all right SNL after a big Texans win not the most impressive offensive performance but the defense was dominant they were fantastic in this one they helped the Texans get to the 20-2 victory Landry locker from the locker room Cody STS Cody STS sh Houston football man defensive dominance in this one Landry Derek Stingley continuing his case to get his first all proo of his career here he’s one of the best defensive players in football not defensive backs best defensive players in football right now he was incredible today it feels like Tyreek Hill only kind of got him once but Derrik Stingley got him twice there in the back part of the game really helped the Texans seal this Victory and the defensive performance and the victory has them knock it on the door of yet another AFC South Championship if the Denver Broncos help him out here in the next uh 30 minutes or so n Derek Stingley you making has been your best player this year and I think you can make a case that uh that will Anderson is second and I mean today those those interceptions that he had today those were Drive Killers you know those those were those were Drive Killers one ended the game one ended Miami’s effort um to get the uh get the job done and there’s there’s a confidence that this team is playing with on defense and especially in the secondary uh and I think it’s gone to Kin bolck Jimmy Ward by the way I know we’re not going to talk about Jimmy Ward as much Jimmy Ward holding down that nickel at a at a very very high level as well for Jaylen Petri he might even be better at it quite honestly um than Petry um this is a really really good defense and Derek Stingley you know we were heading into this this season saying you know what’s the extension going to look like uh it’s going to be very very expensive and and I think he’s going to be negotiating as an allpro Corner because there aren’t too many better than him uh you you can maybe bring two to the to the table uh but Derk Stingley right now is playing as good as any Corner in the NFL he’s incredible he’s going to make over a hundred million if he goes you know four years or more on this next extension he’s going to have the highest average annual value of any quarterback in all of football when he signs his extension and he’s going to be worth it uh the knock on Derek Stingley was not he wasn’t going to be any good or you had questions about how good he was going to be the knock was Kenny stay on the field and I know you’ve talked about it and I know I’ve talked about it we’ve said it before Derek Stingley playing all the games this season Derrik Stingley is goingon to be an all proo and that’s what he’s on Pace for and he finishes this thing healthy and strong and he’s going to be an allpro right there with Pat serane there at the cornerback spot and they’re the two of the best they’re doing it right now Cain’s incredible for Denver then Derek Stingley is awesome for this Texans team Landry this defense is Elite I’m not breaking any news when I tell people that but every single piece of it has something that they can point to and be very very happy with coming out of this one obviously the secondary is the story in this one with K Bullock the interception to steal them three points there at the end of the first half he also had another one on what he said was the exact same look that the Dolphins gave them in the exact same kind of coverage the Texans called the first time where he batted the ball away uh you know trying to get the ball over the middle the Tyreek Hill Stingley is incredible Lasser had his uh moments from a tackling standpoint Stingley sticks his nose in there you talked about Jimmy Ward then obviously the ends at the defensive line are fantastic denil Hunter Will Anderson sack and a sack and a half for Hunter sack for Anderson uh they’re the one of the most incredible pass rush Duos in all the football and then the linebackers played really well Noah aiz alire and a returning Christian Harris and Christian Harris was third in the team in tackles Henry toot to playing a ziz Al shire’s role he was first in the team in tackles had the Green Dot on his helmet was kind of directing traffic and organizing everything just every single level and we didn’t even mention the defensive tackle slowing down whatever Miami’s rushing attack was today every single level of this defense has something to be extremely proud of coming out of this one and they’re in every game that this defense is having a good day like it I don’t care who the opponent is this defense when they’re on they’re in every game as as bad as this offense has looked at times they’re in every game in this one because this defense possesses that type of ability yeah and I think I think the the thing is someone someone asked you know can can this defense defense carry them to you know a Super Bowl or a conference Championship game and and my my answer to that is I mean I would I bet on the Texans win the Super Bowl no but this is a championship caliber defense yep period Point Blank into story and it’s only going to get better once Aziz gets back once Christian Harris gets his gets his legs under him um it’s a championship caliber defense what what do you need to be an elite defense um you need to be well coached they got one of the best in the game in demo Ryan although the offense is um you got to have good Corners they got perhaps the best one of the best Duos uh you have to have ball Hawks uh cin bolock is that and you have to have good linebackers and they have that and I don’t know if this is you know a a defense that can just carry you like that but they are they are good enough now hopefully the offense is able to take advantage of the opportunities they get which they were today um but you don’t want to ask him to do too much um but but today they did