we have multiple Toronto Blue Jays updates to go over today’s surrounding free agency as Shai deidi the most notable Blue Jays reporter has come out and revealed some very interesting information surrounding the Jay’s current plans as they head in to the market for a few huge free agents we’re going to break that down discuss what it means going forward as well as Jordan Romano he spoke out for the first time since being released by The Blue Jays and revealed some interesting details surrounding his time in Toronto stay T prob this episode folks before we get into a quick reminder hit than 500 Subs away from 15,000 our goal was to hit that before Christmas we’re getting close we’re exactly a week away for from Christmas sorry so if you want to help us towards that goal make sure to hit that subscribe button Now ladies and gentlemen there’s a lot to go over today and again a lot of this is uh there’s some new updates shav viid broke the silence again he hasn’t reported much as of late but when shav VI sh Sor um you know tweets and posts and speaks we listen and as a result we have some interesting to go over today in this little sneak peek but I want to start with a couple things here and we’ll start with the uh I kind of give you some insight there’s also an interesting Cody Bellinger update to go over but I want to cover this first so sh video dropped an article revealing where the Jays currently stand as they head into the holidays because as you know now Christmas is approaching us and you have arbitration things and you know early to mid January the question then is whether those moves were the Winter’s appetizer or main course and this is referring to the moves of getting Andres Jimenez and that was you know that trade for Andre Jimenez and Nick samin so it says again questions whether those moves the appetizer or the main course and assessing that requires going through the wildly contradictory information circulating in the industry about the club the consensus is the Jays are trying to do more and remain engaged all over the market but they are alternatively described as having money to spend or in every dollar counts mode eager to pounce or be or prepared to be patient lean towards patience meanwhile an American League East already ahead of them in nearly every way keeps beefing up specifically talking about the Yankees which will dive into later so they are engaged on Corbin Burns according to shavi who is no doubt seeking a huge payday Beyond Max Freed’s uh of course you know eight-year or eight or two8 million deal given that the free contract blue pass their comfort point the the same way very well may play out for the right-hander specifically regarding Corbin burns the Blue Jays also continue to have interest in reuniting with tasa Hernandez and Santander among other players although high they value them and how much spending room they have is still tough to pin down so this is a little bit interesting unfortunate in some ways and I guess intriguing the other way so the Jays currently at this point are at a bit of a stalemate they are waiting for tasa Hernandez and you know Anthony send to kind of see how that market plays out we’ve seen tons of reports we kind of know what their comfort zone is regarding tasa hernandz and Anthony santand Deere and what it takes to get them in a Toronto Blue Jay’s uniform and that is four years 22 to $24 million for tasar Hernandez as we know and then for Anthony sandir five years about $90 million and as we’ve been discussing on this channel at naio the Jays need to get one of those two guys if they don’t then you’re looking at the Alternatives of guys like jock Peterson and some other players of that nature maybe they make a trade for Josh Naylor or something like that and we know they were actively engaged trying to get Cody Bellinger which we’ll discuss in a little bit here because we have some more reports on that but again according to Shai deidi they are actively pursuing Corbin Burns this is the first time that we saw a concrete report that they are pursuing Corbin Burns and he still hasn’t signed it is he’s the last big scout Bor client that is yet to sign we thought his Market was going to fall right after the wotto you know market and like that but ultimately it’s still at a stalemate right now and we’re seeing conflicting reports and rumors come out saying that basically a deal would have been done we know Ken Rosenthal came out and said that a deal was supposed to be done by last week and that of course hasn’t happened yet and reports are circulating rumors are flying surrounding Scott Boris basically saying that Scott Boris at this point is asking for more from the San Francisco Giants from all the teams involved so that’s what’s causing this stale makes we know that in all likelihood he wants to go to the San Francisco Giants he wants to be in California all these things but he hasn’t received the offer they wanted and then again regarding tasar and santand depending how much they value him and one interesting part of this report is the fact that like you mentioned given that the free contract or like shot of V mentioned sorry given that the free contract blew pass or comfort point the same may very well be true for Corbin Burns and we saw reports that they were interested in Max Reed before the season before the offseason really got underway and as it got continued to get underway but it ended up being that the Jays never really made a competitive off competitive offer for Max free they didn’t think he was worth 8 years 218 they didn’t think he was worth even close to that and as a result they didn’t get him in a deal that’s ultimately what happened which I don’t hate I do think they still need to Pivot and add some other players and specifically like I mentioned Corbin Burns here and as you look at kind of their payroll and how you know they’ve managed over the past half decade their specifics regarding how much they’re giving contracts how much you know the a the length all these different things you can see here the most significant transaction to date is the acquisition of Andre Jimenez that’s of course to dat meaning this offseason three time Gold Glove second based defenseman or second baseman sorry the interesting part about this is that some fans may not even realize like he’s worth he’s owed $100 million so they you know got they you know inhaled hundred million they inherited $100 million over the next