don’t pretend like at your own jobs you’re already not starting to wind things down a little bit for the year let’s be real here uh what were you gonna say an i this is this is two weeks in a row for you I I caught the last week’s version of this and I I am concerned this this is not Rangers related is this this is not frustration over the Rangers I mean we already got a comment in the chat from Aaron does anyone know how to fix the Rangers we’re going to talk about that later yeah maybe the Rangers have me a little bit off right now the Jets obviously just not doing anything for me on the football field so yeah we’re we’re we’re we’re fully in the Christmas mode here on a Total Hockey now not riing riff uh thn here that is at ant Rivera 86 that is fuzzy Chris 91 I am at pucking thoughts uh happy to have you here Ant back in the mix after having a week off uh Juan stto keeping him busy over there uh on subway to Shay so make sure you check that out for all the uh latest uh gloating and uh Feelgood Vibes out a flushing right now Queens uh plenty to get to today on Total Hockey now though going to take a quick look at the heart trophy odds cuz you know it’s not one of the usual candidates that’s the odds on favorite right now uh we’ll talk Rangers we’ll talk Predators going to do a two-part series of fantasy hockey Festivus today we will uh throw some defenseman and goalies out there and whether they deserve to hear an heing of grievances or circumstances enough that around them that they get a pass and they don’t have to sit at the table of the castanza house also in Queens like uh Juan stto now uh and then we’ll do uh you know we do the forwards next week and then a little TM Peter close out the show um some breaking news though uh before we came on the air today though uh looking at uh the Vancouver Canucks uh they uh decided that they were gonna get JT Miller active uh he skated uh in practice uh I believe it was yesterday uh he did speak with the media for a little bit uh said that he didn’t dive into the reason why he was out he doesn’t have to that’s nobody’s business uh for our perspective it’s good that he’s feeling good enough to be back on the ice and contributing and uh they’ll be taking on the Florida Panthers tonight uh he hasn’t played since the 19th uh it looks like he’ll be skating with Brock besser also Thatcher Demco returns this week uh even though he lost in St Louis good to have him back on the ice so good week to be a conu fan it’s I mean it’s it’s it’s good to see that he’s back on the ice that is the you know it’s good that he feels comfortable enough to return and you know when he’s ready to when he’s ready to talk about it he’ll talk about it if ever but it’s obviously a big boost to the Vancouver Canucks that they have him back on the ice and they’re they’re going to need him and I know Anthony’s happy about JT Miller yeah not only the Canucks but I’m happy uh the last couple of weeks without him I lost Brock besser for a while oie out until you know January February is time really has killed the momentum of my team the downward spiral the last couple of weeks without their offensive of production and to have him back I didn’t even know until I checked the rundown today that he was back so thank you guys for that I have now boosted him to the lineup and took him off ir and yeah he’s gonna give this team a nice little boost offensively I think he was like around seventh in points while while he was out uh before before he left and you look at the standings here and the Canucks are only a point behind the Oilers as well as the stars in the uh you know Western Conference so that’s something to take note of as this team continues through Christmas thought Vancouver uh handled the absence of you know their starting goal tender you know Kevin Lanken in big credit to him because he’s played well uh in uh Demo’s absence but yeah they’ve weathered the storm pretty well and now we’re starting to see them at full boore and uh we’ll see what the Canucks look like now I want to do a quick live fantasy advice to my two uh linemates here uh as you see I have this is the uh fantasy this is the uh representing the better sport Network in the fsga experts League along with Christopher morray also in one of those leagues uh JT Miller has to come back tonight my problem is do I drop Andrew Lee which if you look at the points he’s been putting up lately I don’t know if I want to do that plus with wings being at a premium in this league and tougher to find so that’s why he stays in the mix I am tempted but I know I can’t cut bait on lafier he’s playing well enough but he’s still not maybe playing up to where his draft pedigree was or do I cut Jacob Chan now you play three defenseman I carry two on the bench I don’t necessarily need to carry two on the bench but he’s a like if I drop Chon he’s going to get scooped up and the next great best defenseman that are out there are not great so is it as easy as just cutting an uh Anders Lee or somebody else well he he’s he’s dayto day does he go on IR Plus or is that different in that League there’s no there’s only one IR spot and they have to true ir and he’s just dealing with like an under the weather illness thing so if he doesn’t play tonight I’d imagine he’ll be back in the next Islanders game so that’s not a long-term thing yeah this this this is a tough decision see I had the same problem I was thinking man do I like what do I do with lafier because he hasn’t been the same since he signed the contract but if I I know if I just get rid of him someone will pick him up and this this is a tough decision that you have going for you I don’t I’m gonna let Chris who’s in first place in our League give that expert advice you don’t want advice from someone all the way in eighth and Ninth right now and this is a no trade league so like you know if you’re saying like maybe leverage some strength that like you can’t it’s all add drop I I’m also in the other FS G League where I sit at the top as well so just so far it’s been a good start for me in uh in fantasy hockey let’s and you won both of our leagues last year it’s true let’s not jinx it right now right but we’re right there to me that’s simple you Dro Jacob CH and you just move on I mean in a three Defense League right like how much is chi really playing right like you can’t really drop Neil pan because of all the you know the stuff that he brings right the way that he plays he block shots right and and that League hits and block shots matter as well so and you got a pretty good core there Evan buard and Zach rensky feels like a cheat code sergachev does everything well so Pan’s kind of like that fourth guy who rotates in when the others aren’t playing and chick is going to like he’s the fifth guy there I get that if you let him go like that’s it right but even if your defenseman got hurt you would still be able to slide you know what I mean you’d still be able to slide him in there uh Pon that as a regular so I also carry three in the fs uh I I carry four sorry defenseman in the fs G and I mean I just I I have been blessed with being able to have kale mcar uh Zack rensy in that league so it’s just it’s really easy for me to just swap whoever else I need to get in there you’ve convinced me and here’s the thing if Wings weren’t at such a premium I would just cut Le it wouldn’t even be a thought but I mean you make the argument right there when they’re hot they’re hot and you got to hold on to them you gotta use all that juice as much as you can all right so there we go and now I got JT Miller back in the lineup thanks guys that that that’s what I needed there I needed I just needed somebody to help me out and tell me the thing I needed to hear so there we go if he falls apart though or like if something happens where like Chan ends up I don’t know winning the Norris by some like second half though uh like we take this is what is it this is not Financial advice this is just you know how we would have done it or at least how I would have done it correct yeah we are yeah I no if Chen goes on and wins the narus and uh scores the game-winning goal for like 30 of their wins the rest of the way or whatever then yeah whatever I’ll just have to deal with it uh let’s talk a little before we get to the Rangers uh pretty solid trade happened earlier in the week between the Sharks and the Avalanche uh basically a goalie swap with Alexander gorv going to the Sharks uh with McKenzie Blackwood going back to the Avalanche sharks also get a forward Prospect Nikolai kovalenko son of uh Andre kovalenko conditional fifth round pick in the 2025 draft and the second in the 2026 Colorado also gets javanni Smith and a fifth round pick in the 2027 draft so basically it’s the goalie swap San Jose is getting a much better uh Prospect back than javanni Smith who’s more of like a 13th forward at this point and the second round pick because the fifth round picks