enough and the offense did enough well the offense you know they had they had one drive where they actually drove it down the field themselves and it ended in a putrid third and two call uh by Bobby slowick to decide to throw the football to Joe Mixon on a wheel route down the sideline and when they should have you know probably gone for it if that’s the play call on third down they go for they kick a field goal they get three yards everything else was defense are special teams helped they got the Will Anderson sacks set him up on the short field they got the uh Dar Goomba wall fake punt that set him up on the short field they did not drive down and have any touchdown success themselves they needed help on all their touchdown drives and the only real like fully put together Drive they had was that first one and it ended up in a disappointing decision on third down and ended up with a a field goal coming out of that one which has kind of been the the tune for this Texans team and this is this is what they are like this is not what we thought this team was going to be coming in the season like they’re a team where the defense if they’re having a great day the Texans are in it doesn’t matter how you know poorly the offense is playing because the defense can sort of set them up and help them but to have this offensive performance against the Dolphins team that’s that’s frankly not a good defense it was that was that was pretty putrid and thank goodness the defense showed up or or it would have been one of uglier box scores and one of the uglier losses of the season for this Texans team let’s hear from some of the members of the defense I want I want to start with Tim settle I got to catch up with Tim settle Josina Anderson uh was also uh on the scene so you’ll hear some of her questions but Tim settle uh kind of one of the faces of this whole thing look at that game face right there he’s got a he’s got a football in his hand uh if you’re a Texans fan and and you’ve been one of those people who said man this team isn’t nasty enough they’re just not nasty how many times have you he heard that whenever the Texans are Str they don’t have any dogs on there’s not nasty this was like years before right now but just listen to Tim settle everything he has to say about the defense we appreciate y’all for joining us we’re live on SNL uh the new channel be sure to subscribe we’re almost uh a couple of thousand deep with in in less than a week uh and the podcast continues we got you covered take it away Timmy little little chippy out there today uh what was it like getting back and why did it get so heated out there they was mad what Ramy said ask them I don’t know uh I don’t know why everybody want to try us but it’s not going to end your way that you want to try but I mean that’s part of the football game it’s a physical game sometimes people take a personal I don’t know why but don’t get don’t get bully ball Deo said he want to lean on the strengths of the team what what do you think is the is the strength of this defense and this team overall uh it starts with dine you know uh I feel like and then it just layers after that you know uh from each level it’s start line linebackers uh Corners I feel like uh at times of night you know when we weren’t there they were there and when they were there when they weren’t there we were there so I mean it goes hand in hand you know that’s how football operates when y when your teams hting on good cylinders why do you feel like they were trying you you said they shouldn’t Tres why do you feel like they they were trying you I feel like everybody knows that we’re the best dine in the in the league and you know they I feel like they try to get their point across and try to take take us out the game or try to throw us off mentally and you know it doesn’t work but that’s what happens when you’re you’re the top unit in what was the mentality with the Z SH and and obviously losing jayen Petri but still coming out there and feeling like you had that juice that cohesiveness out there on the field just stay together as one you know uh everybody that’s out there deserves to be out there and belongs to be out there and you know uh when your name’s called you step up you know that’s that’s what coach preaches and that’s what we that’s what we go by what was your reaction to the uh hit on granty Bose out there when everyone was just out on the field for a long period of time especially on the heels of the hit that your teammate had that led to a three game suspension who just want to play ball man you know we sworn we getting into the ball you know nobody’s intention we just want to make plays you know if you can’t see that then that’s yall but you know we’re not an intentional team you know we we just want to make plays get the offense back on the field and win are you concerned about uh any sort of discipline on no no we we don’t have no intentional players nobody tries to hurt anybody we’re just playing ball y’all got if anybody got a comment about that y’all weird okay and what about the history that the team also made today as far as just having the head coach in the quarterback um be on the team same team that takes the team to the division twice uh back to back it’s an honor you know uh I feel like stuff like that happened for a reason you know you can’t determine the future but you know the past obviously you know comes up and it’s it’s it’s honorable to have stuff like that you know it’s uh we got way more stuff to achieve throughout this season was it a new en I mean was it a different energy because I don’t know you guys are trying to get back-to-back wins I think for the first time since week six or something like that and just trying to get on that consistent track but it felt like it was a juice from beginning this just one