just wanted to talk that’s [Applause] all all right welcome back everybody welcome back I am here tonight with MLB content creator extraordinaire Robbie Hyde who is unfortunately dawned himself in Red Sox gear we got a little bit of a rivalry night here but uh don’t hold that against him don’t hold that against him how’s it going man we’re doing good man we’re doing good no I I you know over the years since I’ve you know done a Channel of mine and um you know been kind of going through all of it over baseball for the last what four and a half five years the one thing I’ve con consistently gotten was uh praise from Yankee fans believe it or not because I really try to look at things as as down the middle as I can believe it or not uh my best friend who I basically grew up with is a massive Yankee fan he’s a Bernie Williams lover uh so we have we live together one point uh so I think having that friendship with him over the years it’s kind of made me uh not just respect the Yankees more over the years but it’s kind of forced me to look at things down the middle because he is the same way right he’ll be he’ll say to me all the time like why aren the Red Sox doing anything what are they doing they have the money go get some star you know so we kind of look at both uh we look at things down the middle so I hear you the the best man at my wedding best man at my wedding was a Red Sox fan all right so let’s talk a little bit bit about uh who’s out there you are keeping your ear to the grindstone obviously you cover all of Major League Baseball I’m more of a Yankees Focus Channel but you do have a uh a Red Sox podcast Fenway faithful which just launched so good luck with that but let’s talk a little bit about some of these names that are out here uh does anyone stand out maybe from the free agent list that you think is a uh a good fit for a uh a team maybe that’s in contention with you know Yankees Red Sox or for the Yankees and Red Sox themselves you know I gota I got to shred carefully here right because we had the Full Throttle thing last year hopefully that is done over with never coming back right but you know there have been a lot more positive a lot more positive words this offseason for the Red Sox they’re more aggressive you’re still kind of the interest Kings until you do something they pulled off the big tray for garri crochet but anyway I don’t want to I don’t want to I never want to sound too greedy as a Red Sox fan because you know it’s easy for me to say oh we’re going to get this player this player you know over the years I think the Yankees have been more like that the Red Sox have been like that weedy point right so but you know I don’t want to get too greedy because you know again we’re not too far removed from the Full Throttle but if I have my eyes on a few guys here right Corbin Burns right there uh they need a clearcut ace at the top of the rotation Tanner ha good year for him last year you know took a big step forward he showed a lot of good things but really I mean you’re looking at him more of a two or maybe a three in a rotation depending on who’s in front of him uh but you need a Workhorse guy in Corbin Burns John Henry over the years usually doesn’t sign off on the big money free agents or Big Money free agent pictures out there minus David Price um but not usually so I don’t know if we’re gonna get him or not but another guy that I see teoscar Hernandez I think that is someone that could be realistic um you know we’ve been hearing Dodgers for a while now the Yankees got brought up at one point I think the Red Sox are a perfect fit for him he’s always hit well at Fenway Park big right-handed bat for the monster there um they need a right-handed bat in the lineup it makes so much sense I think out of all these free agents here you’re probably looking at Tay Oscar being the most realistic maybe Anthony sandir switch hitter we’ll see kind of I don’t know it’s going to be interesting when it comes to how long of a contract he’ll want teoscar I could see the Red Sox maybe you know if it doesn’t go past four years I think they could maybe see something there and then uh we’ve already list off one more guy I would love it who knows if it happens Alex cor would love him uh based off of the words that he has said recently Alex bregman uh you know they could use a guy that could be a bit versatile around the infield they could use Improvement at defense with third base Raphael DES in my opinion is more of a DH maybe you could do a Kevin Kevin uus kind of a thing where you stick him at first base uh we’ll see but in the end you know I think the Red Sox there’s definitely free agents here that’ll make them better um will they spend I don’t know I can’t see anyone else in our division adding Corbin Burns I don’t think he’s going back to Baltimore uh nobody wants to play in Canada rays are obviously out on it so you know the uh the Red Sox probably the biggest threat there I don’t think the Yankees are in on him I’ve heard that San Francisco could be a good fit uh Rosenthal seems to think that’s where he’s headed uh I guess was Susan slusser was on foul territory today she was basically hinting at that being a good matchup you know apparently he’s got a house in Arizona likes it out west but he would