are basically just kicking one year to the next so and that fifth round pick in San Jose will probably be a little bit higher than the one that uh the uh Avalanche are sending back but you never know uh I I think Mike Greer just again doing what he does he is really just doing a marvelous job with this rebuild McKenzie Blackwood was playing very well for the Sharks over the last couple of weeks anybody who’s followed Mackenzie blackwood’s career know that that was not going to last so his value was high Colorado is probably the most desperate team for goenda while they’ve completely flipped the T table over you know Scott Wedgwood is now in there now you know they got uh Blackwood an Nunan out gorv out hopefully it provides some stability I love the move for both sides gorv is just going to split the load with vanich until askarov is ready to come up and take more it’s definitely it’s definitely a win for Greer that’s for sure cuz I if I remember correctly that he acquired like the rights to blackw or something for like a six round pick or something and now he flips it for you know he got some assets back some picks so that was that was good you take a player that obviously is not part of your long-term plan you upgrade the asset in a short period of time the timing of it as well of that trade was quite good because I think he had like 50 saves in a against Florida um apparently that was enough to convince the Colorado Avalanche that he is the at least Lord and Savior for this year uh I can’t imagine why the Colorado Avalanche keep doing this they like yes they’ve overhauled their goal tending um but if you cover a turd with chocolate it’s still a turd and that’s what they’ve done here they have covered poor goal tending with poor goal tending like it’s it’s not it’s it’s not better this is a lateral move at best assuming Blackwood can stay healthy which is uh like that’s one of those things I this like this it’s still not good enough it’s not good enough this is not a long-term solution this is a team that needs help and those two bodies that they have in goal are not it you’re muted well that’s what happens when you come back uh after after a week it’s Chris’s turn to make him yeah yeah um I don’t know what the ABS are doing here if anyone knows about McKenzie Blackwood it sure is me and he had had ample opportunity to be the lead goal tender in New Jersey and never took advantage of it was always hurt as well on top of that so that’s something else you have to factor in with uh Blackwood so San Jose even though they get gorv they do the right move here and capitalize on McKenzie blackwood’s success so far when he has a 911 save percentage I think uh right now uh three goals against so we’ll see what happens there but I you know that’s a a wash trade but better for San Jose I think for me what I think Chris McFarland is doing here Avalanche GM he sees Blackwood playing well behind a listen let’s look at the Sharks blue line that is that’s a bottom five Blue Line in the league I would say I know Jake Wallman runs a good power play play I know they brought in Cody CCE and Timothy lren they bot him 10 league and he was playing that well even for it’s for a short period behind a blue line like that Colorado is may be thinking okay we do have a better Blue Line than the Sharks yes Blackwood it hasn’t has been inconsistent hasn’t been a Bonafide starter but maybe they’re hoping that okay we knew gorv was not the guy um an Nunan had ample opportunity to take the crease he didn’t they’re thinking here is okay Blackwood played pretty well against the San Jose Blue Line Wedgewood is a reliable backup that’s going to come out and play every few games it’ll probably be a little bit more of an even workload there since neither guy you know Blackwood has an edge but you know may maybe it’s something about the last names that end in wood that they have to have because it’s Blackwood Wedgewood maybe that’s you know they’re trying to collect the set I don’t know I don’t fault the move I think it is a it’s better than what they had that is for sure but and that with that team in front of them maybe that’s all they needed maybe maybe gior gorgia was just that bad and now you get a guy like Blackwood who will say is mediocre at best behind a Colorado team you know looks good enough and can play them well enough like I said Wedgewood goes out every handful of games I just I completely dis I just don’t think he’s good it’s a it’s an upgrade but it’s not it’s not it’s not good enough I will say this uh Wedgewood and blackwood’s talent is clearly hit it in plain sight because I cannot see it and I do not believe the rest of us can see it that there it’s not it’s not good enough it’s not it’s not good enough to win a Stanley Cup I get that they did it with Darcy keer the corpse of him but this Colorado ad this Colorado team defensively is not as good as that cup run team and do not have the depth up front to compete that that team is very topheavy and yes they get you know they get Ross Colton back yes they get Valerie NuSkin back and yes that probably helps this team a little bit but if you’re looking to win a Stanley Cup with that goal tending I mean it’s gonna be a rude awakening because it’s it’s just not it you you you don’t you don’t win with those guys I’m curious if we see Colorado make another goalie move before season’s over because like you said you know you’re not big on Blackwood Wedgewood is a backup that’s all he is nobody expects more than that so maybe this is not the last time we’re talking about the Avalanche acquiring a goalie this year maybe they’re just going to keep trying to get you know Bargain Bin you know goalies and hopefully one of them pans out maybe that’s what this is here uh now do we want to go Rangers next or Predators next we can go either way here which one would upset you more Adam let’s get that one out of the way let’s talk about the Rangers then still mired in issues here um last Friday they finally get out from the Jacob trouba contract they you know the return coming back’s pretty good considering that the main thing there is they retain zero salary and that’s basically all they were hoping for um so two hours later igos shurin gets signed great you know the pro the reason we couldn’t give him the deal was Jacob tr’s contract literally the second that he’s got off the books they get it taken care of Bravo they go out they play very well against Pittsburgh watch that entire game beginning to end it was like okay this team’s playing a little bit better they’re playing like a team that’s you know killed two birds with one stone today and got those two headaches out of not headaches but those two clouds over the locker room Igor’s future with the team and trouba done then they lose to the Krakens 7even to5 on Sunday they lose to the Blackhawks on Monday they bounced back with the Sabers win in Buffalo last night but uh and then you know you have um Larry Brooks on spit and chicklets basically talking about is a bener job being a sensitive player and how you know other things that are being said is that you know the locker room is not thrilled with how Chris jury handled Barkley Gad and Jacob trouba and that’s having an effect on them I mean when you look at what’s going on with the Rangers right now I don’t necessarily yes they have some problems on the blue line I just think this is more of a confidence issue maybe the team needs to go away for like uh you know if they have an extended period off you know a couple of days like I don’t know I I think this is a team that took the you know eventual Champions the Florida Panthers deep into the Conference finals last year it’s not that much of a different team you know I I I think this is more between like they just need to mentally be better and once that starts happening once they start to feel better as a team I don’t know how you do that though because right now it’s just does not look good on the ice I mean the Rangers are just bad man let’s like let’s keep it a stack here this team is just not they’re not playing to where they need to be and this isn’t this isn’t Jacob TR fault like he’s he’s a you know he’s a symptom of it but um you know moving moving him by the way like some teams stay bad uh because they just make poor decisions and the Anaheim Ducks definitely are a team that will continue to be I feel like that rebuild is going to go on for at least half a century uh because you have a player who didn’t want to be there or or who did but didn’t want to be with the Rangers in a sense because of how he was being treated uh a player that clearly well sorry a team that didn’t want him there as well and verbi ends up giving up a player and an asset and the Rangers retain no money in that deal like I don’t I don’t know how verb just woke up like how high was the bidding for Jacob trouba like I can’t imagine it like it’s good the the Ducks get a solid veteran