uh Reuben your first game at all Trafford it it was kind of written in the stars wasn’t it that it was going to be a win yeah I I I was hoping and everybody here you feel you you feel the the enthusiasm in the in the people I don’t want to disappoint the the the fans and um we all of us want to believe in this new idea so we need to win games we did that I think we we we improved from the last game I know it’s a different it’s a different game a different ition but we improve certain things we show more moments with the ball control more the tempo I think we we suffer two goals in transitions but we were control the game um but it was really important for me to see that we suffer two goals in the difficult moment and they continue to play in the same way that is important is a message for me and then we turn around the result and think we deserve it we should kill the game for the the end of the game and then the last 10 minutes was all together suffering all the stadium and we we won I wonder what what’s more important the the win or everybody being able to see the Improvement cuz it was quite clear that there was an improvement what do you think is more important the win is always more important because it’s not everything but in this moment win is more important when you are in the club like like our our our club you have to win first and then we will reach a point that win is not enough you have to play well because you are in Manchester United so we have to manage all these things without training uh but I felt the same we have a lot to to improve but we improve already since the GI switch game loads of individual performances tonight that I thought were excellent but none more so than noose mazra who didn’t put a foot wrong all night it’s a incredible player it’s our future because he played in in different position um he always it looks like always fresh but we have to be careful there’s a lot of games and um he here to to stay this kind of this kind of players is what we winning uh just finally there has been so much attention on your system on the formation why why is everybody so focused on that when actually during the game there’s three four five different ways that you play yeah and today was a we defended as a four 442 was really clear so I don’t know why uh you have a lot of teams playing with the three Central backs and they build up with three I don’t know it’s maybe because I played all my career as a coach in the same system so I don’t care also uh and I happy that they call it these three Central backs I I’m happy uh about that thank you thank you very much congratulation how do you feel how does it feel to win your first game at Ultra for and how was the atmosphere atmosphere was incredible U it was a little bit of relief you know the first win is always the most difficult one in the in the hard game uh but I think we deserve it the win we create more chances we control more of the game we we suffer two goals in transitions uh and we have a lot to improve Pro but like I said I think we deserve the win that’s a questions any areas you think or you feel that the team can still improve oh all all of them it it was um a good game with good moments but we have a lot to to improve what can fans expect from the team moving forward after this winning winning games is the most important thing and they want to see a structure an idea uh they want to see a team that that control RS the game they dominate the game and can can score more goals uh and try to to to to have clean sheets but it will take time but we won and you continue to to the next game final questions roban um next match is is going to be in the Premier League against Everton what’s your focus for this match it’s recover the players that is an important point and we will study the the opponent uh we have to be prepared for for a difficult game different from this one more long balls second balls we have to to be ready for the the the fight um and then we have to improve with the ball in some details but um let’s let’s enjoy today and then think about everything congratulation thank two goals I think more importantly the win for Manchester United how does that feel yeah um obviously very good um new system new ideas um yeah uh I think again today we we made a step in the right direction but obviously uh it’s going to take some time uh but uh yeah again like you said three points at home and uh yeah it’s good I think um I think that’s what everybody kind of expected it was not the finished article straight away but a step in the right direction did it feel like that on the pitch today yeah 100% I think the the idea is getting a little bit better under the skin but obviously it needs to take time the managers just came in um so yeah um we work very hard on the training pitch uh we haven’t had any days off so we just work on the on the training pitch and yeah um for me personally I think um the this style suits me very well and I’m very happy for for for for the the the new boss uh uh is here you got yourself in in two very similar areas for the two goals despite the two finishes being quite different which was the favorite the touch and finish or getting in behind I don’t know um I I’ve been told the first goal was very good um but uh yeah the the second one one is a is a real Ras goal if you if you like to say that like um sliding in the ball in on running hard on the first post and and a good pass from from man I think that’s a really good assessment the first goal is incredible when you see it back you’ll realize just how good the first touch was before the Finish but if I was going to say what goal is Rasmus hland goal that would have been it um what more is there to come because obviously you got much better