[Music] one [Applause] shot welcome back to the team de beat Miami Heat podcast your One-Stop shop for daily Miami Heat content my name is Amir before I get into today’s episode just want to thank everybody for following the channel getting really close to 2,000 subscribers so if you guys do enjoy the content please hit the Subscribe button it would mean a lot to me so for today’s episode going to talk about more or Jimmy Butler rumors so new article came out on Bleacher Report recently saying that no serious offers have been made yet for Jimmy Butler and the heat now are seriously listening whatever that actually means so again I’ve been saying there’s not a lot of new information we all knew this offseason that Jimmy buter would potentially be a part of trade rumors because ber has an expiring contract wanted an extension with the Miami he essentially would have got one extra year outside of next year’s player option and he wanted 113 million over the next two seasons so right now he has that option for 52 million and I’m sure the Miami Heat don’t want Jimmy Butler to leave and not get any return so that’s kind of like the worst case scenario the the best case scenario are you keep Jimmy Butler he somehow agrees on a team friendly deal to see if he actually will be willing to help this team win and sign other players kind of like Jaylen Brunson who’s a lot younger who’s in his prime Jimmy’s on the outside of his prime he’s still in his prime technically I would say the absolute Twilight of it but a player like Jaylen Brunson took a 100 million less and he wanted to win a championship so he was doing that to sign players like C Bridges and and other folks so if Jimmy is willing to do that then I could see him staying with the Miami he and potentially retiring with the Miami Heat but also I could see Jimmy wanting to opt out and Test free agency and if that’s the case the Miami Heat need to cash in I don’t want Jimmy ber to be traded but again if I was the Miami Heat and thinking long term the next five to six years then it makes sense to trade Jimmy B to get draft Capital to get a young upand cominging type of player and then getting some friendly contracts or expiring contracts but either way they’re basically saying now it feels like it’s a matter of when and not if Jimmy Butler is gonna get traded this season and I don’t know who knows what’s gonna happen but on Saturday David Aldridge of the athletic reported that the Miami Heat and Butler seemed or seemed destined to part ways via trade at some point this season he noted that could change if the he offered him a two-year $13 million extension but calls such a possibility not like like I said Pat Riley said hey you haven’t been available like prove it to us we’re not going to give you that extension you got to be healthy and you got to help us compete so we’ll see doesn’t seem like he’s going to get that extension while nothing has approached a serious offer yet Aldridge reported the heat are indeed seriously listening for the first time so that’s obvious like of course you have an aging Superstar or playoff Superstar Jimmy Butler if you’re the Miami Heat why would you not seriously listen like again packages are going to vary the amount of teams where Jimmy Butler can go to is going to be limited especially if he’s a free agent there’s going to be no one that has cap space besides the Brooklyn Nets and why would you want to go to a rebuilding team for your last few years just for a a couple bucks so I don’t see Jimmy B going anywhere honestly making more than that $52 million so it’s gonna be hard for me to see him testing free agencies so I think he opts in at worst or gets traded I think those are the two options if he does opt in next year has that $52 million option then the Miami Heat could also seriously entertain trading him as he’s going to be an expiring contract that Following season so um Butler again like I said has that 52.4 million option for the 2025 season and yeah without a trade I mean Jimmy Butler again can decline that and just outright leave the Miami Heat and I don’t think the Miami Heat are going to be happy about that like the front office has made their mistakes they’ve been successful but if they decide that the Miami Heat have no chance to beat the Celtics this year and other strong competitive teams in the west like the Thunder then maybe they do trade Jimmy baller who’s 35 years old and try to retool so they can have a quick you know semi- rebuild and build around Jimmy or build around bam and Tyler and Tyler’s been playing amazing this year so according to to bleacher and to David Aldridge says it seems like things are trending toward a trade I don’t know if I believe that but um it is very possible which will make the five-time all NBA selection player um one of the biggest storylines or excuse me that’s Allstar not all NBA but um it’s going to be one of the biggest story lines up until February during that trade end line so um yeah I I don’t know if it’s imminent like David Aldridge is saying but it’s very possible and it does seem like there is more noise there’s more reporting around this and it seems like the Miami Heat are just waiting to see if they get a good enough offer that they’re willing to take to finally end the Jimmy baller build so anyway that’s all I have for today’s episode thank you for watching hope you guys have a good one and again don’t forget to subscribe to the channel