you know a guy who can pile drive his elbow into somebody’s skull so I mean there’s that but I don’t man the Rangers got lucky that they found a GM was no idea what he’s doing because you you you should not be giving up an asset in that and you you should have been getting a pick along with trouba and asking the Rangers to probably hold some money there and they didn’t and like you said that helped them sign eigor uh you know like an hour later who by the way has all his money in signing bonus who has a full no move Clause so we don’t so the Rangers never have to worry about that experience ever again at least with him so uh but the Rangers need they need some something to happen here and they need some help on that blue line because it’s just it’s it’s just not good enough right now it’s not good enough you gonna have to set like an alert nailing it yeah I I think it’s time I think that it’s time to break up this core and I’m not just saying that cuz I’m a I’m a devil fan but like they’ve they’ve tried like for so long to get this like Chris cder’s been here forever now a and so a lot of these other guys and it’s just not working they’re not getting back to the Stanley Cup I mean when they played the Devils uh a week ago or two ago there was talk that they could not keep up with the speed of the devils and and their F this was the same problem they were dealing with when we played him in the playoffs a couple years ago and they have not f fixed that yet so you know I think it’s time to start a new with this team I you have eigor signed on for a long time you have um lafer signed on you build around those two guys I guess and you start trying to figure out if you can move some of these guys I don’t know if you can move around ma uh or or or krider but something’s got to give and especially with now the way that the team feels in the locker room that’s a problem that’s not that’s something that that just doesn’t go away you know within the day obviously if you start winning it might but I if if trouba who the you know was the captain of this team and I don’t know how you if you take that lightly of him being the captain or what but um you know it just it just does something just doesn’t feel right on the ice and off the ice and that’s a a big problem so and going back to trading a captain because I was having this conversation with a buddy he’s like oh how do you trade a captain blah blah blah I’m like yes he was a captain and yes that’s your guy and you’re going to go to battle for him but when a guy like trouers throwing elbows around what he does like yeah he’s still your guy but like deep down it’s like if he was on the other team I’d want to run him for doing that stuff so like yes he’s your captain yes he’s your leader but like are you fully behind a guy like that that you know should probably have been suspended more and like if he was doing it to you like if you was on the other team you’d want to go after him so I mean I don’t know maybe that’s like an addition by subtraction thing but they still weren’t happy with how Drury handled the whole situation um so that’s what’s been lingering and like you said maybe just winning maybe winning is what solves the problem one win turns into two wins turns into three wins and all of a sudden all those bad vibes and all those things that you’ve been dealing with over the past few weeks are gone their history winning can cure a lot but there need does need to be a shakeup with this team I think you’re right I think you know I’ve heard Brady kach Chuck’s name being mentioned you know there was that tampering allegations last week which yeah I would love to I would love to see what kind of deal it is wouldn’t that be ironic if m is AB bandad as a piece going back to Ottawa basically we got the best years of his career now we ship him back to Ottawa um that would be funny I think if you’re going to make a major shake up it has to be somewhere on the blue line has to has to has to that’s where they need help uh so that’s I think where your first bit of focus is is you try to help that and then if nothing happens there then you may have to consider a much larger T like retool we’ll call it you remember when they sent out the letter to do the rebuild right that that didn’t last long that didn’t really last long they were they were back within I want to say maybe a year or two uh after sending that out so there there really hasn’t been a rebuild they’ve kept like the guy they kept krider and they had kept a lot of those guys you know leading up to this point doesn’t Brady kachu isn’t he just gruntled there in Ottawa right now is like is that a concern of bringing him into this locker room and and will that work do you think that that’ll work out I mean I think Brady kruck’s disgruntled because OT is a you know as Chris likes to say a directionless team and you know the rebuild another team that who knows how long that rebuild is going to go on for with them yeah I know they’re getting a new Arena and all that but I think a guy like Brady kachuck would be happy to get out of Ottawa to go to almost any other team uh you know an American boy coming and playing for the Rangers you know you I think he would be very I think he would be very happy to come to the Rangers even in their current state um but you know I again I think it’s on the blue line first you know Aaron saying there lingren needs to go I would convince M to get traded to Dallas we have a lot of good prospects and it’s just we have the Vets who have no trade Clauses mik to the PRS for Nyquist I mean it’s clear that a shake a it’s the mental thing and two a shake up needs to happen at this point like and it’s not going to be firing the coach you’re not going to get rid of Peter laviolet because then that’s just you’re like I think that’s a short-term fix I don’t think laviolette’s necessarily the issue there um so the thing is you’ve been through three coaches already yeah and the roster has not really changed over much in that time so to put it all on Lavette especially since he just took them to the Eastern Conference Finals I mean you can’t you can’t keep just cycling through coaches and keeping the same roster he doesn’t play on the ice and he he’s got the pedigree he’s got the Stanley Cups I’d also like to know the other issue here is a you know Chris jur and Rangers owner there Jim Dolan apparently when Jim Dolan likes somebody as a person he does he they have a a dog leash is 40 50 feet long oh yeah so that’s gonna be that’s also a problem too is when it’s good for Drury and job security but not necessarily good for performance uh so you know again we like we said with the Rangers winning can cure a lot of things you know you got the Kings coming that’s not going to be an easy game but maybe you get a tough victory over the Kings and then that snowballs and then you got a little bit of a road trip coming up there I know you got to go to Dallas and Nashville I think you know let’s talk about the Predators cuz as bad as things are at the garden they’re not as bad as they are in Nashville the Rangers are still in the playoffs as of today barely but they’re in the Predators are one of the worst teams in the league 611 and 13 Roman Yosi leaves the game he’s dayto day the other night that’s the last thing they needed but let’s just look at some actual numbers here the Predators are allowing 3.6 goals per game they have a league shooting percentage at 4.76% so okay fine it’s the shot the shot percentage has to write itself it’ll go up a little bit they’re not going to shoot below 5% all the year but even so penalty kill is a shade under 70% 61 goals scored is dead last in the league to go with that Su Center in the 20th rength power play I mean I know we were just talking about how the Rangers shouldn’t fire their coach because that’s not going to solve things I think in Nashville it a change behind the bench might be the next way to go here with brunette not necessarily blaming it on him but when you have Jonathan marcho making comments like every time I jump on the ice with I had players and warm-ups and then I started the game with other guys hockey players probably more than other sports they love their routines they love their regularity they want to know who they’re skating with and yes they understand injuries happen and okay some but the guy that they they skate with warm-ups in should be the guy the guys that they play with in the game and no changes should be made there unless somebody’s like a game time decision because of like an injury and whether they could go or not here’s the like I’ll I’ll CLE back here quickly just for the Rangers and uh Senators because I feel like I might as well like just tilt both fan bases at once uh Brady Brady will leave once that contract comes up like his brother he’ll just be like hey I’m just gonna go somewhere else and not being in Ottawa because I mean it’s Ottawa uh right and