service those either side of half time when every was sort of on the same page did it do you think there’s more of that to come uh hopefully I think it’s uh we still very early in the process of of learning these new um this new system obviously there’s players who who who has to play in different position that they have been used to and obviously also new roles for for for different players and and for me as well but I think this this style of football I wouldn’t say it’s the same but it reminds me a little bit of about how I played in in uh in in Atlanta which is a 343 and uh yeah um yeah it’s very it’s a very direct and and very frontf footed football and which I love so yeah congratulations victory for Manchester United over Boda Glimpse here at Al Trafford in Ruben am’s first home game in charge of the club and Spurs conceded late on at home against Roma that one finishing a two or Draw but what about that for Rangers away from home they beat n by four goals to one and that means that the Europa League League phase table looks like like this with Rangers currently in the automatic places they’re in the top eight there they are in eighth place Spurs just behind in ninth and Manchester United’s victory tonight means they move up into 12th in the league phase table so where do you think this leads United in terms of that automatic qualification it’s there for the taking Now isn’t it Owen with three games left to go do you still expect them to qualify automatically yeah definitely I mean they control their own Destiny and that’s all you can ask for I think obviously it’s still a little bit of a work in progress um but if they get it right with Tottenham you know they’re one of the favor to to win this competition competition if you can win this and then get into the Champions League I mean that is that would be amazing it was Ruben aram’s first home game here Karen let’s take a look back at the goals because it was a fast start for them as well scoring in just 51 seconds that’s the start he wanted yeah dream start I mean holand starts to press there it’s big distances but he gets there he’s powerful he’s quick and don’t what the goalkeepers thinking to be honest and um gacho thinking thank you Rasmus youve you’ve given me a gift here but it like you can see from this Angle now get up to the ball cut off passing angles and then it’s really simple and uh it’s an error but it was an absolute dream start to be fair Rasmus done really well because he stopped him going to the left I think initially goalkeeper was going to take it across his body to the left but Rasmus just delayed him for a second it made him think and obviously once he took that touch he was way too quick for him he was always going to win it but brilliant pressing that’s what Rasmus is is really good at obviously he’s quick he’s powerful but pressing wise he should be an absolute Beast up there United’s habit of conceding goals in quick succession though did not leave with Eric ten hog unfortunately for them Boda glimp scoring twice in the space of four minutes yeah and to be fair we didn’t give them enough credit before the game they’re really good footballing side you know with some big wins in European competitions Manchester United only got two in Midfield there little bit too easy to play through obviously we see one of the center backs steps up ugat Fs in for mazari there and then the cut backs on but I tell you what what a finish that is and and again this is what this is what Amon wants he wants maai to step in there obviously he steps in ugat covers for M’s men to be what does the ball end up exactly where ugat was so a few little things they’re going to have to work on especially when people step out but take nothing away from the finish it was it was top draw I think majari stepped in when he came over there he said that’s what he wants from him but it’s just about the rest of the team and then this go look when you go player for player pressing I’m not going to be too har on on malasia because he’s been out for a year and a half so it was a it was a risk putting him in from the start he’s only played 45 minutes I think for the under 21s so when everyone’s going player for player and that balling behind it’s a foot race he’s a good player I think that’s just a fitness and I don’t want to be too harsh on him like I said but it’s it’s a good finish but that can’t happen moving forward you know he’s either got to get to match Fitness or he’s going to play a different way and when you notice when he brought Dow on and Shaw on as well just a little bit in the back end it was more comfortable at the back yeah how worrying is it for United that they can be exposed like that in this system well teams are going to look at that and they’re going to you know they’re going to work on that because obviously when the center backs are going to step into Midfield and try and turn it over but actually the one ball over the top you’re you’re in 1 V one so I think you’ll see teams do that especially Everton on the weekend look you’re a little bit vulnerable there and if massia lets it bounce like he does Anything could happen so obviously it was um there was a lot of positives for mazari stepping up but also if they play over the top you you know you’re in trouble credit for to United for for fighting back in this game as well they’re two one down they’ve just conceded those two quick goals as we just pointed out there but just before halim what a great time for hyand to get this goal but again it’s Mai you know he steps in he wins it great composure he’s so calm almost you never see him make a mistake I tell you what though the touch from Rasmus in the finisher is absolutely exceptional great goal yeah and and to be fair this is