back under a different name we’re going to speak about Muhammad Salah and the contract situation we’re going to ask who is it that’s urging Liverpool to sign Alexander isach we’re also going to be talking a little bit about Mikel ARA thinking the community Shield is an actual Trophy and a few other bits and pieces including Michaela mudricks well provisional ban for failing a doping test so we’ll talk about that a little bit as well as always though whatever it is that you guys want to discuss feel free to throw it into the chat and I’ll do my best to get to it so yeah thank you for going to talk about them and then something comes up and we have to but at least today I think I get to be the bearer of some good news for a chain so we’ll go through all of that as well so where to start where to start where to start where to start right let’s start with a couple of bits of housekeeping actually so the officials have now been named for Liverpool’s next two Premier League games as we know we take on Spurs in the league away in London on Sunday and then we go to West Ham the following Wednesday that Sunday as well so for the West Ham game these are the officials that the PGM have appointed to the game Anthony Taylor will be the referee his assistant will be Gary bwick Adam nun fourth official Steven Martin uh VAR Darren England and assistant VAR Simon Bennett for the game against Spurs little bit different Sam Barrett is going to be the referee for that one Lee Betts and Wade Smith will be the assistants fourth official Michael Oliver VAR for the game will be Paul Tierney and assist in VAR xan Massi Ellis so they’re the officials for the next two League games anyway a reminder tomorrow arlot is suspended so he won’t be on the touchline for the game against Southampton sof will be taking over those duties right let’s talk modrick let’s talk mudri for a second if I can before we get into the contract stuff so Michaela mudri has apparently provisionally failed a test for a substance called meldonium which is apparently common in Eastern Europe for hard conditions and stuff like that and is something that apparently uh helps your endurance but here’s what I want to say wouldn’t it be refreshing just once and I’m not saying it specifically for MRI but for somebody to just say yeah I did it because every single time in any single sport that a drug test is failed everybody fail that they’re shocked and they’re innocent everyone and I’m talking tennis football boxing pick a sport doesn’t matter everybody denies denies denies wouldn’t it be refreshing just for once to hear somethingone go yeah I did it I got caught um because they always F I’m so shocked me me no I only took what I was told you know it’s um it’s another bad luck apparently this happened according to the report while he was away in international Judy uh the athletic have said that he tested positive from meldonium following International Duty with Ukraine in November uh apparently it’s banned for athlet from since 2016 it isn’t licensed or available in the UK it would have been taken on an international Duty and the drug increases endurance uh didn’t stop on being [ __ ] though you know that’s one thing we have to point out here is you can take everything the world but you still [ __ ] so yeah I’m just getting fed up of people never just putting their hands up you know people dop in sport it happens if you run the risk and you get caught it’d be really refreshing for someone just to go yeah Fair cup I did it but apparently that’s never going to be the case um something I want to add last night right around the trend situation so I was watching Sky Back Pages last night and obviously I’m not going to mention that newspaper that we don’t speak about because because they’re well you know low lives but there was a topic that came up last night around Trent and his contract situation at Liverpool and they said that Liverpool are offering £250,000 a week for Trent Alexander Arnold and Trent wants 350,000 a week so I want to get your thoughts on that first and foremost but also John Cross of the Daily Mirror now I don’t know John Cross he always comes across like a lovely man so this is not me wanting to take a cheap at John Cross honestly I think he’s a good journalist I always enjoy listening to his thoughts but he’s very happy happy he said and again I want to get your reaction to this he said that if Trent Alexander Arnold announced that he wanted to go to Real Madrid and Liverpool won the League this season that no Liverpool fan would be annoyed or angry or be Grudge strength to move to Madrid and I sat there watching it going John you were lovely man but you’re deluded because I promise you Liverpool fans would be very much annoyed about it because we would have been strung along at that point and the winning of a league title isn’t going to mask the frustration if Trent drags it out that long so I think Mr John Cross was very wrong in his assumption on that and I think Liverpool fans would be very annoyed by it but let me know what you think because I was sitting there Gob