for for e e e e e warning incoming game over warning incoming game [Applause] over what the hell was that seriously what was that hockey game uh that we watched um or at least that some of us watched I think a lot of uh you know Jets fans might have tuned out of uh this particular game tonight um but anyways uh welcome uh to game over Winnipeg’s postgame show of tonight’s uh atrocious game between the Winnipeg Jets and the Anaheim Ducks um my name is Ty delello and I’m the host here at game over Winnipeg um yeah uh the Jets fell 3-2 to Anaheim uh tonight um um as if you watched the game if you saw the Jets did not um start playing hockey tonight they didn’t get to the rank uh until the third period um they just kind of had I think um you know how did we have like uh like Timbits skaters um you know what hockey games kind of you know skate at like the second intermission you know before the Zamboni comes out um that’s what kind of happened tonight uh with the Jets I guess the bus was late getting you know in from uh San Jose the night before so they had some Jets Timbits players go in and play um except for Eric comry as Eric comry was um Splendid the first uh two periods of play and but the Jets um couldn’t you know produce any offense any um any resemblance of a you know Elite uh Stanley Cup contending uh potential team uh tonight you know obviously the third period you know went a little bit better for the Jets until it didn’t um so to give a a quick uh recap of the scoring um it was 0 after one um we were getting out shot I believe 12 to4 um after one uh the Ducks got on the board with Frank vatrano uh scoring four minutes into the second period to make it one nothing um about five minutes later um Gabriel bardi scored his 14th goal of the year uh for the Jets to make it 1-1 um that goal was assisted by Nikolai eers and Kyle Connor um I must say that it was um awesome to have Nikolai eers back in a word uh he was Gravely missed um yeah so he had an assist on the vality goal um after two periods of jets were getting outshot 22 to8 um and as I kind of predicted as I um mentioned on Blue Sky um I said that the Jets were kind of going to pull out their Snake Charmer offense um crap that they like to do in the third period and kind of get the offense going that way and they seemingly did um you know Mark shle scored uh to put Winnipeg up uh 2 to one and they had a flurry of chances after that and they couldn’t get that next um that you know the go-ahead goal to you know kind of put the Ducks away and make it 3-1 uh neita Ryder had a chance in tight um you know they had a power play or two in the third period that they couldn’t capitalize on uh that that could have put the game game away so they definitely got their chances in the end um you know I said that the shots were uh 22 to 8 after 2 and they ended up being like 30 to 21 by the end of the night so the Jets kind of caught up a little bit uh in that department um until the game uh turned on a I wouldn’t even say turned on a dime but um uh Frank petrano scored his second of the night um with five minutes left in the game uh was a tip in front of the net um seemingly harmless play uh until it wasn’t till the puck went in uh so it was 2-2 uh Jets get a power play with three minutes left it’s like okay here it comes here comes the Jets uh goal the dagger faheim um and then all of a sudden the Jets forgot how to play offense again um they didn’t muster anything on the power play aside from one Kyle Connor shot that um duck scy Lucas stel easily stopped um [Music] um so Ducks killed the penalty off um and it’s like okay I’m like okay just get it to [ __ ] overtime get a point whatever if we win I don’t really give a [ __ ] anymore um but no no um 30 seconds left uh Neil Pon um very bad uh Pizza in throws up a bad pass in front of the net um an awkward play and and Troy Terry is there to you know basically put the puck backhanded into an empty net C had reacted early on the play um so the Ducks are the ones that score the late uh dagger for the for the Jets um and win 3-2 um Eric Comer made 28 saves on the night um I thought he played played well played admirably um the Jets did not play good in front of him um it really felt like the Jets were actually going to steal that game you know for most of the third period until until it went South at the end um but you know the Jets certainly didn’t deserve to win that hockey game for you know going off the whole 60 Minutes you know for you know 50 of the 60 Minutes I would say Anaheim was the much better team and the Jets kind of just sleep walked their way um you know into the game um kind of let the let the moms down quite a bit I would say you know this was the the tail end of the mom’s trip um so I think the Jets will probably maybe have one more day uh in California tomorrow and then head home I know they got two days off Thursday and Friday before they uh you know play Minnesota on Saturday uh and the Jets are going to have to be a lot better uh to play Minnesota I would say so before we go any further uh let’s do an ad read uh and then I’ll go go to the chat I think there’s a message or two there um check out uh hyperdrive hockey uh so hyperdrive hockey is the flagship show um of the game over Network on the game over uh Network page here hyperdrive hockey all things hockey across various leagues in multiple countries