game one one play at a time one quarter at a time one half at a time you know uh you can’t win a game in one play so uh emphasize just just staying consistent and staying together and feel like we did good with that you know uh and then we’re just going to continue to grow on that you g hold this ball on it hey Tak my running back okay okay thank you how are you guys able to get to as as well he’s small you know uh just getting in his face you know uh pushing the pocket you know you you could tell he he startled by a pocket collapse in his face and you know once his first read was taken away you know he kind of gets a little hesitant you know and we felt that and try to just capitalize off that was there kind of a feeling with those interceptions you’re like yeah that’s that’s us we did that you know it I would I would say that but you know I feel like that’s more of you know when we’re not hitting you know our other units are hitting you know that’s that’s a part of good defenses and you know we got to just go you know you never know how to play ends but you know on the back end you know if they doing their thing to to Elite level it it pays off it don’t matter if it’s us or them you’ve been talking about it all year like it’s kind of been kind of a pattern since you’ve been been here and we’ve covered you like lack of respect I would say are are sleeping on you know at the beginning of the year it’s like just wait till y’all see me play and then now you’re talking about the bestie line is it going to be cool to get to kind of measure yourself in the next few days against Kansas City and Baltimore Kansas City and Baltimore know what I do they know what they know what I bring and there nothing’s going to change you know I got a sack on Lamar I have been in hat face I don’t care I don’t care who they got blocking I don’t care who who’s out I don’t care who’s in I got to deal with me that’s just what it is if you don’t respect me I’m gonna make you earn it I’m I’m G make you respect me he’s backing it up though man I mean that’s that’s the that’s the whole point my man is my man is backing it up I freaking love Tim settle I love his mentality and I feel like this defensive line room they they almost need someone with settles personality because denil Hunter and Will Anderson are very business they’re not going to say hey we’re kicking ass hey we’re awesome um neither is Mario Edwards or fley fasi or you know I don’t even know if Barnett can talk we’ve never heard from him I don’t think he can um you know like like those guys aren’t gonna tell you we’re badasses no so you almost need the guy like Tim settle they’re gonna show you they’re gonna show you and then Tim is gonna remind you okay they’re gonna show you and then Tim settle’s gonna remind you with and show you and show you and show you important and show you is important he’s not Lonnie Johnson he had a couple of uh he had a couple of really nice I think tackles for loss you know ripping through guys throwing guys down and and as he mentioned and he was getting he was getting up there in in in his face and I felt like they did an excellent job as a defensive line and especially with those linebackers and some of the really short stuff just to make Tua think for an extra second so that they could get some of the pass rush going so they could get Tua uncomfortable and they got a lot of that they got a lot of that heat up the middle a couple different times so and settle’s a part of that and um you know Heat at him fasi and Edwards early on fodi’s out boom a little bit more Tim settle he’s ready he’s ready for that opportunity man what a what a find he’s been we had we had Miami Dolphins media checking to see when Tim settle’s a free agent because they wanted the Dolphins to sign him which by the way he signed to the Texans next year so two year six we talked about the jonu Smith two for eight I mean you you got Tim settle two for six and I mean it’s just it it’s almost it was almost a joke earlier in the year and and I’ve told him this like I this is not like anything like talking like it was almost like you know first couple and y’all gonna talk to me after I play again we’re like okay buddy um you know like all right dude I mean he’s he’s been a he’s been a key piece and I and I do think there’s a certain level of toughness and look he’s battle tested he’s battle tested he you you know you talk about Joe Mixon and you talk about Stefan Diggs and you know we talked about what they brought to the offense and the team as far as being where you’re trying to get or coming up short and stuff uh Tim settles uh kind of that for the defense too um so we’ll see how that goes same thing with Aziz uh when he comes back that as well there’s there’s a there’s a certain level of toughness and nastiness with this team and I thought they leaned on their strength today uh which was the defense it is a locker room not it’s the Andre locker and Cody stuts natural reset there um I love settle I love y’all weird like that was because you because if you have any sort of that [ __ ] bulock did this on purpose you are weird you are looking for something that’s not there because that hit that kayin bulock delivered that was not a dirty hit that was not the intention of the hit the wide receiver lowered his head kin Buck lowered his head they made a a collision and a connection and and the unfortunate nature of a violent sport happened like I love settle coming to the defense of uh of his teammate and and shutting down that narrative uh that that that the Texans are some dirty team that has you know they’re out to hurt people that’s just not true yeah and I think Joe Cena was kind of trying to push that a little bit but um yeah did not happen uh if if you’re just uh just tuning in in um the uh the Texans are AFC South