be a pain in the ass to have in the division for even longer because he was tough this year uh you know Jack flarity could be a good good fit for you guys uh de Oscar Hernandez I like that idea for you guys uh obviously um the Dodgers want to bring him back I figured that when they missed out on stto you would hear about teoscar reigning right away he never did but you talk about a guy who’s tailor made for Fenway with that swing um abut what’s the Thought on uh Roki szaki with you guys have you guys been linked with him at all I think you know you always have that link with the guys from Japan coming over because you know we had dice K Mania way back when you know we’ve had Hideki okima kosi weara before so you’re always going to have that connection right same thing with the Yankees right they’ve brought in guys from Japan before that have been successful so I feel like Red Sox Yankees they’re always going to be connected with the guys from Japan no matter what uh we’ll see you know we’ve been seeing some things with you know Roki and his possible Market maybe he’s more of a midmarket kind of a guy small Market honestly I’ve been kind of thinking that way the entire time you know someone he’s the age of a you know a guy that’s in you know what double A he’s obviously so good he’ll be at the major league level when he comes over but uh you know he’s so young so I could imagine this is a guy where you know he maybe goes to a bit of a lesser Market Otani went to the angels instead of a team like the Dodgers I know they had the whole DH thing but you know he go to the Yankees or anything like that so I wonder if Roki maybe takes a bit of a a step back when it comes to the market could you see him maybe go to a team like the tigers where they’ve had you know a bunch of advances with their pitching development over the last few years um Kansas City I I could see something like that Kansas City I mean they they gave the Yankees a a fight in the division Series this year I felt like almost every one of those games could have gone either way at one point uh and it would terrify me to see him you know added to that that stable uh yeah so I mean Tanner Scott obviously is a uh option the big Market teams are gonna be in on him I could see him going to Boston I think the Yankees are probably out because they got Devin Williams unless they’re trying to build like some kind of Super Bowl pen but they still need offense so I think you know uh I can’t see them going to the Orioles they don’t seem to want to spend what is with that they got these new owners and they’re just not spending I guess there was a report recently you know you got people out out there that don’t really buy it too much but it was something uh from picture list where where they have a pretty big Following over there they’ve always put out pretty good content right um especially when it comes to the analytics you know with pitching and whatnot but they had an interesting story over the weekend where supposedly you know the uh the new owner of the Orioles he is given the green light to spend but mikeias I guess doesn’t really seem to want to according to the sources that they’ve been talking to you know who knows everyone’s been really tough on sources over the last couple of years and rightfully so because Otani was on a plane stto was looking at apartments in Boston uh some guy named Mick who the heck is Mick uh you know playing a bit of a bit for his podcast you know so I get it people people are questionable for you know these reports but that’s an interesting one if you go to that it’s on picture list there’s a lot of very small details right it’s it’s like whoa how would you make that up right you know yeah saying we Mike Elias he wants to build something from the ground up where he wants to prove to people where he doesn’t have to buy a World Series that he can build it with Player Development right so very interesting article you know know if you don’t want to believe it I’m I think that’s fair but it’s interesting you know they got Tyler O’Neal but where is Corbin Burns you know I I thought that was a slam dunk like to bring him back you know like I but who knows so one other Domino that we haven’t seen fall that I think could lead to some other you know pieces falling into place is Christian Walker uh Texas was supposedly interested in him I think that would open up a market for Nathan La that uh the Yankees would be interested in I’ve seen a number of teams in the Mariners were apparently interested in Walker have you heard anything is there do you have a favorite in mind for Walker I think with the Mariners the thing that’s going on with them Alex spear the Boston Globe he’s been pretty plugged in with everything going on with the red sock and the Mariners talking some trade lately right Luis Castillo’s popped up uh I guess the Red Sox have been poking them about maybe Bryce Miller or Brian woo Who I’ve been wanting to come to the Red Sox for over a year now I think those guys would be perfect but the Mariners don’t want to give up pitching so I don’t know but it looks like it looks Luis Castillo who is owed with the vesting option if you count that near hundred million over the next four years so the thing is with the Mariners is they’re