so in this MLB news and rumors video I am going to be talking about all of the latest pertaining to the 20242 MLB off season the latest news regarding the trade market the latest news regarding free agency basically all things MLB I’m going to be going over in this video let’s get right into it so the first MLB news item for today is actually a blockbuster trade that saw gar crochet get traded from the Chicago White Socks to the Boston Red Sox for four prospects so Jeff passen broke the news earlier today which says breaking the Boston Red Sox are finalizing each trade to acquire left-hander Garrett crochet from the Chicago White Sox verus tell ESPN the deal is in the medical phase not official but trending toward it so in case you guys want to know the exact trade it seems like that the white socks uh were acquiring um you know Kyle teal uh Braden Montgomery infielder Chase mid Roth as well as right-hander Wilman Gonzalez so four prospects uh from the Red Sox I believe Kyle teal is a top 50 Prospect in all of baseball and believe one of the other prospects if I’m not mistaken is a top five Prospect within the system so overall a pretty good return uh for the white socks relatively speaking now gar crochet has been talked about in trade rumors for quite some time I’m even dating back to the 2024 campaign and the 20124 MLB trade deadline there was lots of Rumblings about where he could be traded you know last off SE or last season and it finally actually happened so the Boston Red Sox for the most part this is a pretty good move in my personal opinion the Red Sox had a lot of interest in the starting pitching Market this off season they were connected to Blake Snell prior to him going over to the Dodgers uh they were connected to Max freed prior to him signing with the Yankees there’s been a lot of Corbin Burns discussions with him potentially going to Toronto and or San Francisco so it was probably best for the Red Sox to acquire a starting pitcher by the way someone who has some team control uh for the next couple years at a relatively low dollar value so in regards to saving them money they can still go after a big name fre agent this doesn’t you know limit them from going after that but but G crochet is a flame-throwing lefty last year for the white socks he put up a 4.1 wor season six wins 12 losses an ER of 3.58 32 games played 146 Innings pitched with 209 strikeouts and a whip of 1.68 so G crochet just 25 years old this is a fantastic move for the Red Sox if you’re a Red Sox fan I would be super pumped up about this trade if you’re a white socks fan you probably got a pretty good haul for Garett crochet don’t get me wrong that’s the only time will tell how these prospects develop but the Red Sox who wanted to make a big splash or to this offseason have failed to do so up until today and G crochet is a tremendous young player I definitely helps bolster their rotation and they’re not going to be done in my personal opinion so I would suspect the Red Sox are still going to be in on the pitching Market perhaps they go after like a tasar Hernandez or someone around those lines this offseason as well so I keep an eye on the Red Sox but the biggest news today I was from Boston where you know the white socks and the Red Sox made a big-time trade for gar crochet so building off what I basically just said so if you’re a Red Sox fan you’re going to love this video uh but John marosan X tweeted out the Boston Red Sox even after the gar crochet trade are working to acquire one of the Mariners starting pitchers sources say now this is interesting because as I just touched on before with the G crochet news with how little gear crochet is making in 2025 the Red Sox still have lots of money to spend elsewhere and I think they have to acquire some you know Outfield Talent specifically for them they have to add a bad or two to their lineup no questions asked but could they be exploring the trade market again and there’s no better team out there to explore that with than in my personal opinion the Seattle Mariners so looking at this Mariners depth chart here let me just pull it up here quick who could they be going after well this Mariners team is probably the deepest rotation in all baseball there has been some talks in the pass about the Mariners uh getting some more you know hitting help for their starting pitching but they have Logan Gilbert Luis Castillo George Kirby Bryce Miller and Brian Lou as I mentioned before that’s arguably the best rotation in all of baseball out of these five players who’s the most likely to be traded well Logan Gilbert is the closest to free agency but he’s also the best player on the staff in my personal opinion Logan gilber is 27 years old um has I believe two or three years left uh with Team control so you can get back an absolute hul for lokan Gilbert but if you’re the Boston Red Sox he could potentially be the Ace of the future and if you sort of want to go a little bit younger there are some other options like George Kirby Bryce Miller and Brian woo I would say Luis Castillo is probably the easiest to trade for just because of his age and the fact that he is under contract but uh whereas the other guys are quite a bit younger but I’m not too sure where the Red Sox want to go so if they want to go with a younger player like Gilbert you know Kirby Miller or woo that’d be pretty cool could they be going after Luis Castillo as well to solidify the rotation they very well could be as well so Seattle’s a very fascinating team because they haven’t