um whatever it is and wherever it is Max dney and Kev have you covered for all of your hockey news with a steady dose of fun and fan engagement um you can find hyperdrive hockey on the game over Network YouTube channel um or wherever you listen uh to your favorite podcast on the hyperdrive hockey page uh or at the game over network.com yes um in the chat um P Lindberg stopping by P Lindberg says um flurry and Pon need to stop playing together nice pass Pan um and then he also says when will this team make any changes when things aren’t going well um yes uh flurry and pan are obviously um P they’re obviously not a not a top four pairing in the NHL um you know maybe for you know a team like the Montreal Canadians it would be adequate um you know but for the Winnipeg Jets for you know a team that’s considered to be a top five top 10 team in the league um it’s just not a it’s just not a pairing year that you’re going to win with um Hayden flurry is you know a six I want to say he’s a 78 defenseman at most and he’s having to play top four minutes a top four rule um you know and then Neil Pan um because of the fact that he’s playing with flurry um pan has to be a lot more defensively responsible than usual than if he was playing with um you know his regular D partner Dylan Samberg you know Hino was injured until the new year um so it’s just a it’s a you know it’s a bad mix cocktail um and this is kind of the result of it tonight you know in the last minute of of the game um you know flurry and paner out there a very bad pass by Pon a very bad you know defensive uh mishap that winds up in the back of the Jets net um you know just like that instead of you know coming home with at least a point uh tonight for a very sloppy bad game uh the Jets go home with their tail between their legs um you know thanks to that pass by Neil Pon so couldn’t agree more uh um yeah not uh not the best showing from flar and pan and as you said when will this team make any changes when things aren’t going well I think that um I like the Jets um kind of historically have been very uh stubborn when it uh comes to making lineup changes is um just changes to their lines you know they really like to like write it out um and give a pretty good um leash to these lines before they go ahead and make any changes um I hav’t even I haven’t even mentioned I think we’re 15 minutes into the show I I have not have not even mentioned uh Logan Stanley yet um who I um I’ll get to him I’ll get to him he’s he [ __ ] stinks Logan Stanley um k k says tuned in just in time to hear the Habs catch Strays wow I only said that I only said that to kind of lure you out uh and the weeds from uh watching to pop in the comments there K so I’m glad the you took the bait uh there uh K also says if it makes you feel better the wild just got their asses kicked too yes um however the wild got their asses kicked by the Florida Panthers the defending uh Stanley Cup champions while the Jets choked I would say to the bottom feeding Anaheim Ducks and the Jets have looked bad against bottom feeding teams such as the Montreal Canadians the San Jose Sharks and now the Anaheim Ducks um yeah not a very good just not a good performance from uh win a pig tonight um very frustrating I’m sure I can’t wait to listen to coach AR Neal’s press conference after and hear what some of the players players must have loved that one um all right I yeah Logan Stanley Let’s uh let’s just go let’s just talk about this quickly um why is he playing for the Jets um aside from his height I know he’s 6′ 7 I have that’s it’s like a mandatory uh tweet you have to include whenever you say Logan Stanley um why does he play hockey for the Winnipeg like I know we traded up in the draft to get him I know like he’s played 150 games already close to 200 now I know he hasn’t done anything to Warrant um you know himself playing uh in an NHL top six I truly okay and and and yeah he also took uh another penalty tonight he’s he’s usually good for one penalty at night um and luckily that one didn’t end up in the back of our net uh that PK um I truly truly think that if um Logan Stanley was six feet tall hell 6’2 If Logan Stanley was 6’2 he wouldn’t be he wouldn’t be in the NHL and he might not even be in the AHL um I don’t think I’ve ever seen a softer 6’7 defenseman uh play hockey like he doesn’t he can’t shoot he can’t pass he doesn’t hit and those are three big pieces of the puzzle right there for like an NHL defenseman right like what are and then we make vly hola play on his off hand like V hola is a left-hand shot and because he’s paired with Logan Stanley Logan has to play on the left cuz me Logan Stanley me no like good at playing hockey um so Logan gets the left hand Billy hola who were trying to see what we have in this young finished defenseman you know Philly H has been through the ringer of like being up and down with like the the moose and never kind of getting a you know a Runway of games for in the NHL to see what this what we have in this kid and I don’t know do you know what we have in Villa hola because it’s like I see he’s kind of paired with an anchor as his partner and yeah Billy hola makes a good first pass um he has some offensive capabilities but we haven’t been able to see any of that really at the NHL level I think he’s only had you know one or two good games out of the eight um you know that