Champs I think it’s uh it’s going to it’s going to officially be official very shortly um so that kind of changes things but when it comes to like the overall Outlook and this Gauntlet and the opportunity because Pittsburgh lost as well today like it was actually a perfect day uh for the Texans um so they’re GNA they’re going to be in the playoffs they’re going to be hosting a playoff game and um that kind of that kind of makes things look even even a little bit uh little bit better than they’ already been uh we’ll get to the cin Bullock thing in a situ in a minute but uh Texans uh AFC South Champs well yeah this uh yeah they’re about to be AFC South Champions as soon as this one goes Final in Denver the Colts jumped out 10- nothing and scored three points after that almost had seven more but then Jonathan Taylor dropped the ball at the goal line didn’t get in and this AFC it was a you know it was a pretty weird week for the AFC the Chargers got smoked in their game that was a team that a lot of people thought could be nipping at the Ravens heels or the Steelers heels for that five spot but they got smoked Denver’s hanging around they’re playing really good that defense is nasty uh and then Kansas City they won but Mahomes limps out of the locker room and has to leave on a golf cart after he limps out of the locker room he’s got an ankle injury and oh by the way Saturday Houston Texans Kansas City Chiefs they lined up in Kansas City might not be a Patrick Mahomes game yeah and know by the way uh Buffalo is uh back to be Buffalo oh yeah no they’re yeah doing what I mean the offense always was but uh yeah they are they are doing their thing so that’s where we’re at let’s talk about this kayin Bullock thing there was a there was a little bit of controversy uh the big hit uh from [ __ ] bolck um man I I this was this was just one of those vintage bang bang plays uh one of those types of situations I do anticipate there’s going to be a fine but there was no there was no malice there was no ill intent here and there was and I I don’t believe you know the you the the NFL and um the powers the be wanted to make it very clear when they were saying there what they had to say about Aiza Shire they believed he could have avoided this he could have uh stayed away from the contact and I don’t believe there’s anybody that’s going to watch this play and say there’s anything else that kin bullet could have done uh because he’s got to be he’s got to be trying to make the play and protect himself and protect his opponent uh the wide receiver lowers his head and you get some unfortunate contact and that guy has a uh uh you know has to have the medical staff work on him there a little bit and they put a oxygen mask on him and hook him up to a bunch of stuff and they backboard him out of there and he’s in stable condition at a local hospital he left the stadium went to a local hospital I heard the Dolphins media talking about you know where it was and and how far away it was and you’re right down the street from the med center and so I’m sure he got to one of those places pretty quick and it’s getting taken care of and we’ll see what the ultimate but it’s it’s one of those nasty realities of football Landry because we had the long delay and the player gets carded off the field and it’s not like the officials like keep everything stopped and the players get a couple you know moments after the guys off the field to regroup nope the TV guy rolls it defense lines up offense lines up and they get they keep going and you gotta kind of get back Juiced back up if you’re a defense and um you got to get back into this thing if you’re a you’re an offense and it’s just one of those things that happens in football sometimes well let’s hear from him um because you know and not only that oh by the way he had a hell of a play uh they kind of turned things around as well at the end of the first half the uh the interception all rookie performer kayin bck I think that’s safe to say uh let’s hear what uh he had to say about the whole situation everything that went down uh we were live in the locker room uh here was rookie safety kayin bck talking about his very good Lord very eventful day thoughts and concerns for yeah first off uh my play my my intention was never go out there and hurt nobody that’s none of our intention so prayer to him and his fam I hope he’s good and I just was seeing the ball and I was just breaking on the ball and then it’s is Happ to be one of those type of plays are you concerned about any uh discipline just based off of the results of the play uh no not really I mean like I said my intention was never to just go out there and just try to completely take somebody out the game and hurt somebody like so not really from a defensive perspective can you just describe perhaps the difficulty it is to do the type of uh move you know football move that you’re trying to do when a player is sliding changing angles especially in light of you know what happened with your teammate AAS and just just describe it from the perspective of the defensive player when you’re trying to make those hits in real time I mean it’s very difficult for a defensive player cuz we trying to think about protecting them but we also got to protect ourselves too at the end of the day we they can hit us they can hit us wrong and so like you said angles you you thinking too much you trying to protect everybody on the field but sometimes it doesn’t happen like that at the end of the day it’s still a violent game he you kind of take us through your your interception return how similar was it to the play where you almost got the pick at almost the same part of the field uh it was the exact same play the exact same defense call for me first time I I didn’t think I was going to get to it the first time so