looking to maybe move that so they can go after someone like a Christian Walker right pitcher friendly Park they could use a power guy there a right-handed power bat would make a lot of sense but I think other things have to happen with the Mariners for them to go after someone like Walker or maybe Pete Alonzo I don’t know um seems like Walker would probably be the more appropriate fit for them MoneyWise but uh you know the Nationals have been plugged in a little bit with Christian Walker I’ve been thinking here with the Nationals right I think either Alonzo or Walker would be perfect for them right they’re about to maybe put their toe into a competitive window and uh got some young players I think a good veteran guy like one of them would be perfect they need power um so I could see the Nationals maybe coming in I don’t the Pirates would be perfect for chrisen Walker but they’re not going to spend money right he’s a Pittsburgh guy they need a first baseman perfect but that’s not going to happen so in my opinion I feel I think the Yankees could make a lot of sense I do want to ask you your opinion about the first base option with the Yankees because you got Ben rice DJ lahu I don’t know how do you feel about that I feel like Walker would be a great fit for them but uh what’s going to happen with DJ Ben rice there well DJ I think is finished it be it’ll surprise me if he makes it out of spring training next year uh and makes the team he’s just he’s been awful since he’s started having foot injuries I mean it’s just completely altered his swing he’s got no thump anymore Ben rice has a good swing but he’s also got a couple of gigantic holes in his swing which were exposed this year he’s also kind of a novice at first base I like Christian Walker’s peripherals you know everything that I’ve looked at highlight wise he looks great but we’ve been burned by too many guys at 34 35 years old you know you know Beltran McAn and then you know tashera A-Rod all these guys DJ I just want to stay away from signing anyone who’s a bit too old I really like Cody Bellinger who’s been you know in the news a little bit I like him for first base um yeah but I also like him in the Outfield he could play two positions I’d have no problem you know plugging him in left field or at first base uh but I think I’d rather go with an established established bat over there um but it might they might be stuck with Ben rice if they sign Bellinger are unable to add a different first baseman then you go with rice and and just hope that he hits uh you know other than that I mean I haven’t heard much about Walker it’s just kind of one of those pieces that you know I think once he settles in you’re gonna see see some pieces move let’s talk a little bit about trade candidates because we got a lot of names here Aon what’s the latest you’re hearing on him well we have been getting kind of you know Alex spear like I said has been plugged in with the Mariners Sean McAdam of Mass Live he’s been diving in a little bit more it seems with the Cardinals front where Aeron is consistently a name that comes up with his articles that he puts out um late the latest for the Red Sox in Aeron a well we heard the Astros rumor not too long ago and uh where that what was that a few days ago where it looked like maybe that was getting serious but then everything went cold by the way everything was just cold today like there was no news I was just I felt depressed today like it was awful like I was sitting around just staring at my phone and nothing happened anyway uh but arado supposedly the Red Sox have been discussing him as maybe an option at first Bas which I think is ridiculous the only thing I think that could even be true with that is more he’s like a backup at first base if they did acquire him he would be like the second option on the the depth chart where CU I I’m getting the feeling you because you’re consistently hearing the idea of Rafi moving off a third base right uh that has just been a it’s been coming up a lot right Tristan casus has come up a lot in trade rumors not just this offseason but it feels like every offseason casus is popping up right he popped up a couple years ago with the Marlins and uh now it’s it seems like every week he’s popping up so I’m getting the idea that maybe the Red Sox really want to try and use casus as a trade piece to get some pitching and they probably think Rafi like I said earlier can be someone like Kevin ukas um Yankee Legend Kevin ukas my goodness um but he can move over to First maybe cor cor loves versatility he loves guys that can move around and uh he probably in my opinion cor was a guy that played everywhere so he probably thinks rafay can do it no problem so I don’t know I guess there hasn’t been a conversation but Aeron in my opinion would be more of a backup at first base you know if you needed him there for a day or two or whatever you know I don’t I don’t know I think he wants to play every day but speaking of Tristan casus I mean 24 years old gonna be 25 soon 65 244 that kind of Swing plays well at Yankee Stadium too bad we’re not the GMS we could swing a little swing a little deino here um Luis Aras we we’re hearing more about him on the trade market I’m not like Blown Away by him I know a lot of