really done this much this off season I have seen them link to players like Pete Alonzo I’ve seen them link to some other players as well in regards to acquiring some more hitting which is probably an area of focus for them they have a surplus of pitching so could they be flipping those pitching uh those those pitchers for them on the trade market for some star you know fielders per se it’s very possible so we keep an eye on the Boston Red Sox being pretty active this off season maybe not necessarily on the free agency market but instead on the trade market as as we saw earlier today uh with gar crochet so we keep an eye on the Mariners and the Red Sox making a blockbuster trade for a pitcher this offseason so shifting away for the red from the Sox only sort of a former Boston Red Sox player Nick Nick pavetta could be heading to the Big Apple and joining the New York Mets this off season so MLB deadline news onx tweeted out the New York Mets are meeting with free agent starting pitcher Nick pavetta per John Haymon so Nick pavetta is probably going to be a player that doesn’t come back to the Boston Red Sox based on their latest moves and the latest Rumblings especially if they were to make a trade with Seattle for a starting pitcher Nick Peta is pretty much as good as gone in my personal opinion now Nick Peta last year for the Red Sox had himself a pretty solid year he put up a 1.8 War season six wins 12 losses an ER of 4.14 27 games played 26 of them were starts 145 Innings pitched with 172 strikeouts and a whip of 1.12 six so Nick pavetta in regards to like a third fourth fit starter in a rotation definitely fits the bill if you are the New York Mets at this point you got your big time player in Juan stto now you have to address the other holes in your team and starting pitch for them has been one of them then that now they did sign clay Holmes uh they brought back Frankie Montas there’s been reports of them as well uh getting you know sha manah back in the mix so if that’s going to be the case then maybe Nick pavetta isn’t quite there but this team has what it takes to be a World Series championship team next year and if they’re able to sort of add some more depth in their starting rotation and have a lower level starter uh like Nick Peta around he’s not going to cost you too much financially speaking but also too he’s going to provide some games played and stay relatively healthy and just honestly uh speaking be a really solid player for them uh All Things Considered so Nick pavetta not the flashiest name I’m sure if you’re a Mets fan you would love for them to sign a Corbin Burns for example or perhaps have them sign like another player uh you know as an example but Nick Peta is still a very solid option that’s probably not going to be heading back to Boston based on their latest moves and if you are the New York Mets you’re you want to build the championship team this year so why not adjust starting pitching Nick Peta is going to be a cost efficient player that provides a lot of innings for them so uh Nick Peta going to the Mets could very well happen I guess we’ll find out so now shifting our attention towards the trade market once again the Baltimore Orioles could be replacing someone like Corbin burns with Dyan ceas of the San Diego Padres so once again MLB deadline news onx tweeted out the Baltimore Orioles have expressed interest in Padres starting pitcher Dylan C per John rosi so an interesting report leaked out today that the San Diego Padre’s are going to be taking offers on some of their star players out the players that were noted was Dylan C I believe we surise if I’m not mistaken as well as well as Andrew Bogart so all three of these players are phenomenal all three of these players would bring a lot of value to other teams out there and if you’re at the Baltimore roals you haven’t really done much this off season and with Corbin Burns probably not heading back to the Orioles all signs point towards that probably happening they need a a plan B they need a second option and Dylan C is a tremendous player that could bring a lot of value to this team and be the Ace of this franchise in 2025 and potentially Beyond so in Dylan T’s first year last year in San Diego he of course was a part of the white socks prior to that then got traded over last year to the Padres he was a phenomenal player he had a 4.2 War season 14 wins 11 losses 3.47 erra 33 games played 189 Innings pitch with 224 strikeouts and a 1.67 whip so Dylan C he’s going to be 29 years old in 2025 I do believe he’s entering in the last year of his deal if I’m not mistaken so if you are the Baltimore or similar to the Corbin burn situation trading for a player um this is probably not the the best way to go but if you’re taking it one year at a time it might not be a terrible option it might be your only option at this point uh trading for a player who has one year left about to hit the open market never really goes in your way just ask the Yankees with Juan stto and in this case for the Orioles Corbin Burns but Dylan CES could be a nice long-term option for this team and if you were to go over to Baltimore and be the legitimate Ace of this franchise this could be pretty phenomenal for them so Dylan CE and the Padres could definitely be heading towards a split this off season as well as some of his teammates like Xander Bogart as well as Lis arise now could it be uh him going to the Orioles I guess only time will tell but if they lose Corbin burns the pressure is kind of on for the birds