smacked watching it going come stream back after a holiday I always think that everybody will have moved on and everybody will have found another Channel another podcast and another content creator that they’ve watch SW them away and that they they won’t show up again so I get nervous in that regard H I never get nervous about doing the stream because you know I feel very comfortable doing them at this point as you said I have grown as a person my personality’s grown I’ve become a bit more soft I think as the years have gone on but uh no I never feel nervous about it in regards to doing the stream but even with the live shows now the nerves have kind of gone for those as well I just go about and do them say to myself if you’ve done one before you’ll be grand what’s the worst that can happen but uh man thank you so much that is so kind of you and a lovely way to kick off today’s stream uh Stevie boy said so Mo and Virgil are close to signing their contracts which is great as for Trent he can do on a 350 look I I I want Trent to stay and I always want to say that before I come on to the next stuff because I have to to be clear on it I want Trent to stay very much so but I am very much in the camp of he’s not worth 350,000 a week and let me explain to you why Trent 25 heading for 26 this isn’t going to be his last big contract so the idea of giving Trent £350,000 a week now means two things to me one it’s a slap in the face to Muhammad Salah because everything that he had to do to get 350 Grand a week from Liverpool is far and above what Trent has done from an individual perspective to earn that money so there’s that side of it but then there’s the next contract so if you give Trent 350,000 a week now and he signs a four-year deal in two years time when he’s 20 s for heading for 28 you’re going to have another problem of him wanting 400 or 450,000 a week because remember players don’t like to go backwards in numbers they only ever move forward so I don’t think it will be sensible of us to give him that much money so for once and you won’t hear me say this very often but for once I am on the club side when it comes to this I do think the club offer of 250,000 a week is more than fair and look I’m sure there’s a little bit of wiggle room there as well I’m sure 250 probably means 270 275 when all a said and done but I’m very much firm on you cannot give him what Muhammad Salah had to rewrite the history books to get we had to break away struct that Liverpool that hadn’t played for a long time and the man that was deserving of it got it Muhammad Salah so I don’t think anybody has any quams about that but you can’t be giving them 350 Grand a week as a right back it’s mad like we need to get a grip of ourselves here like it is just setting ourselves up for future trouble uh 260 to 280 is Enough Said Bruno yeah look I think a lot of people are probably somewhere between 250 and three somewhere in that ballpark I’m at the lower end of it I do think you know 250,000 a week for a right back is more than enough and I’m sure he’ll get a nice signing on bonus as well because you know his contract will be up so he you know he should be getting a nice little sign that on bonus but n i I think we’re setting oursel up for future trouble and for once I’m on FSG side oh God I feel dirty saying that I feel dirty saying that but for once I am on I’m on their side on this one um you won’t see that written anywhere though because I’ll still be always talking about as the hater but I do think on this one it is sensible to stick in and around what they’re doing uh AJ said I like want now I have to say these are reports so we got to say that fairly but if they’re so far off the mark and they weren’t right I would imagine we we’d hear some people rubbishing them but let’s just conversations now if Trent does go because it just doesn’t make sense it’s not the right type of player and um we’d probably look elsewhere so let’s get on the Salis because that’s what I’m here for tonight and that’s the part I’m excited to talk about so Sergio Aguero I know bit of a weird one but Sergio Aguero came out and said as I understand Salah renewed his contract as a two-year deal the best news Liverpool could receive on top of that there was also a report in the mail that said Liverpool are close to ending speculation over Muhammad salah’s future and he’s going to sign the New Deal now here’s what I feel confident to say to you right now Virgil and mo will sign new deals at the football club I don’t know if they’re already signed or if they’re at the last part but I’m at a confident place I’ve spoken to so many different people I feel like I can say to you those two contracts are going to be signed off I don’t know lent I don’t I’m not going to say here some people say two some people say one some people say two plus one I don’t know that but I think as of right now we can make peace with the fact that Muhammad Salah and Virgil Van DJ are going to to State at Liverpool Football Club it’s not just Aguero it’s not just the male the mirror have said it other people have