I kind of batted it down and second time I knew I had to get it that time mhm Kay as you said it is a violent game how did you go back into football mode after everyone praise for him and he’s carded offense uh you got I mean I had to lock back in uh I did my prayers for him also and but at the end day I still had a game to go out there and play and I deal with it after the game K condition they say um how for you guys to know that uh he’s in the hospital apparently going to be okay how much does that you guys say he’s going to be okay say he’s in stable condition that that’s a that’s a that’s a good start right there I’m I’m happy for him uh like I said I was praying that he would be okay and so I wasn’t trying to go out there and hurt nobody Kaylin Deo said that um coming into this game that you all had to make sure that your eye discipline was was on point how much of that um was that today when you all was able to make those not only your interceptions but Derrick stingle too as well uh it was a big part of both our All Pro s Shout Out All Pro but it was a big part uh like we was preaching out the whole week eye discipline cuz we know them boys is moving receivers is moving off there so on the back end we got to have great eye discipline when I when I asked Dereck about you he calls you hall of fame um what oh do you have a ni name for him and just what do you think Pro thing I’ve been calling him that since camp and I think he he going to go get it and then and then what did you think of his day overall just the too big interceptions of what he had today Ste All Pro Ste like he he’s the best at it he’s he’s the best at what he do I feel like obviously there’s a lot of Jubilation in this locker room but are you concerned you know from the perspective of people outside of Houston a greater NFL fan base of any narrative being attached to the way that the players play defense uh and it’s not going just in of everything that’s happened in the last few weeks uh no I’m not concerned we try not to focus on the outside noise like we we know like what happened with diseas and just today so we like I said we we wasn’t trying to go out there and put Targets on people and take people out the game that’s like I said that’s never our attention can you talk about UMO said this us to finish that you guys were able to especially in the Red Zone finish uh oh sorry but yeah that’s a big part of of the game like we always preach the second half we got to finish uh that was key that was one of our keys of Victories you know playing discipline for four quarters cuz like the second half uh we were struggling a little bit so we was preaching that the whole week and trying to get it right finished they did they certainly finished yeah that’s the the Visions are W Anthony Richardson incomplete pass uh Denver’s in Victory formation so that that is a wrap that thing is uh is dunzo and the and the Texans are going to be AFC South Champs so there you go um right off the top from The Bu no no no sweat no nothing the the Texans are AFC style Champions and that that will change a lot down the stretch um at the very least depending on what how they feel about the three seat or whatever uh they’re going to be able to air on the side of caution though like even if you’re playing for that three seed if Joe mixon’s a little bit banged up let him rest uh let Joe Mixon uh figure that out it is SNL postgame show we’re hearing from all the players involved uh we got a lot of time to get into the AFC South thing but another thing I kind of want to touch on one of the big stories was um the offensive line uh and we saw Blake fiser today at right tackle uh I thought he looked pretty good I I thought that I mean there were there’s low lights for sure on the offensive line but that’s nothing new I mean that’s that’s that’s kind of what we’re used to it’s not like there’s some like high standard I thought he did a good job and I thought Titus did a pretty good job at left uh at left guard uh the the not inability to run the ball I think had as much to do with Mixon getting hurt um as anything but so far so good I mean it it was fine it it didn’t it didn’t carry over the momentum that they had from Jacksonville that that was very clear they were not going to be able to replicate that um this rushing attack was awful I know Mixon got dinged up and um but you know he wasn’t dinged up at the beginning and they couldn’t they couldn’t run the I mean they they barely they barely move the the football and they ended up with some third and shorts where they couldn’t get things done they ended up with some horrible first and seconds they gave them third and Longs they couldn’t get things done uh but you know the offensive line was fine uh you know it’s it’s it’s tough to make some sort of large sweeping judgment and I know he played the position last year but you know Titus Howard literally has three practices at left guard under his belt like let’s see if maybe that gets a little bit better as long as he’s there uh but it wasn’t it let me ask you then Landry was it good enough that you would keep this even when ju Scruggs gets healthy or would you go back to the original alignment yeah I would like to see Blake fish or develop like I would like to I would like to like hell if juice is coming back Titus can be the swing tackle he can be he can be hot and ready yeah yeah I want to I want to keep uh Blake fiser out there so I mean if you want to put juice back at guard then let let t us be your swing tackle and swing guard and uh let’s continue to see Blake fiser develop to be honest with you I I would be I would be okay with that I want to see what he’s got I like by the way one of the most underrated plays of the day was him recovering that fumble uh I I thought that was uh Robert Woods fumbled the