for those of you looking to trade M zad uh he’s making 8.5 million dollar for six more years so strap in Ranger fans we like we’re not this isn’t like be like NHL a GM there like in those video games uh you guys are stuck with Ma so the next place he plays is in the Swedish Elite League once he gets bought out so these these wonderful trade scenarios are not happening so strap in get yourself a mik zabin Jad Jersey and Rocket because he’s there I mean until he falls apart now for the Nashville Predators here this is a terrible team they are also scoring 2.21 goals per game they have exactly two wins on the road this year here so and and yes the comments that Marsh show made are indeed correct because they were taken from French TV and when I translated them it it sounded exactly like that now it’s probably more of a player that’s disgruntled and just unhappy a little bit with him because I mean you know he’s not doing pretty well uh and the rest of that team is just not performing they’re just not doing a very good job and sure you could fire Andrew brunette and that’ll solve absolutely nothing because it’s the players on the ice who are not kind of not figuring it out and to to an extent maybe Mar is right maybe he does want to know who he wants to play with maybe he does want to build some of that chemistry and it probably is harder for all these new guys coming into a situation where you know they’ve played in their respective clubs for so long and now they’re trying to get this all to work and it’s just not it’s not there but this like there positive positive regression is going to happen at some point this team is too far down you can’t be shooting 5% with the talent that’s there but you know some guys on there that that they have some big contracts that are you know there’s no state income tax out here in Tennessee so they’re collecting a lot of money and they just not doing it Stephen stos is not shooting the puck Marsh is not shooting the puck nearly enough this team is not doing enough so it’s probably a shakeup and it’s not just going to be trading you know Wedgewood out of there but again you’ve committed a lot of money to a lot of players so at some point you just got to like you got to figure it out right and I don’t care what it’s got to be but if if life has to get a lot more miserable for them before it gets better it is you know what I mean it is what it is boys like strap in look at yourselves because this is what it is these are the guys they don’t have a ton of money to go out and start flipping things they’re not going to move some of those contracts right like nobody’s taking on Steven stab Coast or Jonathan marsho today so I mean you got to figure it out right probably some debt moves probably bring in some guys but at this point this maybe the reality is that they’re a bad team like that’s that’s just it they went out they signed some veteran players who are on the wrong side of 30 it’s not going well and here we are you know everybody talks about how hard it is you know to get players to go to certain markets right like out there in Buffalo I hear there’s no palm trees in Buffalo that’s fine but like you said winning cures everything as long as you win the rest does not matter and all of this is in you know it’s under a microscope because they’re losing right it’s the same thing for the Rangers you can cure everything but you got to start winning hockey games and it’s got to be a commitment to doing so you got to figure it out and you got to go out there and grind it out too many nights the Rangers look like they just don’t care and the PRS just are like they’re so bad to watch I I don’t think I’ve watched a PRS game on TV like this year and to be honest I don’t think I’m missing anything look out look out inside your window right now and you’ll see the Predators bandwagon I have just jumped off I mean I was so excited for this team once they made all the moves that they did for these veterans and if they’re going to make a move at manager at uh manager at a head coach they’re gonna have to get someone that is more experienc I don’t know maybe they’re general manager Barry trots is a guy that can take over the team and and kind of turn this around he’s got the pedigree Stanley Cup champion maybe he’s a guy that could come out of uh being the GM and and start coaching this team they have a the second worst diff goal differential they’re 28 penguins are the worst at 30 this team is struggling bad man and I I feel bad for my brother because he wanted Roman Yosi and I I I obliged I traded for sergachev and bosi from him and now he’s injured so sorry about that nice deal for you taking advantage of your brother during the holidays that’s he offered the deal to me that’s that’s older or younger brother he’s older brother taking advantage of your older brother like that that’s wild that’s gonna come back and bite if it makes you feel better Nashville fans the all seven of you left off the band way you know still on the wagon here I mean you guys got three first round picks coming this year so maybe we can get some good players maybe we could you know maybe we could insert something but I do this I think a coaching this is one of those situations where a coaching change it’s ripe for it you you just Chang the locker room you brought all these new players in with Stam coast and Maro and Brady Shay you sign Soros to the long-term extension they’re not listening to this guy whereas with the Rangers I think it’s more of their disconnect with the GM and like like a lot of people have said in the chat here uh you know it’s a mental thing with the Rangers I think with the Predators it’s a shake up behind the bench I think it’s one of the situations where a new voice and you know a name that was thrown out there was team will hire quinnville I mean there’s going to be the bad PR at first when you take a guy like quinnville let’s say they hire let’s say they fired brunette sore subject for Chris who missed out on him in the our league draft and maybe a couple other leagues I know you’re a big Capri of guy but I mean it’s to me it’s funny that it’s you know not M like it’s not the usual cast of characters like Capri’s kind of been on the periphery there maybe like in the second tier of heart candidates he’s kind of broken through and I think I don’t think he’s going anywhere this year every time I see Carill capris off rack up points like I cry because I know I was right in expecting him to explode like I got it right and I still couldn’t get him on my fantasy team with kale marar because I knew that like mly it’s I think all defenseman in points Mar uh C uh sorry not capris off leads all player in points and I’m like man like I know I’m doing well but I I was so close and I’m not you know I’m not there but like that he is definitely to me he is he is very much a heart candidate because M like Minnesota’s good we knew that defensively they could be good that whole def like that whole system that they got going there is starting is really starting to work defensively they’re good I mean Mark rre flurry looks like he’s 2 again you know there’s some guys over there doing things that are you know I didn’t think they were going to be able to do like Jake Middleton’s been Elite Marco Rossy starting to cook there you know the The Supporting Cast has been really good but the you know the the straw that stirs the drink here is kill capris off and all this I think like 60 plus percent of his points are on the road so he gets the worst matchups right because when kill’s in town you probably got to watch him and he still goes out there and slams his opponents so I mean betting against McDavid is always a good strategy to lose money but like unless even if McDavid gets like 135 140 points it’s like okay like it which is through no fault of his own like he’s been there done that you’re like okay show me something else right through no again no fault of his own he’s he’s leak in every way shape and form um but man I have a hard time taking this one away from from Capri off 18 goals 25 assists and 27 games so uh on quite the pace right now I mean is he if he scores 50 is that it like you got to give it to him at 50 i’ give it to him if he does it at 40 okay if he does it if he’s got 40 goals 60 some OD assist like he’s got a he’s a 100o player at this like at his current Pace he’s on Pace what 115 like even if he slows down a little bit he’s still he’s still right there he is he is the definition right now of one of those power forwards he is you know he’s he’s a great skater he’s big he shoots the puck he he does all those things that you love a player to do and you know Minnesota yes they got some guys there I get it but he is still like he I feel like he’s dragging the rest of that team with him a little bit like he’s this is a this is a well- coached team defensively they know what they got to do go tending is strong the defense