show begins with Youngstown State and Wright State out of the Horizon league with Wright State laying seven and the total is 152 in this one all right Matt Cox uh you hit with your play last night kind of at the mid- major level you begin with this one I’m curious what you like with the penguins of Youngstown State against the Raiders of right state that have a dog as the mascot go ahead yeah the boys of Youngstown is where I I like tonight this is a fasinating matchup because it’s uh the head coaches of both teams in their first year as head honchos both were assistants uh to Scott Nei and to jarro Calhoun last year so there’s gonna be a high level of scheme familiarity on both sides here I tend to think all tend to think all else equal that does favor the dog but the big part of this handicap for me is how well Youngtown State’s played the last few weeks they kind of struggled to start the year two and five they got run out of their gym by Ohio State but then looked like you know a pretty capable team at Syracuse on November 16th now Syracuse is like no world beater but I think that kind of proved like okay wow the ceiling for this team is there and they kind of go through this mte law they lose three in a row against Presbyterian SFA and Western Michigan but they get Jason Nelson who’s kind of their surging point guard used to be a big recruit out of Richmond starting to find his stride they have two Dynam point guards with him healthy um next to Jawan Maxi as well so like you have two dueling Dragon creators there in the back court against a right State team that’s really good really skilled really well coached but I don’t think they’re as talented or as or or as athletic and while R state has had advantages um out executing opponents I don’t think they had that edge tonight against a coach that should know their scheme again a talented team but a well coach team in Youngstown I’m going to take the points here conference opener uh the road team here I tend to think the road teams have a littleit of an edge in some of these early pre- Christmas conference games that we’ve seen the mid Majors adopt so a lot points to Youngtown give me the gns with the touchdown point please all right interesting Corby we have talked about right State some on the show and as uh Matt made reference to they are the home team here tonight back-to-back wins over Detroit Mercy in their conference by eight and then by nine over Marshall they have a narrow loss to Oakland by two any thoughts tonight including on that number 152 and a half for the total yes it’s an interesting game uh looking at a right State team who I I talked about this earlier in the week but uh last week had one of the more annoying losses I’ve had uh in college basketball that I can remember this right State team is in my definition of of teams you have either Tempo givers or Tempo takers like teams who want to play their offense like a Virginia uh and then teams who were are willing to do basically whatever you throw at them I think this right State team at this point is more of a Tempo taker like we look at this martial game and I talked about it um I had the under I think like 150 uh it was live 128 at halftime they scored 104 points in the second half TJ that that is not what right State wants to do that is exactly what Marshall wants to do so I see a right State team who usually in this kind of case like a touchdown favorite it’s going to be able to play their game play what they want to do keep this pace where they want it then I look at this total of 152 and a half and it just makes me think like this is pricing in the fact that they believe Youngstown is the tempo rece or producer at this point and I think that in any case if you can play the game you want to play you shouldn’t be ling a touchdown so I would agree it’s the doger nothing for me uh I would assume this probably plays more towards an over just assuming right state has to play Fast to keep up with Youngstown as Matt brought up like this is talented Youngtown team like I I like watching through film I think they do basically everything right they haven’t shot well from three they can’t shoot well from three yet but I still think they have good looks good talent 356 from three right now 26% from Deep TJ I don’t imagine that continues it would be young sound of nothing for me um I I’m not buying this right State team maybe as much as everybody else is all right again EJ farmer is the leading scorer for Youngstown State and Matt Cox is on the Penguins tonight if you have been studying the recent history Matt Cox had a double digit Underdog last night and they came home and uh pre the birth of your child I’m looking to see where you had another Underdog you had Shar charlet come through last week on the show early in the week as a nine-point underdog I’m looking back before that he had UC Riverside as an outright winner is an underdog do you sense a theme Savages Matt Cox says Youngstown State tonight as the underdog at the nutter center against Wright State at 7 Eastern Time anything else yep go ahead TJ that that number is not 153 it’s 145 on the total uh I said I lean over just looking at a number um obviously I’m just chatting to chat uh it looks like it make it 143.5 lean towards Youngstown so um sorry about that it it’s not 153 uh that number is not real I don’t think so I need to we need to double check what is it on the BET us line here at the moment because I’m seeing on ours I think it was 150 and a half when we put everything in with the graphics on wght State and Youngstown State again Matt’s play is going to be uh Youngstown State on their side I’m seeing on the BET us line I’m seeing the line movement I’m seeing 144 a half just a few minutes ago is that not I mean that mean that’s a lot of line movement if what we saw was earlier unless something’s wrong on the sheet I was told there would be no math on the Wednesday edition of the show having to add subtract and do all this on off the top of my head while we host but uh what number would you be interested in Corby Craig just for whatever the total is what would that number be that you’re interested in yeah I make it 143 so um you would have to get pretty I’m looking live right now I see 144 and a half uh live on BET us right now so interest ignore the gra ignore the graphic of what you see there on the over under because that price doesn’t exist it in one more you know what lock one time that’s right lock it in one more time for Matt Cox he only cares about the side kids he cares about Youngstown State and the points [Music] he [Music]