people love the batting average and they hear the batting title this and and and you know three next Tony Gwyn that but he doesn’t do anything else well he can’t field I have a friend who’s a Padres fan he was he would text me all the time like this guy’s atrocious on defense he ended up dhing a lot um I just where do you see him going do you think the Padres is are gonna hang on to him see think they’re gonna move him supposedly they’re kind of you know putting him out there to make make him available I I the only team really anytime I think second base I I think the Mariners honestly I think he would be perfect for that lineup I think they need a guy that can just get on base make a ton of contact that’s ex that doesn’t strike out that he is the perfect guy for the Mariners in my opinion uh glaber Torres that’s that’s your guy I’ve been saying he needs to go he needs to go to I wonder where glaber’s gonna go that’s an interesting one uh I guess he popped up as a third base option for the Nationals n yeah yeah I I can’t see he was unwilling to go to third when the Yankees traded for javz Chisum so you know I think he just wants to play second base I think the Mariners could be good fit for him but yeah I I I agree with you Luis rise you put him in Seattle with that big Park probably hit 350 uh Luis Castillo on the market today that’s interesting uh yandi Diaz I think he’s probably gonna get mve I can see yandi Diaz going to Boston honestly yeah oh man you know again it really depends do they move casus that’s really what it comes down to um again there you know this right we over all the years that we’ve seen the rumors with Yankees and the Red Sox anytime there’s smoke there’s usually something to it right usually see something happen we’ll see if anything happens with kasus but yeah I could see yandi uh maybe being a guy possibly uh we’ll see I think for the Red Sox they really would like to add a power bat um from the right side you know yandi they could probably get a bit of pop out of him um I I’d be okay with that honestly uh we’ll see so let’s talk a little bit about Juan stto because you mentioned it um the Red Sox were in on Juan sto apparently he was a big priority uh there was for two or three days there like you said there was some smoke there was some chatter and it seemed like it could be real I’m not going to lie I was sweating it a little bit um I would much rather he went to the Mets than the Red Sox because I think he would have absolutely destroyed Fenway Park with that wall and the way he hits the ball the other way it would have I mean he really would have hit 360 with about 45 home runs a year like it would have been insane but um he hit pretty well in City Field and he’s getting paid a lot of money he’s getting paid I think too much money for even a generational type of hitter yeah great hitter as he is I think we both dodged a bullet your thoughts yeah I would say for the Red Sox they weren’t even they weren’t even supposed to be in it you know what I mean like they were like coming into the offseason top guy top bat on my list was teoscar so once sto came up I’m like oh okay what is this okay I’m excited all of a sudden um but I would say for the Red Sox I would say it’s probably somewhere in the middle where they could have dodged a bullet but maybe they could have also used him as well because I felt like they do need a guy right a face you know someone that you can Market someone that you can Rafi doesn’t want to be that guy right Rafi has always been you know more reserved I would say he likes to go get an ice cream cone after the game and uh he likes to kind of keep to himself a little bit that’s just how he’s always been uh you know Alex cor has tried to push that with him but you know doesn’t really see himself that way I think stto would have been a really cool addition uh it’s very possible that at the end of that deal probably wouldn’t have been great uh you know that’s probably how it would go anywhere uh I would say for the Yankees you know I could see the argument there too where they could uh they dog bullet would have been great to have him around but you always think of the back end you know it’s tough um I think the Yankees more so probably dodged a bullet than the Red Sox because the Red Sox I think needed him someone like him more if that makes sense so yeah I mean is as great as it would have been to continue to watch that Tandem and it was it was an unbelievable tandem to watch him and Aaron judge oh year 99 home runs combined stto walking judge hitting a two-run shot in the first inning happened about eight times it was crazy but I you have to fix the roster in multiple areas right I mean even if you commit 47 million to this guy there’s no way you pick up a Max freed you probably don’t pick up a Devin Williams I mean there’s other guys that you need and look the Dodgers just proved that you can win a World Series without Juan stto on your team right if you have a really wellb built roster you can beat Juan sto in the World Series exactly so um by the way uh just got some breaking news tasar Hernandez sounds going back to the Dodgers according to uh Dave Robert says they’re very close to resigning him so uh oh wow stand stand by on that hopefully we’ll have