is solid you know they’re doing their thing and that’s good and that allows the offense to do what they need to do and Carill leads that boat the other thing too and you may you alluded to it a little bit there um the wild this year just you know we we talked about last week how they’re Juggernauts and they you know at the top of the standings in the central with the Jets you know the stars and Avalanche lurking right behind them but yeah I mean you talk about who’s most valuable to their team take Capri off off off the Wild and where are they in the standings maybe they’re hover maybe they’re a wild card team maybe they’re in that three spot in the central but no I mean right now if all things stay about the same as they are now unless somebody like McDavid or McKinnon or kucherov you know goes on because that’s the other thing too guys that have won it before tend to get a little bit of an extra look they tend to get a little you know get a little extra consideration I almost feel like you have to be in consideration but don’t get nominated before you get nominated and that’s where capriso is right now and I think can win it um you know on the right side you know those guys can all have very strong Seasons but I don’t think any of them at this point know eel would really have to do something to stand out hes I think is it’s a breakout season but I don’t think unless he goes out and just scores 70 goals I don’t think he’s going to be uh in the conversation there you know maybe dry side a little reinart but yeah it’s the guys on the left and to me it’s capriso yeah this is a public outcry by the way to Jean if you would like to trade me Capri off I will definitely listen you can almost ask for the moon in my firstborn child that I might ever have but I would give it to you like just just know that he literally has Capri off’s name on team I know he he had it on before he even drafted that’s how confident he was that’s how I like I know you know I’m in the sauce here but like I’m trying to just you know I’m trying I’m trying to see how you know how I could maybe make the dream come true and it doesn’t it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen so but I cry every time I see poft go off because I’m like man I could have had it and I didn’t and yeah I mean that listen sometimes that’s why you got to reach a little bit in a draft if you really want a guy that bad I mean yeah it’s tough to in a in a redraft league it’s tough to move up and get a guy and you know it’s tough to really trade picks there yeah I mean you were you were right around the area you missed on them and uh yeah you’ll weep here and there but you’ll be okay you’ll be okay you look pretty sad right now I gota I gota be hon because I think about it and I’m Carlson one of the guys we’re going to be talking about out here uh in this segment uh let’s get to Fantasy Festivus and uh we talked Nashville Predators uh a little bit here so why don’t we start uh with UC Saros he was the 20 he was 27 in IDP according to Yahoo third goaly taken uh positionally and he’s currently ranked 11th uh on nhl.com uh goenda save percentage 272 goals against average now we talked about how bad the Predators are so is his numbers in play a reflection of the team in front of him or does he need to sit down at the table in the castanza house and deal with and take his grievances from Frank and everybody else there I think it’s the team in front of him right I mean look would wouldn’t you take that safe percentage in goals against for for any of these teams that are struggling yeah like the win loss record is you know it is what it is but that’s not on him yeah it’s it’s not like I’m not really ready to push him under the bus his so like his his goal saved above expected five on five is like it’s de it’s average it’s not great but I mean it’s not it’s it’s not all on him man this this team can’t score even if he does play well the PRS don’t score enough goals and you went out you got a whole bunch of guys to score goals so he’s not the problem it’s everybody else a little bit that’s around him that needs to do better because even if he gives up like if he gives up two goals which is still like not much in hockey PRS are no like are not there’re they’re not putting the puck in the net and that’s probably the only thing cyos can’t do so Saros is going to get a pass he doesn’t have to deal with airing of grievances he gets to leave let’s do we got two more goalies I want to get to here uh but first let me get to steuart Skinner here uh 48.4 IDP eighth goalie taken georgev was ninth by the way just to put that in perspective he was the ninth goalie off the board this year uh Skinner ranked 13th on ahl.com 107 and2 895 save percentage and 281 uh goals against now with him he’s been playing a lot better he his last five outings have been very strong I think he’s turned the corner I think yeah it wasn’t the best start for Stu Skinner but I think he also gets a pass I got no problem with him uh not having to hear any grievances here I think he I think think he’s turned the corner considering where you got him in drafts I think he’s okay yeah Skinner is what he is right like we kind of know the type like he’s up and down he’s a roller coaster ride the goals that average against is fine uh you know even this you know not the best save percentage right but you know better than a lot of other goalies that are struggling right now so I I I think that for the Oilers it’s all about you know them scoring a lot of goals they score more goals than the other team they’re winning that that’s how they play their game yeah the ORS are ter like they’re not good defensively this should not Shock anybody right so like he’s a he he’s a product of that team right that team is not very good defensively so he gives up a lot of goals with Sider doesn’t look good I think they are bigger fish to fry on that team right I mean Victor harson has been absolutely terrible right you went out to get Stuart uh sorry Jeff Skinner and that pretty much hasn’t worked out uh Evan buard cannot play defense I I think that’s pretty much there the loss of you know uh broberg and Holloway clearly has hurt them they decided they didn’t want to go down that route okay so there’s a lot of there’s a lot of other things it’s not like Stuart skitter is a problem but he’s not the whole problem he is like a small slice of the pie here like if you’re watching your weight kind of slice of the pie thing he’s he’s not it he’s like half of a like a normal piece of pie he’d be like half of that piece yeah you know what I mean like he’s yeah yeah like a respect you know like he you would it’s following the recommended serving size of of problem you know what I mean because like who follows the recommended serving size of a pie you take as much as you want and as much as you can eat basically because they’re like oh here’s like 40 grams or you’re like what is that like I I need more there’s not there are not 10 servings in this there are three at best it’s enough of a slice of the pie to be respectful and eat something but you know not to just totally not anything right right there you go so all right so first two goalies up they don’t got to sit at the table and deal with grievances now before we get to a guy who absolutely does uh we got uh in the comments here hidden in plain sight let’s just rub the let’s just put a little more salt in that Chris caisar uh wound I had Capri off for heart before the season started I looking pretty good indeed it is people don’t realize how good this guy was I’ve owned him for a few of my keeper League since he came over from the KL I mean he’s been a stud since he’s got here I knew Hayden knew he this was this was again capriso being as Elite as he was was hidden in plain sight because we I I I knew this I just couldn’t get my hands on him you know what I mean that’s what makes it worse if I didn’t know then I’m like all right well you know it’s hockey but I knew but I’m glad some of us were on the same page well we’ll stop rubbing the salt in the wound now about Capri off uh one more goalie to get to for Fantasy Festivus here uh Jeremy Swan uh 30 2.4 ADP fifth goalie off the board ranked eighth on nhl.com currently I don’t believe I don’t agree with him being a top 10 goalie right now 910 and two record 885 save percentage 327 goals against I know the Bruins have some problems but uh this is the same guy who uh did what he turned down it was like the high before eigor turned down the highest paid goalie in NHL history whatever it was but Swan not necessarily earning his contract right now I know there’s other problems you know they have a very slow blue line up there but I mean man if we’re talking from a fantasy perspective San has not cut the mustard considering where he was going in drafts I mean there was one week where I even waited on him and I got him a little bit later and it’s just he’s not