spoken to have said it but what I can say to you is that the signatures are already on the contract don’t know that but I do feel it is there and it is there and thereabout so I think we can be relieved on those two don’t know anything about wages don’t know anything about the confirmed lent but it does seem there’s an agreement there or the how do I say it again outline of an agreement and it won’t be tooo far away so I feel like that’s been boxed off now and it’s all just going to come down to what Trent situation is and that I have no idea on I wish I did I wish I could sit here and give you some news on it I don’t know anything about Trent’s contract whatsoever um as I’ve said all the way through so yeah I’m buzzing genuinely buzzing because if you go back six weeks ago maybe even a bit less I I did not think we’d be keeping out I didn’t I didn’t think the club would would get near whatever his ask was but I’m so glad that there seemingly has been compromised on both sides because I think it’s the best fit for both sides of this Mohammad Salah and his family are very settled he’s absolutely idolized at Liverpool he’s performing really well here um and hopefully a few more years of that to come so that’s brilliant news and Virgil it seemed like an now Briner all along that Virgil would be done because he’s our captain again his form has been topnotch I think most people believe he can play on for a few more years at the top level easily so that’s brilliant news but I’m still unsure on what happens with the whole Trend situation um yeah don’t mean to try and steer people one way or the other cuz I I can’t say enough I don’t know anything about it uh Nevin said 250k with performance bonuses of 100K fair for Trent I just don’t think anything close to him getting 350k even with bonuses is is fair for him I just don’t I think £250,000 a week with another review to come in let’s say two years I think it’s more than enough because okay this might sound a bit weird what I’m about to say next but hear me out under Jurgen I would have been more inclined to give Trent closer to the 300 because under uran I felt like Trent’s impact in the team was was more under ARA I feel like his defensive responsibilities are a bit more and he’s improved there but I don’t think he has the same level of impact as he did on the uran club albeit he still has impact of course sets up goals we know that I just think under arnet it’s a bit more understated than perhaps what it was on the uran right who’s this one uh Harry yes so Harry let me get your super chat up mate and then a few more to get through but thank you all so much uh Harry said hi again Craig I want to wait until the end of the season to judge Nunes but it’s great that we have eyes on esac we definitely need to sign the left back so again I’m not for one second saying we have eyes on esack nor did the title of tonight’s stream saying we have eyes on esack what it says is that somebody has recommended that Liverpool look at esack and we will move on to that in a moment also he could be available because Newcastle have PS stuff they need to sort out H but thank you Harry and again totally understand if you want to wait judge Nunes at the end of the season I I just think now Theo goes back we’ll see him having less opportunities H sain thank you so much my friend you’re very kind uh said if we sign Virgil Mo and Trent Before Christmas what is the minimum you’d accept from January window if you can only sign two players in January which would be as always your Legend well thank you bro I can’t lie I said going into this January window a midfielder and I’d be happy you know I think we do need to keep an eye on the left back situation but I also am mindful that it’s a difficult Market to do business in January unless you’re willing to overpay a lot and we’re not a club that’s willing to overpay a lot so for me if you brought that midfielder in and the contracts were sorted like you said I i’ I’d be happy enough with that until the summer um and then we get a better read on the Robertson and Costa situation and also Darwin so for me Midfield and anything after that would be a huge bonus but no midfielder and I feel like we’re running a risk again an unnecessary risk uh Jason Burton how are you Jason and thank you sir said Trent should know greedy boys get coal in their stockings there you go greedy boys get coal in I thought that was bold boys no either way either would explain my Cal though Jason so St girl said ha Diva super league but I can see clubs here persuading fans to liking it because of how shambolic the premier league has been recently so we’ll move on in a minute star girl to talk about the unify League which is what they’re now calling the new Super League plot H Harry Harry said if klopp stay his contract will be done by now so I think we’ve spoken about this before and I’m not speaking out of turn because it was reported on by many in the media excuse me still at the tail end of this head cold um Liverpool could have pulled a fast one on Trent on Virgil and mo but they didn’t Liverpool