what this is what Aman wants this how he play sporting everybody super high in the opposition’s half but the touch and the Finish from rasmas and that’s exactly what Manchester United need somebody that can fill in and be number n Rasmus can do that that will give him a ton of confidence K it’s just Instinct you don’t even think it just comes to his control and then bang so it’s it’s a tidy finish and then this one then was the ice on the Kate really for Rasmus hland as well nice little buildup play patient I think M does really well to get the flicking behind and then the run in and then again it’s a great ball and I like rasma toiling because he doesn’t make his run outside the width of the goal because then it makes it a little more difficult to finish he tries to stay in there gets across strong then he gets his rewards B man had some really good touches today clever you know little flicks there obviously ugat makes a little run in behind but when they when they’re that dominant which he wants them to be with the ball basically everybody’s 30 yards from the opposition’s goal and allows players to make runs off the back of people that’s ugat your defensive Midfield player so a lot of positives I think from that in scoring three goals but still I think am I think he want to work on the kind of the balance and the defensive shape and mechanism cuz there’s still a few gaps in Midfield yeah it it’s not been an easy start to the season for Rasmus holand though getting those two goals tonight you know he started the season injured he’s had to work back to his Fitness how much will that help him do you expect him to to be the starter up front on Sunday I do and in all of that he’s young he’s young and it’s it’s it’s a heavy burden playing at up top for Man United and what I would say is is sometimes with his Wingers he’s not always given the the service but tonight that will be absolute confidence of him he’s got power he’s got Pace he’s pressing two goals brilliant for him Everton here on Sunday then KN and we’ve already spoken about the fact that this is a work in progress under Ruben amarim that he’s going to have to learn a lot that players going to have to take in a lot of information whilst they’re competing to win points and as you say there are some players Karen’s pointed it out that aren’t necessarily suited to this system and the word from inside Manchester United is they aren’t going to be given a lot of budget in January to bring in new players their preference is that amim improves the players that he has here but how difficult is that going to be I think that look they got a lot of good players do they have the players capable enough to win in the Premier League champions league probably not that that’s going to take time to to sort the recruitment out but I think the most important thing is that they get results obviously Everton on the weekend look it’s a tough game but at home you’d expect them you know to win that game ever going to come and play different than B glimp did you know the ball might be in the channel a little bit more and there’ll be a lot of second balls and set pieces so tough fixtures especially the Arsenal one coming up I think after that um but they need to find a way to get results they didn’t play brilliantly but they found a way to win the game which is the most important thing one of the other things that Ruben Amon points out in his press conference is the fitness of these players he’s clearly not happy with how fit they are it’s one of the things he just said to us here as well is that he had to make substitutions based on the fitness of these players but that’s also going to take time isn’t it yeah it is and I think there’s definitely time in 60 minutes bringing players on for for the 30 minutes to build them up and it’s player like yo still to come back in which I think in the system that he wants to play will be huge getting Shaw back in has been huge tonight so certain players coming back in giving Matt those minutes as well I think he has the players in certain positions I’m still worried about the Center Midfield I still think that if he wants to be high and aggressive I think still think that’s the area that he’s going to keep tweaking with and against zip switch he switched Erikson and kasemir wasn’t quite sure tonight he’s put Bruno a bit deeper but the fitness is a problem you know sporting run they ran they ran they ran he has to turn his Man United Team into a team that run press and go at Big distances so that again will take time what is that solution in Midfield then with the players he currently has I don’t think he has the Personnel that he had at sportting I think I think if you’re going to play two in there they need to be two super athletes and cover the distances and I’m not sure they have that as such I think they got some really good players different players but he might have to tweak it that maybe one of those T drops in and one of the wing backs gets a little bit higher for the width but I think playing two in there against say an Arsenal or or City I think that’s going to be really really difficult um Owen you were very positive before the game you feeling just as positive now to be fair the fans make me positive Ruben makes me positive and they found a way to win the game I think it’s a work in progress we need to be patient but they’re getting there it’s good to see you both smiling anyway game but uh you are strong to to come back and to to win in the in the second half uh yes I agree uh tough game um but at the end a good win a well needed win in the in the EUR League um and eventually yeah the first first home home game for the for the new coach uh directly win that’s uh that’s good uh a good basic to to build on