five years and even though it was a trade and people don’t really think about the money in that way it’s the fifth largest financial commitment to a player in club history of course alongside Springer Brios Wells Gosman and then Andre Jimenez so they did make a big splash it’s just not the splash a lot of fans wanted but when it comes to a financial commitment it is a pretty hefty Splash $20 million a year for the next 5 years and as you start to think about what this team can do next and why they aren’t spending all this money I think they’re like Chad mentioned they’re definitely being patient you have some sources around the league saying that they’re really active and going for all the big fish we saw during the wodo situation they were going for wodo and now they’re linked to Corbin burns like we mentioned they need to actually go out and get one of these guys because at the end end of the day they’ve made a lot of financial commitment but and we know they were in on Cody Bellinger we saw Brian Cashman say today the Cubs decided Cody Bellinger was getting traded yesterday I know the other destination I won’t say who it was but if we didn’t pull him down he would have been off the board almost positively the Blue Jays John heon linked it to him yesterday so that stinks a little bit if you’re a Jays fan and you wanted Cody Bellinger but they’re big game shopping and this would have been another trade for a guy who’s owed $52.5 million really 57.5 depending if the JS would have inherited the some of the contract there and that was have been another you know big money spending move but it stings because the chays ultimately didn’t get Cody Bellinger and it seems like they were in deep talks to acquire him so what that means going forward is they’re clearly not content with the current Outfield situation which is why I do think they get s tendere or teoscar Hernandez but what it also means is that I’m not entirely sure how confident the Jays are in their ability to get one of Teo or sandir if they’re going out and attempting to trade for a guy like Cody Bellinger it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me unless they’re really planning to bolster this offense move Springer DH or get Sant tendere moveing to DH or something like that but we know the Yankees are looking at Sant tendere we know there’s a lot of different things that are happening and chadid also goes to say that like on one hand they’re chasing wotto a year after trying to lar shotani refusing to let cost Serv as a barrier to entry on the other hand they’re non- tendering Romano who ends up signing with the Phillies for more than what a salary would have been with the blue jays and it’s because you don’t really know where the Jays are going at this point and as tough as it is to reconcile the pattern of this front office is to pursue top talent while sticking to their valuation at times when they’ve needed to Lunge to pull a deal across the Finish Line hunen Ryu George spring in particular they have since jumping early to sign kendri Morales at the beginning of 2016 17 offseason they’ve genuinely or generally sorry opted to wait out such markets in search of the best deals which is fine from a business perspective but when you’re a Jay’s team at this point that desperately needs top end talent and the way the MLB is going right now you need to overspend every other team is overspending the Mets jumped another 50 to 60 million in the last 24 hours of D stto bidding we’ve seen teams jump in their bid for Blake Snell we saw the Dodgers jump right away you see other teams like Willie Adamas is getting good deals it’s at the point now where like Andrew Freeman and the Dodgers the Dodgers GM president baseball operation said if you stay you know passive and you don’t really venture out from your valuations and you’re always a little bit scared you’re always going to be third place in the race or second place and guess what the Jays were second place for Cody Bellinger they were second place for wono they were second place for sh Otani and I’m sure as hell if they miss out on Corbin Burns they’ll be second place for Corbin Burns so they need to make a move and it is an encouraging update it seems like they are involved still in the bigname players it’s not like shavid is coming out and saying they’re not involved they are very involved which is encouraging but they need to actually it’s only encouraging if they get one of the guys so if they don’t then you’re pivoting to some other players and again the tar versus Santa thing just give me either one of them at this point it doesn’t matter but let me know down below what your thoughts are on this and again they they made a trade they made a bit of a splash it went under the radar a little bit was worth a lot of money and Andre s menz is going to be a very good player but fans aren’t happy because that’s not what the Jays need the Jays need power the Jays need power and guess what they also need more power and a bullpen their Bullpen is still pretty rough even though they did sign Jimmy Garcia and Nick Salon like they’ made some moves but it’s interesting let me know down below what your thoughts are and before we wrap up Jordan Romano went and the Blair Barker show and also kind of spoke out on his time in Toronto he said when I look back at my time in Toronto it’s not bitter it’s just kind of like that was such a cool experience and I’m glad I got to do that because it was my reality or it was my it was really my dream obviously turned to a reality so shout out to Jordan Romano Canadian kid got his dream turned into a reality and it’s interesting that the Jays let him go at a you know a number that other teams were willing to pay him in the Philadelphia Phillies so it doesn’t make a ton of sense I still understand why they did it they don’t think that Jordan Romano was going to be worth that amount of money the 7.75 million and I tend to agree a little bit I mean they ultimately got Jimmy Garcia they’re trying to spend money getting guys like Cody Bellinger tasar Hernandez Corin Burns Anthony Santander whoever it is they need to go out and get someone they need to do it soon and of course they have vlat and bow to extend as well so we’ll keep you up to date mainly vlat but we’ll keep you up to date with all the latest news so make sure to hit that subscribe button to help us towards our goal of 15,000 subscribers thank you guys for watching see you later