could have got those contracts sorted out particularly Trent’s before the announcement of uran’s departure but they didn’t out of respect now you can search this up yourselves it’s been written about by journalists Liverpool didn’t want to be underhanded with Trent Liverpool wanted to be upfront show them the situation let him see the next manager and make all this out and this is another part of the reason why I’m getting so wound up by the trend situation I I can’t help it it it pisses me off every day more and more because it’s a cop out to me that he isn’t speaking up um and again it’s a cop out to me if he thinks he’s worth £350,000 a week cuz he’s not so if he’s rejected three contract offers and there’s still a 100 Grand a week Gap I don’t know Lads I I don’t know who’s blinking here because I think Liverpool will be able to get fans on side if they were to say well we just didn’t you know even brief some Journal just didn’t think 350 was value it isn’t but let’s see what you guys think of the poll would you give Trent £350,000 a week so far we’ve had over 1,000 votes but we’ll keep it going cuz it’s a big topic and 82% so eight out of every 10 people people just over eight of every 10 people voting in this poll saying no they would not give Trent Alexander Arnold £350,000 per week and I am very much one of those people right so let’s move on to the esac situation because a lot of you have have asked about that in the comments as well um so Germaine pennant suggested that Liverpool should look at signing esack and we we didn’t bring it up tonight to say that it’s a boner Friday link we brought it up as a jumping off point for a conversation um I would have no quams about signing esack other than maybe a concern about his availability and some injuries but if Newcastle are going to be in a position where they’re being forced to sell I don’t think we’d be able to do it in January unless we move somebody on but I would very much say yes to to esack and I think it’s a decent suggestion from Jermaine pennant so yeah let me know what you guys think would you be happy if Liverpool were to bring in esack and moved on Darwin let’s say uh who would you sign if Trent unfortunately leaves so it’s a difficult one to answer this because I really rate Bradley very highly but I will also say to you I do think Connor Bradley has some more development left in them so it’s I guess it’s a question of trying to measure up can you go with Bradley bring in let’s say another young right back or do you go into the market and look for somebody in the 25 26 years of age category bit more even maybe a year older to give Brad to have that mix of an older senior right back and then young Bradley but I would have no crams about Bradley becoming the first choice I think you know once we can get his Fitness up like that I think he’s going to be the long-term successor anyway this might be just forced in our hand a year earlier than we would have liked uh Craig salid contract isn’t confirmed by official sources it’s just a bunch of rumors yeah that’s what you say sam look mate I’m not telling you to believe me all I’m saying to you is I’m not just going off unofficial sources I’m going off people who have told me that it is moving very much so in the right direction um but if again it’s always best to wait if you feel comfortable for official words from the club but you know I’ve paused and been very honest all the way through these three contract negotiations when I’ve heard nothing I’ve said nothing but I feel very confident that we’re at that point now where Virgil and mo are all but signed up and they may even be signed up for all I know but I just don’t know on Trend I I I have no idea I’ve no reading of it I’ve no information on it um but if you feel more comfortable mate hanging off I totally get that as well didn’t we sign a right back on the clock Calvin Ramsey is the one you’re thinking of I think vaugh Calvin Ramsey will be the one that you’re thinking of there that was lan out do you prefer marmo or cesco so for us I feel even allowing for the eack conversation my first priority of assigning for a forward would be would be Omar marmo um cesco I like a lot but I feel he’s a better fit for somebody like an Arsenal um I just think alar Maro would make a lot of sense for us price-wise age wise obviously with Molin as well you know it’s never a bad thing when you have international teammates you have to have the conversation with the afcon of course and losing both of them for it but yeah look those names though isach marmo um cesco I I I’ll be honest all three of them I wouldn’t be unhappy with any of them cesco would probably be the more of a wild card a little bit more developing still to do but still a very very good player uh Craig is Liverpool thinking of signing Gusto not that I’m aware of uh Chelsea won’t be a selling Club um if anything I think people are wondering if they’ll have a transfer ban coming their way so I don’t think they’re going to be looking to move people like that but I’ve not heard anything about it either which