officially uh comes as a h sunb team in Georgia Southern is visiting Louisiana Tech here Latt Tech laying 11 and a half total is 146 uh here for this matchup all right let’s get things underway Jeff na give me a thought here on this one on a Friday night in Rustin Louisiana it’s on the sheet again we don’t have a ton to work with uh maybe something here with the total as we mentioned any thoughts here Jeff to begin the conversation uh yeah I thought about uh maybe the the favorite here at home uh you know any time a Georgia Southern or a Sunbelt team play a team like this you I have some concern that they’re not going to be able to score uh Georgia Southern Sun Bel downhill get to the rim riant team Louisiana Tech always a good defensive team and conf USA uh they’ve done a nice job this year on that end this is also a pretty bad Georgia Southern defense uh they just don’t get a ton of stops they turn a ball over a lot they don’t make free throws they don’t do much of anything you want when backy and Underdog again I’ve talked about that before do you turn the ball over can he make threes and do you hit free throws none of which georia Southern do at a high level um I think they have problems here on the road against a pretty good latte defense the problem is with latch I mean there’s times where they look pretty good you know they they they beat teams they should but what was the excuse against Southern you know you lose outright against a team out of the swack you know they they um they just I don’t know that again I look at the Louisiana game they only gave up 58 in that game that’s kind of where I saw this game going I think we may have talked about that game at some point I don’t know maybe I’m just getting them confused but I would lean on laying it it’s about where I’d put the number but as you alluded to there’s not much to work with so I thought I’d throw it on to talk about it and remember they were beating my Memphis Tigers at the half before Memphis roared back to win for whatever that’s worth they did win midweek on the road at Louisiana Corby anything on that total or latch hosting Georgia Southern maybe something on Georgia Southern as well yeah latch will have by far the best player on the court I don’t think that’s really too much of a surprise or nearly a 12-point favorite here bacho is great the issue I have with backing a team like this in the situation is we know Georgia Southern wants to run 12th in the nation and Tempo this is going to be Sprint as fast as you can as as Jeff talked about they don’t really shoot well they don’t get the best shots but they’re going to be fast so the issue is can bacho get down the court and transition like or he is he going to be able to be a piece on defense that uh can impact the game like how he has basically all year 15th of the nation in Block rate 12.1% he’s been a great defensive piece if he can get down the court but Georgia Southern doesn’t want to set up in the half court so it might be negated on that side on the other side like he’s going to get to the free throw line a ton uh I think everyone’s going to get the free throw on a ton so this feel this feels like a number that’s huge but at the same time you could be up eight in the bonus with 14 minutes left in the game pretty easy uh and the ltech take it over so I’m not sure I would lean towards an over just to the fact I think that Georgia Southern’s going to get easier buckets without bacho being able to get back down the court but uh it would be the favorite for me and I uh go ahead I see one thing I I and I I think we should talk about this as a whole just because there’s not a lot of games today this show okay we’ve got to talk more about the Q&A that we do here okay there are things that we constantly throw out there and all the cappers do it you even do it TJ you look at last night prime example okay I gave you some great info on bethon cookman not even getting to 50 score 41 we talked about Texas you know taking care of New Mexico state in a good bounce back spot we talked about Chattanooga getting healthy you know sometimes the win loss record maybe you get upset with Corby or me or whatever but I don’t know if there’s a show on the market that does what we do on this show so shout out to us we don’t give ourselves and what and what you’re saying is we gave you a lot of good advice and we go over a lot of games even besides what you’re seeing here on the schedule back back to this one one more time what to make of Georgia Southern who gave up 102 in a loss to William and Mary at home earlier this year they also have lost to Drake they lost to Virginia Commonwealth but then they they beat North Florida in a wild game 93 to 91 their last time out anything on that yeah to that that could happen North Florida we know they shoot more threes than anybody in the country if they’re not making them or or it’s just one of those Wild Games you look in that game TJ 14 for 45 31% for North Florida in that game so their games are five attempts yeah this is why like you can’t they have these Wild games where they’ll beat like a a Jord to Tech and then they’ll lose to UNC Asheville like it’s very um uh volatile uh so yeah I don’t I don’t put much stock in that joria southern as some of these chat folks are alluding to they’re not a good basketball team I think Louisiana Tech should push 80 in this game kind of seem like a 7965 type of game um this was one that I was close on uh again nothing official here Corby anything else yeah and to your and to your point TJ like this Georgia Southern team you keep asking like how are they they’re awful like uh one one really big thing is when you’re a bad basketball team if you’ve play bkb you understand this is like when you’re a bad basketball team you don’t run an offense you try to play isolation basketball and isolation basketball usually leads to mid-range jumpers which from an analytic standpoint we know is the worst shot in basketball it’s still worth two points and it’s it’s a tougher shot so they are 80th in the nation in isolation they are 45th in the nation in shooting the mid-range number two awful shots versus a team who plays good defense we’ve seen some pretty good law attack defense uh Georgia Southern’s defense is is zero uh this just feels like a blowout waiting to happen was waiting to see if there was a live button coming out there but apparently there is not so no official play again this game at the Thomas Assembly Center in Rustin Louisiana a latch home 6:30 local time ESPN plus if you want to see it on a Friday night depending on what you got going on on a Friday night native’s always got something going on on a Friday night I don’t know that he’s peing at lot Tech and Georgia Southern we’ll see [Music]