he’s had this year um you know because he’s with um just because he he’s paired with Logan every night and he’s on his offside like he obviously would rather be playing on his left-handed uh side of the ice um I don’t want to anyways I wanted to save some of it I I could have talked more about Logan Stanley last game the San Jose game um I guess I’ll leave it there let’s do another ad read because I’m just tick off tonight like you know what was that you know larouche game over network is an independent production focused on community inclusion and quality people uh if you’re interested in supporting the game over Network we have crowdfunding options available um in the description of this episode you’ll find a link to our patreon page uh and we’re also working on a page through larouche uh which is a crowdfunding platform for companies originating in Quebec um for larouche we’re aiming to raise $155,000 um and if game over hits that goal uh we gain access to government grants that will allow us to employ more people provide provide more content etc etc um so if you um you know the fans uh if you guys have any ideas for what you like to see us giveaways from these crowdfunding efforts um please let us know in the comments uh on Twitter Instagram the Discord server uh and blue sky uh the new Twitter app that I kind of I still call it tweeting when I tweet from Blue Sky um a lot of the game over hosts a lot of my colleagues have kind of migrated over from Twitter to Blue Sky um yeah it’s good I’m kind of chirping at the Jets a lot during the games um yeah it’s a it’s a good time on Blue Sky so if you’re not over there yet uh check it out um I’m always happy to talk hockey or whatever else um yeah K I Got a notification on my blue sky uh wrong link here’s the correct one for anyone looking okay so as if this Knight couldn’t get any um we were we posted the wrong link um so people weren’t able to to tune in um Thanks a Lot K uh that’s only just to bait you out to see if you’re uh still watching or not I see that we have a couple people um still with us uh watching the show if you’re in the chat feel free to chime in and give some comments about what you thought about the game um I wanted to maybe be a little more positive um for this next segment of the show here um what should we go to should we go to the the fourth line I was going to talk about the fourth line um we’ll save that I think that’ll be that’s going to be a very negative um conversation so contract talk um you know at the end of this year um kind of a a trio of the Jets um you know big players uh Nikolai elers uh Gabriel valard and Neil Pan’s um contracts are up um Gabe valard is an RFA while Neil Pon uh and Nikolai elers are both UFA um I guess well starting with um I’m gonna get Neil pan out of the way after that [ __ ] tonight um I know a lot of I think the Jets I think the Jets management the Jets brass um they’re very on resigning Neil pan I believe the they’re making that their biggest priority um I guess aside from trying to keep uh eers um yeah I think Neil Pan’s making already $6 million a year um I know that he’s had a better year this year for the most part but um you know for the two or three years before this he has not been a $6 million player um you know he’s definitely not in line for a raise um you know $6 million is a lot of money to be you know tied up into you know a defenseman that’s not producing as we saw with uh Nate Schmidt um you know these last couple years in Winnipeg he was making $6 million to be a 67 you know defenseman for the team um no I do not think Neil pan is a 67 defenseman um but I think the number he’s at is is is good if we resign him I don’t want him any more than 6.5 um I would like to see him somewhere between four to 4 million to 5.5 million a year for maybe two to three years um do I think that he’ll get more money if he wants um on the open market hell yeah hell yeah and if you want to go take that please um I think there’s better options out there for the Jets um long term I don’t know if Neil Pan’s um a defenseman that you can win with uh I know the Jets are Bleak at um you know our defensive depth um yeah if he stays or goes it’s it’s just not going to make you know a world of difference I don’t think for this team um moving on to Nikolai eers uh k um says how did eers look and we’re on eers now eers looked great tonight for missing um you know two and a half weeks out of the Jets lineup um he’s just obviously Nikolai eer speed um is very noticeable how he drives how he drives his line how he makes Vlad NESN COV and culer Fetti look a lot better than they are um you know he’s just such a dynamic hockey player we saw that on the his primary assist to Gabriel valard for the on the Jets first goal tonight um we love eers um he’s kind of like our like he’s kind of like our Patrick l like we um jets fans are very protective of eers we’re always very we want him we wanted him to have more of an opportunity on the Jets for for years now um and it’s great that he finally is playing um Power Play one he’s playing a lot five on five um we just really want to we really want to keep him um after this year um Cas says good to have a status update for future Montreal Canadian Nick eers winky face um yes k um Mick eers is going to be a very sought after player if he wants to hit the free agent uh Market um but with that