working for me right now you know I think he’ll turn it around but right now he needs to take his lumps right now he’s not playing good yeah he’s got to sit they told uh they they traded Omar out of the way to make him the lead now he has struggled so mightily uh for Boston but you know we all saw this coming thanks to Chris and telling us uh of the downfall of the Boston Bruins for a while now yeah he’s got to sit because that contract that he in the off season all the all the ill will between him and Boston the the Boston GM and all that and the owner and all that stuff uh it doesn’t look good for him right now it just doesn’t I’m actually give him a pass here um I know like yes he yes he has not done well he his goal saved above expect expected all situations is minus 11 so not good right not great Bob but there are a lot again a little bit like the you know the Oilers there are bigger fish to fry here like are we not going to talk about the fact that Boston has like no like outside of poock nobody else on that team is Elite they don’t have any doubt they like are we just going to forget that Elias liol and Nikita zadorov were given these outrageous contracts and like it’s not working for them like it’s it’s not going well those I feel like swan has earned his money and I I I think it’s more of a product of the Bruins just being so bad right like it it is it is that and maybe you know the fact he didn’t have a training camp I know he says like it doesn’t matter but all athletes will say that that it doesn’t matter and da and it if it didn’t matter then nobody would do it right but it does matter that’s why we do it so I I’m going to give him a pass here because this is one of those things now where he is a true number one goalie the work set you know the the work amount the the mindset everything behind that changes and just as the Boston Bruins are changing I mean they got they got smacked in Winnipeg man imagine having to go to Winnipeg and then imagine getting smacked in Winnipeg uh so there’s there’s a lot going on with Boston it’s not just him he has to be better but I don’t think it’s enough to sit him down at the table and be like hey you know what I mean like there are other things I am more confident in him correcting what needs to be done than I am of the Boston Bruins correcting what they need to be done because that’s also a team by the way that just let you know Montgomery walk and then there’s literally another team that fired a coach that they signed to be like hey that’s the guy we want nothing you know nothing says okay maybe we made a mistake like doing that um and not only that but the blues are playing much better hockey their last four games it’s like a night and day situation with as going to the coach you decide be like hey buddy we just like this guy a lot more like it’s not it’s it’s not you but he you’re ALS he’s not you so that’s you know what I mean like again I I’m just I’m just not ready to sit him at the table I’m ready like if if you sit all the Bruins at the table then yes specifically management that’s to me that’s where the bone I got to pick with that this team is assembled this is what it looks like Jeremy Swan didn’t assemble that team he didn’t trade allar he didn’t give Elias lyol and Nikita zorov those horrible contracts he didn’t have this team have no depth that that that’s not on him there’s other people that need to take accountability I’m gonna leave him off the table right now I know we haven’t gotten a defenseman yet but it’s going to be a pretty empty Festivus table here if we don’t start sitting somebody down soon uh before we get to defenseman uh suggestion in the chat here Omar should be at the table too yes he’s won three in a row but those are Detroit Nashville and Anaheim so take that with a grain of salt he is playing better I’m tempted to not put him at the table just because it’s like we knew you knew what you were signing up for in Ottawa like you know you were expected to make things a little bit better but I don’t know uh you know he can’t sit at the table because we knew this was happening yeah unless you’re an auttaa centers fan in which case you’re delusional like you knew what was happening here Hobie w got his bag has to live in Ottawa but you like senators are not good everybody knows this nobody was like people thought he was gonna win over 39 games where and like you said he beat a whole bunch of terrible teams good for you bud but overall his numbers not terrible it’s just that they’re not Elite but also the Ottawa Senators are not you know Boston Bruins of previous years there’s only so much a goalie can do the Ottawa Senators are trash yes I think that’s something we can all agree on here the Ottawa Senators are trash all right so right now uh Swan might be at the table might not be at the table that’s all we got right now let’s get to the defenseman now two GES that I was going to throw on this list but then after a little bit of thought I’m like ah I think they fall into that UC Soros it’s more of a their team around them that’s causing their less than you know maybe not the numbers that they were drafted for uh Merit cider uh 78.6 ADP 14th defenseman off the board and Noah Dobson 56.9 ADP nth def defensemen off the board they get passes you know things are not going well with the Islanders things are not going well with the wings they’re very both teams very inconsistent so tough for a defenseman to have strong numbers in those kind of settings unless the team’s totally given up and they just take you know the training wheels off and say go go go uh so we’ll give them a pass but I’m going to go back to Boston Here Charlie McAvoy 64.2 ADP 12th highest defenseman taken currently rank 23rd on nhl.com five goals six assists three Power Play points yeah he’s still on the top power play and then stop pairing but I don’t I don’t know I need more out of that than Charlie McAvoy I know he’s a bottom tier one defenseman or a top second tier defenseman I need more than what he’s getting and I know there’s other problems in Boston but and he got selected to you know the four nations face off USA team but he’s got to sit at the table he needs to take his lumps come on down all right down Charlie sit here let’s have a conversation you know why are you so bad just you know start with there why you know tell me like you do at every performance you know Improvement plan tell me what you can do better and where do you see yourself in six months uh he has just not been good there is no competition on that back end for him anywhere like that’s his top power play Spot he’s got all the minutes he can he he can get like it’s nobody else is stealing it and he just looks miserable he looks terrible he’s not he’s not great so he jerem Swan could sit at the other table Jeremy swen should probably sit on my side and ask Charlie M andoy the same question as to why is he playing so terrible you absolutely have to sit the guys from the same teams together like we’re not going to sprad like you know they’re not going to know a lot of people there and you know how it is you go to someone’s house and you don’t know people that one person you kind of know you’re going to latch on to them a little bit so yeah we’ll we’ll have them seated at the table together but yeah so for me makoy and San absolutely there I got three more defenseman on the list I want to get to but Aaron throw one in the chat let’s just you know bash the Rangers all day long as we should DeAndre Miller needs to be at the table he is the softest d man I will say for a man that is that large he does play very soft like it’s and I listen I know there you know Lind grin is not you know in high regard right now in New York Adam Fox maybe not having a top season but not having a terrible season least fantasy perspective wise there are other guys in the blowing but yeah Keandre Miller needs to be step up and yeah I think he can absolutely sit at the table next to Krueger and uh Frank castanza and you know the guys from the off track betting that showed up to at the castanas he has to have a seat there I I would agree with that he should probably bring lingren with him they should probably split the you know split the conversation because both of them are just not they’re not doing it yeah he probably gets lost in the mix because of lingren and because of trouba and them trying to get rid of trouba that you don’t even you know realize how bad you forget to bash him so bad the same leer we’re talking about the rest of them so much that we forgot that they’ve been just as terrible you run out of you run out of steam after a little while there’s always so much you can really like attack on people and you know all that but yeah those guys absolutely need to be at the table there uh couple more guys here and then uh we’ll do our uh TMP before we get things uh wrapped up here uh Meo hinan 56.9 ADP 10th highest dtak and ranked 