some news here unfortunately uh for the Red Sox well well darn you brought up a name yeah brutal you brought up a name there I’m actually uh I’m I’m wondering what’s going on here with Max freed are we getting a little worried about a lack of an announcement here What’s happen no no no so actually um I heard he’s traveling he’s out of the country and that’s why they were having their um meetings via Zoom uh he’s supposed to return to the country um I think right after Christmas at which point they’re going to do uh you know all the Medicals and stuff so I don’t think he’s had his Medicals yet uh and that’s why everything’s been kind that’s just what I heard um but yeah so I’d imagine we’ll we’ll hear something about that soon uh Yankees Red Sox you know in my opinion baseball is at its best when the Yankees and Red Sox are duking it out you know much more so than the Yankees and or come on uh 99 and 2003 and 2004 were some of the best you know seasons of my life obviously 04 didn’t go the way uh you know I it’s a shame they canceled the series the ALCS after three games I wish I could have seen how that ended but um but I think baseball is better when these two two teams are duking it out so let’s take a look at the offseason editions here you want to take us through what the Red Sox have done so far yeah crochet I mean that’s one of the top moves of the entire off season so far I don’t think that’s me being biased I think a lot of people can agree with that they needed a guy at the top right I would still love for the Red Sox to go out and get someone like Corbin Burns that’s a guy you know you can hand the ball to every fifth day you know G crochet obviously had Tommy John not too long ago he didn’t have a great second half but the the stat cast numbers are off the charts the velocity the stuff they needed as Lum merone likes to say a pig at the top of the rotation uh absolutely a great move um I think you know maybe I am being a little biased here but I think G crochet could be a Sai Young Contender next year I’m just saying now aalis Chapman I mean I gotta hear your thoughts on this one aalis Chapman for the red so this is a it’s an Boston reacted very interesting with this one because of the off the field issues but they needed a a big Lefty at the back end of the rotate uh Bullpen but from a pitching standpoint they did need someone like a RIS Chapman uh from an off the- field standpoint it’s been you know it’s been interesting seeing what people have had to say he’s stayed out of trouble for the last eight years and I can say this about the Red Sox they will do their homework like 10 times right they will go everywhere they will check every nook and cranny to make sure that you know for the most part if a guy has been uh doing well after you know off the field issues and he’s seems like he’s in a good place now you know yeah say what you will about that before but you know obviously not great what happened with him a long time ago not good at all actually but yeah you know but they needed a guy they needed a big Lefty and they probably just didn’t want to spend the money on Tanner Scott so it is I would say he’s still got great stuff I mean I watched him this year a few times he’s still throwing over 100 miles an hour I mean he can still strike guys out but in the big moment he will hang a slider occasionally uh and as a lefty in uh in Fen who’s he’s only getting older you know I could see I could see a couple of tough losses at the hands of aralis Chapman off the field stuff I mean obviously um he’s had his issues but I mean like you said it’s been almost a decade now um who hasn’t grown in the last decade right so hopefully he’s just got his his life back together I don’t think it should be uh you know death penalty to to have you know slight indiscretions uh that that you know you serve the penalty for and then you’re back on the field and if you screw up again there’s more penalties right and they’re worse so he’s done a good job his nose Queen uh the one thing I didn’t like uh about his ten years the way it ended uh there was a optional team practiced or not there was a mandatory team practice I’m sorry and uh a rles Chapman did not have a secured spot on the postseason roster because he had had a tough second half and so forth yeah and so he just skipped the practice he said if you’re not going to guarantee me a spot on the roster I’m not going which to me I mean that was the end of the line with him as a Yankee uh he was not renewed obviously and uh I just felt like that a very selfish thing it’s like you know everybody else had to earn it you obviously had a bad second half come earn it you know and and uh yeah you know that’s just kind of where I I sat with that but um I look Yankees and Red Soxs we need them to compete next year and and get rid of these pesky Orioles let’s talk a little bit about the AL East we we went through the Orioles they’re supposedly uh you know able to spend but not doing it Blue Jays have you heard much about this um this contract situation with vlat I mean it sounds like they they’ve made him some some pretty big offers and he’s uh he’s kind of standing Pat I don’t blame him given what stto just did um I mean he’s gonna get a big big big big payday somewhere um