Matt Cook didn’t practice with the conu today in Ottawa he continues to arrest his sore shoulder and Nathan Smith was sent back down to man Manitoba other than that the Canuck spent today doing two things getting ready for Thursday’s encounter with the Senators and savoring last night’s oo important victory in Montreal that win snapped the conu five-game road losing streak and it was easily the team’s best effort in a couple of weeks as always Dan Murphy traveling with the Canucks and Dan files this report from the nation’s capital it was a game that Canucks got everything they needed to get a good start a goal from the slumping power play a huge effort by the big line and most importantly a road Victory their first in six tries yeah it was uh nice to get uh to get the win especially uh the way things have been uh going on the road so uh and it’s nice to see our team uh score five goals too it it had been a while so uh we’re happy with the way we played defensively offensively in all areas of the game yes the way we played defensively we didn’t let up a lot of scoring chances uh um like I said we we we know we’re going to score three or four goals every game uh so that was a big concern for us after a 2-hour bus ride from Montreal to Ottawa the Canucks practiced at the Carell Center Wednesday morning preparing for the Senators a team Vancouver has only beaten once in their last seven trips to the nation’s capital they have lots of Firepower on their team and uh quick guys host a havet um bong’s playing well I mean go down their list they got some guys that can really hurt you so I I think we got to play the same way we played in Montreal come out strong and try to maintain that throughout the whole game well you look through their lineup they got a lot of talented players and you can’t underestimate anyone especially aoto with uh with what they’ve done in the past and they’re still a good team obviously team’s going to rut and and uh looking for ways to get out fact mcgil played the next three games but the pain got worse and worse until he just couldn’t bear it anymore he’s not a um a guy that would pull himself unless he was hurting so with with it happening that earlier we needed to get an opinion on whether we delay this or what we can do uh uh to help him through that pain threshold on a positive note the Leafs are hopeful Joe new andik will they in fact will be the favorites which means Casey Steels team will now have the challenge of doing something his last two teams couldn’t do win a champ Championship that they are expected to win these kids have really taken that upon themselves that you know they they’ve only won they really haven’t won anything they’re in a Provincial Championship but the goal is to win at all we’re still we we we know we’re going to score three or four goals every game uh so that was a big concern for us after a 2-hour bus ride from Montreal to Ottawa the Canucks practiced at the Carell Center Wednesday morning preparing for the Senators a team Vancouver has only beaten once in their last seven trips to the nation’s capital they have lots of Firepower on the team and uh quick guys hosta havet um bongs playing well I me go down their list they got some guys that can really hurt you so I I think we got to play the same way we played in Montreal come out strong and try to maintain that throughout the whole game well you look through their lineup they got a lot of talented players and you can’t underestimate anyone especially OT with uh with what they’ve done in the past and they’re still a good team obviously team’s going to rut and and uh looking for ways to get out of it but we just don’t want to give them a reason to get out of it Thursday’s game will be a big one for Magnus arson not only is it his second game back from a strin groin it’s also his first against the Senators the only NHL team he had played for before signing with the Canucks honestly I’m probably going to
