well we have breaking news for the NHL the Jacob trouba trade has happened he’s on his way to Anaheim we’ll discuss the deal coming up next welcome back to another video here at Top Shelf hockey things really escalated quickly today around the Jacob trouba news I had just posted a video a short time ago saying that a trade or putting him on waivers was imminent it sounded like it was definitely going to happen sometime in the next 24 hours or so I did not expect things to come together uh Within the hour that’s absolutely crazy but Jacob trouba now the former captain of the New York Rangers has been traded by the Rangers to the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for depth defenseman ER vinan and a fourth round pick so definitely an underwhelming return but the Ducks take the full salary that’s certainly you know more than you might think the value of the cap space has tremendous value I would suspect that Chris jury with all the other rumored you know potential things he’s considering doing will likely put that cap space to good use on some other form of an impact player uh we’ll have to wait to see what else Jury has up a sleeve here but certainly uh you know tra would have had to have accepted this trade uh we’ve seen the writing on the wall here for some time we got the news earlier today that uh he was going to be held out of the game tonight due to roster management uh purposes so we knew his time with New York was up and if he didn’t accept a trade to one of these teams that he was going to be put on waivers and that never happened happened so we when knew when 2:00 Eastern came and went that a trade was you know confident it was going to be done um but all the reporters were saying you know probably sometime in the next 24 hours well it only took about 45 minutes by the sounds of things so here we are so Jacob trouba done with the Rangers on his way to the Ducks there was some talk about a reunion with the Rangers maybe if Rano or Ryan stro obviously that’s not the case um but they get the value of salary cap space back here and get a death player with back in n in a fourth rounder so let me know your thoughts on this trade how the Rangers went about it uh crazy times here at the New York Rangers we’ll see what else CH is up to let me know your thoughts in the comments we’ll discuss further if you’re new to the channel of course make sure you subscribe and stick around this the place that’ll get all your NHL news and rumors for the entire 32 Team league thanks for watching I will catch you next time [Music] a