I promise you uh that he will not sign uh with a with a bottom feeder like the Habs no offense um Nikolai eers if he wants to take the money he’s going to go to a good team like Carolina um Colorado a team that could use a top an actual top six Winger um to try to win a Stanley Cup you know Nick eers is probably pushing 30 now he’s not getting any younger um I’m sure that I’m sure most teams would want nikai eers uh on their roster I just don’t see him going to you know Montreal um by his own admission I think um I I think the Jets are going to hold on to him regardless um I don’t think they’re going to trade him at the deadline as some people are thinking just cuz you know he’s an expiring contract I think they’re going to play out the year with him you know use him as a rental I guess if you will um and really push hard to um you know resign him uh in the off season or let him walk I if he’s if they haven’t engaged in contract talks yet I don’t I don’t know why the Jets haven’t um unless that Nick heer’s Camp has made it clear that he’s not resetting with Winnipeg um you know if I was the Jets general manager I would be reaching out to El’s um you know representation every single day I’d be calling his agent at 2:00 in the morning and just saying hey you know what’s up can we sign into an 8times 8 like what’s it going to take um he’s a fan favorite he’s beloved um and as for his contract I think that he could make you know pretty much you know a contract either very similar or just under what Mark shley and Connor huk make I think uh what do they make 8 and a half million for eight years um so 8 time 8 or something along those lines for Nick eagers I would where’s the contract let me sign that um will he sign that with the Jets I guess let’s see uh K I’ll settle for the ab I wouldn’t want him to stay in the same division as the Jets it would hurt it’s kind of nice Line’s playing out in Montreal don’t have to play against him too often but uh yeah it would it would hurt a little bit if eers went uh out west um and then Gabriel Valeri uh the last one uh Gabriel valard is the one who um I think is the best not the best chance but who I think the most likely to sign long term with the Jets after this year at this point uh he’s an RFA um having a very good season uh he had three assists last night he had a goal tonight um very quietly like he’s kind of goes under the radar a bit in Winnipeg um as that kind of third third player on the Jets Top Line with Conor and shley but Gabriel valard is up to 28 points in 34 games he’s finally having a um um as a player who’s been very you know injury prone throughout his entire NHL career fingers crossed he’s he’s uh staying you know he’s staying healthy uh it’d be great if he played a full you know 80 82 Game season to see you know what he can produce but he’s very close to a point per game I have no no reason to believe that he won’t keep that up for the rest of the year now um I think I think I I wrote on Blue Sky I tweeted about it yesterday I think somewhere between uh 6 and a half to 75 million dollar over a six sevene contract 8year Max contract um you know I could very well see um happening I could very well see the Jets wanting to get him locked up um I know the Jets had an opportunity to you know resign uh col Peretti longterm over the off season and they chose not to and assign him to a bridge which I thought was a smart move because uh cul per fet’s um I’ve I’ve gone on about C per Fetti he’s got the two worst traits NHL four we can have he’s slow and soft um not good um so yeah valard we just more of a dynamic player he he is a top six NHL uh Winger um lock him up he’s not even close to hitting his prime yet um yeah love Gabriel valard fello fellow Italian um big fan of Gabe valard have them on about four four of my six fantasy leagues um making my team look great the last week a lot of points uh and like these kind of Wingers um like a cc con are very streaky you know when they score they kind of score in bunches and then they go cold they go cold for a stretch uh and then pick it up from there um yeah let’s do another ad read let’s put the merch uh let’s put the merch merch on the screen uh if anyone’s around has any more comments K I know you’re still watching I’d love to hear anything else from you um but yeah for now we’ve got the merch here um what better way to support something you love than by rocking it is clothing uh game overs apparel line has now dropped uh with three Unique Designs uh whether you feel the nostalgic pull of our retro skater design uh want to make a statement with our established design which is currently on sale uh want to wear your love for goalies proudly with our living die by the galie design or if you just need another coffee to get you through the winter because we do have coffee mugs um we got you covered designed by Brady chalice from game over Winnipeg use the QR code on the stream now and take a look through our apparel store and help us rebuild local sports media in Canada while repping your community so if you’re watching if you you know you if you like kind of what you’re seeing or what you’re hearing from us um not just me I know I’m great but like the other game over shows if you like what you’re seeing um please support us you know just you know buy buy a hoodie buy a shirt um you know you know rep it’s another way