27th on nhl.com still on the top uh Power Play uh unit and the top D pairing four goals 10 assists with three power play assists now I’m ready to not sit him down at the table because Meo hkin I think is doing exactly what Meo hinan does from a fantasy perspective uh I I’m okay with it you know maybe I’d like to see a little bit more out of him but I think he’s I think he’s getting a pass I don’t see think he needs to sit at the table you know what sucks about this list I have two of these guys on my fantasy team right now so that that one of them is me or he’s but I like I like you I’m going to keep him off because I think he’s been playing pretty decent for me he’s been getting the points that I need uh yeah like you said Adam he’s playing like me or Hein in place a lot better than last season that’s for sure but uh yeah I have him off of the uh FES he’s a really good re life defenseman like he’s a guy you want on your team because he plays the position so well but I think maybe his numbers were a little bit inflated last year and most of that has to do with the assists he still like I think there’s a chance that he can regress positively 19% of his shifts start in the offensive zone so one in every five shift that he takes starts on the offensive side so that usually is you know good spot for defenseman to do something he still has that top power play unit and like Dallas is a good team so it kind of you know what I mean again winning cures everything from a fantasy perspective it sucks especially if you took him way up there um but you should have known that you know what I mean like there were other defensemen there and you took Merl hkin in and now we live with it but you know he he’s got he’s up to four goals like Thomas Harley has the same thing I guess like if you you’re you’re mad because like Harley and him have the same amount of points you could have gotten Harley much later in drafts right so like that’s kind of like the thing that maybe you know irks people but hinan to me Dam he’s not he’s not sitting at the table man that’s in at the table he’s fine we talked we talked about this in our mock drafts All Summer Long like he’s he is what he is he’s a guy that okay you miss out on some of those top guys and you’re you know all right you could take him but you know the expectation with him so he’s fine uh let’s see here I got two more on my list couple more in the chat too uh Eric Carlson 92.9 ADP 18th highest daken ranked 33rd on nhl.com two goals 10 assists seven Power Play points doing his job there not terrible numbers but keeping perspective his contract is online on par with William neanders so yes that doesn’t come into play in Fantasy but I mean man I I guess for the draft that where you’re getting him you know in the 90s he’s uh you know getting close to the top 20 dmen there I think it’s okay but I do think maybe he needs to sit at the table and take some lips I don’t know why he’s sitting at the table he is an aging veteran who got a contract from somebody else like Shan Jose gave him the money not Dobie in the gang they were dumb to take the contract but that’s a that’s a different conversation he’s got what he’s got 19 he’s got 19 points most of them are assists That’s What er Carlson is he’s not a 100o player he he he is not he ran wild in San Jose and we do not run wild in Pittsburgh there is no fun happening in Pittsburgh but again another guy who sees about what 15% of his stars in the offensive zone like he’s he’s given the opportunity he’s seeing a little bit of Power Play Time Chris Tang is not really GNA take his spot he’s not the you know the defenseman he was once and the rest of that gang there there’s nobody there that’s going to challenge him offensively as long as he stays healthy he’s going to collect his points he’s probably like if you get 50 points out of him that might be stretching it that’s a good year for Eric Carlson I know it’s not what it was right like it’s not a 100 but if you thought he was getting a hundred I have some magic beans I’d like to sell you later all right we got we got a suggestion here Evan buard I’m not going to throw put him at the table six goals 14 assists uh what do he got you know maybe on the power play he’d like he’s got what uh five assists so maybe you’d like to see a a power play goal or two from him on the point though if that’s where your gripe is sure maybe he needs a little maybe maybe we’re not sitting him at the main table maybe we’re sitting him at the Special Teams table where your special teams imp needs to improve a little bit um but other than that I got no problem with B Shard uh and then uh he also said don’t forget about Faulk and I you know not that there was high expectations for Justin Faulk but once Tory Krug went down that top power play unit spot was supposed to be faul and he did not maintain it I mean roberg is maybe gonna you know take it at some point but at least until Krug comes back whenever that’s goingon to be the case you know paro’s out there too but yeah ful you know had an opportunity to re run the uh top power play unit and just didn’t take advantage of it there yeah Evan Bard has 14 assists 11 of them primary like I get like we probably want to see more from the power play which is fair but like Edmonton’s power play is not operating as it should so he’s kind of like a byproduct I think he would sit at the table uh for his defensive responsibilities because watching him play defense sometimes is definitely like if I was a coach I’d want to pull my hair out of my head but uh the good thing is is in fantasy we don’t care about how we play defensively because we don’t have like you know the plus minus right because we’re in 2024 that’s a meaningless stat and I did like nobody none of you took Bard because he hits and he blocks shots right like you understand you you understood the assignment and so far he is giving me the assignment when it comes to Justin Faulk I could care less homie is irrelevant the whole like the whole St Louis blue line is irrelevant and most of that lineup to me is irrelevant most of it with the exception of a couple of guys right kyou Thomas I’ll even throw B damage in there the rest of that I I could care less deeper Le deeper Banger leagues Jake neighbors has a little bit of value too sure um that’s a deeper Banger League there uh one more guy I want to throw out there before we give our picks for the night and say farewell on this edition of Total Hockey now and I’m probably being a little hypercritical here Brock Faber three goals 11 assists five Power Play points still in the top power play still on the top pairing now on the second power play uh unit uh Jared Spurgeon being the guy the guy that running it on the top unit right now you know and maybe I’m being like I said and I recognize I’m being a little overcritical here on Faber but you know I I was expecting a little bit more from a guy who people were talking about should uh win The Calder over Bard uh which no uh you know in Minnesota too I mean we talk about capriso playing so well there you know maybe they’re just you know bringing him along a little bit slower but he was a guy I was expecting to take a little bit more like a I was expecting like an offensive explosion this year maybe it’s still coming and it hasn’t come yet but you know I I’m still being patient and waiting yeah that’s what I expected you guys sold me on him in the offseason and I drafted him and he’s he’s just not been what I thought he would be I’ve got him in another league so don’t worry I feel your pain there no uh BR Faber can have a seat at the table we have to talk about it right we don’t uh like we don’t come that close to Wi rookie of the year I get again I know maybe we’re like hitting him a little bit here uh he’s got 11 assists nine of them are primary and he’s 12% of his starts in the offensive zone his share of possible lifetime is 40% so he’s on the ice quite a bit I expect a little bit more from him I really do and there’s not many guys on that team that should be beating him out for anything like Jer Spurgeon should be beating him out for any type of power play time I mean Jake Middleton’s having a fantastic year good for him but it’s Jake Middleton you right and then you got John Merill Jonas Brodin Zach BOS like this should be like Faber should be running here he should be running the like the power play he should be putting up some some of those big boy numbers and that’s what I thought I was going to get with Brock Faber and that has just not happened so I thought Faber could probably get you know maybe flirt with the 60o plateau we are we are nowhere there and so I need him to sit down at the table have a conversation be like hey man what happened you know just what happened tell me please it’s funny that you bring up Middleton because like he’s supposed to be the other guy on that pairing but if you’re in a banger League like I am like I