football on a on a screen and and he Dove on it yeah and I and I thought that was big that was the that was the first points of the game uh allowed the Texans to kind of get off to a lead but I thought Blake Fischer was good really really good I mean I thought I thought the overall offensive line was just fine in this one CJ stra got sacked four times i’ I’d probably put at the very least one of those on him for trying to do too much and hold the ball just there’s sometimes he’s just got to get rid of the football and he and he doesn’t do it and um this was this was not the day to try to to hang on and and make something happen as much as CJ Stout did obviously the mobility LED itself or lent itself to the two touchdowns they were both scramble drills where he kind of kept things alive he had the one really impressive play where the guy was sacking him and he he stayed up and was able to get rid of the ball for a first down but um there was there was enough heat that you know it was just a a fine offensive line performance this group I would think is going to be on the field again next week uh and probably the week after that or for the game after that I should say so this this this should be your out of the bye-week group for the next few weeks and uh I would expect there’d be a little bit more and they’ improve a little bit uh off of today’s performance well the other thing is I think Titus Howard actually has experience going against Chris Jones a guard and I don’t know if that’s anything they take into account on this but one of his better games he actually I mean statistically he went pretty he played pretty well against Chris Jones when he played guard um and this was when they randomly wanted to start Charlie heck remember that remember they randomly wanted to start Charlie heck at left tackle and they moved Titus to to guard um two seasons ago and I don’t think Jones really did anything I think Kansas City ended up winning it on a was it a McKinnon touchdown like in the in late in the game or whatever the hell it was it ended up being a way closer game than we anticipated um oh was that was that the game they were just like beating momes up and the game was like way too close yeah but that but Titus Titus did a good job against Chris Jones so I I don’t know if they’re thinking that far ahead I don’t even know if Deo really is aware of that I’m sure like that might be something that cerio would bring up um but with with Kansas City coming up not the worst thought to have someone who had success against Chris Jones going against him so I mean he’s look I’d rather Titus Howard be out there than Zack Thomas or Kenyan green and they clearly don’t want to play Kendrick green so he’s not getting the opportunity so I’d rather I’d rather Titus Howard be out there at left guard than the options that they do have right now conversation when Scruggs gets back and I would think they’ll probably put Howard back at right tackle but it’s not the worst idea if you want to plop him there let him know hey you’re finishing the season here and this is what we’re riding with that’s not that’s not the worst idea if they want to do that and then keep the youngster out there at right tackle and I mean fiser is eventually going to be one of the tackles for this team might as well uh start getting him some of that key experience as well as he’s not bad it’s not you’re just getting him experience to get him experience like he’s solid’s he’s solid he’s gonna be good I mean there’s a reason that they took him when that wasn’t looked at as you know a position of luxury uh there’s a there’s a reason that they elected to to take him and I think he’s I think he’s a damn good player uh and I I I liked what I saw today and and I’m intrigued to see uh what we see for the remainder of of his time uh out there I thought it was I thought it was really really good really really good this has been a uh it was topheavy but it’s this has been an excellent rookie class and Kamari Lasser is fantastic uh he’s he’s really good at corner it’s it probably gets covered up a lot because drik Stingley is one of the best in the game right now but Kamari ler is really good and you look at some of the stats and when teams do challenge him and throw at him uh he’s been excellent kayin Bullock obviously is uh awesome we’ve talked about him and and some of the impressive stuff that he’s been able to put together and now you’re going to get a chance to put fiser on the field and give him an opportunity to showcase what he’s about and a lot of those tackles that that went right after him that many people believed were as good or better than him they have not done very well he’s had he’s had better results than a lot of those guys and I thought that was the encouraging thing about the whole pick uh going back to it was and guys we’re going to talk about the division like trust me SNL 9 o’ tomorrow that’s going to be a big picture division thing we’re focusing on the game we’re hearing from the players we appreciate you for uh for coming through as well uh straight from the stadium I know it was a very uh stressful uh process uh for Cody to get the writing done on the greatness that is hou football and hell I’ve been yapping for an hour 10 and now here we are so there’s a lot of moving Parts but quick side quick sidebar for you it was added even more stressful because I had to save a guy’s life leaving the stadium what do you mean he he was passed out on the sidewalk out cold and I had to wait until somebody was like oh there he is and I was like what do you mean there he is and this lady came over and I had to pick this guy up nearly broke my back had to pick this guy up put him in his car oh wow he was out he’d had way too much fun he he he must have known the AFC South was coming wait we won huh boy