midfielder do I want I haven’t got a clue outside of um zubba mendi I really like ederson is probably my choice but like I spoken about with the manager changing and the role of the six changing maybe Edison wouldn’t be the best f for the way arnor would like to play but I like him I think he’s a very very good solid midfielder a great work work ethic as well goes about his business kind of in an unsexy role but I’ve always liked the way he’s played I think he’ll progress well in the next few years I don’t know much about Samuel RI from Torino another name that we’ve spoken about over the last few days don’t know much about him but pricewise you’re looking probably 25 million 30 million something like that um but look it’s it’s zuba Mendy if there’s any indication he wants to move and you can get them to commit and actually sign the damn contract then you know zuba Mendy will be a great fit how are we my friend to t2k Z1 said I don’t want Trend to leave but 350k is a lot and to be uh honest out of the Tre Trent is the one that we already have a made replacement for so when I think about the trend contract mate I don’t just think about what he’s going to get now I think about the fact he’ll have another renewal in two years and if you give them 350 now are we really going to be sitting here in two years talking about a right back on four 00 or 450,000 a week let’s be honest these numbers are only being given because he’s a local boy I I feel comfortable in saying that no other right back even with the the attributes that Trent have would be getting 350 Grand so I feel like the localness is also adding to the expensiveness of it now but we’re not seeing that committed yet so look I don’t I can’t lie my mind is turn it on Trent a bit I can’t lie to you every time I talk about it think about it I’m getting aggravated but that’s not Trent’s fault you know this is just the way I’m wired um I’m trying to be as open-minded as I can about the situation but the longer it goes on the more wound up I’m getting because like I keep saying every day I have a checklist I’ve worked through it and every question’s been answered I don’t see why he stalling now if it’s just down to money and greed I think 350 is I do and I think he is holding the club somewhat to Ransom if that’s the number he’s looking for and that that is my opinion on it that is genuinely how I feel um I’m not saying it’s the right opinion I’m not saying you should feel that way I’m not trying to be toxic about it I just think it’s a piss take because if he’s using the fact his contract is coming up and if he’s using the Real Madrid thing well the only reason the club are in this position is because they were kind and allowed Trent to have time to assess Jurgen Le and assess ARA and then to have that maybe used against them in the negotiation tactic where clock’s tick and January’s getting close the whole thing just feels grubby to me and if Liverpool have been upfront and honest with Trent about Jurgen leaving and you know didn’t pull a fast one on him I would like to think that that respect is given now we’re always going to be told as football fans that things are respectful but I don’t buy it all the time because let’s be honest most of the [ __ ] we get told is [ __ ] anyway or very sanitized version of what’s actually happened so I’ve no doubt if he got his 350 a week he’d be sitting in front of the camera talking about I never never wanted to leave this is my club blah blah blah I want to hear that now right now before he comes to an agreement with the club or not I want to hear that this is what you want uh he’s the best attacking right back in the league but an average defensive right back I think 250k is fair said Richard as I said to you my thought process now is that his attacking side has been Ted in a little bit under ARA and he’s improved defensively so I don’t think we’re getting as much out of him in attack but I think we’re getting a little bit more out of him in defense so I think for the fact that we are playing in a system that most likely is going to have somewhere close to a normal right back in the way the positions normally played it just seems excessive uh mancy Verma said year on-year increase on wages and long-term deal for Trent again that could be something that could be because of fans and yes maybe you can remove season tickets and get more money for tickets but that one thing that makes football special that atmosphere that Heritage that’ll be gone and you won’t wheelchair basketball for eight years and is still playing in a borrowed club chair that is heavy and slow a new sports wheelchair would allow Joe to work on his Fitness as well as coaching and and helping other young people Joe is youth worker and works for a local charity as a pastoral care support uh lead working with young people from the ages of 14 to 25 having a new sports share would allow Joe to get involved and do activities with young people and help more young people get involved in sport and we think that is exactly the type of person that we’d like to try and help out here