actually had to make a decision like which one of these guys am I keeping right now like and a in a in a league where blocks and well Faber will get Blocks he’s not a hit guy he’ll get you blocks in a league where hits matter no hits yeah he’s got to stay like you got to wait that out you got to be a little more patient you know they’re a really good team but you know in a league where it’s a banger League I don’t know like he’s kind of like a fourth defenseman I would think uh so we’ll see and then yeah Luke Hughes gets mentioned here he definitely doesn’t have to sit at the table he was injured start the air he had a really good Rush the other night bringing the puck up the ice I think Luke Hughes is a guy if you can maybe go out and acquire him now in fantasy maybe get before he goes up too much and gets a little too much recognition and I starts to improve there uh he CG saying Chan is a League winner glad uh glad glad I found that out when I had to drop him for JT Miller earlier but I mean that’s more of a death that’s more of a league specific format move Chin’s not a guy I would recommend dropping in other setups it’s just it’s very it’s very rigid in the uh in the fsga league like you really can’t do much there not a lot of flexibility it’s only waivers one IR spot so he unfortunately was a guy I hope it doesn’t bite me but yeah he had to go the the timing of that was just that was just fabulous let’s bring back the capriso comment for but like I you know we we we knew we knew about Carill you know and you’re right Chan is CH I think benefits as well from the Washington Capitals apparently being good this is a team last year that was a fraud and now they’re no longer frauds they’re real which is which is weird but they are so good for the folks over there at in Washington living your living the best life how much noise we made if sov wins the caller well considering he’s plus 1,200 right now for the Islanders at plus 12 excuse me plus 12,000 uh if I at those odds i’ take Oscar off over him but I mean call the rods right now mov minus 230 celebrini plus 200 and then it’s kind of like a huge gap because then you get to what 20 to1 for Lane Hudson 40 to1 for Logan stankoven Dustin W 40 so it’s it’s mof and C he hits a two-horse race for the cder this year he’s going to be saddled down by Patrick Juan that anemic offense that’s that’s what’s going to keep him not winning a Calder because the Islanders are just again if you want to cure insomnia 60 Minutes of the New York Islanders man that’ll do it for you there we go we’ve uh we we’ve I think we’ve done a good job filling up the table here enough that it’s a decent gathering for uh fantasy festiv is for the defenseman and goal tending come back next Thursday and we’ll do some forwards there that’ll be fun because I’m sure we’ll all have names we want to throw on that list and why uh but before we get out of here we always like to do something called TMP where we each pick uh a total a money line or a puck line from the upcoming Thursday night slate that’s going to kick off here in about 45 minutes uh I actually had four picks that I wanted to throw out there tonight uh so uh let’s start with you guys here Chris his Montreal money line pick hit last week uh who do you got tonight we are going with the Islanders that’s right we’re going to fall asleep watching them though uh but yeah they like the Islanders don’t give up goals they’re good defensively and I can promise you that the Chicago Blackhawks are probably not going to score many goals so I’m going to cheat a little bit I’m going to take the Islanders in 60 they probably like I I’m afraid that they might need overtime just because both those teams are so terrible at scoring um but maybe like a two nothing Islanders win that would make me that would make me happy see that’s like the little cheat code there if you if you know you you like somebody on the money line but it’s too Juiced you go for the win 60 and that’ll get you some better odds and just hope it doesn’t need overtime that’s the play there so good on you there and I like the Islanders in that matchup too and who do you got for yours I have the Kings at the Devils over five and a half total goals I think it’s minus 120 uh the Kings have scored three or more goals in their last four games the Devils score goals but they also give up a lot of goals so uh I see this going to uh maybe maybe around six goals around here so I’m GNA take the over on this this one I mean a low five and a half number you might you know they’re expecting not a ton of goals but I mean it’s very POS I mean David Rick’s been playing well Jacob markstrom’s playing all right but yeah I mean it’s I could you know the Kings got into it was a low-scoring game against the Islanders the other night I can see maybe a little bit of a track meet happening there out in Newark tonight uh looking uh so some of the picks that I made here let’s get uh let’s go my first one is I know Boston got trashed the other night in Winnipeg but when you are playing that when you come off an embarrassing embarrassing loss like that an 8 to one yes the Jets are a good team but you should never lose 8 to one going into Seattle tonight Seattle’s a tough team but I think Boston has a good showing tonight coming off that embarrassing loss they’re looking to play better so Boston line at minus 110 uh looking at Chris’s Canadians there uh I like the Pittsburgh Montreal over 6 and a halfus 105 yes monteno has been playing well but Tristan Jerry’s in net so I think that turns into a track meet there uh third Tampa Bay uh win six a regulation win at Calgary plus 105 there Tampa coming off a tough loss in Edmonton the other night I know Calgary plays pretty well but I think that’s a good spot for Tampa to maybe jump them a little bit and this last one I wanted to confirm who the starting goalie was in Colorado tonight uh before I made this pick I think they’re going to be very happy uh to have a guy like Blackwood in front behind them but it is Wedgewood tonight so if it had been Blackwood I would have gone Colorado minus Puck and a half I’m not going to do that so it’s gonna be three plays they’re going Wedgewood tonight I would have thought they would have played Blackwood but maybe not uh so yeah we’re going to go with uh those three those are my three for tonight I uh I have Seattle winning so do what you want with that information because I mean the Boston Bruins are just they’re so bad I I agree they’re not playing well but when you get embarrassed that bad usually you come out guns blazing the next game and it depending on the opponent you know if they were going out and playing a team like Edmonton I don’t know but I feel like uh yeah I’m all about uh Boston uh I got a minus 110 on the money line that’s not bad for the Bruins uh so there we go that’s that’s going to be my pick there uh so Chris uh slapshot podcast this week what do we got coming up nothing tomorrow because I’m still recovering from that absolutely brutal Puck doku that I had to get into uh don’t ask me how it went uh I’m still recovering but we will have new stuff the week after once I have recovered mentally from that absolute grid of HS it came out of me the the the puck doku gods were nice to me for a couple of weeks and then uh last Friday they just like they stopped they were just like no not anymore do this solve this and I was like no ain’t no way I wonder if capriso was one of the answers that you uh played in he was not I had to try to guess players that were undrafted and I was uh I was not good to put itth lightly I was the uh I was the Boston Bruins in Winnipeg but um yeah Subway to Shay podcast Dan you want I heard they signed the big out Fielder this week they did they did Juan stto to the Mets so Sunday at 10:00 a.m. I will have Pat Razo who is the Mets uh beat reporter for Sports Illustrated it’ll be my guest we’ll recap the winter meetings talk about stto and what else might be coming down the line for the New York Mets the way you were framing that for a second I thought you were casually be like yeah we got one coming on 10: a.m. on Sunday like like lead you know what I don’t even think I could promote that cuz I would feel like if I did it would fall through and I’d be uh you know had tomatoes thrown at me or something like fzy Bear yeah there you go and tomatoes a tough stain to get out there so you really don’t want Tomatoes thrown at you take it as a guy who’s learned that you don’t wear a white shirt when red sauce you can’t do it and I got Ripp and riff new episode with uh Mr Jared Moore and myself came out earlier in the week there uh always fun time ripping some cards talking some football or whatever Sports this week we did Hockey baseball it was the day after the stto signings so reaction there and uh baseball baseball football and hockey cards in that episode so that was all fun uh marrick checking in hey guys made it