he he GNA wake up tomorrow in A Whole New World wait what no way World wow really stingly huh um uh but the to go back to the Blake fiser point I thought that was one of the more encouraging things well discouraging depending on how you trust the evaluation of offensive linemen um but I thought it was encouraging that when they took him it wasn’t like a because with Lasser I don’t know what I don’t know if they would have taken Lasser like had de had Kool-Aid mckinstry had all those Corn’s been there right I don’t know whether they do that but honestly I don’t know um maybe maybe it’s possible I mean they like his makeup and stuff so possibly uh but we did we don’t we’ll never know uh but with um with fiser it was before the tackles went so it was like you had your pick of all of them and they really liked him you already have a lot invested in the offensive lineman and I’m I’m glad to see him out there man I hope I hope he’s a starter for the remainder of his rookie D I want him I want Blake Fischer out there as much as POS possible and and take this for what it’s worth for like kind of how they evaluate kin bulck and and where they kind of thought he could B2 if you remember cerio just sort of slid it in when he was talking about fiser and bulck uh about both those selections they considered taking Bullock with the pick that they used on fiser and then they ultimately went with fiser and so then I think you you’ve been the one to point this out rarely are they as excited for a draft pick as when Bullock was there for them again in the third round no that was the most excited I’ve seen that war room yeah and so they’ve they’ve done they’ve done an excellent job uh fiser was was very ready for the the moment today uh he was kind of he was kind of koi explaining like when he knew he was gonna get the opportunity he he he protected the team he’s like oh they told me at walkth through Saturday yeah okay pal they you knew Wednesday when the when the media shuffled out of there after Yukon Cornelius had lined up at left guard hey that was a veteran he handled that like a veteran though that’s a great job by him but he knew Wednesday he was the he was the right tackle for this team well let’s let’s hear from the man himself let’s hear what he had to say about it here was Blake fiser you see all the like the looks and stuff that um you know they give us in practice throughout the week so you’re kind of prepared um off of certain things where certain people are on the field so um you kind of just key yourself in before the play to like you know like what’s going on what have we seen in practice this week and then you just kind of go from there and then you know there’s any mishaps or mis cues and you know just one play at a time and you move on to the next and you get back to the sideline as he said just kind of talk through how do you feel like you guys did today CJ and doing a good job um yeah I feel like you know I feel like we had a solid game um I mean I don’t remember uh you know everything you know top to bottom U you know just I was just you know trying to you know do my job for you know the guys out there um you know that I’m playing next to um you know they trust me so I just trying to make sure that you know I’m doing my piece um you know obviously there’s a a couple sacks there um we obviously want to you know correct that and fix those um but other than that I feel like we had a solid day how does that part feel that they do trust you and this is the games these are the games that count yeah um I mean they I think it’s just a test of just the work I put in in practice um you know going up against the Neil will um you know all the other all the other guys that we have along the D line um just the work that we put in um I think it’s just the consistency that’s one of the biggest things for me that I’ve been trying to work on is just my consist consistency um I feel like I’m a talented player and just put trying to put it all together like how do you feel like you all like being on that island now because you didn’t really get a lot of help you know you pretty well left you left you one onone today with them just with all how do you feel overall not getting a lot of help getting chipped and everything yeah um I felt good um you know like I said uh just consistency um you know just doing your job doing everything um you know I mean it comes with it you know no hell being out on an island by yourself you know you’re a tackle in the NFL I mean that’s what your job is that’s what they expect you to do so um I mean yeah I think that’s about it Blake Fischer for you after BL Fisher rookie rookie but he approaches things like a veteran you know he protected the team by saying he learned and walk through that he was going to be the starter and um he don’t he does not give you a lot I mean he’s not g to go super detailed into it uh but hey when you when you have a solid performance you don’t have to go super detailed into it definitely don’t uh let’s hear from uh Lasser in a sec um but but the other the other thing here is I think it’s going to be interesting to see how Deo kind of plays this whole uh division thing and how he handles it and how how that changes the way that maybe they the roster management Etc um and how much he really Embraces it is a three seed uh all that but I want to hear from Lasser uh ler dog um literally and uh figuratively dog it was quite funny too because Lasser and Bullock are right next to each other in the locker room Bullock’s talking and you and you can hear Lasser when we played the bullet clip he’s like kind of like you know had some like interjections and some addins there and was saying yep uhhuh uhhuh and Bullock’s done and everybody just turns their cameras to last he’s like you want to talk to me like yeah we want