about the new coach not to compare just to understand uh what the the difference of the management what the the the the speech to to to to speak with you tactically individually collectively I think everybody sees that we have a new style of play now we play uh we play more with three in the back uh you can yeah name it however you want but you see a new style of play uh you see also some uh some some good football uh he encourages to to be confident in our in our play um wait uh till the right moment uh be in in the in the right positions I’m not going to say too much otherwise you know other teams uh know how we play so but uh yeah it’s being it’s it’s starting to be to be clear for everybody personally big performance especially with the the assist at the end of the of the first half uh yeah I’m happy with with the with the assist always I’m happy to to help the team in anyway now I’m the right center back so I’m not uh I’m not usually uh have to be the guy to to make the assist but uh I’m happy to to help the team in any way Ruben amaram didn’t have everything his own way in his first Manchester United match at Old Trafford but arasmus hodgin brace helped deliver the new head coach his first win United LED inside a minute when Alejandro gacho took advantage of a goalkeeping howler the lead didn’t last long though with haken Evan finding the top corner to bring the visitor’s level and it was two to one moments later as Philips Sagle raced through to score hodgin was United’s hero though first the former Atalanta man delivered a fine volet equalizer on the stroke of halftime and then he put the hosts back in front just 5 minutes into the second half and a late Andre Onana save insured the 3 to2 lead was preserved after starting their European campaign with three draws under Eric tenan the Red Devils still have some work to do if they want to avoid a playoff for the round of 16 however after back-to-back wins they at least look set to avoid an early elimination there was less than a minute on the clock when Bodo glimp keeper Nikita hkin was caught in possession by Rasmus hodgin with Alejandro gacho picking up the pieces the hosts continue to threaten enjoying plenty of possession in an around their opponent’s box only to be caught out by a one-w punch first Evan connected with an Unstoppable effort which gave Andre Onana no chance amm’s men might well have still been licking their wounds a couple of minutes later when zinle Once of Watford outm mused Tyrell Malaysia and fired through Onana to say Rasmus hodgin was up for this game is an understatement his Sprint to set up the opener set the tone and his equalizer was a moment of pure quality the danne second goal of the evening was a different flavor a pure poacher’s finish where he showed his strength to beat the covering Defender to the ball it might be a bit of a cliche to say he was hungrier but that’s how it felt amar’s United May well live or die on their number nine with Victor joka’s goals an attacking play a key factor in the manager sporting success in just one home game under the new boss hodgin has already doubled his goal tally for the season trust United to score within 2 minutes in amar’s first match and then decide no that isnt fast enough that that said their opener owed a lot to hikin giving them an absolute gift hikin panicked under pressure from hodg Land allowing gacho to stroll through and Slot the ball into an empty net that said United’s forwards needed to both be alert to take advantage of the opportunity the next challenge will be building on these fast starts and maintaining a lead the amarim era has certainly delivered early excitement but in the longer term the odd boring wind wouldn’t go a Miss more than 500 Days had passed since Tyrell Malaysia last started a match for Manchester United some Russ can be expected from the Dutchman albe it maybe not in the manner that was exposed at Old Trafford the former Fang Nord star was left one-on-one with zinle but was shaken off far too easily it’s the kind of weak defending which would count against you in a friendly let alone and important European game in Ruben amm’s 343 setup there will be a lot of onus on the wing backs and if they want to be able to contribute regularly then errors like this will need to be cut out Malaysia’s halftime withdrawal might have been planned given his long layoff but hell no as well as anyone else what’s needed there are plenty of players hoping amram’s arrival can give them a fresh start and mount his chief among them the former Chelsea star has struggled with injuries at Old Trafford but was given a chance to show the new boss what he can do when he started on Thursday we saw a promising early sign with a shot which forced hikin into action the rest of the half was a little quieter but he was inches away from getting his goal when he hit the woodwork early in the second period Mount had a bit part in United’s third goal two delivering a smart flick to free Manuel agarte who in turn fed hodgin United have had false Dawns before but Mount showed in this game what he can offer there was a moment in the first half when Anthony found plenty of space down United’s right but steadfastly refused to use his right foot instead attempting to bend the ball to a teammate with the out side of his left unsurprisingly it didn’t work the Brazilian might have struggled for minutes last season and the start of this but he at least appeared to have a defined role in Eric ten haag’s system in amorim’s 343 though it’s an even greater challenge when Anthony made way shortly before the hour it didn’t seem to harm any of the host’s momentum the 86 million man is already a very expensive squad player but hell need to do a lot more to regain a starting spot