what are your thoughts on the Blue Jays this year it’s so interesting right because you know they already had to battle the the aspect of just being in a different country right but if you go back a few years ago you know when they’ve landed some of these guys like Gosman and Springer you know they were in a better place Farm was looking good you had guys like vlat Bo you know coming off very good Seasons looking very promising for their future things are looking good for the Blue Jays you remember I mean everyone was starting to Crown the Blue Jays uh already the offseason World Series champions um things were looking very bright for Toronto at one point but the farm has regressed um you know guys like Ricky tan was their pitching Prospect he ended up getting Tommy John or whatever I can’t remember if it was Tommy John or uh the brace surgery I can’t remember but he went down um you know things have just not been going great right they’ve stagnated right this past year under 500 bobette had a very down year a lot of injuries um so it’s they’re already they were already battling that the fact that guys had to move to a different country to go play there but now things aren’t looking all that great so I’m not surprised to see that someone like Corbin Burns or even Juan stto had Mega offers and they’re like you know probably rather play somewhere else right um I don’t know the Blue Jays it’s interesting I don’t know you know they just had to make a trade for Andre SZ where you know they had to go make a trade like that they had to take on a lot of that contract they did not do very well in that trade in my opinion but they kind of have to make moves like that to improve their team team um yeah it’s kind of interesting the downfall of the Blue Jays that we’ve seen over the last couple of years after they were just so high up there so yeah if I were the Blue Jays I would trade vlat because I think he’s gonna get Cohen money just like stto did I think that’s why we haven’t seen um uh uh Pete Alonzo resigned I think that the front office there is saying hey if you just wait through this year uh you know bring in vlat next year he’s still young and then you’ve got a core of indor SoDo and Vladimir Guerrero Jr and that is a nasty nasty uh three-headed monster to get through in that lineup and we’ll see how Vientos is he looked like the real deal to me too but um yeah Rays gonna be weird seeing them play at Stein brener field I am so glad that we don’t have to watch the trop though honestly I would rather have it feel like a spring training game than have it feel like they’re playing in a warehouse the one thing is going to be all the rain we’re gonna get so much rain so many we’re gonna probably have four or five rain outs this year yeah well you know for me I I believe it or not as big of a Red Sox fan as I am I live in Florida and uh I used to live in Massachusetts but then my family made me come to Florida and you know it’s hot but it is what it is but um no I like living here but no it’s been cool because over the years I’ve been to Tropicana a ton of times right I actually kind of like Tropicana in a way because there’s AC it’s nice we’re always out in the heat so when we get to go sit inside somewhere I’m like hey I’m all about it right cheap tickets usually right so I like Tropicana to be completely honest I’m actually kind of sad that I’m not gonna be I’m done with Tropicana my career at Tropicana is uh not it looks to be done now I’ve seen so many games over the years there so I mean I know I’m gonna have to get to se brener field this year yes there are definitely to be rain outs yeah I mean I’m excited to go there I’ve never gone um yeah we’ll see but the Rays you know the Rays they’re always making interesting moves um you know they’re always making the lowkey moves you know they’re going to be just such a pain in the butt man yeah so I saw they just dealt Jeffree Springs to the A’s A’s are are aggressive this year I think they’re having the raised the salary so that they wouldn’t get like a grievance filed because they were just basically taking in all this Revenue sharing money and not spending any of it on players just could you imagine could you imagine I I’m I’m I hate to put this thought into people’s heads it’s not going to happen but let’s say it does could you imagine if some way somehow the A’s the Rays they pull off just great seasons and they run into each other in the division round oh man then you got minor league stadiums in the playoffs amazing no I mean that sarcastically like could you imagine that oh I can I it’s it’s embarrassing it’s embarrassing well we’re gonna let Robbie go we’re gonna take some voicemails uh Robbie thanks for your time I wish you guys the best of luck this season obviously we we’ll talk throughout the year go check out out Quan and Kade Smith for Luis heel and um Pereira the kid outfielder that we have in uh tripola I think it would help both teams we need a left-handed lead off hitting left fielder and good relief pitcher and uh they could be potentially getting an Allstar or even a Hall of Fame pitcher almost like Ryan for fosi ex I’m pretty sure when that getting F GOI let me know what you think God bless bye I think that’s an interesting baseball trade