to talk to you you stayed around you stuck around so here was Kamari Lasser on the uh big day for the defensive backfield job the defense did two 21 that’s all I got to say there nothing else to say 2 4 21 and the rest of the guys on the defense we awesome members we go out there we play hard we physical we play for each other we play Fast how good is Sting he the biggest literally he the biggest best player I seen in a long long time all what have you learned from sting over the course of the season I would say sting ain’t going talk to too many people I get to talk to him a good bit and it’s just like he just be giving me little nuggets like stuff that he learned over the years and just giving me games so I just be trying to soak it up and uh you know I’m a Savage too so I go out there and play and whenever he make a play it turn me up and whenever I make a play a turn them up which just feet off each other how much credit do you give to the front for kind of pushing two off the spot setting you guys up to be able to intercept those football man that front they some Savages that whole front seven backers included they are some Savages man I know on the back end like man I know if I just do my job or if I just you know disrupt the time in a little bit somebody going to go get that quarterback so it’s just it gives us a lot of confidence you know Kamar when you came into this team being drafted did you expect your rookie year to go the way that it’s going now especially with playing on the top five defense like this man uh I would say you I pray for this since I was 5 years old so I mean it’s all just comeing to fruition you know I always say you know growing up there was a lot of stuff that you know you had to go through to get to this point but uh I always say you know we work for this um and now we just living out our dreams what does it mean to you knowing that coach Dean said that you and kayin were were the missing pieces to take this defense to the next level I mean it means a lot you know that’s that’s boss man that’s a head coach and uh just for him to you know kind of say that it means a lot you know it’s a credit to you know our work and uh you know how you know we come in every day and just put our head down and go to work and that’s what we going to continue to do has it kind of hit you yet that you’re only a couple scenarios away from potentially ping in the playoff spot man uh I be in my own world so much that I haven’t even thought about it but uh you know that’s the goal you know we want to go want to go in the playoffs you know that’s the goal and then we want to go super far Play We want to you know the way this defense is working with pass rush and the pass coverage compliment each other is this kind of the way you draw it up and for man I mean I think you know ex ex and no are cool but you got to go out there and execute and play so I mean just knowing that I got some members right side me 10 other members that’s ready to go at any moment I got to go you know we got to go crazy having Christian does that give you a guys a boost to have his speed in the defense Christian man see har is one of the ones uh great to have him back man he he’s so fast physical and then he’s a good leader as well so I mean just having him out there knowing that he’s out there flying around swimmer helps me all right there you go Mari Lasser well he he he talked about Christian Harris there that they certainly didn’t ease Christian Harris into this thing they they threw he was right out there from the jump they threw him right out there he started on defense first defensive snap out there and he was flying around and third on the team in tackles in this matchup and they did not ease him in demo Ryans couldn’t help himself putting that that level of athlete at linebacker on the field just couldn’t help himself no he couldn’t and I I can’t blame him I’m excited to see what it looks like once they get uh get full strength so that’s what uh the uh the players that you might not hear from as much uh had to say uh on the uh uh in the postgame show we already heard from CJ and we heard from uh Deo in the locker room postgame show we’re going to have a lot more unique content like this for y’all um this is the first time that we’ve gone live during a postgame show uh there were a lot of moving Parts uh but it’s just it’s just the beginning and this is the first week of the channel and we appreciate y’all for uh for rolling through for joining us uh on this Texans AFC South Champs uh the picture is clear like the complete disaster has been avoided um the improvements that they set out to say that they wanted to make uh so far so good when it comes to the bye as far as um Red Zone taking advantage of Red Zone opportunities outside of the the you you could nitpick the the final one of the second half but you had 12 seconds you at the five it’s kind of like one of those awkward situations uh but they they took advantage of that and the the strength of this team undoubtedly is the defense and the defense took him home so so far so good and know by the way you’re in the playoffs your division champs demo Ryan two years two AFC sou championships um it’s not something that you hang your hat on it’s not the ultimate goal uh but you feel good when uh when you win your division especially when it’s easy he’s just the sixth coach since 2,000 to win the division in each of his first two seasons the uh Texans tweeting that one out recently so there you go so good stuff good stuff good stuff from you man I appreciate you uh be sure to subscribe be sure to like be sure to ride along and be sure to always remember when it comes to this Texans stuff we’re all in it together eat good sleep good be good we’ll talk Texans again tomorrow at 9:00 am SNL you don’t want to miss it