to rep your you know Canadian you know any CH team you know a different kind of apparel um Christmas is really it’s now 6 days away way it make a great Christmas gift though I don’t know if it’ll get to you in time um with the the Canada Post strike just ending and the backlog that they got yeah maybe we can ship UPS FedEx I don’t know I’m rambling way too long about you know the silly merch um uh me again um is there anything anything in the chat is there any if you’re out there please this is the overtime period where I answer any questions or just talk or just um yeah I will say the Jets Are Back In Action um on Saturday night so they have a nice little two-day break to kind of mull over hopefully you know hopefully they look at some tape and you know deep die of what the hell just happened tonight um and it doesn’t get any easy it doesn’t get easier we go from playing you know three of the worst teams in the league to now we you know we go up against um you know the other top team in the league this year uh the Minnesota Wild um so that game is 6 o’clock on Saturday night back in Winnipeg um nice kind of Hockey Night in Canada game uh you know we welcome Krill capriso to town um you know the NHL’s best player I’d say this season uh most dynamic for sure um not going to be an easy one not going to be an easy one for the Jets just gonna I knew k was still watching thank you I’m glad we have some comments um K says how do you feel about comry I don’t see Star I don’t like seeing star goalies get overworked um and how do you feel about that workload for hellu great questions okay um I wasn’t a big Comer fan at the beginning of the year um he’s uh just he hadn’t had a good couple of years in Buffalo he wasn’t um he wasn’t putting up NHL numbers really the last few years so I actually thought the Jets were going to keep cppo kakenan uh as the backup goenda Camp ended um you know but because of Comer’s uh relationship with huk you know they were friends like they had previously served as a goalie tandm together um I thought that kind of went out more than anything else just the chemistry that they had um and the Comer’s credit he’s kind of he’s taken the role that he has in stride um you know he is playing quite quite regularly once a week once every 10 days um you know huk I think a lot of people have talked about him um he’s maybe played a little bit too much in years past and maybe is you know burnt out in the playoffs yada yada yada um um I think that if huk can get 55 to 60 starts on the year I think that’s fine I think Comer can um you know manage the rest I think comry can get that 20 that 20 to 25 starts a year just the hell the way the schedule is I think that he’s already on Pace to do that as as of now and um you know tonight for example Eric comry was not um you know not the reason that uh the Jets lost you know con played fine um it just the Jets didn’t really play too well in front of them uh K is obviously speaking from the POV of having seen carry price never having a good backup so yeah there you go obviously in Montreal the Canadians had to ride carry price um you know a lot of the time um you know the Jets have been pretty fortunate to have some good backups um you know com’s played well um we had the best backup you know in the League last year Lauren bris he was excellent um you know put up you know even better numbers than hellu um in his starts um Dave rck played all right for the Jets when he was a backup um it’s just just Winnipeg’s always kind of been a good spot for uh um backup goalies like we have a good goalie coach um and Wade flarity who works with the the goalies and it’s usually a good place if you’re you know a goenda bad year you know come to Winnipeg be a backup play 20 games and you’ll probably put up like a 95 save percentage at least um you know and sign you’ll be able to sign for more money somewhere else in the off season as a couple genders have have done before so it’s um you know a very goalie friendly place here in Winnipeg as long as you’re okay you know only playing that 20 games 25 games a year and uh it’s hella Buck Nets um you know knock on wood he’s uh stayed very um you know injuryf free for much of his career so hopefully HB continues with that um okay thank you for being in the chat and um having it so I’m not talking um solely to myself here um you know play your cards right and maybe I’ll even join you on Friday night for your game I saw that you had reached out uh looking for someone to talk Montreal you know maybe we talk about Mark shley and Jake Evans you know that might be fun yeah if there’s no other questions here in the the chat um I think we’re going to wrap things up uh we’ve talked long enough um I’m less I will say I’m less annoyed going talking to myself for half an hour about the loss than I was when I started so maybe this was uh some whatever catharsis whatever anyways um we will be back here Saturday night um hockey name Canada 6 o00 start um against the Minnesota Wild it’s a home game um so I guess I’ll be here at around uh 8:45 that’s local that’s Central Standard Time um so for myself tyo here at the game Over wiip YouTube page um thank you for watching uh or listening wherever you get this have a great night have a great day great Thursday tomorrow today yeah hope it’s uh hope it’s just fantastic so take care everybody have a good one for