right it’s a baseball move it reminds me of when the Yankees traded Jesus Montero to the Mariners from Michael paneda a young catcher the Mariners needed offense Yankees got a young pitcher in pan and both of these guys you know as as prospects um did not pan out um pan injured his laam and Montero threw an ice cream sandwich at a human being so it didn’t work out but um I like your creativity I I can’t say that I expect um Stephen Quan to get dealt and I I don’t think the Yankees are anxious to trade Luis Hill just because he was involved in the Kyle Tucker trade talks Kyle Tucker is one of those special talents too and I I think that oh we got to remove Nester from the the the the Reel here too I I think that Kyle Tucker is one of those special talents that if you can get him you can but hopefully uh the Yankees will be interested in free agency but love the creative idea hey Derek how you doing I’m call from Virginia Beach Virginia big fan of yours big fan Yankees for the past 50 plus years I just want to make this known to all Yankee fans our farm system need to get chances to move up we got to give those Alma pazas and know the rest of the young men out there in farm system a chance play Big lead we got some good guys down there that need a chance the Y Orin organizations is one thing they do not give chances to these young kids give them a chance Ben rice had his he makes Prest a p is up and down come on we got to give these kids a chance we might have a shiny star in there somewhere let’s give them a chance come on Yankees I hear what you’re saying and I I sympathize with you uh look the Yankees are going to give a chance to Jason Dominguez this year he’s probably going to be the opening day center fielder as the as the roster stands right now we gave a chance to Austin Welles last year he did great although I I felt like in the beginning of the year what you’re saying applied they were slow to trust him in the first couple of months but once the injury to trino happened uh he took off you know and like you said they gave him a chance and he and he he did well the Garrick Cole injury opened the door for Luis heel to get a chance he wasn’t going to be on the roster if uh the Yankees had a healthy starting so you’re right uh sometimes guys will step up when the door presents itself um is perza gonna be one of those guys maybe we’ll see uh you know Ben rice maybe I do think that the Yankees are going to have to use some youth on this team and I think it’s a good idea I’ll say this about perza he’s very athletic and he’s got speed and he he he picks up the ball on defense these are all things that the Yankees need and we’ve seen that he has power I think that if you did give him a chance and played him at second base honestly he’d be better at shortstop and V be better at second base but as somebody who they’re skeptical on you know whether or not he can stick they probably put him at second or maybe third and move jazz to second I wouldn’t hate it I wouldn’t hate it I mean at least it’ be fun to watch a young guy develop and I think he would play well so uh good thought this is David from he this D from Texas again um what do you think of the idea of Brian Reynolds in left field and maybe someone like Nolan orado for third base because the moves that the Yankees are making are legit moves like this is like how the team was when they were like the you know Dynasty teams like all these moves are just making the Yankees so much better at each position so I just wanted to get your take on what do you think about those players thanks man I love your show appreciate it so um Brian Reynolds is not going anywhere he’s beloved in uh uh Pittsburgh I believe he just signed a long-term extension and I’m also pretty sure it has a no trade clause uh but he’s not going anywhere um look the Yankees when they lost Juan SoDo had to Pivot to plan B and plan B obviously involves strengthening the Run prevention so far Max Fred and Devin Williams love that I still think they need one more relief pitching piece I hope it’s Tim Hill I hope they bring him back they brought back Leisa uh Dream Weaver is going to be excellent and it wouldn’t shock me if they picked up a couple of under the radar kind of guys you know that you know like Ian Hamilton was or like Luke Weaver was when they they picked him up um or like Klay Holmes when they they got him and he had been struggling so I look for that type of move also um and Cody potit I don’t think he’s been retained uh he’s somebody that I could see the Yankees bringing back for relatively cheap he gets injured a lot Clayton beater good arm uh I could see him being a factor so I I think the pitching is is pretty close to done but they’ve got to add offense you’ve got to replace I don’t know how many it was 41 home runs for stto you can’t replaces on base percentage U but you can you can get close you know get somebody with a 360 maybe 370 it’s not going to be easy um or you know get better at multiple positions you know get an outfielder and a third baseman and a first baseman there’s a as Brian Cashman say says a lot of ways to skin the cats so we’ll see how it shakes out but I do think we’ll have some news pretty soon all right ladies and gentlemen thanks for watching tonight as
