburgh Steelers but um either way we still have to respond and and find ways to to make plays I I think the the storyline in this game early is just simply first and second down we weren’t good enough and third down we just you know when you’re playing a championship caliber football team you can’t be third and 18 you know so we that’s where we can fix that you know I think that we can and and we will and uh you know we’re going against another really good football team next week so we got to respond with results of other games you guys clinch the playoff spot what’s your reaction to just being in the post season um you know it’s a great thing for us that’s our expectation but we want to win this division that’s our goal you know is to that’s our first goal you know is to win the division um we have a lot of respect for this division the teams coaches and the players in this division um and um you at the same time we we got to go take it we got to go take it we got to go find a way on the road um in Baltimore um which we know it’s going to be a great football game you know and uh I think the biggest thing is is just we got to do whatever it takes to win and that’s really it’s really all that matters is finding ways to win especially in in in in in high level competition talk about the challenge the next 10 days lot of football coming off R yeah I mean I I think you know when we get to the playoffs sometimes you play you know you may play on a Sunday then you may play on a Saturday it’s just you know um I think the biggest thing for us our our practices set the tone for that I think that we we prepare the right way um obviously I think the biggest thing for us is not you know um not not looking at the days just looking at the opportunity you know and not worrying about that part of it we’ll be ready to go we’ll make sure that you know you know we we get U healed up healthy as possible and and then at the same time Mak sure that we have a great game plan to go with capitalize those first second Downs was it something that they were doing that you guys weren’t successful or was it kind of just an execution uh they just played better than us in those situations honestly um you know they made tackles they made plays they you know they played good football tonight um like I said you know got you know you got to give respect when it’s due you know they they did they did better than us tonight um and I I think the biggest thing is is that um you know we got to clean that up we got to tighten that up and like I said we when you’re playing a really good football team you can’t hurt yourself you know we hurt ourselves too much tonight with the penalties and and um you know and it a game that you know they they turned the ball over a couple times we got to capitalize them we can’t turn it over either and you know and we know that and uh you know we’re going to respond I think the great thing is we got the right character guys you know if anybody believes I believe I believe you know in who we have and the guys that we have the temperament the character the the work ethic um you know and um you know we we shot ourselves in the foot too much uh today in Key situations to to tie the game up or take the lead or whatever it may have been so um you know that that’s that’s where that game was lost I felt like more two more guys the ball that um the pitch that Nai fumble was that a play that you changed at the line of scrimmage say one more time the fumble that Naji had was that a play that you changed at the line of spr no that was a play we had going on you know we we uh it just unfortunately didn’t work out last one anyone thanks all right thank you guys appreciate it far away ceras Way Russ put was it was just unacceptable the way you guys play today how would you evaluate today’s performance um you know I think we didn’t get off the field enough on defense uh offensive wise uh not enough points um you know um you know Miss plays for Splash uh on all sides of the ball I thought our special teams played really well um you know two what one turnover and um you know I thought they they played really well but defense and offense um below the line um you know can’t out can you know we got to learn from it we don’t we’re not afforded a lot of time so um you know we got to have a a memory like a a goldfish uh it’s got to be got to move on um and not to say that we we don’t respect who we just played but uh the clock is ticking um and guys got to get right we got to learn from our mistakes um and move on cam what was happen [Music] on yeah I think we didn’t do a good job of tackling um especially on the edge um you know we can get them in third and uh we didn’t take advantage of that um you know we talk about Plastering I thought a couple times they were able to you know sustain driv by uh Mobil QB Mobility but um you know we had to do a better job of uh finishing those plays on the defensive side of the ball which we didn’t did you talk to TJ do you think there’s any chance don’t play against both we’ll see um you know fingers crossed um you know Steeler Faithful Is hopefully he recovers fast um but you know um if he’s not able to go uh I like to think we’re well equipped to you know get these guys right and you know going to the lines then and you know the Baltimore Ravens see him go down and um you know we’ve been bit by the injury bug before um but um you feel bad for a guy that works his tail off um but you know hopefully I think we’ll get them back soon but you know I’m not a doctor so we’ll see what happens do a matter C take any amount of satisfaction you guys play um good job uh but uh you know there’s bigger fish to fry um we’re not just trying to squeeze into the playoffs but uh you know it’s nice to know that we don’t have to wait till week 18 to figure out if we’re in the playoffs or not um um you know we have a we have a playoff team we’ve done that before this game um we played a quality playoff opponent um didn’t have our best showing but uh there’s a lot of ball in front of us now we’re guaranteed five or what what’s our record now 10 and four so we’re guaranteed four games um you know and then we got three on the regular and then one in the playoffs but uh I like to get this thing going the right way now that you played the Eagles keep talk about the challenge of having to stop Barkley Brown Smith and whether the concentration of stopping Barkley affected their passing game you know I think um there’s a lot of yak you know there was a lot of times where um you know I thought we were able to stop the run but um you give guys like AJ Brown space you give guys like Devonte Smith space space and so um you know playing defense is a 11 man job um and um you you know you can’t stop one and think the other 10 are just going to follow you got to stop all 11 um and uh hopefully it’s a great lesson for us where we learn and you know come back better because of it you just saying that the way to get through a loss like this is by leaning on having a mature team to shut no out how much is that something that you guys rely on this week as veterans to kind of maybe just circle the wagons or at least keep everybody closed from listening to outside noise there’s no reason to circle the wagons I think it’s it’s just we got AFC North championship ball in front of us um we we’re not going to run from that um you know we knew we were walking into you know some tough games ahead but um we are not afforded a lot of time to feel sorry for ourselves we have a chance to um play a MVP MVP caliber team with you know Lamar Jackson and um Derrik Henry so um that team is really good um and um with this quick turnaround um you know it’s not circling wagons it’s you know let’s get it together because we got to get going um not a lot of time is afforded to us K the last few times you’ve been been a six or seven seed what does it mean to have a chance to win the AFC nor next we um you know I think it just means we took advantage of our opportunities early um you know a lot of times uh we needed a lot of stuff to go our way um you know I I think it was this team had to win this team had to win and down the list we had to work our way towards that um I said this before we’re not trying to sneak into the playoffs we’re trying to you know be one be one of the teams that you better be ready to play because you know we’re heating up at the right time so um hopefully this is our last loss but you know we got work to do anything else thanks thank you
